Alright everyone, I've kinda grown tired of RPing a nation called Santa Barbara. It's just lost the magic it once had, the allure. I've been stringing along plotlines based on characters I've had ever since starting to RP here sometime in 03. It's time to finally end them all, as well as the nation as it's currently known.

First though, what this isn't:

1. I'm not leaving NS
2. I won't let the NS die out (its too fun to pwn teh rankings :p)
3. I'm not gonna have it disappear from the RP'd reality like magic

Instead, theres the options on the polls. After this end, I won't post as SB in this forum (and probably won't RP in the NS forums much or at all), but what happens as far as everyone else is concerned - allies, enemies, corporate greeders who've RP'd with me here - is still up in the air. What do you think?

I don't want to just "give" it all to one player to puppetwank with. And I may want to RP an individual or spin-off of the nation from time to time. Other than that... who knows eh? Meh.

We-e-e-e-l-l I happen to have a rather large asteroid filled with fusion reactors orbiting the sun right now that can be used to 'remove' Santa Barbara. That's not what its original purpose is, but Midlonia and ZMI have taken it upon themselves to destroy it and thus set back my schedule for rescinding the Vendetta by another few weeks. Assuming the whole expedition goes south I can have the Rock thrown at your nation while simotaneously starting a run-away chain reaction in all the generators. Of course that would probably destroy a good portion of the Earth, which I don't want to do.

Another idea is that Skeelzania can license out a Santa Barbara corporation (if you have them) to produce fuel for my trade ships. Sounds innocous, but considering the amount of anti-SKZ sentiment right now I think it would get your nation annihilated quite handily, and all you'd have to post was your cities being vaporized. Assuming you want the bulk of your nation obliterated that is. And if you do accept and you don't get smashed, all the better for me.

Actually I prefer this one to my last idea.

A massive nuclear holocaust. Or maybe get bombed into history by some uber-powerful alien race.

I intend to buy SB wholesale of course! And off the used nations rack at that! I'm quite sure I won't be the only one either. Although, you will be greatly missed, SB. I do have one question, if the Tyranids are kicked out of Noachia can I still use "SB officials" to set up a new nation?

Just do a whole bunch of them. Have your nation be invaded by aliens. They bring a plague that destroys most of your people. Those that aren't destroyed are genetically ruined. Then another nation will declare war on you based on your people's horrible genes. Then others come in. They all send a bunch of nukes on you. To top it all off a large asteroid with reactors on top of it come crashing into your nation setting off a chain reaction resulting in the nuclear meltdown and destruction of your nation.

A war would be interesting...and we could definately make it work given our Order ties...

Santa Barbra would be quartined, and simply slip quietly away in the night. A fitting end in my opinion.

Yessssssss, genetically mutated viral infections spread throughout Santa Barbara..... One day, everyone will wake up dead, yes, DEAD! Billions of zombies roving across the land in search of fresh victims to infect with the deadly SB-Nochia virus, which is (of course) cross contaminatable with elves due to the "unique" research that has been going on. So now make that immortal zombie elves spewing forth from that rotten corpse of a nation. And I, Sketch, will do nothing about it as long as my shares of MGH keeping increasing in value.....

We are just going to LBO the soft juicy companies of the dying corpse of a nation that is Santa Barbra like Hannibal Lecter with a wine celler full of chianti and a crock pot full of fava beans.

I'd like to think that some form of Santa Barbara will be able to live on in one form or another. You've put a lot of work into your nation and are quite creative. Maybe it can inspire you into new directions which aren't necessarily related to NS roleplay. I think it's always good to have a harmless creative outlet somewhere.

'Other.' Santa Barbara will be cancelled halfway through a season, moved to a different timeslot, cancelled again, restarted and then have it's budget halved. It will end up called 'Commando!' or 'Soldier' or some other bullshit, and will be played by Hulk Hogan and Mario Van Peebles and laughed at by drunken teenagers who are for some reason watching TV at two in the morning.

So it is written, so it shall pass.

Santa Barbara could become the victim of an anti-life crusade by insane religious zealots of the Cult Mechanicus (the official religion of Akaton). I can see it now, the whole country being converted into a complex of eternally burning furnaces fueled by the corpses of Santa Barbara's former citizens, the sun blotted out by clouds of their ashes. It's so beautiful it almost brings a tear to my eye.

Also I must profoundly apologise for neglecting your thread. I like it a lot, but it is just too much to keep up with atm. :/

Mars has two settings; "calm" and "viscious territorial conflict". Good luck with that.

Foreign corporate dominion is already going on actually, so thats likely to stay. So far the alien fungus and genetic plague got more votes... and they are actually already going on too. Nukes came close though, and I haven't had any nukes ever since Whang flew an ICBM at me and it esploded offshore back in the pre-GDODAD days. (Well, pre- for me, when I was anti-)

Anyway some form will live on, but "Santa Barbara" will just be a geographic term and not referring to any official government, nation or conglomerate.
