Jyrau Pintac Classic (golf, open, RP encouraged but not required)

Congratulations to Mario Dutil for winning the Beaneastan Open! Now it's time to roll out tournament #2 of the Intercontinental Golf Tour, the Jyrau Pintac classic.

So please enter your golfer today! Describe his or her background, strengths, and any other minutiae you would like to throw in. If the event is successful, I will consider starting up a tour. Golfers can be either gender, and each country may be represented by two golfers.

If you want to RP (not required), note that The Jyrau Pintac Classic will be held on this course, black tees (par 71):

http://www.coyoteridgegolf.com/tour.htm#

The first of four rounds will begin after twenty people sign up or by Thursday March 10th at 8AM Eastern Standard (US), whichever comes first. I will randomly determine scoring by pairing each participant's score with that of a players score in a previous, real PGA, European PGA, or US Nationwide tournament. In other words, I might use the 2000 Doral Open, and player 1 will randomly get the Round 1 score of Mike Weir from that tournament, the round 2 score from Stuart Appleby, and so on.

Good luck and swing away!

Carrying over the last 6 players? :)
Lennon Marx
06-03-2005, 15:23
Player: Scott McGinnis
Background: poor chipping but reasonable to good virtually everywhere else, right handed. The youngest son of 5 in suburban Marxville Scott got his start in golf caddying on the National tour. From then he has become a four time winner on the tour (he's only been on two seasons) and has decided to branch out to try his luck elsewhere in the Nationstates world

Golfer: Delf Polik

Background: Born in the capital, he has trained in the rich forests of Khaaaan which has given him and impressive drive, although his putting leaves something to be desired. He is quite capable of negotiating Hazards.

This is his first International competition.

Do you use some type of scorinator for this?
Are players from previous tourneys automatically signed up?

Shaitan Hulud

Age: 38
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 140 lbs.
Background: Born and raised in the Isle of a Thousand Suns in southwestern Nargopia, Shaitan discovered his love for golfing at the age of 13, when he finally gave in to his father's requests that he join his elders for a round. Soon realizing that he loved the game, he began playing constantly. Acquiring a government waiver that allowed him to skip postsecondary education for the purposes of a professional golf career, Shaitan won several national competitions. He retired from professional golf at the age of 35, but sees this competition as a way to relive his glory days.

Powerful tee shot
Poor drive accuracy from fairway
Mediocre sandplay
Superb chipping
Impressive putting

Often overshoots the green, but makes up for it with excellent short game. Incurable slice that is made up for by aiming left on drives. This gives him an advantage on right dog-legs, but a noticeable handicap on left dog-legs. This is his first international competition.

Euroslavia - I'd appreciate it if you (and Jerusalem) would take a second to plunk down the names of their golfers to make it official. So, no, I guess the same golfers aren't automatically carried over, although even if you say, "my same two people from last time," that's good enough for me.

And I do not use a scorinator. I use this website:

http://www.golfonline.com/golfonline/golfstats/0,18022,,00.html

...randomly pick one of the thousands of archived tournaments, randomly assign each participant to a player (sometimes the one closest alphabetically to the name of the golfer, or the closest alphabetically to the second letter in his last name, or first name whatever...changes round by round), give him/her the score that player had in round 1 (or round 2, 3, or 4), and start the entire process over again each ROUND. (Everyone gets a new player attached to them, a tournament, a new tour, etc).

Carrie Fisher fires up again!

It's the Jyrau Pintac Classic, 1st round results are out. Once again Carrie Fisher is challenging for the leader after a solid 68 to be 3 under while Yashak Gomez fired a 69 to record his best start ever (ie not last). Foster leads the way with 66 while Dutil, the Beanistan Open winner, was on par with an even.

The Canadians must have had too much time in the pub as both players shot over pars to be last.

Fisher keeps up the heat on Foster

Carrie Fisher is still chasing for the lead in the Jyrau Pintac Classic. She shot the 2nd best round of 69 to stay 2nd but Hulud's 67 enabled him/her to move to 3rd. Foster shot 70 and holds a one shot lead with Fisher and Hulud hard on the tail.

Gomez was back to his worst and fired a 74, only to be upstaged by a shocking 76 from Sullivan. The two Canadians are still last.

Beanistan Open winner Dutil shot 70 and is only 5 shots off the lead with two rounds left.

1. Foster -6 (66 70)
2. Fisher -5 (68 69)

NEVER SAY DIE: HULUD BOUNCES BACK

by Shximmy Dallow

One would think that the pressure would be too great to bear for Shaitan Hulud, the first Nargopian ever to play in an international golf tournament. And yesterday, one might have been right about that. Hulud was tied for seventh place at the end of Round One, shooting a mediocre even par. However, Round Two was a quite different story, with Hulud rising to third place with a score of 67 (-4), only two shots from the lead. Keep an eye out for Hulud to finish strong in the final two rounds of the Jyrau Pintac Classic.

Beanestan Open leaders show the way

Carrie Fisher has taken the lead for the Jyrau Pintac Classic for the first time. Her 69 provides for 1 shot leader over Foster who managed an even par 71 while Beanestan Open winner shot a round best 67 to move to 3rd and within two shots of the lead.

Hulud shot a 73 to fall back to equal 4th and Gomez moved to even par to be equal 6th. The two Canadians are still last and look like staying there if they don't start shooting under par scores.

1. Fisher -7 (68 69 69)
2. Foster -6 (66 70 71)
3. Dutil -5 (71 70 67)
