The newly-formed Mirfakan Military Training Academy (Gälĕn Oĭfnä Ädsĭläl) was to open its doors today, officially beginning its takeover of the Labule and Nahbule facilities previously run by the organizations themselves. The G.O.Ä., commissioned to deal with overcentralization of the armed forces of Mirfak, will be tasked with extensive screening and documentation of candidates for participation in the military, as well as their training. The implementation of the G.O.Ä. is a product of the Military Reform Act (Prĕseos Dev Ädsĭläl), passed by the Council last year. The P.D.Ä. was spearheaded by the Party Internationale, and targets longstanding issues of corruption in both branches of the military.
It is hoped by liberal parties that the massive decentralization taking place because of the P.D.Ä. will force a higher standard and greater checks-and-balances power in both the Labule and Nahbule. It is also predicted that the departmental specialization will allow for greater efficiency in military operations and decreased vulnerability to internal attacks. Conservative leaders have attacked the Military Reform Act for decreasing data security by creating the need for much greater communication. There are also many concerned that the lack of ability for the Labule and Nahbule to manage the entirety of their operations will create potentially fatal lag-time and miscommunications between sectors.
The Alphin has consistently declined to comment on the effects of the P.D.Ä., but both Frod Käsnäi have indicated that the reforms have had no remarkable negative impact on their branches' services. The Labule's Frod Käsnä told reporters last week that he had "had no reports to indicate that any major damage has been or will be done to our ability to operate and serve our function for Mirfak." The full effects of the Military Reform Act are scheduled for Council committee review in early 2921.
