The Formation of Nedalia

Nedalia
24-03-2005, 21:24
Nedalia, a country made up of a group of islands of the eastern coast of Africa, has officially declared its nationhood to the international community today. After holding compulsory elections for all citizens over the age of 18, the country elected a new leader, President Bren, who has invited all world leaders to accept his invitation to visit this new, beautiful, tropical country.

LATEST NEWS FROM NEDALIA:

Reporting live from Kafra, the capital of this grand country, the government has announced that its doors have opened to the outside world. Nedalia, which has had zero contact with the outside world until earlier today, has two sites of entry: the Kafra seaport, and the small runway strip situated outside the capital. Both entry points can handle limited cargo and passengers, but the government has promised that it will place sufficient amount of money aside in order to expand the facilities when it becomes neccessary.

In the government press release, these were the main points they presented:

- To begin diplomatic relationships with nations around the world.

- To open up a television station, funded by government money.

- Introduce an industrial sector to Nedalia, both government and privately owned.

- Develop the commercial sector of Kafra. Currently, the biggest business is Riviera Farm Products, which has 11 stores and facilities around in the capital of 1.1 million people. The tallest building is the Ezzeddine Government Building, which stands 10 stories high. Most roads are unpaved, except the major roads. Almost all residential areas have unpaved roads.

- To bring investment into the country.

The government also introduced Nedalia Airlines, showcasing its only airplane, an Airbus 320 leased from the Airbus facilities in France. Have a look:

Nedalia Airlines' A320 (http://www.airbus.com/product/a320_introduction.asp)

The government, and President Bren, hope that countries around the world will accept the invitation to come visit, and perhaps, invest in this fabulous new country.

The Free Land of Nedalia has sent out an official letter of intent to exchange embassies with the Kingdom of Alidor. President Bren has sent out a small letter to the only Nedalian newspaper, Nedalia Today. In his letter, the President stated:

"We have begun our mission to make Nedalia the greatest nation the universe has ever seen. We are still humbly poor and drastically under-developed, but we feel that we have taken the first step in the right direction with our acceptance of Mr. John Watson, a representative of the Alidorian government, to exchange embassies with that fine kingdom. We are awaiting their response, and if it is favorable, we will be dispatching Mr. Anwar Ustede as our representative to the Kingdom. He will look first hand at the facilities being offered, and if all is favorable, we shall establish our first embassy. This is the dawning of a new age, we hope you will enjoy the great ride, you great Nedalian people."

Strong words from the President, indeed very optimistic. The Kingdom of Alidor, ofcourse, has yet to respond to the acceptance of the invitation. It is said that there is a few details that will need to be worked out, certain regulations that the Nedalian government has presented to the Alidorian government. In turn, it is also expected that the Alidorian government itself will present its own regulations. Reporting live for BBC, this is Shadia Diamond, official BBC Correspondant to Nedalia.

At the moment, it just links straight to the NS homepage, which means it will go straight to the nation page of the person clicking the link...

Mr. Simon Baites,

We are glad you have taken a liking to our new nation. Indeed, we might not be impressive as of yet due to the fact that we have just established connection with the outside world, but we are developing quickly and the character of our citizens does not to go against that. Upon saying that, we will more than welcome yourself or any other representative you may want to send to our proud country, and we offer to begin negotiations on starting up embassies in our respective countries. We hope you accept our invitation and hopefully, we will have official diplomatic relations. Thank you for your time.

Dear Mora Otu,

Indeed, a country like yours deserves any compliment it receives. We will be awaiting the delegate dispatched by your government in the grandest fashion we can. We will be sending a representative from our side, with your permission ofcourse, Mr. Stand Herst, to Ravea to begin the discussion of opening up the embassies in our respective countries. With Mr. Herst will be a our part of the negotiation. Here it is:

- There should be a permenantly assigned protective team to all Nedalian citizens who work at the embassy. We expect, including Mr. Herst, there would be 20 Nedalian embassy workers dispatched. The protective team's sole assignment should be to protect the Nedalian workers, and in case of political or military upheaval in Ravea, gather up and escort the Nedalians out of the country safely.

- The land on which the Nedalian Embassy shall be placed upon will be recognized as Ravean land that has been granted to Nedalia as ITS OWN property until the embassy is moved from that location. All laws of Nedalia shall be effective on this land, but consideration for Ravean law shall also be implemented.

- We shall not, under any circumstance, accept any espionage activity, at ANY LEVEL, towards and against our embassy. Therefore, we must ask that the Ravean government let us provide our own satellite signal through which we will guarantee the Ravean government that the signal will only be used to and from the Embassy.

- All Nedalian workers, including the Ambassador, shall be granted Diplomatic Immunity by the government of Ravea. If, for whatever reason, a crime is commited by anyone of these Nedalian citizen, the citizen shall be detained by Ravean authorities until a representative has been sent by Nedalia to claim the citizen. The Ravean authorities, at that time, are to fully comply with the Nedalian representative and hand the citizen over. We, in turn, will guarantee to collaborate with Ravean authorities in the investigation, and if found guilty, punish the citizen to the maximum penalty.

With that out of way, we will most certainly accomodate any stipulations you might have to building an embassy here in Kafra. We shall provide one of our finest facilities to your delegates without hesitation. We are hoping here in Nedalia for a long and successful relationship between our two countries.

We will provide the money to build Nedalia's embassy as a goodwill token. We also would like to thank Nedalia for providing a building for Ravea's diplomat.

Ravea will send Diplomat Belanova Orlove as our representitive. We will await and warmly greet Mr. Stand Herst on our side.

Mr. Simon Baites,

I have just received word directly from President Bren telling me about his pleasure that your fine and beautiful country will be sending delegates to Nedalia. In response, we have prepared our own delegation team that will be dispatched to Falastur, leaving in the morning. They will be headed by Ms. Diana Domina (a very powerful, controlling woman if I may say so myself), who will become the next ambassador to Falastur if the negotiations go well, which we hope they do. We have issued our conditions to building a Nedalian embassy in Falastur:

- There should be a permenantly assigned protective team to all Nedalian citizens who work at the embassy. We expect, including Ms. Domina, there would be 24 Nedalian embassy workers dispatched. The protective team's sole assignment should be to protect the Nedalian workers, and in case of political or military upheaval in Falastur, gather up and escort the Nedalians out of the country safely.

- The land on which the Nedalian Embassy shall be placed upon will be recognized as Falasturian land that has been granted to Nedalia as ITS OWN property until the embassy is moved from that location. All laws of Nedalia shall be effective on this land, but consideration for Falasturian law shall also be implemented.

- We shall not, under any circumstance, accept any espionage activity, at ANY LEVEL, towards and against our embassy. Therefore, we must ask that the Falasturian government let us provide our own satellite signal through which we will guarantee the Falasturian government that the signal will only be used to and from the Embassy.

- All Nedalian workers, including the Ambassador, shall be granted Diplomatic Immunity by the government of Falastur. If, for whatever reason, a crime is commited by anyone of these Nedalian citizen, the citizen shall be detained by Falasturian authorities until a representative has been sent by Nedalia to claim the citizen. The Falasturian authorities, at that time, are to fully comply with the Nedalian representative and hand the citizen over. We, in turn, will guarantee to collaborate with Falasturian authorities in the investigation, and if found guilty, punish the citizen to the maximum penalty.

Ofcourse, we shall accomodate any conditions you may have. We look forward to meeting your delegation. An embassy in our finest neighborhood has already been furnished for the comfort of your delegation. Thank you for your time.

LATEST NEWS FROM NEDALIA:

This is Shadia Diamond, BBC Correspondent in Nedalia. Behind me you see the first government owned facility opening its doors. Employing just under 1,000 people, it is unclear what the purpose is behind the opening of this chemical plant. It has officially been called Grofta Chemical Plant, named after the town of Grofta which it is situated right outside of. The town itself is estimated to have 30,000 residents, and no matter who we interviewed, it seemed no one had any idea what they will be doing in the plant, they were just happy to get jobs. The official word from that government stated that the plant would be used for the advancement of the quality of life in Nedalia. As I have very much experienced, electricty and running water, outside of the capital city of Kafra, is very hard to come by, and there has been talk that the government plans to address those issues with this plant. It is a huge facility, so big, in fact, that I would not be suprised if the government used most of its budget on it. It certainly sheds light on the fact that despite the freedom people have in this country, the government still has a very large shroud of secrecy around it. Reporting live from Grofta, Nedalia, this is BBC's Correspondent to Nedalia, Shadia Diamond.

LATEST NEDALIA MILITARY NEWS

The recruitment offices closed today at 7 PM, and after only 1 day of operation, they already have 734 registered members of the army. The soldiers, which are given the substantial pay of 500,000 Kafraleons ($50) a day for active duty. Ofcourse, right now, none of them are on active duty. Officials expect atleast 3,000 registered soldiers by the end of the week, and the predicted fall off will happen. At that time, the government will appoint 5 Generals to serve under Commander Horacio, who has been given the power over all aspects of the Nedalian Army.

Commander Horacio is believed to be a former Basque rebel general in Spain before coming to Nedalia. The reasons why he came to the country are unknown, but it is believed the Spanish authorities were close to capturing him, so he fled to a country he knew they would have no access to. A ruthless man, he is fiercely loyal and is known for his no nonsense approach. He is extremely skilled in the field of war. The President, with the blessing of the government, believe he is just the man for the job.

LIVE FROM THE KAFRA AIRSTRIP

Nedalian authorities greeted Michael Tebbs from Falastur, Belanova Orlove from Ravea, and Jeffery Whittaker from Alidor today, escorting them directly from the Airstrip to the capital. Nedalian officials said the new ambassadors all had the same remarks: the country is terribly underdeveloped but its potential is so high it cannot be scaled. Later that evening, Nedalian Airlines A320 took off with Mr. Anwar Ustede, Mr. Stand Herst, and Ms. Diana Domina, taking them to Alidor, Ravea, and Falastur respectively. They have been asked to report back to Foreign Affairs HQ in Kafra within a week of settling in.

The new ambassadors were each shown their HQ in Kafra on Shorelane Boulevard and Redrance Boulevard, before each was escorted by their own personal protective team assigned to them, as promised by the Nedalian government, to their respective estates. After they get their rest, they will be attending a dinner party thrown by President Bren himself, where the new ambassadors will mingle with everyone of importance in the country of Nedalia at the Presidential Palace.

To whom it may concern.

Let me take this opportunity to first of all extend warm greetings to your nation as it makes its first bold steps into the international community! It is always good to see up and coming nations with lots of enthusiasm! Beyond our standard request for exchange of embassies...

The Regime of Adejaani is not known for many things, but the one thing we take pride in is a significant indigenous aerospace industry, namely AGI (Adejaani Government Industries). I direct your attention to The Omzian and Adejaani aircraft storefront (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=278248) and in particular, the AFD-9 Wasp (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=7458313&postcount=734).

If you agree, AGI will help set up a fledgling aerospace industry, typically manufacturing components for inclusion into our finished products; or similarly, we manufacture components, which you'll receive and assemble, for your own needs. While AGI primarily deals with aerospace concerns, they are active in other manufacturing and industry sectors and they can help develop your nation's industries and infrastructure as well.

All we ask in return is your friendship and a small percentage of profits in the form of royalties, for example. However, all things are negotiable and I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Yours Sincerely

Dewars Strand, Minister of External Affairs for Nedalia,

I am happy to say that we are willing to fully comply with all of your demands for the protection and safe-keeping of your Consular staff. In return we request only that the same regulations are upheld in Nedalia for the protection and safe-keeping of our own Delegation, with of course the names "Falastur" and "Nedalia" interchanged. We look forward to many years of friendship between our nations, and also heartily congratulate you on your recent successes - that of the opening of your first Government-owned industry and of the creation of your military, as well as the many smaller triumphs I am sure you have achieved. I can tell it will not be long before Nedalia becomes a great nation in this world.

Yours Sincerely,

Simon Baites,

Mr. Caeser Knox,

We thank you for this opportunity you have presented to our humble nation. We have taken great interest in your program and your industry, and the issue is being reviewed by President Bren himself. We would like to take this opportunity to invite you, or a representative of yourself, to Nedalia to discuss and negotiate the matter further. We hope to that our interests will coincide with yours. To make matters simpler, we have put our specific interests down on paper for you now:

- We currently have 1 airstrip on the outskirts of our capital, Kafra, that can barely handle the passenger influx we receive. It cannot, in its present form, support any military activity. We would be very interested to offer you the contract to develop a reasonable military airfield. If interested, we have already selected a location for it (on the outskirts of Strundanne). Negotiations on the topic will be discussed when (or if) you or your representative arrives in Nedalia.

- We have looked over your stock, and in most cases, it seems there is an agreement that the aircraft are obselete. We are, however, interested in the purchase of the AFD-9 Wasp. As you might have read, most of the government budget was spent on the Grofta Chemical Plant, but we still have some spare money to play with. Negotiations on the subject, again, can be discussed once the delegation arrives in Nedalia.

- We are interested in pursuing Adejaani investment in Nedalia, especially in the area you specialize in, the aerospace industry. We would love to discuss the potential and the possible implementation of this investment, in whatever form in may be.

- We would like to discuss the possibility of beginning official diplomatic relations with your great country. Talk of an exchange of embassies will be a good place to start.

With that out of the way, we will, again, like to extend our humble invitation to your delegation to visit our country. We hope you will accept this invitation and we hope to see you soon on Nedalian soil. Thank you.

Mr. Simon Baites

We would treat your ambassador and delegation with no less respect that we would treat our very own diplomats. We hold Mr. Tebbs in very high esteem, indeed he was the life of the Presidential Party! We also expressed to him our desire for him to review our charter we presented to him. The charter talked about the possibility of Falastur investing in Nedalia, presenting where such investments would be recommended. They were:

- The proposed expansion of Kafra Airstrip. The Nedalian government has felt the need to expand the airport to properly accomodate any international airlines that may want open routes to Kafra. We also discussed the possibility of opening an airline route between Falastur and Nedalia. Details on that subject were not presented, just the idea.

- The Nedalian Government has been hard-pressed trying to find enough funds to support a Natural Gas Power Plant to provide electricity for the Kafra and its suburbs of Pleasant Hills, Verde, Frontanne, Inesstrid, and Lourmerre. Currently, only certain parts of Kafra and Pleasant Hills experience 24 hour electricity. Details were not discussed, but if this is of interest to your government, we will be very interested to discuss it further.

We hope Mr. Tebbs has had kind words to say about our country. Ms. Domina reported back this morning and told us she was treated with the upmost respect and that the facility presented to her were first class. We have been very impressed with the class your government has shown. We hope this is only the beginning. On behalf of myself and Mr. Bilal Shaheed, the Minister of Foreign Investment, we thank you for your support and time.

OOC: Thank you for the compliments. Its only my first day, lol, but Im trying to learn, reading different RPs and NSwiki sites. Still very confused, lol, but the attempt is there!
Adejaani
25-03-2005, 12:19
OOC: To speed things along, just imagine Knox hands the folder to whoever needs to get it, then you can post on your side at the reception or meeting or whatever. The "meet and greet" we can dispense with if you want. Go straight to the negotiations, as if Knox has said everything officially.

IC: Knox stretched out on the surprisingly comfortable seat. A small number of stretched C-17 Globemaster III military transports had been converted to VIP purposes when something more low-key was required. Given that main airport in Nedalia wasn't something to cheer about, Knox had quietly consigned himself that he might have to land on uneven ground then walk his way to the welcoming party. At least I had the foresight to have them pack a Four Wheel Drive type military jeep in the back.

With a frown and stroking his beard, he opened the folder containing his scribbled notes once again and read the offer:

Allowing "renting" of military equipment, with provisions of "free" instructors, trainers and all maintenance included. For example, "renting" a fighter squadron, with the only worry being finding your own pilots, we handle the rest. However, if "renting", you will eventually have to pay double the "sticker price" for the aircraft (or a replacement if it's worn out, but at no extra cost) and no longer have the "free" trainers, instructors and maintenance staff.
For starters, as a sign of goodwill, a squadron (twelve/12) AFD-9 Wasp will be delivered "for free", with free instructors, trainers and maintenance for a period of ten years. Other aircraft will be covered under the "rent" clause as outlined above.
Building infrastructure for your nation (eg airports, seaports, highways etc), with a general repayment option of 120% of the "net cost", twenty percent every twenty years at maximum. For example, if you want us to build you a 100 million dollar airport, you pay twenty million every twenty years, for a grand total of 120 million dollars after one hundred and twenty (120) years.
Any other equipment (eg military or civilian) that's not in AGI's current portfolio can be speficially requested (like warships, tanks, coast guard cutters etc), either existing designs or setting requirements for them. In either event, the "buying" of these products generally fall under the "rent" and the "building infrastructure" payment methods.
Technological advances, as well as perishable skills (teachers, doctors, police officers etc) can be "bought", though it would depend on what you seek and the "price" may vary.

Knox rubbed his eyes and set the folder aside. He'd made a career on this diplomatic smooth-double-talking. Idly, he wondered if it was time to retire, maybe spend the days looking out over a fishing pond instead of like this, cramped into the back of an aircraft as it made a bumpy landing on foreign soil. Show time.

Mr. Strand, Minister of External Affairs for Nedalia,

I must say that I am honoured by the comments you have made, and we intend to uphold our highest levels of accomodation for your Consular staff. Mr. Tebbs did indeed have many a kind word to say about Nedalia and its peoples. Infact, I do remember him commenting that the views out into the Indian Ocean from Kafra rivalled those over the Bay of Velarie and the South Atlantic from Terila - high praise indeed.

As to your charter, and its potential to invest in the future of Nedalia, has been hot debate within the higher echelons of Falasturian Government. Having debated this issue, I have been authorised by His Most Benevolent Imperial Majesty, Emperor Matthew VI, to suggest to you the following:

- The negotiation of a sum up to an including ~H~25,000 million (roughly equal to $38,500 million, or $38.5 billion in American terms) to be given as a one-time, repayment-free sum to the nation of Nedalia to be spent however you wish, with further payments possible.

- The expansion of your current airport in Kafra to municipal status. We are willing to contract out a number of Falasturian architectural, construction and furnishing companies to complete this task, at no expense to yourselves. Of course, you are welcome to become involved however you wish. The actual workers involved may be of Falasturian or Nedalian nationality, whichever suits your purposes better. Those same companies will happily set up offices inside Nedalia if you so wish, allowing for the creation of numerous jobs, which would further help your employment levels. However, this is of course, your decision.

- The creation of a airline of dual nationality between Nedalia and Falastur, to serve the needs of our peoples and further promote trade and tourism between our two great states. We are perfectly willing to afford you the leading role in the creation of this airline, and we will do our part where we can, wherever you ask of us.

- The temporary transfer of Military Staff, to train your military to whatever standard you demand of it and we can provide. We will also readily declare Protectorate status over your nation until such a time as you feel ready to handle your own defence by yourself. Of course, Protectorate status is a controversial subject, and often not to be overlooked, so we understand that you may not wish to take us up on this offer. Should you choose to, of course you will be free to veto any movement of troops into Nedalia by Falastur - we would not move any without your requesting it anyhow, but we feel it may be important to you to obtain this right. You will also have the right to end the Protectorateship at any time you choose.

Please do not hesitate to ask of us anything else which we may provide you with, if you feel it necessary.

Yours Sincerely,

Simon Baites,
Minister for Foreign Diplomatic Relations,
On behalf of His Most Benevolent Imperial Majesty, Emperor Matthew VI of Falastur and the Empire

Mr. Caeser Knox,

We are honored that you took it upon yourself to visit our humble nation. As you might have seen for yourself, our infastructure is badly underdeveloped, but our spirits and hopes are high as can be. We think the meeting between us was most favorable, and we have carefully reviewed your charter and your offers. The final desicion, ofcourse, went to the President himself, and he sent out this memo to transport to you:

- While we are not interested in "renting out" aircrafts, we are interested buying the squadron of AFD-9 Wasps, which we are led to believe you have priced at $180 million. If possible, we would like to make a down payment of $80 million, and then $20 million in installments every year henceforth.

- We are very interested in acquiring the skills of some of your very best trainers available. We have had a few signups for pilots, but we have no one to train them. The price is an issue we would need to discuss, but we are indeed very interested.

- We are curious as to what type of technological advancement you can offer us. Please be specific when you can.

- We are in agreement over the payments for having you construct the Military Airfield outside of Strundanne. We would like to know when we should make the first payment, when you are expected to begin work on it, and when it is expected to be completed. We have drawn an outline of what we would like in the airport:

- We would like standard facility with 6 hangers, each with capability to repair aircrafts.
- A Tower with a radar strong enough to see for atleast 100 miles out.
- Two runway strips that can handle any large cargo vessels that might have to land on it.
- A state of the art military terminal.
- Enough generators for the airport to provide power for itself.
- We want the airfield to cost no more than $200 million.
- We ask that you allow some of our construction planners and workers to be involved in the project as well.

- We propose the exchange of embassies to official begin diplomatic relationship between our two fine nations. We will greet any delegation you may send with the upmost respect.

We hope that we can be in agreement over the conditions presented by President Bren. We look forward to both economic and political friendship in the future. Thank you for your time.

Mr. Simon Baites,

We are humbled by your fabulous gestures. We see a truly great relationship beginning to develop between our humble nation and your great one. We are, however, wary to accept the "free" money you speak of. We are not a nation that wants to build its economy on gratuity. We are, however, willing to accept the money if is provided to us as a "loan" which we will pay back as quickly and efficiently as we can. We would also be very much interested in contracting any Falasturian companies, and they would be more than welcome to open up their offices here in Nedalia. Developing the airport to municipal standard is an idea we will be very interested in, and we will also take a very hands on approach with the Falasturian without getting in the way.

Once the airport has neared completion, we would also be very interested in starting an agreement between the flagship airline of Falastur and Nedalia Airlines on the a route between the two nations. This will benefit both countries greatly and do wonders for a tourism industry we are now attempting to develop.

We regret to inform you that we have respectfully declined your kind offer to have us as a Protectorate until we can develop a military strong enough to ward off inevitable intruders. Having said that, we are currently in negotiations with Adejaani to build our very first military airfield. If all goes well, once that is completed, you will be more than welcome to be catered by us at our new facility.

On a seperate note, I had lunch with Mr. Tebbs today. We had a thorough debate about the Grofta Chemical Plant, which we took him to visit yesterday. He stated slight concern about what goes in there secretly, but we have assured him it is nothing to worry about. The conversation then turned light-hearted, and we talked about the Nedalian Lion and its splendor. Quite a character indeed, that Mr. Tebbs.

We thank you again for your time. On behalf of myself and Mr. Shaheed, Minister of Foreign Investment, we salute you and great nation for your interest in our humble one.

Mr. Strand, Minister of External Affairs for Nedalia,
c/o Ms. Diana Domina, Ambassador for Nedalia to Falastur and the Empire,

We are honoured to have such a prestigious position in the development of such a lively country, filled with such potential and determination as yours. Anything we can do is simply a delight, and we are humbled that you have such kind words to say of us.

Although we offer this money freely, as a gift, we can understand your point of view. We ourselves would have similar sentiments as to the recieving of money, and we have met such sentiments numerous times before. We of course will not so much as attempt to force this money upon you, however if you wish to recieve it and pay it off at an undisclosed date, we are perfectly willing to accept this. You may pay the "debt" back to us as and when you wish, it is entirely your choice. On the front of the expansion of your airport - we have approached a number of companies as to this project, and have accepted the bids from Imperial Construction Ltd., Golden Star Architects and Faathelas Interior Designers PLC, along with several contracts for lesser roles, such as material resources suppliers, etc. Unless you have any complaints, Golden Star employees and associated quantity surveyors numbering around 100 persons will arrive within a fortnight to survey the land and ready plans for this upgrade. They will be joined by representatives of several other companies involved in the project, who will establish offices and bases of operations, with the intention of beginning recruitment across the board in less than three months.

As for the proposal of a municipal airline between our two nations, the details of the idea are currently under some consideration in Falastur. With any luck, the Falasturian half of this airline should be largely laid out in less than two months, ready for concrete plans to be laid down between our two Governments, and future Company Directors.

Do not trouble yourself as to our offer of Protectorateship. You are of course under no obligation to accept it, and we realise that it is a difficult and contentious issue. Think no more of the idea, unless you especially wish to.

Indeed, Ambassador Tebbs is quite a character. We consider him to be one of the great up-and-coming Ambassadors of the future within our Consular Division of the Government, and are glad to have found him such a grand appointment as your nation. Indeed, it is especially satisfying to have allocated him to a nation where the Ambassador and the Government he represents us before have such a profound respect for each other. I have read a recent report on Nedalia, and was impressed upon how strongly he feels for Nedalia. I myself met with Ambassador Domina only yesterday, and found her to be in every way the equal of many of the more established Consular Staff I have entertained in the past. It is most impressive that Nedalia has sported such a high-class Delegate for diplomatic representation in such a short time since its founding. Indeed, I will be meeting with Ms. Domina once more in five days' time, when she is due to meet His Most Benevolent Imperial Majesty, Emperor Matthew VI himself along with a number of high-ranking Government officials for her official welcome to Terila, and to the Unified Provinces of Falastur. I hope on that occasion to have a chance to speak with her on less formal matters, and perhaps see further some of her charming personality - no doubt it is every bit a reflection of the average Nedalia citizen, charming as I am sure they are - which has only begun to brush off upon me.

Once more, I must conclude by impressing upon you what a priviledge it is to take such an important role in such a grand and momentous occasion as this, the awakening of Nedalia onto the international stage. On behalf of the Emperor, of many of my collegues who are just as involved as I "behind the scenes", and of the entire Empire, I salute your fine nation, and hope to have the honour of corresponding with yourself or your fellow countrymen in short order.

Yours Sincerely,

Simon Baites,
Minister for Foreign Diplomatic Relations,
On behalf of His Most Benevolent Imperial Majesty, Emperor Matthew VI of Falastur and the Empire

NEWS FROM NEDALIA

This is BBC Correspondant in Nedalia, Shadia Diamond, reporting live from Kafra. Details have been vague concerning reports of the opening of the military base on the island of Jumandanne, but what we do know is the Nedalian government has called up its approximated 4,500 soldiers to its new base for special training. The reasons are, as of yet, unknown, but they will be supervised by Commander Horacio himself.

Save for a few Humvees and Jeeps, the soldiers represent Nedalia's entire military branch. I had the fortune of visiting the base a few days ago before the soldiers were called up to Jumandanne, and it really is nothing but a few concrete buildings and a huge training facility. The soldiers, while on call, are paid 50 Kafraleons a day. It is unclear how long the government plans to have them on the Jumandanne Military Base.

The island itself is located in the eastern part of the country. It is quite a beautiful place, with rolling hills and sporadic forests. The grass is green, the sun is always shining, and the beaches are marvellous. The island itself would make a terrific spot for a resort. It has to be one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. The military base is found on the western coast of the island, situated on what is called the Lowland Plains, a gorgeous set of green plains that run off to the Garand Tropical Forest.

Greetings Leaders of all Dimensions and of all Worlds,

Allow me to introduce myself. I am President Bren, the first leader of our humble nation of Nedalia. We have just opened up our borders and we are looking to build our diplomatic relations with any and all nations and empires. Whether your nation travels through space or on horses, whether the weapons of choice or missiles or magic, we would like to build diplomatic relations with you. We are a humble nation and the low spectrum of all things: Magic, Technology, Military. However, our spirit is high and our will is strong. We hope all of you will accept our humble invitation to begin diplomatic relations. Thank you for your time.

LATEST NEWS FROM NEDALIA

- After setting up a tower on the outskirts of Kafra, Nedalia will witness its very first Nedalian National TV broadcast tomorrow. NNTV, as it will be known, is, for now, can only be seen within the borders of Nedalia, but there are plans for it to go universal. It is completely privately owned by a few Nedalian businessmen with the government playing no part whatsoever. Having said that, President Bren will be coming on the air at mid-day tomorrow to give a speech to the nation. He will be followed by a telecast featuring Falasturian ambassador Mr. Tebbs, who will speak of the joy he is experiencing as ambassador of Falastur in Nedalia. That would then lead to a 1 hour documentary on Falastur itself, and the beauty and diversity of the country. With relations between the two countries growing by the day, Nedalian officials wanted to support an exchange of cultural interest in hopes of supporting Nedalia's new tourism sector.

- In other news, although Nedalia as of yet has not organized a professional soccer league, officials have held tryouts throughout the nation looking for players to represent it in the upcoming Under 21 World Cup in Football. The team is not expected to fare well, but that does bode well for the players picked because the pressure is off. The President himself has shown his public support for organizing the team and sending them to the World Cup.

- Nedalian scientists today announced the discovery of a new kind of mineral on the remote island of Hingredde. Silver in color but heavier than gold, it is believed that this new mineral, which has been called Hing (after the island it was found on) has, stored in, strange chemicals. That is all the scientists told the public during their press conference. The island has been shut off, with only Nedalian authorities with clearance allowed in. Enough of the mineral has been taken to the Grofta Chemical Plant to begin tests.

- The President again announced today his intention to continue to develop diplomatic relations with new countries. He called on any and all countries interested in developing relations with Nedalia to simply reply to him.

President Bren,

Us fair Stumps in Stumperia would love to have some kind of link with Nedalia and other countries. All though I must say, we are a nudist country, in a nudist continent, but wouldn't that make it more of a reason for us to have a diplomatic relation? To show that us nudists are not pushed aside!

We are not any different than any other country, we have businesses, we have a football league (Stumperian Footballij Leaguen), we have TV! It's just that...we don't have clothes.

There is a reason to this...economy. Clothes are important things to have in many other countries, but we here in Stumperia believe that we could have much more money to spend, like funds in travel, sport, education, health etc etc. Maybe in the next ice age will we have scarves!

Mr. Glacier Stump,

We have absolutely no problem with nudity. We would love to exchange embassies and begin official diplomatic relations. We do have a few conditions in which we would like to apply before we send out Ms. Joanna Fisher and her delegation over to Stumperia.

- There should be a permenantly assigned protective team to all Nedalian citizens who work at the embassy. We expect, including Mr. Fisher, there would be 20 Nedalian embassy workers dispatched. The protective team's sole assignment should be to protect the Nedalian workers, and in case of political or military upheaval in Stumperia, gather up and escort the Nedalians out of the country safely.

- The land on which the Nedalian Embassy shall be placed upon will be recognized as Stumperian land that has been granted to Nedalia as ITS OWN property until the embassy is moved from that location. All laws of Nedalia shall be effective on this land, but consideration for Stumperian law shall also be implemented.

- We shall not, under any circumstance, accept any espionage activity, at ANY LEVEL, towards and against our embassy. Therefore, we must ask that the Stumperian government let us provide our own satellite signal through which we will guarantee the Stumperian government that the signal will only be used to and from the Embassy.

- All Nedalian workers, including the Ambassador, shall be granted Diplomatic Immunity by the government of Stumperia. If, for whatever reason, a crime is commited by anyone of these Nedalian citizen, the citizen shall be detained by Stumperian authorities until a representative has been sent by Nedalia to claim the citizen. The Stumperian authorities, at that time, are to fully comply with the Nedalian representative and hand the citizen over. We, in turn, will guarantee to collaborate with Stumperian authorities in the investigation, and if found guilty, punish the citizen to the maximum penalty.

We look forward to your response. Ofcourse, we will be willing to accomodate any conditions you may have. Awaiting your reply. Thank you again.

Mr. Strand, Minister of External Affairs for Nedalia,
c/o Ms. Diana Domina, Ambassador for Nedalia to Falastur and the Empire,

We are honoured once again to hear off the documentary of Falastur due to be broadcasted on your very first medium of mass visual publication, and for our Ambassador to Nedalia to be given an even more-so position. With your consent, we intend to broadcast a similar documentary on Nedalia, throught the Empire and all countries and continents receiving Falasturian national tele-media, to further our relations. Furthermore, we intend to - with your consent - begin advertising Nedalia as a potential tourist destination. We believe this would primarily work wonders in instituting an active economy, and would even further create unbreakable bonds between our two great civilisations. This would also give rise to a large number of jobs to which you can further devote members of your largely unemployed (as we have been led to understand) population.

We hope you give this matter due thought, and eagerly await your reply.

Yours Sincerely,

The Stumperian government has decided to locate Ms. Joanna Fisher in our seaside town of Stumpinkis as the street where we were originally going to locate Ms. Fisher in Stumpsterdam is being used in our smash hit film 'Starj Conflikt'.

Stumpinkis is a quiet town, but doesn't mean to say it's empty. It's the second most populated town in Stumperia.

Ms. Joanna Fisher and the other Nedalian workers shall be located in our newly built embassy estate which over look the C-shaped city, and looks straight into the harbour which gives the worker a relaxing view, something away from the stress in the evening.

All Nedalian citizens will be protected by their own personal guards. All 40 are hired from 'Proven Sekurity', 20 work from 9am-9pm and the remaining 20 work from 9pm-9am. The location these citizens will be working on will be Nedalian soil, under a contract that whoever enters the embassy's ground will have to show an approved passport, including the guards.

On site is an armoured vehicle (car) for Ms. Joanna Fisher and 4 armoured vans for the remaining workers/citizens. These vehicles are fitted out to comfort the passenger as they escape any upheavel. They will be taken to a privately owned airstrip where a private jet is situated.

Stumperian ministers have agreed to all requirements.

A Diplomatic Immunity has been approved and granted for Ms. Joanna Fisher and terms have been agreed to any problems with the other permitted workers.

Mr. Simon Baites,

It would honor us to see a documentary on Nedalia broadcasted on Falasturian Television Media. This only goes to show how strong the relationship between our two nations continues to be. Indeed, such relations will be cherished by Nedalians for as long as they continue. We appreciate the attention Falastur has put into helping Nedalia shall never be overlooked. We do hope, however, that the documentary does not focus on the Nedalia Guerilla Brigade (known as the NGB), the newly created section of the military which concentrates solely on guerilla warfare and are known for their ruthlessness. This might portray a negative image onto the island, and therefore we request that if you do report on our military, to not include any reports on the NGB. Once again, we thank you for your time, and behalf of the entire Nedalian government, we look forward to our continuously healthy relationship.

Mr. Glacier Stump,

Thank you for the hospitality you have shown Ms. Fisher. She has reported back to Kafra with nothing but kind words towards the country of Stumperia. She also claims she feels especially free and rejuvenated now that she walks around in the nude. You have met our conditions with more than satisfactory results, and we are excitedly awaiting the Stumperian delegation that will be sent to Nedalia. We kindly ask you to give us the name of the Ambassador you plan to send in order to officially put him or her in our records. We thank you again, and look forward to a long and healthy relationship between our two nations.

OOC: Sorry, late reply.

IC: Knox cleared his throat and took a sip of water as he leaned forward on his elbows and framed his reply.

"The squadron of er..." He paused to look over his notes. "AFD-9 fighters is free. You get them at no obligation. Additional fighters of this type or any other type would be subject to outright buying or some other payment option.

"The training we can do simply. Although perhaps the pilots of the Adejaani Regime Air Force (ARAF) aren't the best in the world, we can give anyone a run for their money. On this note, we are going to be generous and offer free pilot training for the short term. However, this would mean the stationing of one of our fighter squadrons when you've got an Air Force Base of your own. Our squadron flies with and trains against your squadron and we both learn in the process.

"The technological advances include, for example, everything from nuclear power plants; to steel mining and ore refining; to crop harvesting and hydroponics installations; even all the way up to spaceflight.

"Strundanne Air Force Base will begin construction immediately. Of course, you will have a lot of air traffic as our transport aircraft ship in the raw materials and equipment." Knox paused and looked out over the top of his reading glasses, then smiled.

"For no extra cost, per our own generosity, plus the need to operate a larger base in light of our free training and additional housing of one of the ARAF's squadrons. Further, we will set up maintenance, fabrication and machining shops. Everything you'd need for a full sized, world class Air Force Base. However, you would need to provide security and police detachments, as well as your domestic personnel for training by our qualified staffers.

"Lastly, a small plot of land has been set aside, with architectural blueprints for your approval, for the establishment of an embassy near the Adejaani capital, Ticonderoga City."

Knox leaned back and waited for the reply, smiling happily.

Ms. Diana Domina, Ambassador for Nedalia to Falastur and the Empire,

Fear not, for our documentary instead intends to feature the beauty of the land of Nedalia, as well as its booming economy and industry, and perhaps a brief spot on the recent finds of "Hing". This is much more a introduction to your country, and its rapidly-rising greatness, and less an expose of its personal assets...

Looking over his factbook and notes presented by Mr. Knox, Minister of Defense Gerard Louvre was quite pleased. He felt the negotiations were going well, and he had gotten word from the President over the final desicion of Nedalia. He adjusted his seat, got comfortable and began talking.

We are most humbled by your offer to give us the AFD-9 Wasps for free, but we will have to decline. We must insist on paying for the fighters, or atleast negotiate an agreement of sorts."

"As for the issue on the training, we will comply with your desire to use the new base in exchange for training and developing our new pilots. However, we must set forth some rules:

1 - Your military personnel shall abide by and respect all Nedalian laws.
2 - There shall be no unauthorized activity by the military personnel stationed at the Strundanne AFB. All activities have to be reported and given permission to be held before any activity occurs. We promise to deliver swift responses and permission, if we see fit, on our part. We hope to experience no problems, from both sides, with this issue.
3 - Adejaani military personnel are allowed to leave the Strundanne AFB at any time and enter at any time. We will be issuing a unique ID Card for them. However, they shall not be, under any circumstances, allowed to take their weapons with them when they exit Strundanne AFB.
4 - We ask Adejaani Military Personnel, no matter of what ranking, to be compliant with any requests from Nedalian authorities.

Hopefully, this will not pose as a problem for any of us."

Mr. Louvre continued, "We thank you for the opportunity to exchange embassies. Our delegation, led by Mr. Yoland, will be dispatched first thing in the morning. We ask you to name your ambassador to our humble nation so we may greet him with the upmost respect he deserves."

Minister Louvre got up out of his chair, and went over to Mr. Knox, extending his hand. He felt the negogiations had gone weill for both sides, and was please with the outcome. He knew a solid relationship was being developed, and he was happy about it.

Greetings Leaders of the Universe,

Recently, we discovered a mineral in the remote island of Hingredde in eastern Nedalia, on the slopes of Mt. Biss. We, the Nedalian government, were working on an agreement with the Crepusculians, and while the offer to send the top 5 scientists to the Grofta Chemical Plant Lab to continue research with our sharp, but inexperienced, scientists, we would like to open it to other interested parties. We ask for any interested party to report back to us. We are interested in having up to 2 more nations send 2 to 4 of their scientists to work alongside ours in discovering what exactly this mineral, which we have called "Hing", is. Negotiations on what to do with the mineral can be discussed later. Thank you for your time. We hope for prompt replies.

- Nedalia are getting planes. Thats right, Nedalia offcials are finalizing contracts over Nedalia buying 12 AFD-9 Wasps, the agile, light fighter jet. In it also rumored that Adejaanian personnel will be coming to Nedalia to help train the pilots. The personnel shall have their own facilities at the new Air Force Base in Strudanne. Speaking of the Air Force Base, the Adejaanian have promised a 1st class facility, and it is rumored to set back the Nedalian government back just about $200 million.

- Hing seems to be all the rage in town. The discovery of this shiny silver colored mineral has had the scientific community in Nedalia in upheaval. Research is still in its early phases following the invitation Nedalian officials sent to the leaders of the world, but already, scientists are talking about something, they claim, is like nothing they have ever seen before. It is rumored that the mineral in almost impenitrable...

- Nedalia has sent a team to participate in the U21 World Cup. The Head Coach Randy Gamman has been optimistic about the teams chances, even though they have never participated in an organized game before. NEDALIA: 5
(Nene 14, 76)
(James 54, 87
(Karry 69)

LOVISA: 3

- A fabulous performance from the Nedalia Lions has given them their first ever sporting victory in its first ever sporting event. Broadcasted directly to Nedalia from TnUI, crowds of thousands spilled out to the streets of Kafra after the match in the middle of the night (time difference) to celebrate this wonderous victory. It was rumored the high government officials, including President Bren himself, was in the crowd celebrating. Parties continued to the wee hours of the morning, and the following day was dubbed by the President as a "Celebration Day".

On to the match itself. The Lions came out in their country's colors: Red, Green, Yellow, and Black. With the Nedalia flag proudly waving as the
National Anthem of Nedalia "Bless the Nedalia Freedom Warriors" rang out across the stadium for the first time on international TV, goosebumps formed on every Nedalian across the universe. The match begin with high intesity from the Nedalian front, and they never let up. Nene, who was outstanding throughout the match, scored in the 14th minute with a fabulous solo effort, getting the ball from Trent Hardman just in Lovisan territory, proceeding to magically get by 4 Lovisan players before shooting a scorcher into the top left corner of the Lovisan goal. Despite continuous pressure spells from both side (including a Lovisan player hitting the crossbar 2 minutes before halftime), the score ended 1 - 0 at the end of the 1st half.

The 2nd half brought even more excitement. Lovisa equalized off of a fabulous effort in the 51st minute, but the Nedalian response was quick and brutal. Just 3 minutes later, wonderkid striker Tim James received a beautiful pass from Innit Point, tapping the ball in past the Lovinian keeper with ease. Once again, the response was quick and brutal, this time from the Lovisian side. Equalizing in the 59th minute, Lovisa went ahead jut two minutes after that, in the 61st minute that left Nedalia in a state of shock. Randy Gamman, Nedalia's Head Coach, took the liberty to bring in Constantine after Hardman picked up a knock. The 3rd Lovisian goal was mostly the fault of captain Jim Brown, who's blunder had Nedalia 3 - 2 with just under 30 minutes to go in the match.

Bringing on Constantine, an Attacking Midfielder, for Hardman, a Defensive Midfielder, changed the tactics of Nedalia. The phenomenal flair of Nedalia began to show after the substitution, and Constantine contributed almost immediately, setting up striker Karry with a wonderful pass in the 69th minute to equalize the game. After that goal, it appeared Lovisa was demoralized. Taking advantage of that situation, Nene got his 2nd goal of the game in the 76th minute, and Tim James, in the 87th minute, put the finishing touches in a cracking game full of goals.

Randy Gamman said after the match, "Obviously, we are incredibly happy that we got this victory. We are halfway to the 2nd round, but it does not get easier from here. We still have two very, very difficult matches, especially the match against South Osettia, who defeated Kazakhstania 1 - 0. But we are looking forward to the challenge, and we are ready for it. However, that being said, we need to shore up the defensive effort. Our offense flowed beautifully, but you cannot win without defense. Hopefully, we can address those issues before our next game."

While Gamman was proven right in his first match, South Osettia could prove a big hurdle for the Nedalia Lions, but if they play with the fluidity they played with today, then they seem to be able to compete with anyone. Right now, Nedalia tops the group, with Sout Osettia second thanks only to goal difference. Reporting live from TnUI, this is NNTV Reporter Peter Swim.

"Which is only fair, sir." Knox shook Lourve's hand. "The Foreign Relations Ministry is currently in a bit of a shambles at the moment." Knox admitted, embarrassed as the lower ranking aides shook hands with their counterparts and Knox stuck next to Lourve. "However, I believe that Jack Harrison is in need of a job. "And please, sir, don't hesitate to contact us. Telegram's the fastest way. We'll try and observe events, but we can't always tell if we're needed or not."

With the AFD-9 Wasps already headed to Nedalia, Adejaani will also be sending trainer pilots to help develop the skills of the Nedalians pilots. It is yet unknown how long they will remain in Nedalia, but it is rumored that they are building a residential facility at the AFB just for the Adejaani personnel stationed here.

LIVE NEWS FROM NEDALIA:

- There has been progress made on the research of Hing. The Crepusculian scientists, who will be helping and guiding the Nedalian scientists, arrived last week and have been reported to be amazed at the mineral. What they already know is that Hing is very difficult to penetrate, and that it contains a chemical which seems to freezes everything it comes across with. The scientists, however, were quick to tell us that research was far from over. They claim to be anticipating more discoveries and suprises concerning this mineral. We will keep you updated.

- The Adejaanian personnel today were invited to Kafra to meet and have lunch with President Bren. In an obvious gesture of friendship, the President thanked the personnel for providing their services to Nedalia. Adejaani sent personnel to help train Nedalian pilots after the delivery of the AFD-9 Wasps.

- There has been talk about Nedalia looking in to buying 2 tankers. There has been no official report, the our sources tell us that the government is interested in having its own fleet to ship cargo around the world.

On behalf of the Most Serene Republic of Hypocria I would like to extend greetings to President Bren and his people.

The Hypocrian government is very interested in strengthen ties with Nedalia and would gladly, if permitted, sanction the establishment of an embassy in Nedalia. Likewise a Nedalian embassy in Hypocria would be most welcome.

In addition our scientific community has recently achieved a number of breakthroughs in various areas of research and are consequently feeling quite pleased with themselves. We are now looking for something to keep them busy. If the offer is still open we could dispatch a research team to aid you own people in continuing to study this new mineral.

We look forward to your reply.

Mr. Borada,

We would be more than happy to oblige to your request of opening up an embassy here in Nedalia. Upon hearing about your interest in having a delegation sent to Hypocria, led by Mr. George Johns, we dispatched our representatives to your fine nation. They shall be arriving there shortly. We kindly ask you to meet our request of setting up our own satellite signal between our embassy and our humble country.

As for the issue concerning the research of "Hing", we most certainly approve of your scientists coming to Nedalia to help out our own scientists and the Crepusculan scientists. While he have made major head-way, we would very much appreciate the input your scientists have on the matter.

Honourable citizens of Nedalia,

On behalf of the President, government and people of the Democratic Republic of Golgothastan, it is my pleasure to extend to you our warmest regards, and invite you to open an embassy with us in Rantanka City. We would be most interested in establishing an embassy with you likewise (under certain mutually agreed conditions) and perhaps sending a delegation to tour your interesting country. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

I look forward to welcoming the Nedalian delegation. Unfortunately I have to inform you that the new facility, in which we hoped to house a number of embassies, as well as my shiny new office, is still not quite completed. I had received a revised completion time of 15 days. However the project has since been given a much higher priority on the strength of recent foreign interest. Consequently we hope to have the facility up and running much sooner.

In the mean time we have prepared a section of the Republican Palace as a temporary home for Mr. Johns and his staff. I hope this is acceptable and you will be informed as soon as your new embassy is finished. The temporary site and the future site of your embassy both have the capacity to support your satellite signal. I must apologize profusely for this inconvenience and I hope this will not adversely affect relations between our two countries.

A 3 man research team under Professor Dimitrios has been readied and will be dispatched immediately. The formation of an embassy staff is proving slightly problematic as possible ambassadors are already fighting over the posting. The lure of a tropical island is hard to resist. The ambassador will be confirmed later today and they and their staff will depart as soon as possible.

The Nedalia Lions

Nedalia: 6
(Nene 21st, 79th)
(James 33rd)
(Karry, 49th)
(Point, 71st)
(Constantine 90th)

Chincada: 5

There shall be no sleep tonight for Nedalians as their U21 team advanced to the quarter-finals of the U21 World Cup 14, defeating Chincada 6 -5 in an absolutely thrilling match, sealed off by a magical 90th minute goal by substitute Constantine. What makes it even more special is the fact that not only is this the very first tournament the team has entered, but the games they have played are the very first, professional or friendlies, that they have ever played. The Lions continue their Cinderella run into the quarterfinals, against either Crystilakere or Oliverry. Coach Gamman was just as ecstatic as his players:

“I honestly am so impressed with the will of these players. They have put the flag of Nedalia on their side and have ridden with it to the Quarter-Finals. I kept telling all of you, do not doubt the potential of these boys, and never doubt their determination. Well, I have proven my point. I mean, they just did not give up. I even heard a pundit claim that if this was a close affair by the 80th minute, then count on Nedalia to buckle under the pressure and have Chincada advance, citing inexperience as a reason. With all due respect to Chincada, who played an incredible game and made us work for every possession, these boys carry with them that Nedalian pride, that Nedalian will.”

Trading blows throughout the match, it came down to Constantine’s 90th minute wonder goal to seal the game for the Lions, and book their trip to the Quarter-Finals. Nene again was instrumental, scoring 2 goals and providing 2 assists, one to James, and the other to Point. This has brought absolute jubilation to the small yet loud crowd that has traveled with the team to TnUI to support their team. However, Coach Gamman was quick to point out how goos the Chincadian team was:

“I cannot take anything away from the Chincada squad, they matched us in every way. I will be the first to admit that it could’ve gone both ways. They played a fabulous game. The Chincidans can hold their heads up high and walk tall, they proved to everyone today how serious they were about their football.”

Will the flair and flamboyance be able to take the Nedalian team further? That is unknown now, but what is known, the country is in celebration. We thank you, young Lions, for what you have done for our nation. For NNTV, this is Vern Tap.

Rest assured that Ms. Bassano will be treated with the upmost respect. That goes without saying for her staff as well. We have given to your delegation the best we can offer, an embassy on Shorelane Boulevard, with a majestic view of the Indian Ocean and its sparkling waters. Our delegation has already left for Hypocria earlier in the day, and we know that they will enjoy their time in your beautiful country.

We have also received the Hypocrian scientists, and they told us that "Hing" is quite the mineral. We continue to research, and we are glad to have them onboard, along with the Crepusculan scientists. We hope that it all goes well.

The Nedalia Lions

NNTV BROADCAST FROM U21 WORLD CUP 14 - The Quarter-Finals beckon for the Nedalia Lions U21 squad, but how did they get here? Let us take a quick look.

The 1st game ever played by any Nedalian team happened here in TnUI, Lovisa being the opponent. Nobody knew what to expect from the Lions, but they came out and, despite their defensive lapses, played some brilliant football. The first thing anyone noticed was the Flamboyance, flair, and pace of the players. The final result was 5 - 3, in favor of Nedalia.

Three points taken away from the 1st match, Nedalia were riding their momentum was they went into their 2nd match against Kazakhstania. In a highly entertaining game, the Lions once again dazzled the crowds with phenomenal attacks, blistering pace, and jaw dropping one on one moves. Their defense, however, did not hold up as it shouldve, and the match ended with a 3 - 3 draw. Four points from two matches.

The final Group E match was against perennial powerhouses South Osettia. A tense exchange of words took place before the match between Head Coaches Gamman and Zajdel, filled with rebuttals. Having taken away 4 points from the past 2 matches, Nedalia sat in 2nd place, 3 points ahead of Kazakhstania. Well, Kazakhstania and Nedalia both lost, and it was Nedalia that went through to the 2nd round, along with South Osettia. The result from the match was 4 - 3 in favor of South Osettia. However, having qualified to the 2nd round, the Lions were excited, celebrating till the morning.

The 2nd round match - up with Chincada was one of the memories. A final minute goal sent Nedalia through in a match that would be a hot contestant for Match of the Tournament. It ende 6 - 5, and once again, the flair that the Nedalian team played with mezmorized the crowd.

Now in the Quarter-Finals, the Lions eagerly await their upcoming match. They are ready, and Gamman has continuously told his team not to, in the infamous words of South Osettian coach Zajdel, start getting nosebleeds. They have been practicing even harder than usual, and their focus cannot be swayed. With that Nedalian pride inside of them, the entire nation will be following their next match and hoping for that exclusive spot in the Semi-Finals.

For NNTV, this is Vern Tap.

Indeed, they have enthralled us all with their beautiful attacking football. Minister Homsi.

Allow me to introduce myself. I am Gregory Caruso, the Head of Sporting Development for the Hypocrian Department of Sport and Leisure. We at the department were delighted to hear of your generous invitation and are very much looking forward to the event.

Hypocria has no national team at the present time but football is the nation’s favorite sport and we do have a longstanding professional league structure in place. Already department officials are scouring the professional ranks to put together a national under-21 squad. The intention is to bring a squad of 24 players.

Although no official announcement has yet been made to the public we anticipate a great demand for tickets. Minister, would you be kind enough to confirm whether an allocation of tickets could be made available to the Hypocrian public?

I would also like to take this opportunity to officially invite the Nedalian under -21 team for a return fixture in Hypocria. The 70,000 capacity Titus Dome in Hypocrium is considered one of the finest structures in the land but obviously has never hosted an international event. We can think of no better opponents for its international debut.

YEAR 2 AFN

THE Nedalia Lions CONTINUE TO FEED ON OPPONENTS

NNTV BROADCAST FROM TnUI - Since the beginning of U21 World Cup 14, Nedalia has faced a barrage of doubters from all walks of life. Well, doubt no more. In the 118th minute of extra time, Nedalia attacking midfielder Innit Point scored the golden goal to send unseeded Nedalia to the semi-finals against Sarzonia, and defeat 6th seeded Crystilakere. Nedalia fans stormed the pitch after the match, celebrating with the players, and even Coach Gamman. The festivies, in true Nedalian spirit, continued all night. Fireworks (and celebretory gunshots) erupted in Nedalia's capital Kafra after Point's game winning goal, and did not rest until people had to go to work the next morning.

"Its an unbelievable feeling. Crystilakere undeniably played a great match, and it went all the way down to the wire. They really put a clamp down on our offense, they are a great, great defensive team.", commented Coach Gamman."But once again, this Lions squad showed the viewing world the meaning determination, fighting back from their 1 - nil deficit at the end of the first half and winning it with that fabulous goal from Innit Point. More importantly, we proved that we can be capable defensively. We have been billed as a team that solely plays attacking football, thats just built on flair and tricks, and that type of play never wins World Cups. Well, today we proved that when needed be, we can come out and shut the other team down. Credit goes to our captain goalkeeper Jim Brown for having a phenomenal game as well."

With 6th seeded Crystilakere out of the way, it is time to concentrate on the next opponents for this unlikeliest semi-finalist squad: Sarzonia. The Junior Stars easily handled South Osettia, Nedalia's rivals from Group E and the team responsible for Nedalia's only loss. They will be the highest seed Nedalia has faced, Gamman was seemingly unfazed by the challenge.

"We have proven we belong. We have proven that we cannot be overlooked. Any team that makes the semi-finals has to be taken seriously. Sarzonia is a very talented squad, and we have to find a way to contain Raven and Sanderson.", Gamman said, stopping briefly to hug his player, Nene, who was crossing by. He then continued with a smile, saying, "Im sorry to disappoint the Sarzonians who were looking forward to facing Crystilakere. I understand they have a little rivalry going on. Nevertheless, we can only hope to give the type of match we have been giving everyone else we've faced."

The Lions continue their amazing run here in TnUI in full blast. They have enjoyed the ride, and the players are confident in their ability. Lifting the World Cup is two victories away, and the country of Nedalia is behind you no matter what the outcome. We are proud of you, boys, and you will be treated like heroes when you return home. For NNTV, this is Vern Tap.

NNTV NEWS

- The main story is, ofcourse, the Nedalia Lions U21 squad that has lit the U21 World Cup 14 on fire with their flamboyant attacking football. Qualifying out of Group E with 4 points, they have since eliminated Chincada and Crystilakere, respectively, in the 2nd round and Quarter-Finals. The leading scorer has been Nene with 7 goals, but one cannot take away credit from the rest of the team. It has truly been a group effort, and hopefully this cinderella story is not over yet.

- The Nedalian military has been active as of late, taking delivery of 5 Seversky patrol boats, called the Tufekchiev Patrol Boats. They have also taken delivery of 2 Harlesburgian Tankers, called the Geminis. On top of all that, Ravean authorities presented Nedalia with a generous offer to outfit the 7,500 soldiers of Nedalia with the latest Ravean technology. It is believed that the details to that offer is being negotiated and worked out. To read more about the Nedalian military, please visit:Nedalia at NSwiki (http://ns.goobergunch.net/wiki/index.php/Nedalia)

- Ambassadors Ms. Domina and Mr. Wess today reported back from Falastur and Crepuscula, respectively. They both had nothing but kind words as to their facilities and the way they have been treated in their adopted homes. President Bren was especially pleased with this news. It is no secret that the current President’s political views are global-oriented. It is under him that Nedalia has come into the mainfray of the international community, and it is under him that it continues to build allies and relationships. Ms. Domina commented about the beauty of Falastur, and has urged the President to make his first trip out of Nedalia to see Falastur for himself. It was unclear what the President thought on the matter.

- Nader Homsi went on NNTV today and announced that he intends to begin the Nedalia Premier League. Investors, he claimed, have a choice of either owning a team (subject to Nedalia Premier League rules), or becoming a sponsor for a Premier League team. Interested parties are urged to either send him a TG or post a reply in the Premier League site:Investing in the Premier League (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=409109)
Falastur
01-04-2005, 00:32
President Bren of Nedalia,
c/o Ms. Diana Domina, Ambassador for Nedalia to Falastur and the Empire,

It is with great honour and priviledge that I address you, the great and worthy President to Nedalia, and for this brief but glorious moment, take fore of the communications between my nation and yours. Words cannot express what it feels like to be honoured with such a diplomatic friendship as that of Nedalia and Falastur, and to take the chance to speak personally with yourself is a true gratification. However, I digress already...

I must congratulate yourself, Nedalia, and its peoples, on recent events, and your inspirational rise to power. With especial interest have I observed this, and I took the liberty of watching the Nedalia Lions fly to such a great first victory. It was an impressive performance. Worthy of many Falasturian Professional Leagues, indeed. My congratulations, and I hope that this is passed on to the players, and all directly associated with the Lions. In fact, their action has spurred me into making this comment: Many teams across Falastur and the Empire, both low, from the minor leagues of individual towns and villages, to the high, including the Imperial national team itself, have expressed interest in friendly matches between the Lions and theirselves. In order to promote a harmony between our nations in entertainment and procreative terms, as well as diplomatic, I hereby authorise you to select any team that the Lions wish to face, and challenge them to a friendly match at a venue specified by yourself. (However, I recommend that the match is either hosted at a maximum-capacity ground within Nedalia, or at the Venerian Imperial Stadium, official home to Falastur FC, the national and official Imperial side of Falastur. The ground can seat 348,000 spectators, if it interests you). Indeed, if it fall within a fair point in my schedule, I would intend to watch the match myself. I am well known in Falastur as an avid fan of football, and myself own three professional sides within my territories.

On the subject, I have noticed your interest in the formation of a Nedalian League. I would be delighted to partake in this venture, as would numerous Falasturian business enterprises, I am lead to believe. I am willing from my own pocket to gift the newly-formed League with perhaps as much as ~H~15 million (around $23 million), which may be spent as you wish, but I suspect it would amply cover the costs of creation of the expanding of the Nedalian national stadium, adequate promotional expenses and the arranging and bank-rolling of a sufficient administration to organise the League and manage it, independently of the sides. If Nedalian law would permit a side to be owned by a foreign Monarch, I would very much like to "purchase" a team, for which I will pay personally all expenses, and will aim with all my energy to succeed in fielding a team for the League in under one year, along with active stadium, sponsors, kits and other necessities. If you need the extra interest, I can give to you, or any Nedalian concerned, the names of at least ten companies which would do the same, or merely sponsor a side, to help establish this League along with a firm base of competiting sides. It may be a controversial issue, but it would rate among most everything else I have experienced as the proudest moment of my life to see a team under my patronage partaking in the Nedalian Leagues.

However, other issues must be discussed. Foremost, it has come to my attention that interest has been expressed to the subject of a state visit by yourself to this humble nation of Falastur. I would like to be first in expressing what an honour and priviledge this would be, and I give you my word that if you choose to do so, I will do everything in my power to make your visit the finest journey you ever did make. It is, of course, indisputably your decision as to whether your presence is seen here or not, but it would be my humble and devotional duty to cater for you in any way I can for as long as you reside within my territories. I also offer you complete freedom in dictating the itinerary of any possible visit. I will have anywhere opened for yourself if you choose to visit it. It would be my honour.

Finally, it is again my honour to be about to partake in a diplomatic exchange borne of other subjects, for the duration of this message. What I mean to say is as follows: I am delighted to inform you on behalf of my entire nation that Falastur is now prepared for the creation of a dually-sovereign airline between our two nations. We have arranged for the necessary administration within Falastur, and currently have a number of jet aircraft ready almost immediately to begin regular passenger flights from Terila to Kafra and back. We merely await the final talks between the future CEOs of this company, and involved parties, to conclude the creation, and then will be ready and able to begin immediately to go into business. We await your response with baited breath.

Once again, I must express to you what a true honour it has been to speak to you myself, and to represent my nation before such a great "rising star" as Nedalia. It is with my most fervent wishes that I hope relations between our nations are fruitful and everlasting...

Yours Sincerely,

His Most Benevolent Imperial Majesty, Emperor Matthew VI of Falastur and the Empire

Ambassador for Falastur and the Empire to Nedalia

OOC: I don’t mind at all, in fact, that is a great idea! I’m actually going to do it to all countries with Wiki sites.

Emperor Matthew,

It is with great honor that I talk to you, and on this fine day, your great nation and ours undeniably grow closer together. The fact that you have chosen to speak to me yourself shows Nedalia what a tremendous leader you are, and let it be known that the Nedalian people love you as if you were one of their own. On behalf of Nedalia, its people, and its inspirational U21 Lions squad, we thank you for your kind words and for your support of the Lions. Indeed, they have surprised and delighted all of us with their unbelievable run to the U21 World Cup Final, where they will be facing heavily favored Starblaydia. Whatever the outcome of that match, I will personally be at the airport to greet them when they arrive back home as heroes.

I did speak with Mr. Homsi about his proposal to start a Nedalian Premier League, and I gave him my full support. We discussed the details of the league, and I told him about your interest in acquiring a team, as well as the prospects of a Falasturian company sponsoring another team. We both agreed that there would be absolutely no problem with Falastur owning a team of their own, and we also opened up a sponsorship spot for a Falasturian company with an as of yet undisclosed team. The information of the league have not been worked out, but I shall contact you personally as soon as the details are released. I ask you, however, why stop there? I spoke to our Minister of Investment, and we both agreed to give 3 Falasturian companies, from any industry, to open up branches in Nedalia, and each company shall be presented with a bonded, tax free facility. The Nedalian commercial and industrial sector is growing rapidly in our 2nd year of existence, it would be a great investment for the companies as well as being a great benefit for us. Your offer of $23,000,000 is very kind, yet we would not feel right accepting the money as a gift. Instead, we shall take that money and build a new stadium in which your new Premier League team shall call home. We have plans of making the attendance 65,000 in the new stadium, which we shall call The Matthew VI Stadium in honor of your greatness.

I also met with our new Minister of Aviation, Mr. Howard Intell, and spoke to him about our plans to start a Falasturian – Nedalian airline, with its first route being Terila – Kafra. He told me he was very exciting about the proposal and urged me to work out the details as soon as possible. Our airport is ready to accommodate, and we are ready to put in our half. We will leave it to you to decide the expense of starting such an airlines, because, as you know, we have no airplanes of our own. Whatever price you name, we shall wire the money to you directly. Lets get this plane of the ground!

Finally, I see you have become aware of Ambassador Domina’s encouragement to make the destination of my first visit out of Nedalia to be to Falastur. Indeed, it would be more than honor for me to see your tremendous country and, more importantly, meet you in person. I have business to attend to that unfortunately cannot sidestep, but it is my word, Emperor, that once the work has eased, I shall begin my plans to visit your nation. Falastur, I confirm, shall be the site of my first Presidential visit. The respect I have for you and your nation will only grow, Im sure, when I make my trip. I thank you again for speaking to me directly, and I hope this will be just one of many face to face and written meetings we have.

- The fairytale is over. The Lions were defeated in the Finals of the U21 World Cup by Starblaydia 2 - 1 in a thrilling game exposed Nedalia's defensive mediocricy, but also showed just how determined this unranked team could be. They will no longer be underdogs on the international stage, with the new rankings placing them in the 6th seed for the upcoming U21 World Cup. Coach Gamman expressed his pleasure on how the tournament went, but also warned of over confidence.

"Once the Senior Lions Squad is formed, my most talented players will surely be called up, as they should be, so it will be a different team in 2 years time. What I do not want from my squad is the belief that they will waltz through matches because they are the 2nd best U21 team there is. We have to even harder, we cant let this tournament be our crowing achievement. We have what it takes to compete, so we shall compete the best we can."

It is not clear what is happening with the Nedalia Premier League as of yet, but it is believed that Starblaydian teams were so impressed with the performances of Nene and Innit Point that they have inquired as to the availability of them. These two likely candidates for the senior squad have yet to comment.

Minister Strand,

I have recently been approached by representatives of the Shangri-La Corporation who are one of our largest companies and specialize in luxury holiday resorts and casinos. They have expressed a desire to open new facilities outside of our borders and regard Nedalia as an excellent location for such a facility. I hope you find this proposal agreeable.

Unfortunately our knowledge of the specific geography of Nedalia is somewhat sketchy at this time and I would be most grateful, if your government is agreeable to this offer, if you could recommend a suitable site for this project.

In addition the corporation has made clear its additional interest in investing in the newly formed Nedalian Premier League. They would be delighted to be the sponsors of whatever side is located in the vicinity of the site for our proposed business venture. However if the Nedalian government are not agreeable to the first proposal the corporation would still like to sponsor a Nedalian Premier League side as they see it as an great opportunity to create awareness of Hypocria as a tourist destination.

As a mere diplomat I am perhaps not the best mouthpiece for this kind of business proposal but I hope I have made the facts clear enough.

Once again Minister I look forward to your response. And on a personal note I would like to applaud the achievements of the Lions. They really showed what an emerging nation can achieve in the international arena and are an example to us all.

We welcome the formation of Nedalia to wider world and applaud it's under 21 team on just failing to win the Under 21 Championship 14 of which our team lost to the eventually winners Starblaydia.

While we know little about religion on your nation, please let your religious leaders feel free to expand their religious contacts to the spiritual home of Christianity and Judaism. Your Sunni Moslem leaders also benefit from the experience of our respected Sunni religious leaders. If your people practice a religion contrary to our embedded beliefs, we will not interfere.

However our people do shared a common passion, Soccer or the real Football. Our national team have made the group stages of the World Cup, but never the finals. Our U21 team has been crowned champions twice and never leave the top 8 of rankings.

God bless

To: (Mister) Gerard Lourve, Secretary of Defense, Nedalia
Subject: (Status of) Strundanne Air Force Base; basing of additional forces for purposes of training; upgrading additional training facilities and weapons ranges

Dear Mister Lourve.

Construction of Strundanne AFB is continuing on schedule and will be complete very soon. Per the original agreement, a squadron (twelve/12 aircraft) of AFD-14 Skyfire (http://forums2.jolt.co.uk/showpost.php?p=7779572&postcount=865) fighters will be co-home based at Strundanne AFB after its completion, for the purposes of training. However, we respectfully request basing rights of additional support aircraft, the so called "force multipliers" like AWACS (Airborne Warning And Command System); Electronic Warfare aircraft; as well as CSAR (Combat Search And Rescue) helicopters; and airborne refuelling tankers.

The addition of these forces should not place undue strain upon the resources of Strundanne AFB, at least not until you operate a larger force, which you should at least consider, as the building of a large and effective Air Force takes a long time to get running. Nevertheless, the use of these forces gives additional training options and scenarios, not to mention additional depth and reality.

In addition, we request the creation of a proper target range. After all, an Air Force's job is to deliver munitions onto targets. We can set up various monitoring facilities, as well as adding landscaping and other features to make a realistic battleground facility for your pilots to train against. We will, of course, be picking up the 'bill' as far as expended fuel and munitions go.

I look forward to hearing your reply.

Sincerely

Admiral Black,

We certainly do not object if you would like further personnel and crafts stationed in the Strundanne AFB. We will, however, require that everytime a plane with the AWACs ability of espionage that we have Nedalian personnel on board as well. I hope this will neither offend nor discomfort you. It is simply a precautionary measure. It came by request of Commander Horacio, the leader of our military, and I certainly will never argue with his experience or his word.

Our great Commander has also asked to be taken on a tour onboard the AFD-14 to see what it can do. He told me, if impressed, he will propose to the government to put an order for 5 of them. This is all pending your approval ofcourse.

Just off the eastern coast of Heldona (the island which Strundanne is located in) is a small 3 mile wide, 7 mile long remote island. I have been authorized with the power to allow this island, which we shall code-name "Missile Island", to be used as an Air Force training facility. However, there is a condition: Missile Island traning operations are only open for Nedalian AF or Nedalian/Adejaani AF operations. We must stress that we cannot allow the Adejaani AF personnel in Strundanne AFB to fly training missions without the Nedalian AF, for fear of causing lack of trust from the Nedalian people. The Nedalian people are honored to have the Adejaanian AF train our own, but they are will be quick to change their mind if they feel their security being threatened in anyway. I do hope you understand where I am coming from in this desicion. As far as the 'bill', we couldn't allow you to pay for all those expenses. We shall pay for half of the expenses ourselves.

I personally visited the site of the future Strundanne AFB and I must say, I am extremely impressed with the results. Your workers have done wonders with that stretch of land, and I cannot wait to witness the final result. Here is to a very bright future between the Adejaani and Nedalian people. We thank you for all your service.

It is my honor to receive such kind words from such respected members of the international community. Allow me to give you a short explanation about the religions of Nedalia.

We are a country made up of two main sects; Shi'ite Muslims and Christians, both Catholic and Protestant. However, nearly every other religion can be found in our borders. This is because of our liberal ideals towards freedom. We do not have an official Nedalian religion, but we do recognize that this a country made up mostly of people who believe in the One and Only God, the God who sent down the prophets Moses, Jesus, and Mohammed, respectively, to bless our lives.

As a nation, we allow worship and practice of any and all religions. We have never had a case of religious riots or religious acts of violence towards other types of religion. The government, and more importantly the people of Nedalia would never allow that to happen. We are, and will always be ones to believe that one's personal faith is just that: personal.

That being said, it will more than honor us if some of your religious leaders visited our humble nation. We, as of yet, do not have any prominent, recognized religious leaders, and I am sure our people will embrace yours if they so choose to visit us. We await your reply, and thank you for your support of our nation.

P.S: Indeed, U21 World Cup 14 was a phenomenal event, one we took great pride in participating in. We lost to a very good team in the Finals, but God willing, we shall be back in the next World Cup where we hope to meet and play the Jeruselem side in what will surely be a spectacular game.

Mr. Borada,

Minister Dewars Strand referred the letter you sent him to me. Let me introduce myself properly; I am Minister Bilal Shaheed, officially known as the Nedalian Minister of Investment.

The opening of a 5-star Shangri-La Hotel and Casino Resort would do wonders for a tourism industry we are trying to grow. I have the perfect site in mind; about 30 minutes east of our capital city of Kafra, along the white sands and crystal clear waters of the Indian Ocean. There is a local fishing town with a population of just over 3,000 about 5 minutes away from the proposed site to give oncoming visitors a taste of local Nedalian life. I am sure you will second the notion that Nedalians are among the liveliest and friendliest people that anyone will ever meet, as witnessed by our latest international ambassadors, our U21 Lions Squad.

Speaking on the issue of football, there is a team that the company can sponsor. Bronkstone FC Hawks, which is located in the working class neighborhood of Bronkstone in Kafra, has already put forward a proposal for the company: a 5 year deal totalling $4 million dollars. Please report back if this is agreeable.

We enjoy our continued growth together, and we hope that both of our countries can develop as brothers and friends. Thank you.

Minister Shaheed, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Sebastian Vermiro and I am representing the Department of Commerce in this matter. The DOC has passed on the details of your proposed site to representatives of Shangri-La and I can inform you that they are encouraged by your selection. They do insist on sending their own team to view the area but this, I assure you, is merely a formality.

In anticipation of the proposed site meeting the approval of Shangri-La I would just like to make clear my own belief that this venture will be very profitable to both our nations Minister. I would also like to officially announce on behalf of the DOC that any interested company within Nedalia would be most welcome to enter the cut throat world of Hypocrian industry.

Journalists are waiting eagerly, fidgeting with their equipment, making sure everything is just right. At that moment, Randy Gamman, Nedalia's U21 head coach, walks out and sits himself down infront of the microphone. Cameras start flashing.

"Hello, and welcome to the first official press conference concerning Nedalia's World Cup 22 campaign. As all of you are well aware, Im sure, Nedalia's fantastic ride in the U21 World Cup has brought our country to the attention of football fanatics around the universe. After our success in the U21 World Cup, we have officially submitted our intent to qualify and participate in World Cup 22, and after meeting with Minister Homsi, I have been named the 1st Nedalia Lions senior squad Head Coach. It is a great honor and I hope to represent the title in the best way I can. I am fully aware that as of right now, we do not have a senior squad, so that will be the very first task I have in hand. Obviously, players such as Nene, Innit Point, and the wonderful young striker Tim James will be called up, and I do have the Nedalia Premier League to scout, but it should not be too long before I make up my mind about who my 22 players will be. That is all for now. Thank you."

Gamman stood up and headed away from the podium, journalists screaming questions in his ear. He was well aware that competition in the U21 was like child's play compared to the World Cup. This was going to be a very tough task.

Breaking News from Kafra - A fire wrecked havoc today in the Bridgeport neighborhood of Kafra tonight. Located in eastern Kafra, on the banks of the Kafra River, Bridgeport is low-income area known for its high amount of crime. The fire reportedly erupted in a run down building approximately 10 PM tonight, caused by what seemed like an exploding gas pipe. 34 people have been killed, and over 100 have been injured. The injured have been carried over to Bridgeport General Hospital, who have called all doctors to report to the hospital to help ease the hecticness in because of the tradegy.

This represents the first major tradegy to hit Nedalia, and it also showcased the lack of safety facilities available. The Fire Department took almost 28 minutes after being called to reach the building, and by then it was too late for those who could have been saved. The fire since has been contained, but not without its cost. President Bren went on the air of NNTV and announced tomorrow will be a day of mourning.
Nedalia
05-04-2005, 07:35
President Bren stood on the podium and looked over to the masses. 35 dead in a meaningless fire. A fire that couldve easily been contained if Nedalia had its safety act together. How could it possibly take the Kafra FD almost 30 minutes to get to the scene of the fire. He sighed, and started speaking.

"My fellow Nedalians...Today, in this day of mourning, we will remember those who had to pay with their lives to point out to us the flaws in our safety department. We have already issued proposals that will improve our FD funding and make the people of Nedalia feel safer in their homes. We cannot continue to ignore the fact that people lost their lives unneccessarily, and we, the government, take full responsibility. We are for the people, and we will always be for the people. We have also began work on updating our underground pipe system to make sure such a gas leak does not happen again. We will NOT allow this tradegy to repeat itself."

"Addressing the second issue today, I will like to confirm my acceptance to Falastur invitation to visit their grand nation. As most of you have already heard, FBC have been offered the opportunity to build their own local station here, so we would have NNTV and FBC on the air on our wavelengths. This only goes to show the strength of the relationship between our two countries. I will like to announce, officially, to King Matthew VI, that I humbly accept the invitation. This is a significant step for Nedalia as a whole, as no leader has ever stepped outside of the Nedalian borders. A very exciting time indeed."

"Finally, I would like to officially announce that the first Nedalia Lions match on home soil will take place one week before the opening matches of the Nedalia Premier League against Hypocria. This will be the return leg of the first ever match for the senior squad Lions, and it will be capping of the celebration of both, the opening of the Premier League and the Nedalia International Stadium in Kafra."

President Bren of Nedalia,
c/o Ms. Diana Domina, Ambassador for Nedalia to Falastur and the Empire,

I feel it is my duty to speak to you on this sad occasion, your day of mourning for the victims of the Kafra fire yesterday. We too suffer - thankfully infrequent - tragedies as these, and know all too well how hard they can be to come to terms with, how much agony they can cause. I offer you the condolences of the entire Empire of Falastur, and wish to inform that we too have declared this day a day of mourning for your loss. In order to avoid such an event happening again, it has been decided that we will partake in any reasonable initiative to develop your emergency services. We will gladly pay a sum of money for their improving, or will sponsor the services and train their personnel if it would be of better use. We also offer Nedalia 500 fire engines of high quality and upkeep, if they would benefit the fire services. We wish to do anything we can to help you.

However, we must not dwell on the unpleasantries for more time than is due, for me must learn and carry on. It is with delight that I see that the sponsorship and purchase of several Nedalian Premier League clubs has been carried out. It is with honour that I consider myself to be a (small) part of this venture, and I avidly look to the future for what it may hold for all of us.

Furthermore, I gladly inform you that myself and my nation eagerly await your visit to us. We have prepared several things for your itinerary which I can only hope will give you as close an insight into our country, people and culture as is possible to experience in only a few days. I have also made the necessary arrangements for diplomatic talks between myself and yourself, for any topic which you wish to discuss. Needless to say, give the time and date, and I will be waiting for you myself at the Pearl of the Altantic Airport, Terila. I have great hopes of what will come from this. I am sure your visit will not disappoint.

Finally, I am honoured to have been gifted the opportunity of telling yourself myself that plans for the airline between Falastur and Nedalia are now completed, on our side at least, and upon the announcement of the formation of the company by the Nedalian side, planes will immediately begin their flights. We have prepared a sizable but not too large fleet of jets which will make passenger and cargo flights between selected destinations around Falastur and the Empire, to Kafra. If Directors of the company in Nedalia wish to add Nedalian venues to the list of destinations, they do so at their own free will.

Yours Sincerely,

His Most Benevolent Imperial Majesty, Emperor Matthew VI of Falastur and the Empire

Emperor Matthew VI,

I thank you for your kind gestures towards the Nedalian people. Indeed, it was a tragic incident, one which we won't be forgetting anytime soon, but you are right, we must move on with our lives, and so we shall. Your offer to give us 500 firefighter trucks is most kind and one that will be most appreciated. On behalf of the Nedalian, we thank you for your kind generousity.

On to the matter at hand, which is my visit to your fine empire. I have not set a date yet, but it will be soon. I shall be on the first flight to Falastur on our alliance airline, which I will get to later. I am sure that whatever you have prepared for me will be more than sufficient. I am truly excited to see the grand beauty that your nation is known for, and I am ofcourse, very excited to finally meet you in person. We do have much to discuss, economically, diplomatically, and militarily. I hope that this visit will form an unbreakable bond between my growing nation and your magnificent empire.

As for the alliance airline, we have decided that it would be best if the government reaped the financial rewards of this joint effort, so we have decided to put forth the money ourselves. Currently, the only airfield we have is the one your companies are working on renovating, and doing a fine job of it I must say. It will be completed within months, I hear, which will be perfect for my timetable. We have appointed Dorser Dunne as the man in charge of the the Alliance Airline from our part, and he shall join me on the inaugural flight of the airline.

Finally, we continue to work on forming the Premier League, and all is going well. We are very excited at the amount of international sponsors and owners in the League, it shall make for a very interesting and intense spectacule! I thank you again, Emperor, for your most honest caring for Nedalia. You are truly a brother of us.

NNTV NEWS BROADCAST - The first week of domestic football took place recently, amid the controversy facing manager Gamman and his lack of team selection for his BoF and WC22 campaign. Both issues were resolved by Sunday night, with the Week One going smoothly as can be and the Gamman announcing his 22 man squad. The top performers of the week were Dorpar, who defeated Porasse 4 - 2 in a highly entertaining match. To look at all the scores of Week One, please go to: Nedalia Premier League (http://forums.jolt.co.uk/showthread.php?t=410577)

- It seems President Bren continues to plan for his trip to Falastur on the inaugural flight of Alliance Airlines. It was reported that he had actually bought himself 4 Chrome (a Nedalian high quality luggage company) bags to pack his possessions in. It is still unclear what the Falasturian itinery for the President will be.

- Speaking of our brotherly nation of Falastur, they have presented Nedalian FDs with 500 firetruck engines to help avoid the Bridgeport fire disaster from happening again. God bless the Falasturian Empire and the kindness they have shown towards us. It is most fitting that President Bren is visiting Falastur as the first nation to be visted by a Nedalian leader.

- Commander Horacio today officially announced the deliverance of 5 Patrol Boats from Seversky to serve as protectors for the waters of Nedalia in this increasingly volatile time. It has been known for quite some time that Nedalia has played a neutral role in the wars that seemingly never end in this majestic continent, but this has been the first action taken by the military suggesting that the threat is there and is quite real. The countries western islands are the closest to mainland Africa, and therefore serve as the biggest victims should an attack be formulated. The Commander stated that this was merely a precautionary step taken to ensure the safety of the young country, considering all the other annexation and war threats going around.

- In other news, President Bren has announced that he is deeply saddened by the incidents that have been taken place in Tchad, and calls on the African community to make efforts to ammend the situation. He has officially shown full support to the Tchadian government and denounced the actions of the rebels.

"You cannot just barge in and start killing people because you disagree with policies and politics. There is a diplomatic solution to this, and we urge them to follow that path. Otherwise, no one will win this war."

The President continued by saying he was willing to send up to 1000 Nedalian peacekeepers to N'Djamena to hopefully restore some type of order in the war ravaged country.

- The first season of the Nedalian Premier League is underway! This truly international League, with owners and investors from such countries as Falastur and Starblaydia, completed its first week with resounding success. There is still room for investors and owners interested in buying a club, or even companies interested in sponsoring. Have a look for yourselves:

The AWACS and your personnel should be no problem. In fact, you should supply people to be the radar and various sensor operators aboard, since those flights would be the perfect training opportunity. Our one proviso is that in the event of a 'real' emergency (not that it would happen), that your personnel respectfully step aside and let our trained personnel handle it. But that's only in extreme rare cases.

The AFD-14 buy is currently under consideration. It is, after all, the ARAF's most advanced fighter at this stage. While my nation trusts yours implicitly, there are still a number of national security issues which need to be addressed. Please do not take this personally, but rest assured that you will be informed as soon as the government has made its decision.

Nevertheless, the inspection ride of Commander Horacio should not prove to be a problem. For the ride, understand that the backseat's control systems will generally be inactivated (or restricted to only certain functions), not because of the security issues highlighted above, but because any... Incidents would not be helpful to our lasting friendship. There will, of course, be, apart from standard aerobatic maneuvering, an opportunity for "live fire" missile firing and weapons deployment against target drones, with Commander Horacio being instructed in those functions during the inspection flight.

As the AFD-14 is our most advanced fighter, as noted above, it should be a most impressive demonstration, including the first foreign observer to operate our advanced ARS-5 radar system. It should perhaps be noted, that as I write this, there is talk that an "export version" of the AFD-14, with slightly simplified systems might be built specially for your purposes, which, while not as capable as the original, would still be an impressive fighter in its own right.

Your terms and conditions for the Missile Island Training Facility (provisional name) are wholly acceptable, construction of facilities on Missile Island will begin after the completion of Strundanne AFB, whereupon your personnel will begin basic flight training and such.

Generally speaking, for all training regimens, Nedalian AF personnel will generally form into the wingman/support roles. For example, in a target range, the squadrons will be divided into sections, generally one Adejaani AFD-14 and one AFD-9. Your fighters will basically mimic and "learn as we do". Or, if it's a secondary role, like AWACS system operator, or Electronic Warfare Officer (etc), then your personnel will fly with us in those support roles, learning and observing with trained personnel keeping an eye out. This is not intended as a slight, it's simply an easier way to reduce accidents, as well as keep the "training wheels" on until your personnel gain the confidence and experience to do things alone.

Lastly, Strundanne AFB is a good facility. I haven't had a chance to visit or even check the blueprints. Nevertheless, I humbly take your compliments, sir, though I should say were the situations be reversed, Nedalian engineers would probably do a better job than our engineers ever could.

Sincerely

Mr. Black,

This is the first time I am contacting you, and I must tell you, diplomacy is not my strongest point. However, I have requested that I explain to you, in person, the delight at the show of support you have shown the Nedalian Military. As you know, we are still a small army, but we have been adding, albeit slowly, and growing, and that is in no small part thanks to your fine nation. Adejaani has played a great part in helping us upgrade our national security. We are well aware the AFD-9s are not the strongest aircrafts on the market, but you have shown great kindness not only offering them to us, but also bringing forth the training personnel and developing our first AFB.

I have been told that the Strundanne AFB is just about 85% complete, and should be done within a few months. This is exciting news. I am also very much looking forward to being a part of the training exercises that will take place in Missile Island. And dont worry about your engineers, they did a magnificent job.

I must, however, reitirate some points. As you are aware, our nations are enjoying a fine and powerful friendship, and we would not want anything to sabotage such relations. I must take this time to remind you that the Nedalian officials have final say over all desicions that involve the Adeejani personnel. We remind you that any mission or movements that the Adejaani personnel make should be reported to the Nedalian officials and await permission. This is merely a procedure we must take to maintain control over the our airspace and the AFB. We know, however, we will face no problems.

Once again, these are just procedures we must take. We are awaiting your reply on the AFD-14 issue, and I, again, thank you for your efforts you have put in the Nedalian Military.

Thank you for your rapid reply, sir.

These various conditions won't be an issue. Every single schedule, personnel roster (and assignment), maintenance details, flight profile, mission briefing and every piece of information will be available to your personnel, where you have final say and "Go" approval.

For the AFB, don't give it a second thought.

On the final issue, the Triumvirate Leadership has decided to create an export version of the AFD-14, which will be a slightly scaled back (technologically) copy. A newer version, incorporating even more advanced technologies developed since first introduction, will be created for domestic use. In due course, after your nation has a fully developed infrastructure, and our nations have a comfortable working alliance, that the full versions will be sold and operated by the Nedalian Air Force.

In any event, that is still the future. With the near completion of Strundanne AFB, personnel have already started moving in and are overseeing the installation, outfitting and calibration of equipment. One final aside, however: Adejaani food, because of our emphasis on nourishment with minimum waste, effort and fuss, tends to make personnel gain weight. I should know. I haven't managed to see my feet in years if I stand up! So... Perhaps your chefs can provide their services to base catering... Otherwise the fighters might end up too heavy to fly!

- The Strundanne AFB has finally been completed. The Adejaani personnel have been pouring in the also newly completed Kafra International Airport (thanks to the Falasturian engineers), and yesterday was the first day actual training began. Planes could be seen flying around the area in groups, but it is believed that they were just testing the new AFD-9s out. Missile Island, the remote island turned training facility, is still under construction.

- The Nedalian government has announced that it plans to open its very own stock exchange in the near future. Officials commented that this was still the a very early proposal stage and that nothing was set, but it was a popular proposal. A matter of when, an unnamed official said, not if, but when.

- There has been some political rumbling going on in Kafra with a new Labor Party being formed. This has not been well received by the President's Nedalia Liberal Party, which dominates every single seat in every single government position in the country. But the Labor Party, led by a man known simply as Nollane, has found resounding popularity with the middle and lower classes of the Kafra. The Labor Party plans to open up offices in other major cities around Center Island. There has already been demands to even up the representation.

- The Nedalia Military, despite its small size, has been reportedly sending troops overseas to fight in civil trifes. There are reports that about 1,000 NGM fighters have been stationed in Quiblechistan to support the rebel Quiblechistan Freedom Force, or QFF, in ousting current dictator Deely. A corrupt and immoral man, our NGM fighters are now helping in the name of liberty. There have also been reports of NGM fighters in Roach Busters, fighting racism and hatred alongside the RB government in Bostwana. We are behind our troops 100% in their fight to spread liberty to the rest of the world, and may every single one of them come home safe.

- Closer to home, a military expedition has begun to Temple Island, just south of Nedalia in the Atlantian Oceana region. This movement has been given the go ahead after The Holy Saints were seen moving into the island. Commander Horacio has reportedly said that it was a matter of national security.

To: (Mister) Gerard Lourve, Secretary of Defense, Nedalia

Dear Mister Lourve

The moneys have been received and the ten (10) aircraft are being shipped over immediately and we thank you.

We do have another question, one which we are almost embarassed to ask. Do you have a coastline? If you do, Adejaani has a quartet (four/4) of surplus Anzac type frigates, the ones used by the Royal Australian Navy. Although perhaps not as capable as the Oliver Hazard Perry or Arleigh Burke type ships as used by the US Navy, the quartet of Anzacs in our posession represent a good patrol squadron. The addition of an upcoming helicopter design will even further increase the capabilities of this vessel even more. Are you interested?

Sincerely
(Admiral) Nathan Black
