The charismatic madman and current President Josef Franz Oceanhahn retained his post today after the third recount in the transnational elections confirmed that his was the only vote cast. Appearing on his office balcony at Swampistan City Capital Mound, the Mangowhalian president had this to say as he entered his eighteenth consecutive thirty-month term, "If people truly wanted such things as 'political freedom,' then they'd certainly have told me by now. 'Because I had something better to do' only proves that nothing is wrong in my tiny delightful hive of min-- citizens, and if anyone thinks they know better, I'm ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that someone would have told me by now." Expert speculation on the matter has cast doubt on the legitimacy of the Swampistani voting proceedures and regulations, which stipulate that 'only the President's vote shall count', but since the measure was ratified while nobody was around to defeated it, it was passed by what the President refers 'laughingly to' as 'Special Executive Initiative Under Extreme Conditions,' giving it a convincing air of rightful authority.
