The Democratic Republic of Ornithica has been born. A new nation, we are one obsessed with flight and space. Slowly progressing forward, we are doing well and trying hard to become a bigger nation. Ornithica is opening its doors to any offers for help, be it in the form of political or military alliances, trade exchange, selling of military equipment or simple advice. We are glad to be here and welcome all help.

Anyways, Welcome Ornithica!

I read that you are a nation obsessed with space and flight. Well, us Stumps are obsessed with Aviation, and currently taking up the idea of designing our building our own spacecraft, but now I read about Ornithica, how about a joint project? We have Scientists about to finish their last proper assessment at university and the building of a new laboratory has just finished. What do you say?

His Benevolent Malevolence, His Grace Jacob, The Grand Duke of Arpwat wishes to extend welcome to a fellow newly emerged nation and wishes to establish a peaceful relationship with The Democratic Republic of Ornithica. The Office of External Affairs, Division of Ambassadorial Issuing will be pleased to issue one freshly stamped Ambassador to The Democratic Republic of Ornithica, should Ornithica be willing to receive one. Our requirements for recognition are simple: We wish to ally ourselves with all those sharing the Grand Duchy’s goal of the annihilation of Piscine Menaces from the world.
The Grand Duchy is interested in Space Flight, as the Grand Duke believes the answer to the Piscine problem is to be found elsewhere in the universe. We have an Office of Science and Technology having many Divisions dedicated to the problems of Space Travel.
If Ornithica should wish to send an embassy to Arpwat, The Office of External Affairs, Division of Ambassadorial Issuing will forward the appropriate paperwork to the Office of Permits and Certificates, Division of New Construction, requesting the allocation of appropriate acreage for the construction of an Ornithican Embassy in the Embassy District of Huolt, located in scenic Southern Huolt, convenient to the meat processing district and Ducal prison.

For help with RPing, IC (In Character) is used when you are speaking as if representing your nation, or a character from your nation. i.e. "President (name) would like to express his delight at the success of (nation)'s first ever space flight". OOC (Out Of Character) is used when you are posting as you, the player. i.e. "I am planning for (person) to die in my RP. Does anyone want to RP as the murderer?". Generally, IC and OOC are only used on the International Incidents and Nationstates forums, as they are supposedly IC only, although many people have OOC comments to say. The other threads in the NationStates section of these forums are completely OOC. *tag* is a relic of the pre-Jolt forums, when you could track a thread you were interested in by "tagging" it (by posting *tag* or words to that effect), because it would then be in your post history. Nowadays, it serves the same purpose, but with Jolt's subscription abilities, it is more as a show of interest more than actively for your own benefit.

OOC: Ok I get it now. Wow that's alot of replies. Thanks for all the help with the vocab Stump and Falstur. Also, on the note of geography: are we allowed to be in space, because my region is Lunar VII, a drifting planetoid first colonized by Luna (not related to any Luna in NS, just a Luna used for the story) and then seperated from it. If that's not allowed, then I'm fine with being on Earth.

If you wish to have embassies and open lines of communications, respond or telegram His Excellency Alexander Monroe, and our government will reserve land for your embassy. For now, delegations may be sent, or communications through telegrams. If a delegation is sent, lodging will be provided by our best(and safest) hotels.
Our Space program is developing slowly and wishes help from Stumperian Aero Travel's scientists, possibly to help our own scientists learn better.
However, our economy is good, which is helping push it forward. Although we hope to be a completely and truly free country, we have many problems as a new nation but are working hard to fix them.

As our project will bring our nations closer, it would be nice if you would allow us to send an ambassador over to stay in an embassy.

Our scientists have finally finished their course and passed with flying colours. They should be sent to Ornithica within the next few days to help your scientists. There are 6 scientists we are sending, and 4 top mechanics.

The Office of External Affairs, Division of International Embassies requests that you provide us with your building material of choice and a color for your embassy and any special requests and requirements you may have for the embassy complex. As soon as you provide this information, the Office of Construction, Division of Office Buildings, Subdivision of Embassies (colors) will begin work immediately.
In the interests of fostering international harmony, we wish to inform you of some of the basic laws of Arpwat that consular staff without diplomatic immunity will be expected to abide by.
1. All goldfish, koi, carp, tetras, Siamese fighting fish, betas, eels, and killifish are banned within the borders of the Grand Duchy. Possession of any of these Piscine menaces is punishable by death. The Grand Duke believes that such creatures cause corruption and unhappy cynicism.
2. Recreational pharmaceuticals are legal in the Grand Duchy, but possession and trading in them is strictly licensed by the Office of Heath, Division of Recreational Pharmaceuticals. Applications can be obtained from Room 1-0231F in the Grey Concrete Office Building #2. Possession or trade in such products without a permit is punishable by lengthy sentences in the Ducal prison.
3. Public displays of unhappy cynicism are forbidden except during Unhappy Hour, which is between 6:30 and 7:15 PM the second Tuesday of every month. Displays of happy cynicism are permitted at all times.
We also wish to announce that a combination Tourist's Guide and Investment Prospectus will be made available as soon as the Office of Misinformation, Confusion, And Press Releases, Division of Propaganda and Travel Guides, finishes writing it.

Regretfully, despite the billions of yakas funnelled into space exploration, Serpent Country as of present lacks the spacegoing infrastructure necessary to to open proper exchange with the Republic of Ornithica.

While we would wish to reserve land for an embassy, we are afraid that building a rocket large enough to transport all necessary embassy staff and personel unto Luna VII would bankrupt our entire space exploration program. Instead of a full embassy, may we instead establish a diplomatic website?
