To the esteemed High Council of Revenia:
I give you my best greetings, and along with them a proposal to break the diplomatic silence that has existed between our two nations since Revenia's joint invasion of Mirfak in 2883. I wish to extend an invitation for a delegation representing your nation to attend a negotiation in Mirfak for development of a friendship between our states. If you reply positively, as I hope you will, the goal of the meeting will be to establish a diplomatic dialogue and possibly a low-level reciprocal treaty agreement to foster a warmer relationship between the Mirfakan and Revenian governments. Now that the Socialist Republic has stabilized, it is my objective as Alphin to rebuild international confidence in the Mirfakan state. As Mirfak has already reconciled relations with the Distributed Kingdom and the Imperial Republic, I feel that it is best to create a mutually beneficial diplomatic relationship with the Star Supremacy as well. As you may already be aware however, a great deal of resentment still sits with many of my people for the destruction caused on Bulshin during the occupation. For that reason, if you send a delegation I will be setting up the meeting in a secure facility to ensure the safety of your people. I entreat you once more to foster lasting peace by accepting my proposition.

High Chancellor Sero Relaren raised an eyebrow as he read the message.

"The hell? Did they just say what I think they said?"

Adrian Stark, Lord Stark and High King of Revenia nodded slowly, "Mmhmm. Trap?"

Sero shrugged, "Probably. I'm not entirely sure why we should go...that whole Mirfak situation was complete bull. Poor Dysaryn...he didn't have the god-damned -time- to fix the situation. No time to establish a working relationship within the native groups...no time to do much of anything. Damned unfortunate. Ahh well. Who ought we send?"

Adrian thought for a few moments, then said with quite some finality, "Raede."

Sero nodded.

Raede (pronounced ray-day) Kincaid commanded an RDS Crisis Response Team, specifically the one assigned to the RDS Vinlcatr, one of the RDS' Administrator class CRT Cruisers.

Right now, he was relaxing in his quarters, waiting for Starrise. Shouldn't be long...

As it turned out, it happened right then.

The Vinlcatr made starrise into the Mirfak system, and the usual call went out.

"This is the Revenian Diplomatic Starship Vinlcatr, responding to the request by the Mirfaki government for a meeting. Any hostile actions taken against this ship will be considered as an act of war against the Star Supremacy. We are a diplomatic cruiser and we will not participate in any ongoing hostilities regardless of outcome except in self-defense.

We will not submit to boarding, we will not stand by for any length of time. We claim diplomatic immunity, and if your nation does not recognize this claim, then you will advise us as such at this point. We will then make the decision as to whether or not we will leave.

If you attempt to detain or in any other way inconvenience or seize this ship or its crewmembers, you will be committing an act of war against the Star Supremacy of Revenia.

Thank you for your cooperation."

The First Fleet, which has been standing by for the ship's arrival, moves into escort formation around the Vinlcatr. Its commanding officer contacts the Revenian ship on an audio channel.
"Greetings, and welcome on behalf of Alphin Vinessa Burkavik. I am Bomowas Cody Ishma. I and my fleet have been assigned to protect your ship and personnel from harm for the duration of your stay. I am pleased to report no current hostilities, ongoing or otherwise, in the system, and recognize your limited diplomatic immunity; which protects you from prosecution or conviction of all lower-class offenses and defines expulsion from Mirfakan territory as the only viable punishment for other crimes under Mirfakan law.

"You have the right to be secure in your vessel from any boarding, and the right to keep any and all property, personal or otherwise, that you arrived with. I can personally assure you that my staff and the Alphin's have taken every possible measure to ensure that no incidents occur that would necessitate any hostilities on either side of this negotiation. We are transmitting a full system map to you now. You may set course for MYL-17 and proceed at your own discretion."
