In an effort to speed the process of repaying the large national debt incurred in its recent fleet expansion, the Mirfakan government has announced its annexation of four resource-rich star systems: IGC278-SS18, IGC107-SS2, and IGC2184-SS24. The Mirfakan government, which selected the systems based on ease of access via planespace, lack of habitation and claim, and prolific and easy-to-access valuable resources, is planning to grant rights to mine the systems to Mirfakan industry for a sizable share of the profits. The territorial expansion is Mirfak's first outside of its home system, and the profits are expected to cut down its debt repayment time by as much as 200 years.
