The first trimester, the new town of Tsunami, someday to be the capital of Jurai...

Katrina Riamus Masaki, widow of the late Daniel Alexander Masaki, felt funny early today. In fact, she felt nauseous, and soon promptly ran for it, tossing last night's dinner into the toilet. She washed her face, feeling miserable. On top of the morning sickness, she also had the feeling that she was missing her period, and was increasingly hungry every day. Not to mention her mood swings. One minute she's happy-go-lucky, the next minute she's raving mad, and everyone had to get out of her way or risk getting beaned with a thrown object!

Sakura Harano, her best friend was passing by. She's a pink haired medical-nin, meaning she's trained under Hokage Tsunade as a medic in and out of battle. "Is there something wrong, Katrina?"

"Just morning sickness." The brown haired young woman replied. "Nothing serious."

"Uh huh. Really." Sakura wasn't believing it for one second. She went through all the possibilities in her mind, one good, some not. "Talk to me, girl. What else is going on?"

"I think I've missed my period recently." Katrina groaned. "Something's not right."

Bingo. Now for the test.

"I think I'll need to test you."

Alarm started to grow on Kat's face. "Is something wrong?"

Sakura quickly shook her head. "If what I think is true, no. Come with me."

A half-hour later...

Sakura grinned as the test was correct. "Katrina, let me be the first to say...you're pregnant!"

"What?" Katrina's eyes grew wide. "Pregnant?"

Sakura nodded, smiling. "Yes! You're going to have a child!"

A sudden shriek of happiness shattered the windows of the new house the Masakis built just for themselves. The Masaki Twins, Taylor and Jacob came running, grumbling about how they'll need to fix the windows, but worried that something might be wrong. Also coming in was Jacen Masaki, their cousin. Brandon and Keith were at grade school.

"Is something wrong?" Jacob asked first, noticing that Katrina and Sakura were embracing, crying happily.

"No, Jacob, no. Everything's going to be all right. I'm going to have a baby! Oh, I wish Daniel was here!" Katrina cried. The twins dropped their jaws and nearly face-faulted in shock.

"I'm going to be an uncle!" Taylor cried. T_T

"So am I!" Jacob also cried. T_T

"I'm going have a new cousin!" Jacen cheered.

There was much rejoicing over the next few days as everyone possible were contacted, from Grandfather Masaki, to Naruto, to couriers sent off to faraway Empress Tamithia. Allies were contacted as well to celebrate the news. Oh, Daniel Masaki, thou fallen hero! Were that you were here to see the coming of your child!

There would be much to do over the next months...much to prepare for the child...

The Second Trimester...

Much has been accomplished already, and much still needs to be done. Jacob has built in a new room for the baby, complete with crib and drawers. Duck wallpaper lines the wall of the room while a toy chest made of oak sent by Empress Tamithia is being sorted by the noticably larger Katrina, moved around by Naruto and Taylor.

"Over to the left...no...just a little to the right...uh....a little more back...ok, that's good." Katrina smiled and the guys set down the chest.

Katrina has decided to keep the sex of the child a surprise when she went to the doctors to get checkups and ultrasound pictures of him, but she suspected, considering that most of the Masakis were male, that it would be a boy as well. If it turned out to be a girl, it wouldn't matter, but Grandfather Alex have noted that the unborn child is strong in the Force. Katrina didn't really like her child growing up to risk his life as a Jedi, but she knew that the influence of family would be strong. Besides, the child is also Daniel's and the legacy of the father would befall on the child, so it would be likely that as the father was, so will the son be.

The Third Trimester...

Katrina was getting more excited every day. It was now just a couple of weeks before the expected birth of the child. She often complained about how ugly and fat she looked, like many expecting mothers do, but no one cared about her looks because they know she's beautiful anyway. Occasionally a wish that Daniel was around was made, but he wasn't, just watching from whereever he went.

Everything was ready for the baby. From diapers to toys to formula, to getting a good hospital, it was a busy final weeks leading up to the actual birth. Everyone was making sure that Katrina was comfortable, eating well, sleeping well, and generally being kept healthy for mother and child. Soon enough, the time comes...

Nine months after conception...

One day, at 5:00pm, it began. It began when Katrina's water broke, although dull prelabor contractions were occuring all day, letting the family know that this was the day. But of the hour, no one knows yet...until now.

"Oh no..." Katrina moaned as she felt the water break. Sakura was right by her. "Did it happen?"

Kat nodded quickly, then felt pain rippling through her body. The first contraction! "Oh, oh! It's time!"

Sakura immediately went into action. "All right! Remember your breathing! Can you still walk?"

"Uhh...ow...Yeah."

"All right. Let's get you comfortable..." Sakura said. "Taylor, Jacob, it's time!"

For the next hour or so with the contractions going, they made Katrina comfortable, as she walked around a bit, rocking her almost-there child, preparing the boy for the time that he will enter the world. Slowly, but surely, the contractions went from infrequent to frequent, signaling the time is ripe to head to the hospital. Taylor commed the doctors and an ambulance soon arrived, taking her to the hospital, where she was then taken to one of the inducing rooms. The family pediatrician, Dr. Marcoh was on hand, completed the scrubbing and headed into the room.

"It's nearly ready?"

"Yeah, it is." Katrina replied, focused on the process. Then the final stage drew near, complete with regular contractions now. In the meantime, Jacob was holofilming the whole process while Taylor and Sakura were on hand to help deliver.

"Ok, let's do this..." The doctor said, and then, the final stage began...

"Push! Push!" Dr. Marcoh said, seeing the baby almost come out. "I see the head!"

Katrina groaned in some pain and gritted her teeth as she pushed the baby out, the now Uncle Taylor holding her hand as the baby popped out and began to cry, taking its first breath of fresh air. Dr. Marcoh smiled, loving to do this every time and wrapped a blanket around the boy, for it indeed is a boy. "Congratulations, Mrs. Masaki. You have a newborn son!"

"Ohhh! Let me hold him." The Dr. passed the baby to her, and she used the time after the placenta went out to cuddle and coo to the crying child. The tiny boy soon calmed and began to suckle.

"So what's his name?" Jacob asked.

"*sniff* The hour before he left, Daniel said that if we had a boy, he would be named Travis. I preferred Samuel. We compromised and made Travis his first name and Samuel his middle name."

"Travis Samuel Masaki...has a nice ring to it." Taylor thought aloud.

"Yes, yes it is. Welcome to the galaxy, Travis Samuel Masaki." Katrina cooed to her child.

Thus begins another chapter in the Masaki Family. Son of a powerful Knight and a strong Dragonrider, nephew to Jedi Knights, godson to a powerful Jounin shinobi, great-grandson of a Jedi Master, Travis Masaki will have many teachers to help him on his own path to Knighthood. The boy will have many adventures and many dangers before him, but he would have a powerful family to support and protect him, and a most powerful father to watch over him from the other side. Indeed, the boy will grow strong and have a great destiny before him: to carry on a great legacy...as the next generation of Jedi Knights.
