The nation of Xanthal, as some may remember, was lost to the Abh three centuries ago. Now a sequence of events has begun that will reunite the former xanthalian territories under the Xanthalian flag once more. Let me stress that what I am doing here is not bringing back the Xanthal of old, simply the name and a few of its territories united under the same general concept. While I could do this myself, as it is an internal affair between three of my nations, I think that would be incredibly boring. So, in short, I need a partner or two. If you are interesed in participating or wish to discuss something related to this storyline, post here. Many easter eggs will be present for those of you that have been around long enough to remember the first incarnation of Xanthal.

So many old names! You bring me great joy. Neo-Tiburon, assuming your question is whether I am the same person who played Xanthal before, the answer is yes. As I said though, this "resurrection" won't be bringing back the old country, just merging the surviving territories into a conglomerate nation that they'll name Xanthal. I decided to re-use the account because the combined population comes out just about right. And, I missed playing with the Xanthal name.

Alright people, here's how this is going to work: You can all get involved as you would like, but this is not going to be a one-thread massive group RP. Each of you can select one or more places to get involved in the story arc, when, where, and how. I'm not going to hand out roles, so you can all create your own based on how you think your nations would naturally act. Of course, I will be placing some restrictions so that the arc itself stays intact, but hopefully that won't be a major barrier. The sequence of major events follows, and you can get involved at any point or in-between points.
-Than IV and Than VI: Standoff ends, Than IV takes control of Than VI. This is currently happening. You may join to assist either side, but the outcome is predetermined.
-Than: The Thanic nation begins emerging onto the world stage. Many RP opportunities, diplomatic and otherwise, exist here.
-Mirfak: Cylons begin to invade. Participants here may ally with either side in the battles that follow, or work their roles in otherwise. The outcome is predetermined in Mirfak's favor, but significant damage to Mirfak in the process is fair game.
-Mirfak and Than: Diplomatic contact is made. Participation here could include diplomatic roleplaying or sabotage of negotiations in the case of nations that may not have been very fond of the old Xanthal.
-Xanthal: This is the final stage, which will take place after good diplomatic relationships have been in place between Mirfak and Than for two or three NS decades. The nations will merge and become the new Xanthal. Participation here is pretty much open to anything from parties and congratulations to last-ditch efforts to prevent the union by enemies.

I encourage anyone with questions to contact me via any one of my IM addresses if possible. If not, you may post them here. With luck, we'll be able to get everyone in a role that suits them. Specific national roles will be posted below as they become clear.

Roania: Involved in the Thanic Wars, playing both sides for profit in arms and possibly plotting to take control of the planets themselves.

Hmmm...with LRR looking less and less like a nation and more like a loose association of robots with spaceships by the day, I don't quite know how I should fit in.

Would it be possible to give us (or me rather) a rundown of the history of each system? What are their governments like? Would they be things that LRR would be interested in overthrowing or supporting?

Mirfak III was originally a Xanthalian exile planet, then became an outworld. When the Aellis System disappeared and Xanthal dissolved, it fell into anarchy. It was reunified under a dictatorship, then conquered. It gained independence under a three-branch democracy, which is what it is today.

The Than System's two habitable planets split apart after Xanthal dissolved. Than IV continued under something approaching Xanthalian Socialism with an elected dictator and Senate, while Than VI turned to the old Thanic royal family and became a principality. Than VI attacked Than IV and the two nations have been locked in isolated combat ever since. They are currently engaged in the final battle described above.

I will probably work with the Than side of this RP, Xanthal. It seems like it would cater more to Valinor diplomatic tastes.

I'll probably do the Than side also, although I'll just have to wait and see how the story goes to determine the extent of my involvement.

I'll support the Mirfakians. Democracies are my kind of nations.

Okay, those of you that want to participate in the Than conflict can go to this thread (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=412817), where the RP is already in-progress. Roania is there, and I'm clearing Valinon and LRR to be there, too. I'm cutting off further participation in that thread though, because I don't want overcrowding. Others that want to get involved with Than will have to do so in a different chapter or in a different way.

Tiburon, the Cylon infiltration of Mirfak is currently taking place here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=409791). There's no combat or real knowledge of a threat yet, so keep that in mind if you wish to participate in the Cylon chapter. You may jump in however you like, or wait for a later chapter to start involvement if you wish.

I remind everyone that the probability of losing vessels and personnel is high if you participate in either of the wars. Of course, you know that. Just a disclaimer.
