Picture this: You plan an RP for days (Okay, maybe only a few minutes, but that's less impressive) and even go so far as to plan RP's that you'll have after that RP which will be based on this RP. You have the characters all picked out, you know the history, and even giggle when you think of it. Then you start the RP.......and it turns into a damn clip show!

I tell you, it smacked me right over the head a few minutes ago, right after I made this post (Found here (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=8537880&postcount=8) ). I mean I've even started planning having this woman get married after this RP, and I turned it into a clip show! Can you believe that? Well, I re-read what I'd just posted (As I often do in the hope of catching spelling errors) and I realised that I'd jumped the shark.

For those who don't know, the phrase "jumping the shark" refers to a specific point in a TV series (Or other such fiction, like NS) where the entire thing just goes downhill. It comes from an episode of Happy Days where Arthur 'The Fonz' Fonzerelli jumped a shark on water skis. Many fans of the show point to that episode, and that scene in particular, as when they stopped watching.

Well, I've jumped, and I think it sucks. Drat.

There is nothing to stop you going back to your original post and editing the bits you don't like. Or worse case scenario, completely re-write it.

Not many people, especially hardened vets, can jump sharks. Congradulations! ;)
