Instead of the more regular sporting events I was thinking of starting some of the more traditional competitions like archery, javeling throwing, knife throwing, maybe pistol shooting. I am readin the Cherry Cup RP thread now to get a feeling how the sports roleplaying works and to see how matches are won or lost. Because I don't really know how to organize such an event I'm asking the veteran sports roleplayers for help. I was having this in mind:

My thoughts on organization.
Like darts, they are standing a certain distance (let's say 6 meters/19 feet) and they have to get the highest score. Bullseye is 10 points, the red circle around it 5 and then decreasing one with every circle to the outside. Starts with 24 players, quarter finals 12, semi-finals 6 and the finals have 3 players. More players are also possible, this is merely as an example. This can be the same for pistol shooting and archery, but the last two sports must have an increase in distance between the marksman/(cross)bowmen to make the competition more difficult. For archery I was thinking of 30 meters/98 feet and pistol shooting 50 meters/164 feet.

If you have idea's or feedback, tell me!

Its not the actual game itself that really matters, its really down to whether you can RP a match which much ease. Football (soccer) and Ice Hockey are the two most popular sports (imho) because they're so easy to scorinate and RP.

Man scores, man misses, other man scores, man scores in the wrong place. team wins. Manager unhappy.

Its all about simplicity, I think.
