Not sure if I posted it in the right forum, but, oh well.

Basically I just signed up, and I want to get stuck in somehow, but obviously not all nations are within interaction-range of one another. None of the instructional topics I've read seem to give a definative answer to this question: Where does my new nation fit in? Who are my neighbour-states, if any? Is it up to me or are there restrictions? Please help...

Decide what level of technology you want to play as. Modern, near future, space, far future. Then, look around the Gameplay forum to see if there are any small nation alliances and/or regions you could join. Start a formation roleplay, maybe inviting foreign diplomats to meet your new government or something. It's freeform roleplay - basically, your nation can be anything you want it to be, so long as you think others might accept it.
