ooc: This is a completely open RP, however it would be good if you could read the ooc/information thread at http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?p=8765827.

“Now don’t you worry,” The man cooed sweetly as he finished drawing the shades on the van’s windows. “I’ll show you those puppies real soon, just like I promised.” He spoke to the little girl gagged and tied to a chair in the back of the van. He turned and began to advance on her. “There’s just something I’d like to do together first.”
A little later, the rusty van pulled around behind an Atrox City Pound. The man carried a limp form inside. He held her for a moment, allowing his eyes to taste her soft body one last time. He smiled, another successful kill. They had all been so easy... except one. The man’s eyes narrowed at the thought of the damned Mystic child that had escaped him.
He tossed the girl into a cage and stepped back as the starved dogs fell upon her.
“Enjoy the puppies, dear.”

Rebecca looked in her bag one more time.
“Yes, mom, I’ve got the ticket and the letter.”
“Are you sure you’ll be okay by yourself?” Her mother, a slightly overweight woman with short black hair and pale blue eyes, worriedly soothed Rebecca’s hair. “You remember how dangerous Atrox City is.”
“Mom, I’m not just some little girl. I can take care of myself.” Rebecca’s expression soften when she saw how her comment only deepened the lines of worry in her mother’s face. “I promise I’ll be careful.” Rebecca had the same pale eyes, but was her mother’s opposite in nearly everything else. Her dark hair was long and pulled back into a ponytail and her form was much more athletic. With a final goodbye to her mother, Rebecca entered the airport. She headed strait for the Enforcers Squad desk and showed the woman at the counter her letter.
“Ah,” The woman smiled and turned to a young man behind her. “Would you please help this young lady to her flight, Ryan?”
Ryan was friendly, as were all the Enforcer Squads men and women. People skills were a huge part of their training. The first thing Ryan did was shake Rebecca’s hand and introduce himself. Then he took Rebecca though the airport, bypassing the security check points. As they walked, Ryan began to question Rebecca.
“How old are you?”
“Seventeen, but my birthday’s in a couple months.”
“Have you had any experience with Atrox City before?”
“I lived there until I was eight. Does that count?”
Ryan caught the sarcasm and smiled. “Do you have everything?”
“Well, I’ve got my ticket and my letter right here.”
“That’s not what I meant. I meant-”
“I know what you meant.” Rebecca shook her head. “But if I didn’t have that, I wouldn’t need to bypass security, would I?”
Ryan only stopped and turned to her. “Be serious now. You need to hang onto that thing with your life. Especially if you haven’t mastered boomeranging.”
“Well now, listen to you. ‘Boomeranging?’ You’re talking like a real Mystic.”
“I only know what I’ve been taught. This is your terminal. Your flight leaves in just over an hour.” With a quick goodbye, Ryan was gone leaving Rebecca in the waiting lounge alone. There was a cat-call from behind her as she made her way to a seat by herself. She looked over the others waiting for this flight. Most of their faces were grim. It wasn’t surprising, no one went to Atrox City without a reason and the reason was rarely pleasant.
ooc: So that’s it. This is completely open, though I would suggest you either RP your characters also waiting for this flight or already in the city.

''Hello.'' The girl said to Ryan. ''Are you waiting for the flight too?'' she asked. ''I am Princess Ruth and this is my brother,Prince John.'' she said.
OOC-Is this right?

ooc: Well... You got the 'ooc' part right. But you don't need or want to open each post by quoting the last post. In fact, if you could edit your last post and delet the quote, that would be great. You also might want to put a little more into your posts... like a discription of your characters. Speaking of which, what are Ruth and John's ages? Oh, and Rebecca's the character I'm using, not Ryan.
IC:
Ryan smiled at the girl and her brother.
"Actually, I'm not waiting for the flight. I work here. The waiting area for your flight is right over here, though." After pointing out the waiting area to them, Ryan disapeared down a hallway.

Donnie Perol was waiting to board his flight to Atrox City. He was 25, not long out of college and not long into a job. He worked as a D Corp Connection Officer. That officially meant he scouted out new technology in other countries. Unofficially, sometimes he retrieved them.
"Boarding pass and ID please?" The Airline workerasked. He flashed His D Corp Officer Badge. She let him through. His Job let him access anything in D Corp, and almost anything in Dancing Penguin. He thought of the info he was bringing back, and smiled.
OOC - I don't think I need to explain who these characters are; you'll find out through reading.
IC:
Doran's eyes widened as he glanced at the computer screen. His operative in [ooc: Name of airport DP please?] had just sent him the information. Target A was boarding the next flight to Atrox City and there was no time to lose.
"Leris." Doran's dark grey eyes swept to a door and he spoke in a gruff voice. His lieutenant entered and saluted at once.
"Target A's on the next flight comin' in," he continued. "I've got a job for you."
"What's the job sir?"
"Your usual. Contact Spassov and give him this. He knows what to do. Tell him it's Target A." Doran handed Leris an envelope. "I hope can trust you."
"You can, sir, don't worry." The lieutenant accepted the envelope.
"Spassov. And remember, it's essential."
"Yes, sir," said Lieutenant Leris.
----------------
Outside of his superior's office, Leris opened the unsealed envelope and looked inside at the thousand-[ooc: currency] bills folded neatly inside. Then he sealed the envelope once more and prepared to find Spassov. Bribery, at least, always worked.
[OOC: Yes, they are in the Atrox police force.]

Rebecca turned her head away from the window in time to catch the entrance of a young man into the terminal. He was putting something back into his pocket. She smiled to himself, it looked like a badge of some kind.
Well now, looks like you're traveling with someone important. The voice caught Rebecca completely by surprise. She quickly recovered from the shock, closing her eyes to enter the meditation that would allow her to answer the spirit.
I just hope he's not too important. This flight is to Atrox, after all. Importance could be a death wish.
ooc: I'm putting some info on Mystics in Dancing Penguin on the info thread.

As Kiley Nessa walked through the airport people seemed to go out of their way to avoid her. Perhaps it was the scars on her face, perhaps it was the eyepatch, but she was willing to bet it had something to do Darby. As she walked along Darby flicked his tail, and darted his eyes back and forth.
Kiley stepped up to the terminal and took a seat, her panther jumping up into the seat next to her. She scratched his head and cooed at the large cat, "Your such a good kitty." The large cat streched his body across her lap.

Donnie felt the gun in his jacket. He had never been attacked, at least not yet. But he knew just how much people were willing to do to get their hands on some of the things he brought back. He hoped that no one knew what he had been looking at in the company he had visited outside Dancing Penguin, and if they did, he had his gun.
Artur Spassov was a short, bald man, who wore glasses and a malevolent look. He was also one of the Atrox City Police's best spies in D Corp. (OOC: who no one in D Corp. actually knows about). He stepped into Doran's private office, accompanied by Lt. Leris, who stepped back discreetly and closed the door as Spassov glared at Doran.
"Well?" said the Police Superintendent.
"You asked for me, Eljar." Spassov's voice was cold.
"Yes, I did." Doran smirked. "You know what I want you to do."
"Eliminate the aircraft," said Spassov. "But why?"
"I told you, Target A is on board."
"Target A?"
"You know who I mean. Or was the amount not large enough?" Doran rummaged in his pocket for another thousand-shvork bill.
"It was plentiful, Superintendent. But I'm not sure I want to eliminate a whole aircraft just for the sake of one target." Spassov grinned humorlessly.
"Then kill him on landing! Do whatever you need to. Eliminate Target A! And begone!" Doran yelled, startling Spassov. The spy retreated into the open door and tripped over the step, cannoning into the Lieutenant. Doran pressed a button impatiently and the door slid shut. He sighed, and began to make preparations himself. He had never known Spassov to disobey his orders, but there was always a first time.

Kiley kept her left hand resting on Darby, scratching his head. She reached up with her right one and started massaging her temple, and resting her elbow in the arm rest. After several seconds she put her her finger at the top of a long narrow scar that was near her temple. She slowly ran her finger down the scar, bringing a stop to her finger at her cheek bone. She started rubbing a strand of black hair that had been hanging near her finger, between her thumb and forefinger. She streched out her thumb and forefinger, bringing her head to a rest on them, the thumb near her cheek bone. She closed her eye, and waited for the plane to arrive.

Arthas Scipius and Alex Rossi walked into the terminal with a brisk pace. They were on official business for the Stenov family, who Alex was grandson of the current don. The mission, scouting, and possible setting up of a new branch of the criminal empire. Arthas had a calmed expression on his face, his hair neatly set to the sides, it's black a stark contrast to his skin tone, or lack of, his stormcloud eyes darting about routinely. Alex, on the other hand, had music blaring in his ears, "Psychotic Reaction" - Deep Purple, the headphones running through his short, curly brown hair. Eyelids almost the same color as his hair covered his green eyes as he had a light headbang going. Arthas went over to the customer service desk, needing to renew his and Alex's gun permits for plane rides. Alex went and took a seat next to a girl with a panther in her lap. He turned down the volume on the headphones "Why now, a nice kitten here all alone at the airport. Where is she and her panther going off to?"

Alex had a surprised look on his face, slightly shaking occasionally in pain. He tried nodding in acknowledgement, but it hurt to do that too, so long as she had a grip on him. Arthas got the paperwork and began heading back to where Alex was sitting before spotting what was happening. He quickly walked over, it was obvious he was with Alex as he was dressed in the same, stereotypical black suit, the only difference in wardrobe was Arthas' less flashier tie, lack of necklace and boots instead of loafers. "Excuse me ma'am" He said in his usual unamused, nonexpressive tone "Is my associate here bothering you?"

"Oh, well, excuse us for a moment." He feigned a smile, really badly. It was obvious he wasn't experienced with that. Alex got up a bit confused, walking over just out of earshot. They seemed to be talking for a bit, Arthas a bit angered and Alex a bit defensive. Arthas' hand came up and slapped the side of Alex's head. There was a bit of more calmed conversation before Alex walked off for the terminal restaurant. Arthas walked over and sat in the same spot that Alex had. "I'm sorry about that, ma'am. My associate thinks he has a way with ladies, but the only way he has is getting his ass kicked by them."

"Really?" Arthas' eyebrow went up, as deliberate as reactionary. "That is where we are heading too. Business purposes, or at least for me. Alex, he always goes screwing up." He turned and slowly stuck out his hand, obviously a bit nervous with this conversation. He always had troubles when dealing with girls, but this one already had an angered opinion towards Alex, at the least. "My name is Arthas Scipius."

She took her hand back and slowly brought it back to Derby's paw. She started rubbing his paws.

Atrox City
Kryde sat on a bench in the mall, watching the passing children behind the darkness of his sunglasses. He ran a hand back through his vividly red hair and tried to looked disinterested whenever the child's parents turned to him. Finding no victims to his pleasure, he stood and began to pace the many floors of the mall. While passing a television store, he heard something that perked his interest:
...And it is believed that this is the seventh victim of the child rapist which Atrox City police claimed they captured...
Kryde smiled thinly and stopped to watch the coverage of his handiwork. Suddenly, the camera turned away from the reporter to film an approaching vehicle.
...Well now, it looks like a black car is pulling into the crime scene. The police don't seem happy to see it. I think we know what that means...
Kryde's eyes narrowed and he spoke the name in the demon tongue as the reporter said it in English:
"Bro Thyuoz Kzafojb"
...The Slayer Project...
-----------------------------------------
The Crime Scene
As the car came to a stop, a man of medium build with hazel eyes and graying brown hair pulled himself from the driver's side. Without hesitation, the man stormed up the chief, who seemed less than thrilled at his arrival. It was the man who spoke first.
"I thought you had this guy!" The man, Agent Mark Jennison, seemed to radiate an angry heat. The other officers stopped what they had been doing to watch the confrontation.
"What? No hello, Mr. Jennison?" The chief's look was one of utter contempt.
"You're just lucky my 'hello' doesn't involve me sticking my boot straight up your-" The other occupant of the car shut the door behind her. She looked young, much younger than an agent should. Her short black hair was even darker than the sunglasses she wore.
"Well, who's this?" The chief's eyes lit with glee. "They got you baby-sitting?" There was a cat-call from one of the gathered officers.
"I told you not to wear those sunglasses, Jezebel." Agent Jennison put his hand on the girl's shoulder. Reluctantly, she pulled off the shades, revealing a pair of brilliantly violet eyes. The girl stuck out her hand to the police chief.
"Agent Jezebel, sir."
"Well, I heard that The Slayer Project was having trouble finding recruits." The chief eyed Jezebel with disgust. "But I had no idea you'd sink so low as too employ half-blooded-"
"Full-blooded, sir," Jezebel interjected.
"Whatever." The chief spat and muttered, "Damned Hellspawn." At that, Jezebel started to lunge forward but was stopped by Jennison tightening his hold on her shoulder.
"Jezebel," He warned.
"Nehbru giw-pybresq keq!" Jezebel half hissed, half spat the insult.
"Well, Mr. Jennison, I think your little pet needs a muzzle." The chief turned and walked off, smiling to himself. Jezebel spun to face Jennison, molten fury surging in her eyes.
"Did you hear him? He called me Hellsp-"
"And you called him..." Jennison waited for an answer, but got none. He was almost disappointed, having absolutely no idea what the girl had said. After a few moments of nothing, he spoke again. "Jezebel? 'Keq' means 'pig,' doesn't it?"
"Yeah."
"I thought so." And the corners of Jennison's mouth twitched in the smallest of smiles.

At The Terminal
Attention passengers: Air Atrox, flight 666- sorry folks, couldn't resist.
The PA system pulled Rebecca out of her dreamy state. She noticed more than a few smirks at the announcer's joke; all of them on the faces of employes
"At least someone can have a sense of humor about this..."
Excuse me, Air Atrox flight 503 has arrived at gate 4A. Boarding will begin in twenty minutes.
It was then that Rebecca noticed the panther and the scarred woman attached to it.
"Only on a flight to Atrox," She said, a little louder than she intended.
Arthaga Nova
30-04-2005, 05:00
"Indeed." Alex simply replied to Rebecca, holding a small shot of whiskey. He was standing in the lounge, and had just noticed the girl sitting there. "Mind if I...?" He gestured to a chair across from her.

When the Rebecca said the comment, she made a quick movement of her hand to her left shoulder. She fumbled for a second and seemed to be lacking something. She slowly brought her hand in front of her face and lightly tapped her fingers on the bridge of her nose. She reached into her bag and pulled out a beat up green spiral bound notebook, which the tickets had been stuffed into. She opened the notebook to a random page. Scratchy handwriting could be made out. Only a phrase or two could be made out by anyone just looking over her shoulder, but the title of the page read "movement, skin, and fire." She thumbed through a few pages before coming to her tickets. She pulled them out and closed the notebook. She stuffed it back into her bag and sat down, waiting for her seat numbers to be called.

Rebecca, having completely missed the incident with Kiley earlied, just shrugged.
"Sure, why not?" She watched Kiley for a few moments before returning her attention to Alex. "I wonder if her panther's friendly... There's something I never thought I'd get to say."

Arthas noticed the odd line in the notebook. He stood up and sighed, looking over his shoulder. "Wonder if that kid is going to show up with my bags..." He muttered to himself as a crashing noise was heard around the corner and a young, nervous looking man pushing a cart that went up on two wheels as he swerved. He pulled right up to Arthas and stopped. "Mr. Scipius, sir. Here's your bags." Arthas looked at the kid and sighed, looking at his watch. "Meh, 11 seconds over the bet, but I did park a bit far out." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small roll of bills, handing it to the kid and pulling for identical suitcases off the cart. He took one in each hand and the remaining two he set on the ground for a moment. He turned to Kiley and asked in a shy tone "So... what seat on the plane do you have?"
Alex sat down in the chair across from Rebecca and chuckled, replying "Well, the girl is porbably meaner than the panther, and that is something I'd never thought I'd say..." He took another sip and smiled "...again." He stood up "I'll be right back, gotta go grab my suitcase." He walked out into the main terminal room.
Arthas saw Alex coming out the door. He lightly tapped the two suitcases with his foot, causing them to fall flat on the ground before he slid them both over towards their owner. He
Alex was still looking back at Rebecca, a bit attracted to her. So much, to a point where he didn't see the two suitcases crash into his feet as he walked, causing him to fall flat forward. He got up and looked back to Rebecca, slightly blushing, a goofy, comical smile on his face as he sat back down across from her with the cases. "Now who left those there?" He said sarcastically.

"My seat is A1, and his seat is A2," she said coldly. She rolled her head on her shoulders, producing several loud cracks. After taking off her black jacket, it was revealed that she was wearing a plain brown shortsleeved T-shirt, atop of her MARPAT fatigue trousers. Her arms had strangly shaped scars running all along them. On her left shoulder was a small pouch, that was dissapointingly empty. As she was stuffing her jacket in her bag, a flash of something shiny could be seen. She quickly zipped up her bag.

Arthas nodded briefly after her explanation, even though he really didn't believe her. Flourescent lights couldn't be that blinding. "Ma'am... are you alright?" He asked, noticing what appeared to be twitching. "They got some pills you can have to calm your nerves, and I guess I'll leave you alone on the plane, to not stress you." He thought for a moment, trying to think of something to add that would make him sound less kiss-ass "And... Alex has seat J7, so don't worry about him getting you pissed."
ooc: I need to RP a couple cops, Czardas, I hope you don't mind.OOC: DP, you can RP as many cops as you need to, but leave Atrox City Superintendent Doran to me.
IC:
Doran paced his office like a caged panther [ooc: simile intended]. Indeed, he much resembled some primeval, ferocious jungle cat, with his deep-set eyes, bushy eyebrows, and dark receding hair streaked with grey. At times, to add to the impression, he growled imprecations at Spassov.
The door slid open and Lieutenant Leris stepped in hesitantly.
"Superintendent?"
"Whaddaya want?" Doran whirled on the hapless lieutenant, who cowered against the door as it slid shut behind him.
"Just reporting that the plane has left."
"Good," growled Doran. "But that isn't the only reason you came here, is it."
"Well...sir...if you'd permit it, I have a que-" Leris was hesitant.
"Spit it out." Doran glared at his subordinate.
"Why are you so eager to get rid of Target A?"
"You know as well as I do that Target A contains information we cannot let get to the Enforcers Squad."
"And besides that?"
"There's more to it than that. But you won't find out." Doran advanced a pace and the Lieutenant stepped back. "Get from my office. This is a Police HQ. We don't tolerate Nosy Parkers in here."
"But-- I was just ask-"
"Get out or get hurt!" Doran fairly screamed. The door slid open and Leris stumbled out with the Superintendent's curses raining down on his back.

Arthas nodded, almost smiling. He took the hint from the 'something else' and decided to not explore further then. "So, may I ask what do you do for work?" He was trying to make conversation, get to know the person he'd be somewhat next to for the next someodd hours.

"And always remember this... Mercenaries die. That's what we're here for. But The Mercenary State of Nation of Fortune lives forever. And that means you live forever.
"Heh. Honor my ass, NoF mercs are out wandering the world, I'd be surprised if you haven't seen at least a dozen in the past three weeks." she took the lighter back and lit her own cig.

At The Crime Scene
Jezebel and Agent Jennison walked briskly to the pound. As they approached, a pair of officers stepped from the building.
"That's disgusting," the first commented, glancing at Jezebel.
"Yeah, and the crime scene's pretty bad, too!" They exchanged high-fives as Jezebel gritted her teeth. Noticing this, Jennison took his hand from her shoulder.
"I'm going to call for a CSI unit." He began to walk back to the car. "I think you and these men need some getting aquatinted time."
"Don't forget to ask for an ambulance, too." Jezebel muttered after him as one of the officers turned back to make a rude motion with his hips. With a heavy sigh, Jezebel stepped through the doorway.
The sound of barking was absent, as Animal Control had removed the dogs earlier. Now a group of cops was gathered inside, joking and laughing. As soon as Jezebel entered, they went silent. One of them stepped up in front of her, blocking her way.
"Let me do my job." Jezebel didn't even bother disguising the frustration in her voice.
"Well, actually this is our job... but maybe we can work something out." The rest of cops laughed and stood, forming a circle around Jezebel and her tormenter. "How about we share this case with you," the man drew up close to Jezebel, reaching his hand around and grabbing her butt, "If you share some of this with-"
Jezebel struck with an open palm and the man could feel his ribs crack as the blow sent him sprawling back. Another officer started forward but was stopped by an elbow to his windpipe. Someone else went for his gun, only to have it wrenched from his grasp. Jezebel dealt one pistol-whip blow, sending a few teeth skyward, before chucking the weapon at another officer's groin. The officer instinctively bent over and Jezebel's foot caught him in the chin.
"You got some kick in you." Someone pulled a tazer from their belt. "Good, I like it when they squirm."
"Hey, make sure you leave some fight in her for me." The man with the tazer froze, feeling the cold pressure of a gun barrel on the back of his neck.
"You boys know she's sixteen." Agent Jennison's voice was flat. "That makes her a minor."
"We weren't' gonna do-"
"Shut up and get out. Now!" The cops scrambled out, dragging their comrades. There was a moment of silence as Jennison tried to form an apology.
"I still don't get why we're here." Anyone who didn't know her well would have sworn Jezebel was on the verge of tears. "I was told my first mission was to retrieve-"
"You're here for a couple reasons, the first being to get experience dealing with the Atrox PD." Jennison walked by Jezebel and ducked under the police tape barring one of the cages. "The second being to get an idea of what the guy we're after is capable of."
Jezebel followed Jennison as far as the tape, but was dumbfounded by what she saw. Blood spattered the wall and carpeted the cell with crimson. In the center of cage lay a body bag and within Jezebel could see the horribly mangled form of a young girl.
"Why's the body bag open?"
"Because they were taking pictures." Jezebel spun to see an officer she had missed sitting on a crate. He stood and walked over, offering his hand, "Officer McMullen." Jezebel's eyes lit up with recognition at the name.
"Oh! You were the informant in the dockside rapist case! When it turned out the rapist was-"
"The chief's son." Jennison had stepped back onto the other side of the tape. "Hello, Duncan, good to see you again. Listen, Jezebel and I need to meet a plane. You think you can keep the other cops out until our CSI arrives?"
"Sure." Officer McMullen nodded. "May I ask who's on the plane?"
"Oh, it's actually a witness for this case-" Jezebel piped up until Jennison grabbed her arm.
"Come on, Jezebel." Officer McMullen smiled as Agent Jennison practically dragged Jezebel out of the building muttering something in her ear. As they turned the corner he heard the girl exclaim:
“Come on, sir, he’s an informant! If we can’t trust him-”

From the shadows, Kryde also smiled.
A witness, eh? Sounds like the one that got away is coming back. Perhaps I should welcome her home...

Arthas picked up the suitcases, tossing the cigarette in the trash on his way past the can to the gate. The suitcases were light themselves and were packed lightly, a PPSch-41 in one case, some clothes, papers, money, and a bottle of wine in the other. Always pack lightly was his policy, because you never know when you'll find yourself to be a lanky doof running out of a hotel lobby with half a police force on your tail. Arthas was indeed a lanky doof, he had some muscle to his body, but not really. He was definatly not a strong person, but he was agile, which when using the sword he did, was alot more important. He smiled at the thought of the long, thin blade that rest at his side, the handle covered up by his suit jacket, the sheath built into the suit pants themselves.

"Oh dear heavens I'm late I'm late I'm late!" Came a voice shouting across the airport. A large man came waddling into the terminal and took a place right behind Kiley. He stepped up beside her, not noticing Darby and asked, "Is this the flight for Atlas city?"
Kiley said nothing.
The man asked again.
Kiley's face formed a frown, it was obvious if the unshowered blob next to her continued talking to her their is no way it would end pleasant for him.
"Well?" asked the man once more.
Kileys hand seemed to appear out of nowhere and grab the mans face. Her arm started to shake and ozone could be smelt, the sound of an electrical arc snapping was heard, and blue sparks could be seen emanating from her hand into the mans face. She thrust her arm downwards, throwing the now unconcious man to the ground, back first.

Arthas remained motionless, still amazed. A very respectful look was on his face.
Alex turned to Rebecca and whispered "I told you she wasn't a nice lady."
Lieutenant Leris looked up from his desk as another officer entered the second floor.
"What's up, Joe?" he asked as the man approached his desk.
"Not much. Next rape victim just came in, and one of Dory's prizefighters kicked the bucket." The nickname Dory, as Superintendent Doran was known among the lesser officers, was never used to the Superintendent's face if the user did not want to have his charred body impaled on a pole as a warning to others.
"Oh, that all? Which one?"
"A spy in D Corp. The ES got onto him and shot him." Joe's voice sounded as though such occurrences happened on a daily basis.
A call came through to Leris's desk, and he listened for a minute. "Joe, Dory wants you. He wants to know what operatives are meeting Target A."
"Operatives?" asked Joe.
"Right," said Leris. "I don't envy you. Go on up."
Joe, or Sergeant Tallin as he was officially known, stepped into an elevator and went up sixteen floors. He got out. Barring his way was the sliding door uncompromisingly marked "Police Superintendent Doran". Joe Tallin wondered if Doran had a first name at all. He suspected it was just "Superintendent". Many did.
The door slid open and Doran swiveled in his chair to face Tallin, "Sergeant Tallin?" He was calm and collected. Tallin wondered at Leris's reports of unbridled fury that Doran was well known for.
"Yes, that's me, sir."
"Don't be an idiot. I know it's you. Come in." The door slid ominously shut behind the Sergeant as he stepped in.
"What operatives do the ES and the Slayer Project have for the plane?"
"An agent...Jennison I think, and another named Jezebel," said Tallin uncertainly.
Keenly interested, Doran murmured, "Double agents are very useful. Are they there to meet Target A?"
"No, sir! Absolutely not. They're there for Target D, the witness in the rape cases." Tallin spoke with such certainty that his superior appeared surprised.
"Target D on the plane?" Doran stood violently. Tallin involuntarily took a step back.
"I don't know, sir, I only heard what---"
A flash that resembled blue electricity, and Doran's hands were crushing Tallin's throat, bending back his head so far that it seemed the vertebrae were about to snap.
"Answer me!" Doran roared. "Target D? Who is on the plane besides Target A and D?"
The world swam in front of Tallin's eyes and the pain hit him like fire. Doran's hands seemed to have metamorphed from those of flesh to steel. Tallin could barely answer; every sound he made hurt.
"There's....an NoF Special Operative...two Arthagans...Target D as I said...a private investigator...the ordinary passengers...a brother and sister royals." Tallin choked out.
Doran pushed the Sergeant back to the door. "Get Spassov. Tell him to cancel the detonation. Tell him to come here. And bring up Leopold." Doran cursed at the dazed subordinate lying stupidly on the floor.
"Go! We have no time. Get out of here!" Exerting his considerable strength, Doran lifted Tallin almost effortlessly and smashed him through the sliding doors as they opened hastily, sending him stumbling out of the office. Tallin, in a stupor, entered the elevator and somehow managed to get down to the second floor again, where he transmitted his request to Leris before collapsing in unconsciousness and being carted away discreetly by the paramedics.

"Damn, talk about girl power." Rebecca muttered as she began to step forward. She paused to take a look at the plane out the window. Long, black, Rebecca was disapointed, but not surprized. SkyRenders were the only kind of aircratf that could land in Atrox.

"Well, this type of plane is called a SkyRender." Rebecca squeezed into her seat by the window, tucking her bag under the seat in front of her. "You see, everything in Atrox was designed by D Corp. and the airport was placed close to their headquarters. This would have worked well, except that headquarters is on the water. The city had only one way to expand. Rather than move the airport back, D Corp. decided to move it up." She paused. "You really have to see it to believe it. But back to the plane: the raising of the airport meant the runways got shorter. Enter the SkyRender. This thing can take off with just over half the runway of a normal jet. Guess how it pulls that off?"
The plane taxied out to a runway and a flight attendant stood to start giving the safety talk. The pilot cut in:
These folks know what they're doing, Kelly. We're running a little behind and if we miss our landing time we could be up for days. The flight attendant sat back down as the seat belt sign came on. There was a growing roar as the engines warmed up. It was at this time anyone with wandering eyes might have noticed that the wings had two engines on them, one on top and one on the bottom. The one on the top, however, was facing the opposite direction.
The plane lurched forward and SHWOOM! went from zero to air in a matter of seconds. The color dropped from Rebecca's face.
ooc: For anyone who noticed: yes, Atrox City is a lot like Midgar from FF7. Oh, and don't worry about the G-force that take off should cause... please.

Kiley took the take off in stride. She never was fond of flying, but in this modern age it had become a necessity. After they had gotten in the air a little bit she pulled out the tattered green notebook, and openend it to a page that was titled "Valerie". She started reading it.
"Valerie was one of the earlier genetically modified special ops soldiers. Her modifications came right at the beginning of our ability to modify humans pre-birth. Her modifications were only intended to be the ability to regenerate her wounds and to have heightened senses of sight, hearing, and smell. Due to unforseen complications she recieved a small case of phsycosis, and (not verified) the ability to speak to animals. She went through normal training that every child in NoF recieves, but when it came to finishing school we were at a loss of what to put her in. As a result of this loss we put her through all the schools that would be concievably usefull at the time, Charm, Scout/Sniper, Martial Arts, Explosives, and Vehicles. Usually someone that went through all of these schools would not graduate until the advanced age of 18, but due to the unforeseen mental acuity of her, and the early age of two at which she entered training, she was able to graduate at the age of 14.
After she graduated she was adopted by the leader of the nation for a short period, until her hatred for family life got her sent to a boarding school. The events of her life surrounding this time period are long forgotten to all but her. What is known about this time period is that when we finally managed to track her down again she had adopted an abandoned cougar, setting the tradition for NoF soldiers to have an animal that supports them.
This period ushered in a new style of training for soldiers that would enter the Special Forces. Valerie started a new school, specifically meant for those that would follow her path, and thus the school of Special Forces was born. At first it was headed by her, but after several years the system was put up for review and changed, each individual student would be assigned to one and only one teacher, instead of a group of students to one teacher. This not only reduced the number of federally funded buildings that were normally needed to maintain these students, but also made the learning enviroment for students a much more focused one."
She turned the page and this one was the one she had opened up to earlier. She continued reading.

Arthas leaned back into his chair, relaxing a bit for once. He looked over briefly to Kiley, to ask her something, say something, probably useless though. But she was reading. From that notebook, the one with the page that was oddly titled.Arthas' hand reached for his pocket, to grab the glasses, the ones that were perfect for this situation. He read other people's things all the time, books, documents, secret plans, and due to the glasses, which bent light in such the perfect way, he could be about anywhere compared to them and still read what they had, so long as he put on the right pair. However, he couldn't bring himself to do it, an odd moment for him, considering he wanted to know more about this person who had a panther between her and himself. Maybe that's why he couldn't because he wanted to know about her. He sighed and momentarily braced for the rough takeoff, which it was. Once in the air, he ordered a glass of wine, which he insisted on picking himself from the plane. He sat back down and kept looking over to Derby, nervous.

"So, now that I've pretty much handed you my life, would you mind telling me whay you are traveling for?" Arthas asked, pouring another glass of the wine he hand picked and offering some to Kiley.

"All I know at this time is that I'm supposed to head to Atrox, further orders will be given when I arrive," she declined the offer of wine.

"Ah, must be something good then." He pulled out a small travel guide, flipping through hotels, occasionally counting the money in his wallet and getting discouraged. "So, who's your companion?" He pointed to Derby.
Nation of Fortune
03-05-2005, 04:28
"Thats Derby, most soldiers in NoF have an animal of somesort that assists in their journies." Derby lifted his head and smelled around a bit, before resuming his position on the floor.

Arthas nodded his head, looking down at Derby. He flipped through a couple more pages before pitching the book away "Ah shit." He cursed under his breath. He finally unfolded the piece of paper that he had been given "What's this?" He asked.

"Contact info for NoF, in case you want to hire them, but at this point it's kinda useless. Mainly cause I'm gonna get the job started, and you are going to become an operative. Don't be surprised if they want you to do something to prove your loyalty."
Arthaga Nova
03-05-2005, 04:42
"Alright." Arthas tucked the page into his pocket just in case. He pulled out his PDA and after looking to make sure there'd be no stewardesses to chew his butt for having an electronic device on, he powered it up and started looking for a van with a bed in back to rent. His mind though, was occupied by the thought of his new job, her last words '...something to prove your loyalty' played over a few times in his head.

"I guess your gonna need to know about NoF, so ask away, I have no clue where to start."

03-05-2005, 04:59
"Ok, but, before we begin, can I have a piece of scratch paper? I want to write something down." He waited a bit "Ok, so, how will I be assigned my job?"
Nation of Fortune
03-05-2005, 05:08
She rips a page from the back of the notebook and hands it to him. "You will be assigned your first job, the loyalty one, through me. Any job after that you will of course be living in NoF by that time, and the government will contact you when the need arises. anything else?"

"How are outsiders usually looked upon my other soldiers, what kind of welcoming will I have?" He began drawing two charts on the paper. He had a sarcasm to his voice at the second part of his question.
Nation of Fortune
03-05-2005, 05:18
"Most people in NoF are indifferent to outsiders, but don't expect a warm welcome, you will more than likely pass into the community unnoticed by most people."

03-05-2005, 05:23
"Perfect" Arthas said "Go in to my third life the same way I came in and left my first and second." After a moment, he asked in a sarcastic tone, looking down at the hotel guide as he drew another box in the diagram "When you get sent on missions, are you provided with enough supplies for shelter, transport supplies and food?" He was about done with the second diagram.
Nation of Fortune
03-05-2005, 05:27
"That depends entirely on the people who you are contracted for. Usually you are given the things you need but every once in a while you get people who can't afford it, so you must fend for yourself. Food is another matter, we were all trained how to fend for ourselves in the wild, so you might benefit from taking some training in tthat area. Weapons and ammo are usually supplied by the government, but if you want anything special you will have to find it for yourself."
Arthaga Nova
03-05-2005, 05:31
"Alright." Arthas finshed the diagrams by putting his name in to a box on each one. Handing it to Kiley "I don't know if this sill help, but the top diagram is the Rossi family tree.If you look, I appear as Alex's son... that is not an accident." He waited a moment "Shut up." He added jokingly. "On the bottom, the leadership cart, the whole heirarchy."

"That's quite alright then, ma'am. Although they do have people in many different nations. So, do you think my payments will be enough?" He asked, making sure. He was about to make a final agreement to it, and he wanted to be sure. "Both the empire and my service?"

ooc- Sorry for my absence. Donnie is sitting on Rebbeca's other side.
ooc: No, a window is on Rebecca's other side. Unless Donnie ie sitting is sitting outside :). Listen, my comp sucks and wont let me on the forum at home.
It was not Joe Tallin's first time on Communications, but it was the first time he had come across something important. He listened to the message coming across on his earphones, and then whistled softly to his friend Leris.
"Look here, Larry. We've got help."
"Help?" Leris leaned over towards the Sergeant.
"Yep. Looks like someone on the plane is not who they're pretending to be. Someone's a traitor to their cause and a helper to ours."
"We have a cause?" Leris said sarcastically. "I thought the police only investigated for one of two things, money or sex."
"This time it's money," confided Tallin. "Our friend in chains is paying millions of shvorks for us to eliminate Target D, the witness in the case against him."
"So what are you going to do?"
"Dory asked me to get Leopold, but I don't know where the heck he is." Tallin broke off as a new message came across on his headphones.
"I'm getting their convers," said Tallin presently. "There's a couple of Rossis, an NoF Spec Op, a D Corp. officer, and a few more who can't be terribly important."
"Which ones are which?"
"What do you mean?" Tallin stared steadily at the Lieutenant.
"Which one's Target A and which one's Target D?"
"I don't have the faintest idea. It's Dory's little comedy here."
"Comedy, huh," said Leris, remembering Superintendent Doran's outbursts of fury. He turned away as a team of police officers entered.
-----------
"Sergeant, we've got one." The officer in charge of the team called to Tallin.
"Good, bring him in." The group of police officers dragged a suspect, bound and beaten unconscious, behind them.
"In here." Tallin led the team through a passageway to a small interrogation room overlooking the street. He opened the door for the team and saw them stop and go rigid with horror at the entrance. Instinctively, Tallin turned to the room. Then he stiffened as well.
He let his eyes roam over the blood-spattered carpet, to the corpse of a young girl strewn with violet petals, to the shattered window which had obviously served as the means of entrance and egress for the rapist.
"Now that," he said aloud, "is cheek. Pure cheek."

Arthas lips pushed together in thought, consideration. His eyes fell down and his eyelids closed together for a moment. He looked up, a matter-of-fact look to match his matter-of-fact face "So, where do I sign up?"
Alex sat back down next to Rebecca, eyeing her with concern "Are you ok? Answer me." A calmed panic in his voice.
((OOC: Yeah, I'm a bit confused as well as to the major events happening. -Waits in the OOC/Info forum- Post for Rebecca soon too, please.))
It was an hour later and the Police Station had not yet recovered from the shock of finding the rapist's next victim inside the station itself. Tallin was shaking his head and muttering to himself. A CSI was photographing and collecting evidence with its usual efficiency, headed by Inspector Trent, one of Atrox City's most capable. How the rapist had managed to climb two stories with a tied-up girl with him was still a complete mystery, especially since he had done it unobserved from the outside. The interrogation room looked out on a fenced-off yard that held a group of police dogs. The dogs had not barked, for an obvious reason, as Tallin and Trent soon discovered. They had all been shot from above.
Trent rose from the dead body of one dog. "He really took a lot of precautions," he said. "These dogs were shot from more than 10 feet above. I'd say, from about that window there." Trent pointed to a second-story window on a building across from the police headquarters. It appeared to be an apartment building.
"Hmmm...That narrows the field, but it's still a mystery how he got from that building all the way over to the police station, sir," conceded Tallin.
"It looks like time for a full-scale investigation," said Trent. "I know the police hasn't been doing so well these days. No one trusts us and everyone thinks we're incompetent. But we're not so incompetent as to let a rape and murder happen inside our building."
"Yes, sir," said Tallin. When Trent got around to it, he was very decisive. But Tallin remembered something: looking on the carpet and seeing blood spattered everywhere. The victim had been stabbed three times. How could that cause so much blood to flow? One strike had burst the jugular vein, which created a pool of blood; the other two were to the heart. So then why was blood practically everywhere in the room?
"Inspector..." Tallin voiced his suspicions. Trent listened attentively.
"Yes," he said, nodding when the Sergeant finished. "I noticed that too. There could be something in it. And of course the violet petals."
"Marking his presence? Yes, sir, but he hasn't done that before. It's almost as though..." Tallin stopped, following out a train of thought of his own. The petals were from violets, but they were blue. He remembered what the colors violet and blue signified...
"As though what?" Trent waited patiently.
"As though, well, I was just thinking about the colors, sir," said Tallin.
Trent shrugged and began making his way towards the building, with Tallin following.
---------
Superintendent Doran was in a bad mood. He stalked through the groups of people, who seemed to go out of their way to avoid him. He stopped at the room where the CSI was working.
"What's going on in here?" he barked.
"Well, sir- I, sir- Victim, sir- Someone came in, sir-" Voices fluttered to him, the story coming in fragments. He drowned it out.
"A victim in the station?" Doran said. "Negligence! I will not have this in my police force! Who was guarding this?"
A policeman stepped forward. "Nobody, sir, we don't guard our own rooms."
At a sign from the Superintendent, Doran's four bodyguards seized the policeman and dragged him away. Presently, a shot was heard.
"That's what happens to the insolent," said Doran to the group of policemen huddled around the door. "Does anyone want to join him?"
Silence.
"Good. Get to work. Who's in charge of this case?"
"Trent and Tallin, sir," said Leris.
"Where are they?"
"Outside conducting interrogations."
"Good. Someone knows how to obey orders." Doran looked pleased. Very pleased. Leris wondered what he had in mind.
"Everyone get back to your work," said the Superintendent. The smile on his face was humorless, and Leris shuddered. "I will get back to mine. And Leris, get Leopold and Spassov and come with me."
Leris shuddered again and went off to find the two people Doran had mentioned.

OOC: you mean me? I'll ge tto it, I need to attempt to get a fel for his characters and what he wanted done. and their is the whole issue of you "never asked" I had with a different RP'er who gave up NS and we used something of his, and he came back and harrassed us about it, their is even a whole thread dedicated to him calling me and the other RP'er Godmoders over it. I'm surprised he still stayed and hung on under a different puppet(neither here nor there so I'll forget it for now). So I want to wait until tommorow to get a feel of it, for him to give permission, and to think of what to say. If he doesn't give permission though I will go ahead with it anyway. And in case he can't check the forum, I sent a TG to him. So I will take over, if he allows, or doesn't respond.

OOC: I just got a TGram from DP and that is what he told me to do. He said it would become too confusing to explain, so if we just wanted to run around without him until he came back then we were to feel free to do that. Later I will post the Airplane landing. All those who were depending on DP's Character to respond, just pretend you got a response.
