The Condensed History of Crimmond (now with 50% less saturated fat!)

Crimmond

[OOC: Something I have been planning on doing for about eight months, but it's taken me this long to try and remember what all has happened. The First Era is backstory, nothing more. The Era of Blood and on is all the RPing I have done, though it is all from memory as the forum purges wiped the slate.]

A young man stood in front of a computer screen, typed in a query and then walked to a long line of shelves. The lebrary was still open in this wing. The other was still blown to hell and back. This young man had more on his mind than that though, staring at six great tomes, bound in different shades of leather.

He read the titles... "The First Era. The Era of Blood. The Era of Peace. The Era of Darkness." He took one from beside them. The Timeline of the Eras. He opened it and started to read.

The First Era started on September 1, 1939. The date that will forever be known as the start of World War II. As the Reich rolled over the lands of Poland, the Jews and Poles fought back hard, but failed. The Soviets were invading as well, calling themselves 'defenders'. A group of Jews and Poles called themselves the Crim Gaurd. They struck a deal with the Reds, stating that they would keep the Poles weak so that the Red Army could swiftly attack the Reich.

Thsi agreement lasted throughout World War II and the Soviets were continually persuaded not to close Poland into the Iron Curtian through bribes and the fact the Crims were doing more than 'keeping the Poles weak'. They were fighting a civil war. As the Cold War settled in for a long stay, the Crims were on their way to victory, capturing city after city. But they did not work fast.

It was fourty years until the war was drawing to a close. Fourty long, bloody years. But finally the Poles had their backs to the Iron Curtain, forced to flee across into Czekloslovokia, much to the Soviets delight. What wasn't to their delight was when the Crims, who controled Poland at that point, swarmed the border and took over Czekloslovokia, freeing them from the rule of the Soviets.

They were soon after recognized as a nation and changed the name from Poland and Czekloslovokia to Crimmond. Under the rule of the First Emperor, Valimir Saratov I(who was indeed a Soviet defector), the nation flourished and had no great fear of the Soviets, who were going broke while the imports and exports from the lands of Crimmond made it grow beautifully.

-----

The Era of Blood came next. General Andrew IV, a war hero and confidant of the Emperor seized power and had the Emperor exucted at the same time, declaring military rule and subjegating the people as the Soviets had, but with the economic foresight to see that a capitalistic future was best.

Soon, High Commander Andrew IV was among the nations of Midnight. Fighting under the alliance the Empire forged ties with nations that last to this day with Steel Butterfly and Sigma Octavius. Soon, the nation involved in World War V, commiting small amounts of troops to the fight. The Empire made no significant impact on the war.

Undetered by the Empire's relative weakness, the High Commander joined two alliances that would one day become foes. The WMNK and the GDODAD. The fighting done under both banners built Crimmond's repuation of brutality in war. Soon Crimmond sided with teh GDODAD exclusivly, becoming an 'enforcer' for the alliance, fighting several wars against the remaining Soviet forces and The Reich.

After years of service, teh Hig Commander was only a few rungs from a Council of Military Aggression seat and would help shape the future of the alliance. But a seemingly small event, an unsuccesfull attack on the Underwater Bubble, signalled the war of attricion on the GDODAD. Andrew IV cut his losses and took his name from the charter. He made enemies that day of many GDODAD members, but many didn't survive to ever seek revenge.

Nor could they seek it. Six short months later, the High Commander was found in his office babbling to himself and stabbing himself in the head with a hotdog. He was immediatly relieved of his position as ruler and Reil Tian took his place.

This caused General Davion Varchak, who was promised the seat of power, to split half the military to his cause and invade the areas known as Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Kaliningrad and Belarus, founding Baggera. The two nations stayed in cold war for decades.

[OOC: Allright... this is where things get screwy. At this point, Crimmond moves offworld. Then back. I ignored all of that, so any who remember it... well, say you just met fleets, not that Crimmond was in space.]

The Era of Peace is predominated by technological growth, despite being isolationists. After the bloodbaths of the past, the Reil and his sister Lara Tian fight wars for freedom. At home, civil freedoms are given and the Senate is reformed.

FTL travel is made possible and Crimmond spread to the galaxy, exploring it and making short term allies(mostly because the Navy regularly stole technology from allies) and many enemies of pirate cartels. After many years and several strange occurances, including the supposed death of both Tians and the rise of a supposedly undead assassin to the throne, the fleets are stripped of FTL capability and downsized.

The Era of Peace ends in dramatic fashion, first with a terrorist attack on the industrial center of the nation that allows Lara Tian to be captured and held prisoner while the world thinks her dead and then, months later, with the sudden shooting death of Reil Tian as he spoke to Jai Resi on a video phone.

The Era of Darkness is the most aptly named so far. Agent Delta rose to the throne, using the shadowy power of the Black Staff, Crimmond's Intelligence Service, to control the people. He made many alliances that shocked the people, the most shocking one being the still standing alliance with Damien Dreadfire, who was still considered hostile from the days of the WMNK.

Baggera was also conquered, when the leadership vanished from the nation. It was a bloodless war, really, until the detonation of nuclear devices in Kiev.

But soon after the pacification of Baggera, Dreadfire came to Administrator Delta with accusations of treachery. Someone had framed the Administrator with trying to have Damien's son killed. This enraged Delta, who joined with Damien to war against his own government that had tried to ruin him. A short and bloody war ensued, ending in what was Baggera in a glorius battle with the remnents of the Black Staff facing the Imperial Marines.

Delta fought with his troops in that battle and was shot in the back by a seemingly dead Black Staff soldier. The bullet killed him, but he didn't seem to care. His last words were to a man of faith, instructing him to tell Damien that he was going to the Vault of Souls to rest. It's widely believed he was suffering delusions caused by shock and bloodloss at the time, though.

The Era of Darkness continues with the rise of Davion Varchak, who faked his death eleven years eariler. At his side was Riok ORan, who succeeded him in Baggera before it's fall. The Overlord of Crimmond continued his alliance with Damien and allied with the Warlord's allies as well, in a place called Gholgoth. He also reopened ties with the GDODAD, now half of an alliance called Metus(the other being Arda) and considers itself an affiliate member of Metus.

Shutting the timeline, the man looked at the tomes, which recorded the history in extreme detail, then smiled. He had no doubt more tomes would fill that shelf.
