Things in Bedelev (Open RP)

OOC: This is my first time, so give me a break if I mess up on this! Here I go:

"United we stand, heh, ain't that a funny one?" Jerry Hords said while reading the newspaper. "The title should be, "On laborers we stand"! They're always making us guys do the work, just because of how we look. Oh well, I guess it is for the betterment of the country. I mean, we our the stronger guys. So I guess it does make sense."
"Quite your bitchin, would yah Jerry?" Micheal Hords, Jerry's older brother replied. "Stop reading the newspaper, we got to go check out that site."
"You mean Gaustlofus? I don't see why the company even cares about that place," Jerry said in that know-it-all voice of his. "Its out in the middle of nowhere in the deep forest, the only thing special about it is that's where the dictator before last died."
"Yup, that cold-hearted tyrant, Sir Wolfenhimz," Answered Micheal. "Our father lived through that time."
"Yah, yah, I know," Said Jerry. "He never really talks about it though, always has a passive face of stone whenever I use to bring it up. I never got why that dictator liked to be called sir so much."
"The guy was a nutjob, don't you remember all those stories about how he thought he was one of the knights from the Round Table?" Micheal laughed. "Enough of this talk though, let's get to Gaustlofus and back, its getting late out."
"I still don't get why we are doing this. Its so stupid!" Jerry complained as the two began to walk into the forest. "Why did he send laborers to investigate anyway? Why not agents or something?"
"Maybe he trusts our judgement on things more."
The two stopped talking for a while as the sun was swallowed by the horizon, and the skies conquered by shining stars. Although, the thick canopy of the forest stopped all light from piercing through except for casual rays of moonlight through gaping holes of the forest's roof.
The two used the moonlight to navigate their way through the thick forest. Wishing that they could bring their jeep in with them, alas the forest was far too overgrown for any sort of vehicle to get through, much less the Hord's infamous and bulky jeep.
The sounds of crickets kicked in as the two entered one of three clearings that led to Gaustlofus. The grass here was tall, and bushes had started to intrude on the landscape that laborers had worked so hard to clear. It had been years since anyone had been back here, maybe even decades since anyone actually had even given Gaustlofus a thought.
The two laborers worked in a big chemical corporation. They had a pretty simple task, most of it was lifting and transporting materials from point A to point B. The Hords brothers were famous among other laborers for their immense strength, and that's what made them the favorite employ of the month.
Great, since I'm the favorite employee I get the benefit of traveling in some damp woods in the middle of the night with my brother. Lucky me. Jerry thought as he stepped into a rather deep puddle.
The splash alarmed Micheal, "Be quiet, would yah? You almost made me piss my pants!"
"What? Are you scared or something?"
As if on cue, at the ending of the clearing the two stood in, a mere ten feet, came a loud rustling. The two pulled out concealed pistols, weapons that normal citizens of Bedelev were forbiddened to have. A great breathing could be heard emanating from the bushes, and whatever was there seemed to shake the ground with its very movement.
"What are you?" Jerry yelled weakly.
"Show yourself!" Micheal shouted, his voice just as fragile.
Then it came, its black fur bristling in the night. Its leathery face hardened by the years, with eyes glistening in stark contrast from its dry face. The thing started to move towards the Hords brothers, but then turned around to a nearby line of grape bushes.
"It was just a damn ape," Jerry replied, letting out an audible sigh.
"We're lucky that they are tamed so near to the city, well for the most part," Micheal said, putting his pistol away. "It would be hell to meet one of those things in the deeper parts of Bedelev. Especially the brown furred ones, I heard they got quite the temper."
"Let's get this over with," Jerry said.
The two began to move again through the forest towards Gaustlofus. They passed the second clearing, and entered a swampy area. Their boots were soon drenched in water and partially covered with a weird weed-like plant that the two had never seen before. It was an hour in the cold swampy waters before they finally found the old complex of Gaustlofus.
"Remind me again why we are here?" Jerry said as he sat down, resting on a fallen log.
Gaustlofus was nestled in a small depression, overgrown with brush it would seem from being abandoned for so long. Vines draped most of the square, squat windows of the two-level complex, and the door was broken off, leaving an ominous gaping entry into the building. It seemed dark, almost forlorn in Micheal's mind.
"Micheal?" Jerry said.
"What?" Micheal replied, snapping out of his small daze.
"I asked, why do you think they sent us here."
"Hell if I know. Well, we work for a chemical company, so maybe there is some sort of chemicals in here that they want us to retrieve for them. Or some notes. We'll just keep an eye out for anything that looks important."
"Alright," Jerry replied, getting up. "Let's do it, shall we?"
Micheal smiled, "Yah, sooner the better. I'm missing that world cup lacrosse game."
"You hate lacrosse, Micheal."
"I hate this place more."
"Touche."
The two entered Gaustlofus, the squat, white-washed building. It was slightly slanted from age, and the fact that deep pool of water was on the top of the abandoned complex. Most of the glass appeared broken, and the smell of rot entered the Hords brothers' nostrils as they walked through the gaping maw of Gaustlofus.
The two couldn't see anything in the dark. There were papers all over a desk that was silhoueted in the few bits of moonlight that managed to pierce the thick glass windows and vine shutters. Other then that, they could see a stairwell leading down, and a spiral staircase leading up in the next room. In the next room, there were filing cabinets everywhere, and a small light that could flicker off and on.
"Want me to switch the light on?" Jerry asked, about to hit the switch.
"No!" Micheal said with authority. "Don't! This place is old, that switch could do anything if the wiring in this building is anything like how they did it back then."
"Oh yah, good thinking," Jerry said. "I had forgot about that. Man, what were those techies thinking back then? Even I know better then not to cross wires and all that stuff like that."
"I'm sure you do, Jerry. Now start helping me look for something we can take back for our bosses."
The two started looking through desks and cabinets on the first floor. They spent about ten minutes till they had cleared the cabinets. Most of it had been empty, but a few folders filled with papers were found, most of them were striped with red, the old dictator had had a fetish with that color.
They had piled all the documents they were going to take back to their bosses on one of the nearby desks in the room with the spiral staircase. The two were at the desk when suddenly, the light switch was flipped on from behind them.
The Hords brothers turned around and saw a man looking at them with a blank face, wearing dark apparel. The Hords were frozen with fear as the man looked at them with those eyes, those glistening black eyes, those piercing black eyes on that pale face.

---------------------------------------------

"Reports say that the Hords brothers went out on routine searching for lost chemical reports to Gaustlofus. The two have since been reported missing since a week ago. Four days ago though, the body of Micheal J. Hords was found, dumped in a nearby swamp, his body shredded to the point where his body was almost unabled to be identified. Only the dogtags that were used to make large indentations into his neck, could be used to identify this poor soul," Came the report off of the Central Bedelev News Network.
The reporter's voice continued as pictures of Micheal J. Hords' shredded body came on screen, to the disgust of many viewers, "Sergeant Kredheim along with a highly trained search&rescue team will be scouting through the forest and the surrounding areas of Gaustlofus in the search of the still missing, Jerry P. Hords. This is Ashley Litz reporting on behalf of CBNN, thank you and have a good night."

OOC: Sergeant Kredheim's team will start on the road next to the Hords jeep. There are three clearings in the forest leading up to Gaustlofus, the first two being grassy areas that were once used as a picnic grounds at lunch for the employees of Gaustlofus, more then thirty years ago. Gaustlofus is where a tyrant dictator was killed in the last civil war of Bedelev that brought about radical changes in the country, including the stopping of enslavement on Bedelev's laborer class, which since then has been abolished, yet tradition still remains in the country and the changes have done little to do change the mindsets of both the employers and the laborers. Before the third clearing, where Gaustlofus is nestled in a small depression, is a swamp-like area where they found Micheal J. Hords body floating in one of the many small ponds in the area.

Have fun! And make it sound real, and exciting, and kind of creepy since this is kind of a horror story!!!

Alright, see yah later :sniper:
