Of Flight and Flame (Steampunk Fantasy Dragon Hunt RP)
"To all world-be adventurers,
I invite you all on a hunt for fabled 'Great White Dragon', said to roam the frozen wastes and mountians north of Ruskkia. Though rarely seem over the centuries, the creature has been spotted about a week ago and I intend to hunt it down.
At my disposal will be an airship of the Ruskkie (Imperial) Air Corps and the lastest in anti-flyer weaponary which the Empire has to offer.
Ideal persons for such a venture I expect to see are those whom are of a brave heart and have some experience with dragons.
Count Sterling, Ruskkie Empire."

The Dragonriders of Issus issue a statement of protest against this hunting party and ask that Ruskkia end it's foolish practice and leave the dragon alone.

High King Demgoralin also condemns this hunt, and requests an explanation of what the dragon has done to deserve extermination.

The Dragon King of Draconis Nightcrawlis condems all hunting of dragons for sport.
The government of the Ruskkie Empire has no control over what the Count does and what he hunts.
We are sorry that the Count's latest venture has cuased some anger and upset throughout the international community, though as we have said his action is belyond our control. Also, we're not expecting him to be successful.
Thank you.
The Imperial Government of the Ruskkie Empire.

Note from The Foreign Relations Department of Hakustahn:
Despite the fact that Hakustahn is a nation which prides itself on its love of Dragons (we even have one on our flag), we condemn any nation which believes that they have some sort of right to judge what the citizens of another country take up as sport. If this Count Sterling wishes to go and hunt for Dragons, then Kal Dorak, Draconis Nightcrawlis and CoreWorlds should leave the man be! We defend the right of Count Sterling, as a law-abiding citizen of a sovereign nation, to hunt whatever he damn well pleases!
As a matter of course, the Hakustahn government will lend fuel, ammo and supplies to Count Sterling (we'd lend him ships, but we don't have any). Just to be fair, if the three aforementioned nations are so bloody upset, we'll reimburse them for the loss of a Dragon which they never had the right to protect in the first place!

The King of Dragons sends a picture of a nuclear explosion, one of his most powerful spells. The caption reads:
Has this been an actual explosion, the Hakustahn government would be nothing but a smoking crater for their foolishness. The Dragons protect their own, and there's nothing you can do to stop it, human.

Go bully some other nation, you overgrown reptiles! Do you think that Hakustahn is afraid of such weapons as nuclear bombs? Have you even considered that despite its annihilation through nuclear attack, Hakustahn might carry on regardless? Of course you haven't, as you are egotistical and vain, believing that death and fear are powerful weapons! Hakustahn is an idea, a way of life, an Order - it is not only a mere nation! You could blow us into the stratosphere, but we would go on regardless. Do not presume to believe that any Magicke, however powerful it may be, can see to our end.
If you're so damned concerned about dragons, go and annoy nations which actively cull them, rather than one mad old duke who plans on hunting just one of them! There are plenty of countries which have officially denounced dragons as pests, and follow strict government policies in executing them. They're more of a threat to Drakonic-kind, not Russkia! If you undertake this Crusade, Hakustahn will throw full support behind you!

The King laughed out loud, startling some of the youngest dragonriders in the Dragon Mountains. He replied:
We could eradicate you from the face of the Earth should I choose to war against you and you have the spunk to defy me? I like you, young one!

Naturally, Highness, we in Hakustahn always welcomes commendations of our bravery. We have always followed a foreign policy of "Your Nation is yours, and our Nation ours." - we are quite content to let people follow whatever practises they wish within the boundaries of their own borders, as long as they let us get by with our own. Likewise, we will always protect the right of other nations to act the same way. Our great Socialist Union is comfortably large enough for we to do as we wish, and we have no interests in war or imperial expansion.
However, as before, if you wish to protect the interests of Dragon-kind, you must hunt those who are actively anti-Dragon. As far as I can tell, the nation of Russkia is itself not officially anti-Dragon.
OOC: Guys, could we please keep the flame war out of the thread?
I'm just trying to run a comedy role play here, not a debate!

IC:
As an add-on to our earlier message, the Imperial Government of Ruskkia believes the count has been conned by a drunk! The legend of the so-called 'Great White Dragon' is nothing more than a con thought up by a bugger drinking too much sodka.
The Count has been told this, but has refused to believe by saying. "A pack of lies I say, made up by those blasted mages trying to throw me off!"
The Count will continue his hunt, but only to prove the existance of the creature and not to afflict any harm against it. Though he added that he will fight back in self defense.
Ruskkie Imperial Government.
Indel Krieger, leader of the Artian Collective, sat reading a through a copy of the Ruskkie's 'Imperial Times' newspaper. He skipped through most of it, only glancing at the odd title or too, until he came across something highly unusual but very interesting. It was a piece about what appeared to be something to do with a 'Great White Dragon' and some mad Ruskkie Count.
This wasn't something you saw every day.
An idea began to from, the Ruskkie were only going to photograph the creature in order to prove it existence. Ah! The Artians would go one step better and capture the damn thing, leaving the Ruskkies looking little morethan laughing stocks!
He quickly grabbed the phone sitting upon his desk and quickly said. "Dispatch one of our airships to northern Ruskkia, we're going on a little hunt..."
OOC: Would non-human adventurers be accepteable?
OOC: Yes, in fact theres a wide range of 'non-humans' living in the Ruskkie Empire ranging from Dwarves and Halfings through to Elves and Orcs.
OOC: In that case, I've got perfect chareacters... an ice wraith and a hooded snow demon (neither are actually evil, though the two races both have rather bad reputations) exiled from Isaria. This is exactly the sort of thing that would attract their attention. How should I have them arrive?
OOC: Just have them turned up, what they do and how they do it is up to you. Though if you plan for them to join the Count's little trip, the airship is located at an airfield just north of Valhalla (Ruskkia' most northern city).
