New Haven drops old currency; adopts New Haven Dollars

The Socialist Republic of New Haven announced today that it will be dropping the official USR currency in favor of a domestic currency called the New Haven Dollar. Twenty New Haven Dollars will be equal to 1 USD (Universal Standard Dollars), and will be provided in the following currency denominations:

Coinage:

1 NHD (copper) (5 US cents)
5 NHD (nickel-plated copper) (25 US cents)
10 NHD (nickel-plated copper) (50 US Cents)
20 NHD (copper with gold-plated rim (out to 5mm from the rim) and nickel-plated center) (1 USD)

The heads of all coins will bear the image of the President of New Haven. The tails of all coins will bear the five stars representing New Haven's controlled systems with a hammer and sickle in the center.
