Current Issue: The Jilmund Ban.

The Second Empire of Azerran,
Capitol city of Ebarrat.

Yesterday at 11;23 PM , Empress Tatiana Taurain signed the Jilmund Ban that has now made it officially illegal for Monotheistic religions to operate within the borders of the Second Empire of Azerran.

It is no secret to the people of our nation that the Empress has long been waiting for an opportunity to finalize this latest addition to our law. She first tried to gather support for her stance on Monotheism before she was a Empress shortly after arrived in our nation and joined the Thorned Rose Crown tribe and took the tribal name of : Taurain Whitesand Desertwind. Since she assumed the function of ruler over our unified nation she had long been to pre-occupied with fostering a sence of unity amongst the three great tribes to work on banning organised monotheism.

Since the instating of this law many focal points of Monotheistic religions such as Christianity, Islam, Catholicism, and others have been contacted by government officials and informed that any gatherings and services based on their religions are to be ceased immediately on penalty of arrest and trial.

Those in favor of the law; nearly the entire Tavaroth group within the nation, speaks highly of this law that their Empress instated believing that it is a first good step in driving out the ‘evil’ from the people.

A comment from a Tavarothian; “Once more our Empress proves that she dares what here father did not dare to within the old Land. For every act of kindness that a Monotheist gives one can be certain that there is a snake waiting to strike.”

I]Critics of this law; Predominantly the native Azerran’s , belief that this is another sign of oppression under the rule of the Tavarothians that came here some twenty years ago. Despite this there have been little actions against the law as the native Azerran’s predominantly practice polytheism and ancestor worship.

A comment from a member of the Thorned Rose Crown Tribe:[/I] “The Tavarothians are paranoid. Every time the concept of monotheism comes up amongst my foreign friends and they go completely mad and speak of the malice at the heart of every such belief. I think it’s their experience with the ‘Illuminsts’ or whatever they were called back in their old land that makes them so prejudiced.”

As it stands it is believed that many citizens following monotheistic believes were gather for small gatherings in their homes (which is not yet illegal) or leave the nation for someplace they can freely exercise the tenets of their religion.

Some of the religious centers have refused to comply with new law so far. One Christian church specifically held a gathering for it’s community today in response to the law. Government officials have no reacted to this act in one way or another.
