Nargopia Placed into Zephyr Division of Arcticanuck

Today, the Nargopian Lacrosse team received word that they would be competing in the Zephyr Division of the Larger Arcticanuck Division, pitting them against Kazakhstania, New Savio, and Blessed Restraint for the smaller division title.

Coach Thalius Vendorf feels the rookie team has promise, but realizes the need for extra practices in the few days preceding the tournament. Star defender Ygron Gannon, while less than enthusiastic about the additional workouts, is quite optimistic about how the Llamas will perform.

National Lacrosse Team to be pitted against more experienced teams

MONTE KARLO - It was a chilly morning at the University Park Training Grounds as the National Lacrosse Team of New Savio was near finished with their morning jog as assistant coach Alejandro Holdren broke the news to the coach and players. The team, which was put together several weeks ago by the National Lacrosse Association of New Savio [NLANS] after the announcement that New Savio would participate in the second World Cup of Lacrosse, would be put in the Zephyr Division in Articanuck against Kazakhstania, Blessed Restraint, and Nargopia. I got the chance to interview the assistant coach on his thoughts about the coming tournament, and heres what he had to say...

A.R - Are you excited for the coming tournament?

A.H - Well yes, since it is the first international sporting event for New Savio, and it's nice to get our name out in the world, but, I am concerned we will be embarresingly defeated as although we think were pretty good, our level of play might be only considered average among other nations.

A.R - How do you feel about the other teams in the Zephyr Division?

A.H - Well, from what i've heard, Kazakhstania is sporting a very good team, so i'd be surprised if they lose in the division round. Also i've heard good about the Nargopian teams and not much from the team from Blessed Restraint. Our highest chances of winning are against Blessed Restraint, and I personally think second place will be a battle between New Savio and Nargopia, but again, I haven't really seen any of the other teams play.

A.R - Do you think participation in this World Cup will bring a wider knowledge and recognition of Lacrosse to New Savio?

A.H - Well definately, I mean, I remember as a young lad playing lacrosse in the streets of Forza, so it definately already has a strong fanbase, and with it now being televised for this upcoming World Cup, Lacrosse will be one of the nation's premier sports, and maybe an actual league will be put up along with perhaps the sport being played in colleges and high schools.

A.R - Thank you, assistant coach Holdren, I hope you the best in this upcoming tournament.

A.H - Thanks.

The team definately sports mixed feelings about the upcoming event, but it seems the entire team is optimistic, and hopefully they'll come out victorious.

Timmy Tutone: And welcome back to The Best Damn Lacrosse Commentary Period on NSPN.

Tommy Titan: Today we take a look at the national team...

Timmy: Well of course we do, Tom. After all, it's not like we could've taken a look at them last week. They were just formed four days ago!

Tommy: Ahem. Yes, as I was saying, the Nargopian Llamas are fresh out of the box and ready for action. I spoke with Coach Hannigan last night, and he told me that he was very optimistic about this young team.

Timmy: [looks at stats] Wait a minute. Have any of these guys even played lacrosse before?

Tommy: Some of them. It is right in the middle of the Nargopian Lacrosse League division playoffs, you know, and thus there really aren't many players available for this tournament.

Timmy: So let me get this straight. Out of our four-day old team, the only ones that do play the sport are ones who play for teams knocked out in the first rounds of the NLL playoffs?

Tommy: I wouldn't have said it so bluntly, but... yes.

Timmy: Well, sportsfans, wish your Llamas luck, because they're sure as hell going to need it.

Tommy: You're fired.

Timmy: You said that last week.

Tommy: Good night, folks.

Bob: Wellllllcome back, eh. Appearently our brand new lacrosse team has been entered into the Vilita Division. For those of you oot there that area actually following the World cup of Lacrosse II, ou should know that this puts them against Arcticanuck, Sarzonia, and Oliverry. These are very tough teams boot we are expecting quite a shoe, at leat from Cannaduh's end, eh? For more information aboot the team, we interviewed head coach, Thumass Kanook.

TK: Whats this all aboot eh?

B: were just interviewing u aboot the lacrosse team

tk: really eh? then whats the camera for?

b: putting it on tv

tk: I knew there was a catch....dirty mexicans

b: okee. aboot the lacrosse team. so how did u prepare them for this event

tk: rigorous training. we brought in a drill sergeant and let him whoop them into shape. we trained them to a point where they where physically unable to screw up. hopefully theyll remember their training when push comes to push
