Aerion Royalty Flees to the Resurgent Dream
Prince Damoen Wasterin stared out the window of his private Business Boeing Jet, a luxuriously appointed jet which included an private suite, full sized shower, lounge area and dining/conference area.
He sat in the lounge area on the comfortable cushioned couches with his wife and young daughter. His wife, Princess Cathrana Wasterin stared out the windows of the craft in a distant way herself. The daughter sat quietly, perhaps scared as to what was going to happen.
The daughter looked up, "Mommy, we left so fast, why?"
Cathrana shook her head, her eyes a bit teary, "It will be ok my darling, we just have to go on a little trip." She knew she was telling a lie. They had to basically flee the country as the military took over the capital. There was no action taken against the Royalty, but she knew it might be coming.
Suddenly, the elderly old woman, the girl's nanny came in. "Would you like to go play?" The daughter nodded. Cathrana smiled, "Yes, go with nanny, I need to talk to your father."
She looked over at her husband, the cousin of the King, "Damoen, are you sure this was a good idea? Going to the Resurgent Dream, we don’t have any ties to them.”
Prince Damoen nodded, “Yes, I am sure. They are a peaceful nation, and I think we can seek asylum there. Besides, we are just on a trip for now. The General has not yet carried out an all out coup, perhaps the Royal Government and agents will take care of things before long.”
Despite his reassurance, Cathrana knew they had loaded up suitcases of cold hard cash as well as liquidating some into gold, and diamonds. She sighed.
Captain Manthe of the private jet radioed in as the jet approached Timon International, “Timon, this is an Aerion Jet. We are carrying dignitaries from the Grand Kingdom of Aerion onboard. Requesting clearance to land on secure runway, over.”

"You are cleared to land." came the simple response.
When the plain landed, the Aerion royals saw a long line of Danaan Royal Guards lined up at full attention to greet them. At the end of the line stood Grand Duchess Nianki, shining in all her preternatural beauty. She wore an elegant green sleeveless tunic and finely made green gossamer trousers.
First Prince Damoen came out, holding his wife’s hand as they stepped down the steps from the plane’s cabin door.
Prince Damoen wore a traditional three piece black suit with a burgundy tie upon which was a tie tack in the seal of Aerion. He had dark hair, a slightly tanned complexion, and deep brown eyes.
His wife had simple blond hair tied up into a bun, green eyes, and model features though she had an intelligent look. She wore a simple white dress, with a plain black shawl around her. Her makeup was done well though.
As the couple stepped half way down the row, their butler quickly came down with their luggage and started instructing the crewmen on the runway on unloading the plane. The nanny came down the steps carefully, with the little girl in hand wearing a coat and a little stylish brim hat.
Prince Damoen and his wife smiled as they approached the Grand Duchess, the Prince offered a half-bow, and his wife curtseyed.
The Prince spoke in a clear steady voice, “Your Excellency, greetings, and we thank you so much for your warm welcome. I am Prince Damoen Wasterin, second cousin to His Majesty King Wasterin X. This is my wife, Princess Cathrana. We have chosen to visit your great nation as one in which it is peaceful.” He did not know quiet who the woman was yet, he was trying to place her, though excellency is a good form of address to use he thought.

Nianki inclined her head. "Of course. You are most welcome. I hope that things are not too bad over there?"
The Prince shook his head, glancing back slightly to see that their affairs were being taken care of, then looking toward Nianki. He clears his throat, seeming a bit embarrased by it all, "I am sure that the Royal Government and their agents will have things under control shortly. I knew of many officers within the Royal Armed Forces, who if they are still alive, are loyal to the Royal Government. They probably simply think the Generals are doing what they think is best for the nation." He clears his throat, glancing nervously at his wife, "I am sure we will be able to return in no time. For now I would love to vacation in the Resurgent Dream with my family." He smiles, "What place would you recommend?"

Nianki arched a broe. "You don't have a destination planned?"
Prince Damoen glanced over at his wife, and smiled a bit. "Well we had some destinations in mind, though only have a very general idea from the brochures of what is in your nation. I have been very busy recently, our personal assistant was taking care of the details."

Grand Duchess Nianki stared blankly at the man for a long moment. He was being serious. It didn't take much to tell that. Still...Nianki shook her head. "There are seven main regions in the Resurgent Dream, of course. I assume that your assistant has an excellent plan in store for you if you truly do intend to visit purely as private tourists."
Prince Damoen nods, "Yes, assuredly he does." He clears his throat, "We of course plan to visit the capital. Perhaps the High Queen would grant us audience?" He clasps his hands behind his back, continuing to discuss as those behind him continued to work on getting the luggage out.

Nianki smiled radiantly. "Of course she will grant you audience. I am sorry. We rather...misunderstood the nature of your visit." Shining muscled flexed lightly as she continued to regard the family curiously. "Feel free to continue your vacation." Nianki stood aside, allowing them to proceed on their way.
Prince Damoen, his wife, and daughter had been touring the Resurgent Dream for several weeks before the Prince sent a communique letter to the appropriate official requesting an audience with the High Queen. They were staying in a luxury hotel (?) in the capital, and he was now ready to present himself to the Queen of the nation he felt.

They saw a lot in their two weeks: Dragons and gryffons in the sky, elegant sidhe whose beauty was literally beyond description, satyrs whose song awoke the most intense passions of the heart, nine foot tall trolls with the strength of the earth, arrogant merfolk in their nude glory, and members of dozens of other fairy races.
When they were back in Tarana and Prince Damoen sent his letter, he was invited to come present himself. The prince was shown through the streets of Old Tarana, of the great Marble City carved of one piece, and taken before the throne where High Queen Agwene sat clothed in green gossamer.
Prince Damoen walked regally into the throne room as he was escorted, and bowed to the High Queen upon the throne. For the occasion, he wore a three piece black suit, with an darker burgundy tie with the seal of Aerion in a pin upon the tie. His wife, and child were not with him.
He bowed, "Your Majesty, it is a pleasure to meet you. We have toured your most beautiful, majestic nation that no words can quiet describe. For it has been more wonderous than what is in the storybooks of my nation."

Agwene nodded slightly. "Thank you for your kind words. We are quite glad to have you here." She smiled lightly, watching him. "You requested an audience?"
Prince Damoen nodded, clasping his hands behind his back, and clearing his throat. He looked on respectfully, "Yes Your Majesty. As you may be aware, there has been a disturbance within my country. One General Amathar Kadolen has taken over the country, and expelled the legitimate government. I, and other members of the Royal Family were forced to flee early on for fear of our lives. This is a totally illegal takeover, and I feel one the international community should take an interest in."

Agwene nodded. "Yes, I have heard." She simply let that hang for a moment, not saying anything else. The courtiers all looked quietly to the queen, not knowing what exactly would happen. These matters were usually unpredictable. "So far, your visit to my lands has been most atypical. I understand that you spent quite some time pretending that you were simply here on a regular tourist excursion. If you are asking asylum, that is easily granted. However, I get the feeling that you are seeking something....more?"
Prince Damoen shifted a bit, though retained his regal stance, and brought his hands to his sides. He spoke clearly, "I would like my family to have asylum here, yes. I had spent time intending this to be only a short stopover, for the Royal Government had plans...but it seems these plans did not succeed. The General is still in control of the country. I would like my wife, and daughter to remain safe in the country while I campaign to free Aerion to other nations."

Agwene arched a brow. "You want asylum including the ability to move in and out of the country under our protection? That is a substantially larger request than simple asylum. Might I ask what exactly you intend to be doing on your campaigning?"
She studied the prince, her face not revealing anything of her thoughts. The eyes of the court remained focused on their queen.
Prince Damoen frowned a bit, though restrained the frown as he spoke further, "Your Majesty, I do not expect to be under your protection while outside of the country. Though I hope that the nations I visit will recognize diplomatic immunity, recognizing myself, and other members of the Royal Family as a quasi government-in-exile. Though I do wish for my family to remain in the safety of your nation."

Agwene listened carefully. "Recognition of a government in exile is a very serious matter, Prince. You speak of it rather lightly. We must confess to a certain confusion as to exactly how you picture our relationship, especially after you brushed aside our aunt's attempt to properly welcome you when first you arrived."
The Prince nods slowly, "My apologies if I caused any insult to Your Majesty, or your aunt. I do not speak lightly of becoming a government-in-exile, but do not yet wish to declare myself as such as this would be an acknowledgment to the people of Aerion, and to those who have left Aerion that the official government is truly in exile. It would be a bad move at this time I feel, and I hope the current state within Aerion is only temporary. My intention is to campaign for international support, but I also have support within Aerion that may come through." He glacned around almost self consciously for a moment at the many courtiers of the various faerie races, being unfamiliar with these species. He was used to dealing with humans, and was more than a bit unnerved. He looked back up at the Queen.

Agwene shook her head sadly. Why was he making this so difficult? "To sum up, you desire asylum and to base your government from my country and yet you do not consider yourselves in exile because your government might come back? EVERY government in exile maintains that it will return to power and that it has the right to do so. That is what defines a government-in-exile as opposed to a former leader seeking asylum. Do you or do you not wish permission to form a government-in-exile in the Resurgent Dream?"
The Prince crossed his hands behind his back, "I only request permission that my family be allowed to remain in asylum within the Resurgent Dream while I discuss my cause with other nations. I am not asking to establish an official office or governnment-in-exile within your nation, as of yet. I am only one member of the Royal Family, albeit in line to inherit the Throne."

Agwene nodded. "Then your request is granted."
The other courtiers looked surprised, even shocked. They immediately began to gossip among themselves, falling back to whisper so that they didn't disrupt court. If Agwene noticed the gossipping, she gave no sigh whatever.
The Prince bowed low this time, with his arm across his heart in a respectful gesture, and then rose. He looked upon her with what appeared to be a sincere look of respect, "I am eternally grateful, Your Majesty. I am indebted by your kindness." He looked at her, and bowed his head.

Agwene simply inclined her head. "Is there anything further?"
Prince Damoen clasped his hands behind his back, "No, that will be all. Thank you for your graciousness, and your time Your Majesty." He bowed once more, and backed away as polite as possible and then turned to leave.
