The Fifth NationStatss DoGA Contest!

Having been in contact with a few folks who've made it clear they would in fact enter another contest, and spurred on by the sticky below quite rightly pointing out this hasn't been updated in a -long- time, I've decided to give at least one more go to this series of contest in the hope some revival will take place.

Consequently, the fifth NationStatss DoGA contest is thusa:-

Design and render a weapon for use in the theatre of war, or in the role of peacekeeping.

Any time period may be represented; the Boer war to a future conflict can supply entries though again, newer does not mean superior in terms of modelling.
The weapon in question should not be a tank, or other obvious vehicle. The exception being artillery, which may be in some way movable.
The limit is ONE weapon per entry-- Thusly whilst a field of artillery looks impressive, it isn't about filling the screen.
Add-ons for entries are permitted; a scope for a rifle for example. or a silencer.

As is the usual, the context will close in two weeks, on the Second of May.

Are we limited to one entry per nation (well, user, since several people including myself have multiple nations) or can we enter multiple models?

Edit: Each being in a different picture of course
The Solitary Hermits

This the the first post of The Solitary Hermits.

Ours barrier system has been in use for over 150 years since the creation of our community of hermits to prevent outsiders getting into our compound.

It was developed by a Hermit who decided that 40 years work for the Illuminati was sending him to Hell and decided to become a hermit, living out his days in peace.

He gave us this system, the designs and a prototype after a wave of News Scientists and Paleontologists invaded the compound after discovering that we had our own collection of rare fossils.

We feel that we are able to release the fence into todays society to prevent riots and small military movements.

Redball; I'd prefer if we stuck to one nation and one entry.

Hermits; I'm afraid that entry won't be valid-- As the contest title might suggest, entries are to be designed and rendered in the CGI program DoGA, not as you've done. Feel free to enter something using that program however.

The Kajali Delsa Plasma Cannon is one of the largest weapons produced in Kajal today. Mounted on starships or ground based turrets, the weapon is intended primarily for siege operations. Aboard starships, it is deployed using a track system, which allows the weapon to be stowed safely behind armor when required, and the starship mounted version can rotate a full 360 degrees and essentially turn itself over, having a full 180 degree arc for vertical movement.

However, the weapon is not capable of both extremes at the same time. If it is capable of rotating 360 degrees, it cannot achieve the full vertical movement, vice versa. It has not often been a problem, however, as the objects this weapon is intended for use against do not often move quickly, if at all.

Versions of this weapon adapted for ground turret emplacements have always had a limited fire vertical fire arc, but unrestricted horizontal arcs.

In Oakmoon, we have an advanced rock crystal that can only be used by those directly decended from the discoverer of this crystal. It has both healing properties and those that would cause our enemies, if any, to either leave of transform into something of nature. It was found in a cave under an oak tree. :)

this is my entry my kingdom is in the middle of an ocean in a secret place and that's why all my weapons are stealthy.

I'm afraid as I explained above, that entry won't be accepted becuase it wasn't designed and rendered in DoGA, which is the program that must be utilised to enter in this contest.

This is a more compact version of the 4th Dante class weapon, the Slipstream Core Launcher.

The slipstream core is the heart of every Ineffable interstellar vessel. This lump of exotic matter provides the repulsive energy required to open a slipstream portal.
Normally, these are only used for very brief periods, and Gravity Field Generators are required to help open the portal. However, if released from containment, these cores will collapse, and open an unstable portal on their own for a short period of time. The gravitational fields caused by this rip in spacetime will suck in ships from all around. While they won't necessarily be damaged by this, entering the slipstream unprepared usually causes minor damage to ships at least. If they are equipped with a slipstream drive they will be able to exit, although most likely tens of lightyears from where they started. Without a (functioning) slipstream engine exit is far more difficult, though not impossible. However, weeks or even years could be spent trying to find an exit.
It is this that the slipstream core launcher exploits. Slipstream cores are fired at enemy fleets, to suck large numbers of ships into the slipstream, and out of the battle. As stated earlier, this isn't necessarily a destructive weapon. However, it can be far more effective, reducing the size of enemy forces to more manageable numbers, while remaining primarily a non-lethal weapon.

Here you can see a slipstream portal forming, in the left of the picture. This is in fact much larger than the weapons platform, it seems smallish due to the great distance the cores travel before collapsing. Their instability is adjusted so they don't collapse too near Ineffable fleets. Nevertheless, these are still deployed in the front of an Ineffable battlefleet, for safety.

Ok, what I’m going to have here is from my puppet Stellar Britanicus.

The type 45 Holland and Barret, Twin Gatling, Anti Boarding Turret
(Later designated as the type 45 - 6A Anti Boarding and Small Craft Turret)

http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/totalrandom/turret2.jpg
This is an earlier Model 1 Turret, noted by the upright ammunition feeds in the guns, this gave a short combat duration with limited ammunition, and necessitated a crew man doing a space walk to reload them.

Here we have a cut away view of a Model 2A Turret, showing the gunner in the traditional, bulky 'Blue Shirt' Space Suit worn by most rated space men going into combat, over it he has the battleplate armour helmet and chest piece worn by most gunners and turret men, to protect from flying splinters.
http://mysite.wanadoo-members.co.uk/totalrandom/turretcut1.jpg

This is a view down into the turret well of a Model A2 Type 45, with the gunners seat removed, you can see the access hatch, ammunition stores and ammunition feeds into the guns (The A2 had a patented Vapour Lock mechanism that allowed the ammunition belts to feed from the turret into the guns, allowing for a lot more ammunition per gun.)

Basically, some sortof small locomotive armed with machine guns, intresting to note is one crewman, two MG's to handle! Mostly used for running supplies around small bases, or between the outposts in New Birchester, lightly armoured, though this one seems to have lost the plating around the roof and on one side.

The winner of the Fifth official NationStates DoGA contest is Dargonese for a record number of times! Congratulations; I'll be in touch to see if you've any suggestions or such for a sixth contest, seeing as the reponse to this one has been refreshingly good. To make this official then: -
