ooc: Atrox City (interest/information)
Dancing Penguin

Hello to you, my fellow posters. I will be starting a completely open RP entitled Atrox City. This thread will be serving as an interest/information/ooc thread for that RP.
Atrox City will take place in the city of the same name. I have a basic idea of where I want it to go, however the plot is very loose and will mostly be up to the RPers.
“That sounds cool,” I hope I hear you saying, “But could you tell me more about this Atrox?” Of course, friend. In fact, I’m going to give you some basic information about Dancing Penguin as well:
Dancing Penguin, at a glance, appears a peaceful and clean nation. It’s people are usually very friendly and it’s skies are mostly clear of smog.
Over sixty percent of the nation is at least part human. The rest of the population is made up of demons, angels, and the shoulder height penguins from which the nation’s name comes from.
Though the penguins are one of the smallest species groups percentage wise, they hold a somewhat oppressive regime over the nation. They have managed to legislate and enforce morality. The military, known as the “Enforcers Squad,” is controlled by this regime.
Atrox City (this is the important part) is the absolute opposite of the rest of Dancing Penguin. This is because it is the headquarters of D Corp., a massive weapons manufacturer that is the only business outside penguin control. This immunity was granted by contracts that, in exchange, give the regime exclusive rights to purchasing D Corp.’s most powerful products.
Atrox’s immunity means that the Enforcers Squad is not allowed in. In response to an increasingly corrupt police department in the city, D Corp. and the penguins amended their contract to create a regime funded and D Corp. supplied branch of the military. This branch, named The Slayer Project, both keeps an eye on the Atrox police and steps in to keep order when they slip up. All the same, Atrox remains a dangerous and violent place.
Again, all questions (relating to this RP) are welcome. Please join!

Damn, this looks like it's going to be really good. I have a question, is thier anyway I could get a gun and knife to my character through the airplane. Either through checking his luggage, or somehow getting it on the plane in his person. She isn't going to harm anyone. And while I'm asking, what about a potentially hazardous animal?
EDIT, and I meant while on the plane about the hurting people

You probably could, but only because the flight is going to Atrox. You would have to keep the weapon in your bag durring the flight.

Since my last post is confusing without it, here's some info on Mystics in Dancing Penguin:
Mystics are people who can communicate with and manipulate spirits. They can use spirits to pick up and throw objects as well as weave spirits into barriers to stop bullets. They can also barrage people with spirit flame to cause tremendous pain without injury.
There are two basic types of Mystic:
Blue Flame Mystic
Mystics who use the powers of spirits who have not crossed over due to "unfinished business," also known as "The Lost." The weakest type of Mystic.
Purple Flame Mystic
Mystics who use the powers of spirits who have not crossed over due to ill deeds or horrible crimes, also known as "The Damned." They are stronger than Blue Flame Mystics, but tend to become corrupted by the spirits they command.
There are a few other things relating to Mystics, but I'll explain those when they become relevant. Rebecca is a Blue Flame Mystic, however she is poorly trained and can do little more than the most basic things.

Hmm... I'm thinking about joining this. I'm not sure though. Seems aimless at the moment, and I really don't see a use for another character yet. Any ideas, this sounds like it might be good, and I recognize a few of the names here?

Ok, you know what? Forget it. I'm in. I'm going to use two characters if you don't mind. If you object, I'll be happy to kill one of them off.

Use as many characters as you like, so long as you can keep track of them.

is there any way to recognize a mystic? Are mystics revered/hated/people are indifferent/people are terrified of them?

OK, well first you need to ask Dancing penguin if it's ok to have a character, I don't believe he will have any objections, but I don't know him terribly well so I can't make that judgement. Second you need to make a character. Since DP isn't on right now I will help you make your character here. I'm assuming that since your post count is low you haven't done Much Rp'ing on NS. Your character should be appropriate the RP. Now spelling and grammer is looked upon highly in this game, so if you dont' spell well let the others know you don't, and copy paste your posts to word, or something else that can spell check for you. Another issue that is very heavily frowned upon is Godmodeing. Godmoding (GM) is baisically having immpossibly strong characters, characters that never take damage, or (to a lesser extent) controlling others characters. You did good to mark your post in the other thread as OOC (out of Character) an IC (In character) post is one that pertains to your character in the game, while OOC is just a question or something similar that isn't covered in an IC post.
The basic rules out of the way, you can begin to build your character. At first it will be nothing more than a name to you, but if you really get into it You will develop a sort of personality for this character. Because (I'm assuming here) this is your first character RP, lets start you off with something simple, why not a thug in Atrox city, I'll let you pick the name and what he/she looks like. And be creative when you introduce your character don't just say, "X walked in the room and found a seat." say it more like "X stood majestically at 6'3" as he burst into the room, his cape billowing in the slight breeze that swept the room from the open door. He scanned the room and found a chair positioned at the far end of the room where he could moniter the rest of the room easily."
well that is all I can think of for right now, if you have any questions feel free to ask, I'm here to help.

Thanks, NoH. I'm unable to post at home due to my computer being a diseased streetwalker. I'll post when I can...
I've roleplayed the finding of the next rape victim. I may bring in a private investigator as well, if I have the time or effort to invent a name.

Okay, couple things:
Kryde is the rapist from the opening. His victims are all childern. The rape victim you found would be done by a different guy.
Rebecca is a victim of Kryde who got away. She is going to help The Slayer Project track down Kryde.
Atrox police needed to catch someone or else The Slayer Project would have gotten involved. They made up evidence and condemmed an inocent man to death. Then the attack who started our thread happend and The Slayer Projcet got involved anyway.
Any questions?

-Waits around for the address from our great RP leader-
Whoops, you posted before I did.
Nope, no questions.

Any questions? The victim I found was a child. It was not raped. It was planted there by someone sympathetic to Kryde who wanted to throw the evidence off him. That is what the CSI is going to find out.
What Inspector Trent and his comrade Sergeant Tallin do not know is that Kryde, knowing how corrupt the Atrox police force is, bribed Superintendent Doran a huge sum to throw The Slayer Project off his track. Either Doran or his bodyguards then abducted and killed a random girl and threw in some faux evidence. In the meantime, Kryde is apparently safe. Since this apparent victim was discovered just six hours after the last, much too short an interval, the Slayer Project will become suspicious and suspect that they were done by different people.
Just to prove how evil he is, Doran also will promise an assassin a lot of money, then send him to kill Rebecca. The assassin will be one of Doran's own men. The Slayer Project will then find this assassin (they are escorting Rebecca) and accuse him of being the rapist, for which he will probably be sentenced to death. Thus the Chief of Police will clean his hands of two murders.
And if Kryde commits another crime, it will be easy for Doran to betray him to The Slayer Project.
The plan is practically foolproof.
