Junior
2nd division/Farm Teams(American Hockey League kind-of teams)

Each country/league can provide 2 teams, excepted for Vilita, which can provide 2 teams + the Yeaddin Squirrels, that were last edition's champions'. Any nation can enter in it but those 6 leagues are taken prioritarly for the cup, which means that their subscription will be accepted before any other in case that there are already 11 countries/leagues entered.

Owls look forward to Defending Title

-----------------------The Yeaddin Owls are primed and ready to defend their title in the Hockey Champions League, coming out of the Atlantian Oceania Region, which extends into the Heartland to assume the clubs from Liverpool England.

-----------------------The Owls are very close to finalizing their roster for the competition, and rumors have insinuated that the roster is infact already complete, just sime dimwit inside headquarters re-organized a bunch of files without telling anyone, and so now they have to search through a bunch of papers to try and find the one with the roster on it.

Likh'gokh Hockeyists Draw Yeaddin
FIX!

A 3-3 match between Likh'gokh Ruth'kah'ba and the Squirrels of Vilitan city Yeaddin saw Vilitan fans go up in arms over the refereeing yet again. The pass prior to Ivar Axehackerssonsson's 2-3 goal was definitely offside, they argued, and when Axehackerssonsson notched in the third goal seconds from time, the Vilitans claimed that the Streeters had seven men (or, indeed, dwarfes) on the rink.

Still, the Streeters have started well in the Atlantian Oceania Western Division of the Champions' League. In the group with four strong Starblaydi teams, and also playing Vilitans, Turorians and a couple of teams from Liverpool England, a 3-3 draw could be invaluable. However, the preliminary stages don't actually really matter - no teams get knocked out initially, but the top two in each division get a bye to the quarter-finals (or Conference Semi-Finals, as they are known here) while the other four teams play off for a quarter-final spot.

Finishing 1st in the North Conference, the Waterloo Wolves have proven themselves not only as the best team in Hockey Canada, but one of the top teams in the Hockey Champions league. Finishing their last 2 games with wins over the Millersville Marauders and the Featherston City Lions, the Wolves now take a break to await the results for the wild-card matches.

Wolves advance ahead to North Conference Finals

Wolves slap Lawyers with restraining order for their defence

Rushing from their win against Robotopolis, Kyle Thomas and Dave Semenko flew back to the Champions league to end up scoring each against the Lawyers Icej. Waterloo opened the scoring when Semenko wired a hard slapshot from just outside the faceoff circles. The puck wizzed behind the Lawyers' goalie's glove and bulged the twine.

The Lawyers didn't go down without a fight though. Early in the second, a lucky bounce from just inside the hashmarks went by goalie Dylan Charbonneau to even the score at 1-1. Then Hugh Budziarek replied with a one-timer a few minutes later.

In the third, the Lawyers tried everything. Resorting to pulling their goalie for a last-ditch effort at trying it up for overtime. But Kyle Thomas intercepted a cross-ice pass in the Wolves' zone and ended up getting the breakaway empty-net goal.

The Wolves will play against the Featherston city Lions, who just mauled the Pyrynn Chromas 7-3. The undefeated Wolves will need to win to advance to the Finals where they will face either the Likh'Gokh Ruth'Kah'Bah from Cockbill Street or Gar-Hallad Thunder from Starblaydia. The Wolves are going to try to maul the Lions in this match.

Wolves knock off Featherston city Lions. Advance to play Coastal Oceans.

Is all this really happening? The Waterloo Wolves are turning heads as they beat the Featherston city Lions 3-2 in OT last night. Dave Semenko emerged the hero in OT before running through the crowd in full equipment. Some say he was mad at a Featherston city fan, others say he just wanted a hug from the beer vendor. Additional goals fromSpencer Blake and leading-scorer Kyle Thomas.

Cam Greer started off shaky between the pipes letting in a quick goal 24 seconds into the game. 3:42 seconds later, Featherston city struck again to take a 2-0 lead into the second. Spencer Blake got the Wolves rolling with a had slapshot from just outside the red line whick trickled in behind the Featherston city goalie. Almost similar to the goal Tommi Salo let in against Belarus at the 2002 Olympics. Waterloo trailed 2-1 at the 2nd intermission.

It seemed like the intermission gave the Wolves new life. Kyle Thomas scored a record-breaking goal 4 seconds into the period, where he got by the centre and wired a booming slapshot under the glove of the Lions goalie. All the hard-hitting and grit of the Wolves wasn't enough as they ended up settling for OT.

Before the OT, Dave Semenko had 2 cans of Red Bull in about 30 seconds. After throwing up, he came into the game more energized and aware than anyone else. He took shot after shot forcing arena attendants to fix the broken glass 4 times by the halfway mark of OT. Luck struck Semenko when he finally connected with the puck and put a 105 m/h shot hitting the crossbar and falling in the back of the net. He celebrated by jumping into the stands and tackling an unidentified man. Some say he was a Featherston city fan, others a beer vendor to soothe his Red Bull problems.

The Wolves play Coastal Oceans tonight, where they'll be sure to give one helluva game. The Oceans beat HKH Haxley 3-2 in an entertaining game. If the Wolves win, they'll play Likh'gokh Ruth'bah'ba in the finals for the title. Already winners of the North Conference, the Wolves won't settle for that... they're going for more.

Ruth'kah'ba One Step Away
Squeeze Through From Wild-Card Stages

Likh'gokh Ruth'kah'ba struggled in the initial stages of the Hockey Champions' League, but in the knock-out stages, they have been outstanding. They have swept aside all the Atlantian Oceania opposition, beating both the Vilitan teams - Turoki Islanders and Lonngeylin Storm Surge - in over-time in the initial stages, before reaching the quarter-final (or Conference final, as it is officially called) against Starblaydian NIHIL representative Gar-Hallad Thunder.

The match was closely fought, but Gar-Hallad seemed uncertain about how to tackle dwarves, and that gave Likh'gokh an advantage. They led 2-0 after the first period, after goals by Geirr Steinsson and Stein Axewielder, and controlled the game from there.

Thanks to the great reputation of Atlantian Oceanian hockey, Likh'gokh have a bye match before the grand Champions' League final next week. They will face the winner of Waterloo Wolves of Hockey Canada and Oliverry's Coastal Oceans - clearly a tricky match, and Likh'gokh should be pleased that they got this bye game.

Well, 4 goals was all the Waterloo Wolves needed to advance through to the finals to play Atlantian Oceanian champs Likh'gokh Ruth'kah'ba for the championchip. If they win, a national holiday will be declared for the countries first championchip in international play. If they lose, they'll just treat it as if the game never happened. But since Hockey Canadians want to win badly, here is the scouting report.

Goaltending: We're not so sure about this considering they finished with -1 Goal Differential in the prelims. But if they made it this far into the league, it must be good.

Defending: Another thing we're not so sure about. 11 goals in 5 games suggests that the forwards may not get much help from these guys. But it could just mean that with only 12 goals against, they're going something right.

Forwards: Probably Ruth'kah'ba's best utility. Striking well and on target proves them to be a great part of Ruth'kah'ba. Frwards will prove a tough challenge for Waterloo

As for the game, the Wolves were like a tsunami against the Coastal Oceans goalie scoring 4 times before the 10 minute mark of the first period. The first was scored on a 2 on 1 play featuring Matt Rederer scoring high. Kyle Thomas scored 2 breakaway goals in the next 5 minutes, and Hugh Budziarek scored on a tip-in from the point.

The Oceans didn't give up though, the second period belonged to them when they scored 3 times on Dylan Charbonneau before being replaced by Cam Greer. The first for the Ocans was scored on a lucky bounce in front, and the second was a hard snap shot one-timer that pinged the crossbar before landing behind Charbonneau. The third was a debatable goal which was claimed to be kicked in but was allowed.

The third period seemed to belong to Thomas who scored his hat-trick goal on a breakaway before being showered with hats. The Oceans pulled their goalie in the dying moments to pull behind by 1 but it wasn't meant to be when Thomas broke out from his zone and slid the puck into the empty net from his own blueline.

Now, Ruth'kah'ba will be the Wolves' toughest opponents yet. They've got nothing to lose... except the game.
