Party At the President’s House: All Invited

Allanea

OOC: Basically, I am atempting to reconcile myself with the people who hate me an’ such. If NYNJ is reading this, I apologize for the NYC-related flame war, he knows what this is about. I was at fault, if only for allowing myself to be misread. This is as well an apology to whoever feels he was flamed/insulted by me, though generally I try and avoid flaming people.

IC:

Minas Faerie, Port-Allanea

It was cold. Clouds hung low over the shore, and rain pounded the glass plate windows in the President’s study. On the cover of his synthesizer, a cup of tea was cooling. The boy dropped his long, slender fingers onto the key, and the tune of ‘To Anacreon in Heaven’ reverberated among the tower’s walls, and it seemed that the lightning itself outside was only a titanic accompanement to the music.

He threw the sound setting to the maximum, the windows vibrating slightly to the sound of music, all others sinking into the single euphoria of music, Alexander’s lips seeming to move soundlessly as he sang to himself, his voice blotted out as well Outside, on the pole atop the tower, the Allanean flag was still waving, as if oblivious to the lightning that flashed around it.

Then the music ended. Alexander Kazansky turned around swiftly to face his Vice-President.

“Yes, Malcolm? What have you got for me?”

Malcolm Jennings, the Vice-President of Allanea, paced towards the President, picking up a sketchbook from Kazansky’s desk. “This, Alex. This must end.” The penciled drawings were rendition of an elven girl, one whose features were fainltly remininscent of the face of the Menelmacari Empress. Alexandry flinched, moving his body forwards. “What business is it of yours, Malcolm?”

“It’s ruining you, Alexander. And you’re the President of the United States of Allanea – for the rest of your eternal life. Is it a wonder that I am concerned about your state?”

“Fuck you.” – said Alexander simply, smiling unhappily at the Vice-President. – “So what you suggest?”

“I suggest you hold a party.” – Malcolm Graves replied – “Invite them all. Friends and enemies alike, from Griffin to Reichsburg, from Titan to Earth, let all come. It will do you good and it will do the nation good – no treaties, nothing, just a friedly party.”

“What?” – the President stared at Graves in mild astonishment –“What the hell does a party have to do with…”

“Trust me, it does. Besides, when’s the last time you had a party?”

OOC: Allanea, I know that most people probably wouldnt, but Im willing to give you a fair go for now. If anything looks like it could go wrong though, im out. I think thats fair, but I dont like to hold grudges or the like. Hopefully for you sir, you might even have the chance to prove yourself to others through your roleplay(s) with me. I hope for your sake, you really do try.

Indigo, of whom was currently staying in Iuthia for the wedding of Lord General James deGritz, had recieved a message of compassion from his foriegn representatives back in the homeland, Austar Union. It had been reported, that the United States of Allanea had invited national leaders, both enemies and friends of its ministry, to a simple gathering. Most probably, this could be a fine example of which its leadership was attempting to reconcile with so many broken relations.

For now, it was a failure of foriegn ministry on their part, having forcing their way onto Mars, being beaten back and occupied, and given its freedom and independance again by the Greater Prussians. Though perhaps in future, the Allaneans could be a fine example of someone turning away from their past, into a future of bright hopes and furfilled dreams. And what if it was through the compassion of Indigo himself that their destiny be changed forever? Yes, he would definatly at least try, but if failed, he would have his diplomats leave immediatly, never return for the hopeless. So sending a message to the Allaneans, he hoped that all would go well, and his foriegn ministry would not be made the fool of.

I am filled with compassion when I think of your people's history. It is so sad under the previous leadership and governments. And although perhaps those same people remain in power in the United States of Allanea, I am willing to consider the fact that new ideas and new methods may be undertaken in desisions for the role of Allaneans in this universe. Without being rude, I can only say that the political ministry of Allanea is but a joke of the universe we live in, and one of which is frequently ignored by other's respective departments. Still, despite we have ourselves been undertaking our own methods of ignoring the calls of Allanea to the world, I am given the compassion to at least give you one last opportunity, to prove yourselves different.

Sending Riddick, one of my top representatives will be quite a different mission that one of which I could ever just imagine to be real and of the future, relevant to my nation's own destiny. But perhaps I can for a moment, at least stop to help another, of whom just wants one last chance. And I hope you are willing to take this chance seriously, because if your nation undertakes another course of something I can only consider 'stupidity', you cannot expect such compassion in future, from anyone in the world around you. A silent world isnt much fun.

Yours Truly,

Lord Indigo Blue
Absolutionist State of Austar Union

And the message was sent in the meantime, and the relevant people had been alerted. As soon as a reply had come, acklowledging the sending of Riddick to Allanea as legal and welcome, he would be sent direct from the Austar Union's presense, just north of the Haven Strait. Afterall, Allanea was a Havenic nation, and Havenic Nations, called for Havenic Representatives. Riddick was such a man, of whom fit the job description.

Alexander Kazansky surveyed the goods that were flowing towards Minas Faerie from every end of the Union and from every ally it had. Wine from the Greater Prussian Empire, muffins and cakes from The Silver Turtle, tobacco from the Territory of Hash and venison from Hestonia, crate after crate after crate. Those goods, he thought, were not just a symbol of wealth. They were a symbol, more importantly, of what made the creation of that vast wealth possible. Of peace. Of freedom. Of stability. Of life.

He smiled broadly and began typing.

Your Honor!

It is true that my people have a problem dealing with negotiations, diplomacy, and so forth. That is indeed a failing common to the people of Allanea. Those very men who create a business empire that spans from the streets of Yurka-City to the shores of Praetonia, from the depths of the North-Allanean Sea to the very stars, those whose prowess with weapons and bravery in war has earned them the respect of their allies and fear of their enemies from the skies of Progressi City to the mountains of Axackal, fail miserably at the art of political compromise – it is, unfortunately, alien to us.

I could wax eloquent for pages and pages about why, indeed, it is so that Allaneans have disliked diplomacy since we’re around and before – but I am afraid you will merely accept it as a very bad excuse. It is fitting for someone whose job is to represent his people to make excuses for them. We are, indeed, at fault.

This meeting, if you may call it that, is not official in nature. For a moment, let us all forget about tariffs and territories and troop deployments. I extend to you not even a laurel of peace – that, I dare not offer at this date – but the happy cup of revelry.

Yours sincerely,
President of the United States of Allanea

Alexander,

I've recieved your invitation to your party today, and felt it was necessary to respond right away. I personally will be attending (considering that's who got the invitation!). If you don't mind, a few members of the Praetorian Guard will be tagging along, but that's only because my Ministers would force me to stay here if they don't! Again, if you don't mind, a few of my generals will tag along, if not only to get them out of the office.

Happy Easter and God Bless,

"Alex-who?" the Grand Patriarch Romeo Dimitri Vladimir Sicklecow asked his head butler, Jeeves, while trying to fasten his belt arouind his rather large midsection.

"Alexander, sir, of Allanea."

"And what did he want?"

Jeeves groaned internally. "For the third time, sir, he's having a party and you're invited."

"Interesting," replied the Grand Patriarch, tying his shoes. "Will there be alcohol?"

"I don't know, sir."

"And women?"

"Couldn't say, sir."

"And pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey?"

"Sir, I don't know!"

"That settles it. Any party with booze, girls, and games has to have me there. This is going to be great! I'd better start practicing my tail-pinning right now!"

"I'll let him know that you shall attend, sir," Jeeves said, rolling his eyes.

President Kazansky,

It's been a while, hasn't it? I have to say, I'm pretty surprised that the first thing on Allanea's mind would be a party, given the opinion of the world community towards Allanea right now. I'd probably suggest... neh, but it's not my country to govern. So, whatever this is about a party, I'll come. Want me to bring anything?

Alexei,
Thank you very much for deciding to attend. By any means, your guards, generals, ministers, and their relatives. I have sent invitations to many wealthy and important Allaneans as well, so your escort will not in any way feel out of league. Please accept graciously a gift of quality Hashi cigars, made from Freiburg tobacco.

Subj: Party

Dear Sir!
The party is admittedly more my idea in my capacity as Alexander Kazansky rather than President of Allanea. It’s purpose is, well, to eat, drink, and be merry. This event is not planned to be official in any fashion, and it’s only contribution to diplomacy will be getting people to eat, drink, and be merry, as I already wrote, and thus to broach our differences by, well, having fun. I hope this is not offensive to you in any manner. If this is not what you expected and affairs of state tie up your time too much to go to an actual, real party, that is perfectly understandable.
Yours truly,
Alexander Kazansky

For the first time for a while, within him, Riddick felt a great anger burning. Hatred for the United States of Allanea run deep within his blood, his previous ansestors and friends having fought against their unwelcomed forces. Yes, already there was a great racial hatred towards the Allaneans, and full reconcilliation would surely be difficult, even for the greatest of leaders such as Indigo. Still, forgiveness was a choice he was willing to take, so long as the United States was willing to take this path. Alexander was a man of whom was hated by so many across the universal spectrum, and most would even be unwilling to converse with anyone, which had a similar blood type. In today's society actually, Allaneans had been purged from staying within Austarian borders, not nessasarily by the government, but the deeper racism of the people. Yes, redemption would be difficult even if the Allaneans were serious.

And so he was prepared, for a small journey. It would only take just an hour in flight, so he didnt have to leave right away. Still, it was important to be ready at any given moment, just in case he recieved an order to leave. Even though he did hate the Allaneans, he loved to follow the orders of his one and true master, Lord Indigo Blue.

At Minas-Faerie

The preparations to the party were now in full gear. Crates full of Dersconi wines and beers were being hauled up from the immense cellars of the Presidential Palace, tables were set up in the open air near the enormous main spire, and already some guests where on their way. From Heston-City, Antonio Hernandez, CEO of Allanean Pharmaceuticals, was coming with his family, and the small corporate the jet that bore them just go over the West Axackal state line. From the capital came Kirill Nivensky and his sone Kevin, the family whose name was behind the Allanean Arms company, sowing the wrath of Allanea from Axackal to Yasmarea and from Yurka to Progressi City. From the Territory of Hash came Dagny Taggart, perhaps hoping for another railroad contract, perhaps for the fun involved. With Dagny, you never knew. Not only that Kazansky invited the leaders of the world here, but the leaders of Allanea were also on their way.

Port Allanea International Airport

“So, McCormack, when is that Riddick character scheduled to arrive, anyhow?”

McCormack, shrugged, his jeans jacket flailing slightly in the wind. “In a few minutes. Let’s see if we can recognise him.”

The two officials were a testimony to how varied the people of Allanea. One was a red-haired, green-eyed, calm Irishman, standing at over six-feet tall – your cliché bodyguard. The other, his partner, was a small being roughly resembling a penguin – about three or four feet tall, with a sharp, threatening-looking beak. He was Skreee-Shwee, a Dohwar, and it was not clear whether it was the human or the penguinoid or McCormack who made the better bodyguard.

When they arrived, the Czar asked around for President Kazansky.

President Kazansky,

That's good to know. Personally, I'm getting tired of politics, especially considering I never liked politics in the first place. I could make a joke about how stupid we were to leave government in the hands of politicians, but I'll save them for the party. Is there anything I should bring? Chips? Dip? Turntables?

Yes, Riddick had arrived on the tarmac, landing quite simply at one of Allanea's greatest airport facilities. Men such as these, deserved the greatest, and it was the greatest he would get, even if those darn Allaneans didnt give it to him. And he was most certainly distinct, so it wasnt ever a fair excuse if one was to claim that they never noticed. Eyes blazing a firey red, and a head shaved down to stubble, he was different from the rest. Confidence, power, and might seemed to radiate from his very being, and when being spoken to by this man, you would hear his voice thunder. And this, was the representative, of the Austar Union, of Indigo Blue, his Lord and Master.

Striding across the runway, he stopped for nobody, and even when an Allanean diplomat attempted to greet him, he did not take his hand, rejecting it in simple disrespect. He had a fury within him, his blood ran cold when he was commanded to these shores. Still, he could only obey orders from above, and he was a fierce, and loyal follower. A leader unto himself, great men such as these, like said before, deserved the best. And the best from the United States of Allanea, was hardly good enough.

They ought be thankful...

McCormack didn’t even flinch when the Austarian ignored his attempts at politeness. He merely smiled and motioned him towards a SkyCar waiting by, the penguinoid already positioning himself at the control rudder and placing his flippers on it.

“Sir, our ride.” – he opened one of the vehicle’s doors before Riddick gracefully. “After you. I am your bodyguard for this ride.”

The unmistakable Tiburon Executive Air Jet touched down on Port Allanea International Airport. Although the jet itself was formal enough, it was time for informalities. The President stepped down, armed to the teeth with a Fender electric guitar, an amplifier, and a violin, being followed by the best the universe could offer. The First Lady (female vocals) and Kiro Starfighter (bass) also came, as well as a drummer from the Department of the Interior.

The Czar turned to Alex and smiled. "Hello, Alex! I've been doing well, thank you. Yourself?" The Generals were mostly chatting about classified war material, plans for the newest war machine, and the possible upcoming civil war in a fellow Prussian state. Things that normal people would be shot for knowing, mostly. Arthur Zimmermann was admiring the architecture, and obviously, Czar Alexei was chatting with President Alex.

Alexei motioned with his head to the generals and lowered his voice. "These people never get out of the office -- I think they're workaholics. Don't mind them if they start talking about their job. THey're freaks about it." Alexei shrugged. "Then again, most of them are twice my age, so I'm glad to have them around!"

He smiled again and looked around a bit. "So, what do you have around this place to drink?"

Riddick snickered at the man who called himself a bodyguard. It was indeed quite funny, since he ought to already know that Riddick had been trained in the highest of combat. He could kill beasts of wilderness, and he was most certainly able to take a bullet, or two. Still, he accepted the man's offer to hop inside, and took comfort in its leather seats. Maybe this would be the better part of the journey, or maybe Alex could surprise him with soimething worthwhile.

In the meantime, there was little he could do except to enjoy the ride, and to make what little small-talk could be made with the man beside him.
Allanea
30-03-2005, 19:15
And the ride was indeed enjoyable. The Moller Skycar accelerated smoothly, it’s speed gauge stopping at an indicated four hundred kph. Deep below, one could see an interstate highway become a colourful ribbon, moving fast below, merging the cars below together into one fluid meld of colour. The upholstery, seats, and embedded DVD screens were all top notch, and some ingenuity of the vehicle’s construct eliminated almost entirely the noise of the four oversized engines that were needed to keep the craft in the air.

Swiftly and surely, the Skycar approached Minas Faerie.

Thankfully, my authority is limited and I don’t deal with the day-to-day ‘running’ of this country, unless my Congressmen, Senators, and aides really mess it up. Which does unfortunately happen – but not often enough to prevent me from leading a life of leisur.”

He handed Alexei the glass. “Look! Here’s Riddick!”

As the Tiburonese leaders landed, they were greeted by a small mixed crew of Valaquine, humands, and Dohwar, and two luxury vehicles. “Hello, Mr. Starfighter”, said one of the bodyguards, a tall Jewish man in traditional clothing. “I am Mr. Rosenshtein, and we’re your bodyguards. If the Executive Jet from Tiberon was unmistakable, the Kajali Imperatrix transport was impossible to not view. A vessel worthy of transporting the rulers of many countries, it touched down with little fanfare. The boarding ramp descended silently to the tarmac, and Imperatrix Lirella Keral strode down the ramp accompanied by the ambassador Ilosse Seiran. The two were dressed quite opulently, as was Kajali fashion for such occasions, and it seemed as if the Imperatrix brought forceful winds wherever she travelled, as her rather unmodest clothing threatened to fly away into the sky.

01-04-2005, 17:08
OOC: Actually, I probably used the wrong term when I said 'racist', but Riddick basically disrespects anyone who has an Allanean citizenship. I suppose you could call that racism?

Riddick smiled probably for the first time since he arrived in Allanea. He had arrived at the final destination, the place of which this so called 'party' would be held. Although from what he had been told for now, was that it was probably more so a gathering of few, rather than a party. When something was called a party, one has the impression of many guests, and yet this was apparently quite small. For the most part though, Riddick was even unwilling to be here anyway, and had only attended for the simple commands of his ultimate leader and master. He may be a strong leader in this state, but he was but a servant unto the Lord Indigo Blue.

Stepping out from the vehicle, he was actually impressed somewhat with the ride of which he had been travelling in. The last he knew of Allanea, it was a nation no more futuristic than the stone-age, sent there by the war it had held, and the final occupation by both Federation and Prussian forces. Of course, the Prussians had been quite friendly during the Allanean occupation, which was rather adverse when compared to the occupational forces owned and commanded by the Sentient Peoples. They had been anything less than friendly, rather they had been quite bitter toward anyone Allanean, who didnt adhere to their personal set of laws and standards. And if anyone didnt know the Allaneans, they would soon learn them to be fiercly independant people, who hardly gained the knowledge, much less the understanding of life underneath an outside intervention force.

If Alexander had done one thing right in his life, it would be the way he had brainwashed his citizens. Heck, back in the Allanean war against the now defunct UnAPS alliance, the man had managed to convince prisioners of all people, into running a series of suicidal waves directly into oncoming machine gun fire, and a steady rain of missiles from the Austar Union, of whom was member of that alliance at the time. And such history had not been forgotten, the bitterness of enemies had still run cold through Riddick's blood. His grandfather had fought them, and had been shot. Since then, he had been unable to care for himself, and although he had given life to a new generation, such a disability had led to his eventual fatality. He died stuck, in a nursing home. Such sadness had already risen into new anger against these people. And never once did he consider the half-million Allaneans killed at the hands of his own nation's military forces. They were dogs, apparently, worth nothing more than the ants he tread on. Still.

Riddick stepped forward and began his short hike to the inside of the building which stood before him. It actually wasnt too bad, architechure-wise, and at least Alexander of the United States had decided to respect the people attending, with more than a quick blanket of 'niceness'; instead it seemed that he had reserved such a place as this. And with his heartly attitude lightening just slightly, he entered, allowing his eyes to adjust to the world within. He was right to say it was a smaller gathering, and he wasnt surprised to see the people already here. He was slightly surprised though, when he learned a Kajali to be attending the 'party'. It was unlike them to be friendly towards the Allaneans, yet it was unlike them to even be attending a social function. Anything, it seemed, would go.
Allanea
13-04-2005, 06:03
As Riddick approached the long tables standing at the food of Minas-Faerie, he would be surrounded by a strange and varied group of locals. Some, as Kirill Nivensky, CEO of Allanean Arms, he would probably know from papers or intelligence reports. Others, like Baron Hernandez, who ran Allanea Pharmaceuticals, he would not hear the name of. What was key, as the man would soon learn, that the rich of Allanea have acquired a certain flavor from the Prussian nobility - some, with actual noble titles, others, with education alone. In essence, the locals were a miniature version of a royal court - though perhaps will less jewelry. Some lady asked Riddick of life in Austar Union. A man in a perfect white suit inquired about his travel. Altogether, it was the man's coldness that inspired curiosity.

Kazansky smiled as he saw Riddick approach, looking at his glass through the light. "You see, Alexei," he mused, "those diplomats don't understand. Their power games and treaties are all meaningless. Today, I sign no treaties. I play with no power. Yet what I will achieve today - with the men who come here - is more precious than any words on paper could be if I signed them here and now." As Riddick approached, he saluted him in a friendly fashion. "Good day. Wait a minute as I pour you some wine. Did you meet Kirill yet? Oh, a wonderful chap, really. A wonderful chap. Alexei, this is Riddick, the ambassador from Austar Union, and Mr. Riddick, this is Alexei of Derscon. As for me, no introduction is needed. I am the local... curiosity, if you wish. Everybody's pet demigod." He smiled.

"Or sentient moss. Whichever. The only difference, it seems, is in how much work I have to do. It is an unfortunate fact of existance - call it the Undiscovered Murphy Law if you wish - that people always work more than is healthy for them." - he winked at Riddick with this joke. "So, Mr. Riddick, did you get a good view of the city while you were landing? I hear that they've redone the airport again."

And so he continued to entertain his guests, even as more foodstuffs were brought in, the decorations were set, and, finally, a small woman rose to a stage in the middle of the garden and began singing. "Hush," said Alexander, "This is Eva Linderman, from Nova-Texas. She's pretty good, ain't she?"
Austar Union
15-04-2005, 16:39
Recognising just a few men from around a room, Riddick was more than informed in a way, of which whom was to attend the party. It was known rather well that most of them would at least be Allanean in origin, but at least there were just a few more folk just a little more worthy. Perhaps the host himself could prove himself to him that not all Allaneans were bastard roaches, which needed to be stamped at any cost. Or maybe not.

Everybody's pet demigod," Was the first greeting he got out of the man who he by default approached first. Already, he wasnt on the best of grounds. Calling himself some kind of demigod was by far an insult to any god that might exist. He scoffed.

Or sentient moss. Whichever. The only difference, it seems, is in how much work I have to do. It is an unfortunate fact of existance - call it the Undiscovered Murphy Law if you wish - that people always work more than is healthy for them. - he winked at Riddick with this joke. So, Mr. Riddick, did you get a good view of the city while you were landing? I hear that they've redone the airport again.

Riddick was getting rather heated already. It seemed the man held a lot of pride in the den of what he called a country. And although he was more impressed with the ride over, he still pitied the people here. Or hated them with a vengence, either way suited him fine. And the way Alexander winked at him, as he were an equal, simply disgusting. In the meantime, he kept his internal thoughts and emotions silent, having being trained in that specifically.

Nodding to Alexei of Derscon, he smiled, but kept arms crossed to himself.

Very nice to meet you sir. I have actually read about you myself, and can I say that I found you and your nation quite interesting in some ways. Perhaps one must taste the lifestyle to understand its antics, I expect. Like the United States here too, where I suppose I must experience the people to gain my own position on the world around me. Though, I remain unchanged in attitude. - And Riddick was hardly tactful, rather he considered himself of the highest. He didnt have much of an opinion of Alexei, so any approach to him was neutral if anything, however his approach to Alexander of Allanea, was most obviously cold and filled with the anger of spilled blood. He could never forgive.

Alexei studied Riddick while he was speaking. Cocky little SOB, isn't he, Alexei thought to himself.

"Well," he said, sipping the drink. "I suppose no opinion is better than a bad opinion," he said with a wry smile.

IC:

Ab-shalom and Greetings;

Many appreciations for your most kind invitation. Unfortunately, at this time, our Sultan is unable to attend, but has graciously offered to send one of our diplomats, Ihaba Svetlana von Steinberg, to act as his representative.

Our airliner should be arriving within a few hours; once again, we thank you for this kind invitation, and trust relations between our nations shall indeed prosper in the coming years.

Namaste,
Raahmid Javani
Grand Vizier of Vastiva
Humble Servant of His Magnificence, the Sultan of Vastiva

Aboard the 74SL, Ihaba fussed with her hair - then her makeup - then her dress. If the staff had been actively involved, certainly even the most pious among them would have been driven to drink.

Then again, thought Ihaba,it's not their reputation on the line, it's mine.

She checked the fit of her Sparrow, the weight of her M-TCOD, the placement of her makeup kit and quick-kits.

I suppose that's all the preparation one can reasonably perform...

She began again, just because she could.

Alexander Kazansky smiled to Riddick. It seemed he was nearly impossible to annoy today. "Our antics, you say? Well, I understand that, Mr. Riddick. It is perhaps an unfortunate feature of my people that what most foreigners call "sanity" is not too common here. The people who are elsewhere held as weirdos - goths, punks, Branch Davidians, Trekkies and furries are respectable members of the community here. Look there - " - he gestured at a girl aged maybe seventeen years old standing but a few yards away, careful as not to point to her overtly - "This is Angela McPherson. Her father is a professional Elvis impersonator and a member of Congress, a member of my own party, in fact. That guy with the uniform and the falconer's glove? He's Commodore Cameron. He's a furry with a thing for hawks. And the fellow over the is Napster. He is the owner of a large software company, and he collects American Civil War relics. If you wonder whether the Union infantry hat is real - it is. Kazansky smiled. Allanea is entertaining to visit - but I can understand why foreigners say they wouldn't want to stay.

He smiles at the approaching Vastivan diplomat. Oh, good Morning, Mrs. Steinberg. I believe you're just in time for the evenings First Suprise - and he looked at his watch. - President Nova Starfighter will arrive in a few moments - and he's scheduled to sing a duet with me.

Ihaba gave a wide smile, dipping a partial curtsey - an act which made quite a display of all the promises held within her royal blue dress.

"So kind of you to hold up the... entertainment until I arrived. And it's 'Miss', as I am still quite... " - she lowers her eyelashes a bit - "unattached? At least for the evening... so far."

At the Presidential Palace, Nova and the rest stepped out of the cars- in one piece, as recommended. After putting their things on some sort of disk that seemingly came out of nowhere and flew off to an unknown room in the palace, the drummer followed the disk, while the four others made their way around- eventually (as it always happens) finding Kazansky and Riddick.

Kazansky turned to Nova. "Oh, Mr. Starfighter. We were just talking about you - here's Mr. Riddick of Austar Union, and his Majesty Alexei of Derscon, and Miss von Steinberg of Vastiva. As you see, we have quite a party here... want a muffin?" - and, in a feat of sleigh-of-hand, he produced a chocolate-flavored muffin seemingly out of nowhere.

Riddick frowned at the fact that Alexander repeatedly refered to him as 'Mister'. It seemed as he had not truly realised, as I suppose most people never seem to do. He turned to Alex and politely corrected him after Mr. Nova Starfighter had arrived.

Im sorry to be prudent, but you may refer to me simply as Riddick. That is my name, and that is my title. Like it or not, I prefer it that way...

In the meantime, he turned to the new man standing before him and smiled respectively; something he hadnt exactly done much toward Alexander himself. He extended his hand.

Ah Mister Starfighter, I am so happy to finally meet you. As you probably know, I have been in contact with a lady diplomat by the name of Mitsune before. Quite a nice one too, if I may comment. Stil, she represented Tiburon so well that I could only be fond of your people. You are a generous society, one of a servant's nature, but of a leader's spirit. That is one I hope my own nation has obtained, yet we continue to strive for.
Allanea
18-04-2005, 21:30
Alexander looks at Starfighter, then at a few men with cameras that make there way through the partying crowd

towards him. "Oh, excuse me," he says. "Today is April 19th. Independence Day of Allanea. I have a speech to make."

Seconds later, he begun.

"Friends, citizens, Allaneans!

"I am here with my friends and colleagues - from Tiburon, from Tarasovka, from Austar Union, from Vastiva. Today, I

wish to make an important announcement. I have been in charge of the executive branch of Allanea since the founding of

the nation. For several centuries. I believe it is unhealthy for a nation to be ruled for long by a single leader.

Today, on the anniversary of the day I landed your ancestors on those shores so you could live free, I give you your

freedom. Today, on Independence Day, I am no longer President of the United States of Allanea. It will take a month

until I fully turn matters over to the vice-president, and a few more months until elections take place - but basically, it is

over."

As he spoke, invisibly to the partying ambassadors, far away, in the streets of the major cities, barrels of

Taraskovyan vodka, Greater Prussian beer, Dersconi liquors and TST muffins, as well as kilograms of hashish and

marijuana were rolled out and given out to revelers out celebrating Independence Day.

"My friends, it has been a long journey. Sometimes, we genuinely enjoyed it, sometime we suffered, sometimes we

mourned. But despite all of it, Allanea has kept what's most important - her freedom. In twenty-four hours, I will

no longer be President-for-Life. I will become Alex Kazansky, CEO of Kazansky Industries, graduate of Harvard, but

most of all, citizen of Allanea. A freeman - the highest title anybody can ever bestow on another being - and a

title nobody can bestow, for you must reach it yourself. I am going to stick around - as long as Allanea does. As

long as she is free. And knowing you, my friends, it's going to be a long ride.

"Goodbye, citizens. Goodbye, my fellow Allaneans. Goodbye, friends."

Far, far away, the 30-inch cannon of the Predator Battleships spoke, ringing the first salutes of the day.

They were echoed by a strange thunder from the cities, as drunken partygoers fired off blank rounds, flashbang

grenades, and flares.

Alexander smiled, winking at the audience.

"Happy Independence Day."

Riddick stood there completely shocked. It was probably the most random event to occur since he was arrived, that Alexander would all of a sudden decide to appear to his people. And at that, which such tone... such voice, ugh. He muttered under his breath.

How disgusting...

19-04-2005, 05:27
Imperatrix Keral found herself standing beside Riddick during the announcement, although how she had arrived at the venue without having actually been escorted to it by the host was something that would shortly become something of a concern with the Allanean president.

"They are revolting... The fools didn't even send an escort when I arrived at their airport... At the very least, I should slap that fool for his insolence."

The Imperatrix took a sip of... something, a drink of sorts being served at the party, and messed up her face.

"Even their drink is vile... If you'll excuse me, I have someone to slap."

Imperatrix Keral walked up to Alexander, and smacked him across the face, her fingernails biting his skin.

"If one is to be invited to an event, it would be appreciated if one did not need to find their way to the event themselves from the airport. The severity of your ineptitude in this matter is simply staggering, and the crude display put on, the drunken, drug induced orgy that I have seemingly been invited to, nay subjected to... is repulsive."

The Imperatrix had always had a flair for the dramatic.

OOC: Sorry for not responding... I was out for a couple of days. And now I have to respond to everything

IC: "Muffin? Oh, no, thanks, that's quite all right." Nova smiled in his usual way; serenely, but not hinting at anything. He turned next to Riddick, and took his hand. "Mitsune? Yes, she's one of our best ambassadors. We all try to strive for that goal- it's based on an old Tiburonese saying. 'Perfection in war, that we may fight and win, but never allow any to see death. Perfection in peace, that we may forget our war, and work for the future. Perfection in life, that we all may be good citizens for eternity.' I'm quite glad to see that the idea's caught on."

...

As Alex made the announcement, Nova stood there, still smiling, but now ironically. This is his idea of a nonpolitical party? But it was his party. Whatever he saw to do fit...

Besides, it's not as if the idea wasn't something Tiburon hadn't been hammering on for centuries. The idea of a president-for-eternity didn't particularly settle well with him or his countrymen.

So he stood there, not saying much... until, of course, the Imperatrix went about and slapped Kazansky. That was unexpected.

OOC: I think it would be apparent by now that we sent people out to the airport to greet newcomers.

IC: Kazansky smiled. It seemed, from his expression, that the slap has never happened. "The greeting team must have gotten lost. At any rate, while I certainly did not intend this to be a drug-induced orgy, you are certainly welcome to my stash. It's Allanea here, after all." He then looked at Starfighter: "So, Nova, now that I am free from my obligations, are you willing to help me entertain my guests with some music?" He pointed to a small clearing where a synthesizer already stood, together with various entertainment. "Or do you want some wine first?"

...

In the meanwhile, a team of three bodyguards was still waiting for the Kajali Imperatrix - at the airport, over a hundred miles away. Why and how did they manage to miss her was to remain a complete mystery for Secret Service Internal Investigations.

President Newman sat at his desk, reclining back with his eyes closed as the doors opened. Two intelligence officers walked in quietly, put a small folder on his desk, and walked out. Newman opened his eyes eventually, eyeing the folder as he wondered what was inside.

Upon opening it, he found a simple one-page report outlining the resignation of the Allanean President. Newman promptly read the report, put it back in the folder, and put it in the 'Read' box next to his desk. He put his chair back into a reclining position and closed his eyes once more.

When the Kajalian (OOC: Don't remember the name) slapped Alex, the Czar's Praetorian Guard formed around Alexei, while three of them were about to slice the Kajalian in half with their lightsabres (Yes, the Czar employs Jedi) when Alexander just smiled. They backed off. Alexei's phone went off.

"Excuse me," he said, holding up the phone.

"Hello?....Oh, hi John....Oh? A new Antichrist? How pleasent. Name?.....Ratzinger? German, then. Anything else?.....METEOR?!? Christ! How's the Shogun?....Okay, that's good. You need me over there?....Okay, see you there."

Official Response from the United Solaris Federation of Tiburon

We are overjoyed to learn that elections shall commense in Allanea. We would elaborate on the matter, but we suspect our endless hammering on the issue already speaks for itself.
------------------------------------------
Nova was a little hesitant to decide, in reality. He hadn't expected this many people to show up... and he did get stage fright at times. On the other hand, he'd experienced alcohol in Roania, and he was determined never to let that happen again.

"Uh... I don't drink that much, truth be told. The music, then, I suppose..."

OOC: You have to consider the fact that he's about 20 years old.

OOC: Well, this presents a slight problem, namely that Nova's already taken. (Roania got to him first.) We could use the slightly younger (17 years old) brother Kiro, standing approximately 2.5 feet away. I'll stick with Nova now, and change it based on your response.

IC: Although trying to appear calm about the situation, Nova did turn a noticable shade of red, which was understandable, given his temperament. Trying to find a way not to respond or look the extremely attractive Ihaba directly in her eye, he responded to Kazansky's query, "I... uh... was thinking... ma- maybe... Bohe...ha..ma.. ha." Then, trying harder, he finally managed out the name of the song (which was, of course, Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody").

"Wonderful," said Kazansky, sitting down at the synthesire. He punched out a few keys on his PocketPC and let it lie in front of him, displaying the relevant notes to him as he began playing - uncertainly at first, as he has not played this tune for a long time, then with passion and skill, as he allowed the memory of the song take over.
