Charlie: Good news.

President:You mean....?

Charlie: Yep. ALL traces of the Republic of Yuri has vanished.

(OOC: if you read my empire's history .txt files, you'll realize that we encountered the Yuri on another forum, and when he decided to change the rules of his game, thus ruining the fun, I carried the storyline over to here.)

OOC: i already moved my empire to a new Pluto and charon region prior to posting this thread. Plus, I've chatted with Jordaxia before on msn, so next time he comes on, I'll tell him. He probably has a good idea for a good RP. :)

"Admiral Shake, we've recieved word from Chimera Fleet Command...someone is trying to claim both Pluto and Charon for...the...Plu...tonian Empire." The communications officer read off the report and when he was done handed it over to the ships execuitive officer who read it as well. Looking over toward the Admiral who was dumbfounded sighed slightly. The boonies were always active..first it was the Aumanii, then it was the nation of Crimmond...now this. Admiral Shake spoke up, "Well put the fleet on alert..if they want to take all of Charon let them try...how is the outpost on Pluto doing?"

"They're reporting their condition as active ready. The marine recruits down on the Pala Proving Grounds have been given live ammo and put on ready alert. Our base on Charon, Nomad Sentry, and the research facility of Nomad Moon are also reporting ready combat status. The surface to orbit weaponry is also on the ready along with ground based aerospace fighters. Chesapeake Naval Station is reporting combat ready status." The executive officer Commodore David McConnell read off the entire report to which Admiral Shake, commander of the 3rd Fleet and temporary commander of the Outer Rim Defense force simply nodded his head. It had been sometime since some tinpot dictatorship tried to lay claim to both planetary bodies. It had been estbalished sometime ago just who controlled the area..New York and New Jersey had outposts on both which had grown into military bases, and finally minor colonies on the desolate planet and her tiny moon. They had been there for centuries(March '03) and they hadnt planned on moving anytime soon.

No offical announcement was made, but a fleet of two hundred and six warships was a pretty loud statement in and of itself. The fleet had deployed nearly fifty-five aerospace fighters had been deployed on combat space patrol, with another hundred fighters sitting on the ready decks across the four fleet carriers assigned to the 3rd Fleet. Aboard the nearby battleships of Man O' War and Hellbringer the marine contingents prepared for rapid deployments. Each of the one kilometer and half warships carried a marine battalion of five hundred troops and various support equipment and supplies for nearly two months of sustained planetary operations. If anything, the NYNJ knew to prepare for the worst. And in the past two months, that is all they had gotten. The worst.

OOC: how fast should we take this? Should we go on regular NS time, where 1 day = 1 year?

This is the typically used calculator. There are no real dedicated military only calculators out there. As for time frame, one day a year doesnt make much sense for NS, I only mentioned March to pretty much say I've got a long established claim to this area of space.

OOC: I see. Well, the empire has a few additional population centers: Belle Hades, Denver City, and Belle Hades, making the total population: 2.085 billion. Can I use this for my RP'd population? Or would it be better to use my regular population, which is 789 million?

**It has been a few weeks now since the Empire discovered the disappearance of the Yuri, and they have begun the process of exodusing about 80,000 people to start a new life on Pluto, which will grow quite rapidly, due to the sexual nature of Plutonian people (uber-libedoes).**

April: Unfortunately, we have only been able to manage to get 80 PlutoCons from the airline for the Exodus.
