Atlantian Outcasts
21-03-2005, 02:22
When one looks up at the sky at night, one has no choice but to ask the question “How big is the universe?” Thoughts begin to trickle in, bit by bit. “Perhaps its infinite. Perhaps it has an edge. Perhaps...the edge is closer then we think”
But what is beyond that edge? Nothingness? Another universe? Another plane?
Heaven?
Few are able to find out the answers while in life. Those that do either go insane, or never escape.
But sometimes...whole species can figure out the answer eventually, thereby breaking the curse, as not all of them would go insane. Communities are stronger than people.
But when the question is finally answered...communities can also be evil. Corrupted. Power-hungry. Vengeful.
Thus was the war between the Angels and Demons. A galactic war that had been going on since the beginning of the Milky Way....
A weapon had finally been designed to end the war. The perfect doomsday weapon. No radiation, no resulting trash, no survivors. But it backfired. Instead of hitting the enemy, it hit a regional power in the Orion arm of the galaxy. And within a flash, the entire Atlantian Federation, and every star system it owned—was gone.
But was it? For in reality, it had just been sent to the edge of the universe. To a pocket dimension where only it existed. Thousands of years passed. Generations came and went inside the pocket universe. But...the time was different outside. Only a few years passed in real-time.
And so the Atlantians went about their business, content with the almost starless night sky above each of their worlds. The infinite abyss of...nothing.
But stories had been passed down. Stories had become legends. Legends had become myths...
And finally, the barrier began to break down, just like the one that held the Demon fleet had. Areas temporarily opened up. The subspace wall was disintegrating. Atlantian scientists knew this, and found ways to speed up the process. Then finally, one day, it fell. And the universe shown once again on the glorious Atlantian Federation.
Avid stargazers and computers would have recognized the return of the missing star cluster. But the Atlantians remained quiet, as they prepared to reveal themselves once again.

The Olympia jumped out of hyperspace into the outskirts of the Sol system, after what had seemed onboard the ship as nothing more then a few minutes. They had no idea that the main universe had just gone by 10 years, and their people by several thousand.
“Sir, I’m getting a strange reading” said Sing. She typed in several coordinates, bringing them up on the main screen.
“What is it?” asked Vega.
“I dunno...all of the stars in the area are...in different positions” she replied “Not by much...but according to this...they are exactly where they should be ten years from now”
“The hell?” Vega pushed some of the buttons on Sing’s console. She was right. While in the jump node, they had traveled ten years into the future.
Suddenly, about 150 large seemingly Atlantian starships warped in, tractering a large citadel battle station.
“Oh hades.....” gasped Xol. No one disagreed with him.
OOC: And so it begins......again.
Ditching all of the “old” ship designs (the pyramids), all of the old characters (minus the crew of the Olympia), and all of my relations with other nations. And once I’m all set up, I’m going to start the biggest RP saga I’ve ever done (and the best). You think Atlantis is different now? You ain’t seen nothin yet.
