Allanea

Bristol, Allanean Tennessee
Sheriff Rockwell blinked at his fax machine. Holy. Mother. Of. God. This couldn’t be. He red the message again, then called out.
"Sandra! Sandra!"
Sandra appeared almost immediately. She was a young woman of obvious Edolian lineage - her parents have been Axackali refugees. Now, when the Two Rivers Confederation became part of the United States of Allanea, she moved to Bristol and became a Deputy Sheriff. How did this rough-talking, almost entirely non-feminine Goth girl end up as a Deputy Sheriff, nobody even tried to guess. Rumours had it she killed three people in duels in Port-Allanea for just these sort of questions. Whether this was true or not, you don’t really insult a quick-tempered gal who carries a Ruger SP101 in an IWB, do you?
"We’re in deep."
She smiled. "Why, Neil?"
Neil Rockwell shrugged: "Apparently some scumbags committed multiple murder north of the border, and ran off down here. Worse - they found one of the crime guns, and not only has it been made in the States, but company sales records seem to show it has been shipped to a gun store down here in Tennessee. And since I live here, I have been appointed to the International Task Force. You too, by the way."
The smile changed into a grimace of puzzlement: "Who appointed us?".
Rockwell shrugged sadly: "The Los Federales. It’s a "federal and international matter" - he uttered with derision, "so the buggers claim jurisdiction or something. The Tiburonese are sending an investigator of their own - a top-rate guy, I heard."
Sandra Lein bent slightly forward, her eyebrows arcing up . "So when’s the Mr. Big Boy coming to town?"
He sighed. "I don’t know when, Sandra, but soon. Very soon."
