"Good morning, loyal fellow subjects. I'm Max Fersen, and this is the early morning news in Lavenrunz.
The recent birthday celebrations lof our beloved Empress Aurora were deemed a great success. (scene shows fireworks over the night sky of Hofburg, shows smoothbore cannons fired by ceremonial guards on the lawn of the Autumn Palace, people parading happily with large images of Empress Aurora) Her imperial Majesty is now sixteen. Rumors to the effect that possible suitors for Her Majesty's hand are not substantiated, and there has been no comment from either Count Rosenburg, Her Majesty's ambassador to Pantocratoria or from Herr Gebhart in Iraqstan regarding this.
In international news, the war drums beat on the high seas as the Excalbian Royal Navy put to sea in response to Knootian involvment in the independance of the Sovereign Isles from the Kingdom of Excalbia. Possible internal seccession by the Grand Duchy of Saxmere would split off crucial resources from the fledgling state, which is being largely supported by Knootoss. (scene shows the Knootian and Excalbian ambassadors arriving for a conference in the Resurgent Dream, and then the media being shooed away) There has been as yet no comment from the Government regarding this.
In an act towards the involvement of subjects in government, national referendums will be permitted regarding certain matters of internal affairs, said government spokespersons. The Volksraad passed this act yesterday, and it was signed following that by Her Majesty.
The newest member of the High Court of Lavenrunz, Ernst Rennenkampf, has stated that he intends to do his best to uphold family values in Lavenrunz and curtail damages done to it by atheistic and liberal standpoints. His appointment has been deplored by Helga Dresden, leader of the CPL and the Opposition.
We'll return after these messages with news of desertification in Lavenrunz. (scene shows Lavenrunzian cattle in a dusty wind)
(followed by a commercial for the GS Wanderjaar, a new SUV)
