To whom it may concern:

My association requested further details of how your competition will be run. This request has not been fulfilled to our satisfaction, as a good deal of information has yet to be provided. Until such information is provided, the Legalese baseball team will not be participating in the competition.

(OOC: Consider the being difficult semi-RPish, but really, I'd like to know a few things. Specifically, how you're going about with the scorination. I've heard you reference Leagion, a program that I am somewhat familiar with, but I'd like to know how you plan on modifying it for appropriate use in baseball. I'd appreciate some information on this matter, whether you choose to address it here, or via TG. Thank you)

porcupines gearing up for nsbl season one

HAMPTON -- Bedistan's newly formed national baseball team, named the Porcupines in honor of our nation's official animal, has started training for the inaugural season of the NS Baseball League.

The League consists of teams from twenty nations, divided into two divisions of ten, named the First and Second Divisions. Let us take this time to remind all Bedistani readers of this publication that this is baseball, not football (or soccer as it is called by some). The Second Division is not a level below the First Division. The two divisions are of equal standing. This is especially important to note because the Porcupines are in the Second Division.
Second Division
Liverpool England Tigers
Gaian Ascendancy Arch-Angels
Tertaka Suns
Bedistan Porcupines
Tonissia Yeagers
Fmjphoenix
Robotopolis
Fimble Loving Peoples
Kamyr Zeedonks
Hainan Scorpions
Looking at this list, there are a few familiar nations here that you may recognize from our international football exploits. We've played Fmjphoenix before, and while we've never played Gaian Ascendancy, they did make quite a splash in the Baptism of Fire Cup. And of course, we've played Liverpool England way more times than anyone would like to remember (well, any Bedistani; a Liverpooler might disagree with that statement). The rest are all new to us, and remember, a nation's footballing performance is not necessarily related to its baseball prowess. That means we might actually have a shot at winning here.

~ Arch-Angels psyched up for NSBL Season One. ~

GANN Sports Desk: ~ We've been allowed this tansmission despite the current blackout as a morale measure, as well as anticipation in a sport the Gaians admit wholeheartedly that they are more used to. With the posting of the full roster, full of excited talent ready to prove themselves.

Unlike the international Football Team, the Seraphim, and well the amount of pride given that is due, the Gaians are trully excited for a sport that they already have been playing hard at for a few years. They even have developed a Class-AAA farm system based on several worlds.

For their opening day game against Hainan, the put forth their starting line-up.

Starting Pitcher: 12. Scott Kerensky (RHP)

Catcher: 03. Malcolm Lowell

First Base: 06. Kampo Shusayuka
Second Base: 07. Brock Tate
Short Stop: 09. Duo Coldwell
Third Base: 11. Ace Vinson

Right Field: 14. Hare Masaki
Center Field: 16. Datoris Tenkawa
Left Field: 04. Ramon Blalock

With the following hitting rotation..

Hitting Order:
16. Datoris Tenkawa
09. Duo Coldwell
14. Hare Masaki
03. Malcolm Lowell
06. Kampo Shusayuka
04. Ramon Blalock
11. Ace Vinson
07. Brock Tate
##. Pitcher/DH’s

The Arch-Angels use the DH system, though they concentrate some minor amout of training time to getting their pitchers to hit infield shots, making the possibility of RBIs more likely. Their DHs are trained the same.

As for the other teams in their Division, the Gaians see every teams as possible rivals, but the entry of the likes of Liverpool, Bedistan, Fmjphoenix and others give the team ample oppritunity for great matches.

They also look forward to showing the other teams what baseball's all about.

Scharfetter Stadium gears up for opener vs. Adams Island

As the Tiger Sharks get ready to play against Adam's Island, the players have some thoughts about the game.

"This is going to be hard for us." said Starting Pitcher Brian Sheils. "We haven't had much training. I'm not saying we're bad, I just think this isn't going to be easy."

"This game will help us." says third baseman Kevin Monsalve. "This will tell us how well prepared we are at this level. I think we have a good chance, since we have homefield advantage. But Adam's Island is supposed to be tough, so we'll see how things go."

The Tiger Sharks coach, John Kurbel, thinks the Sharks are fine. "We train a lot for this, and I would be suprised if we lost. I'm not saying Adam's Island isn't good. They are a great team. It's just that I know talent when i see it... and these boys deffenatly have the talent to win it all."

The Tiger Sharks v.s Adam Island game will begin tonight at 6:00pm. Don't miss it!

Corneliu vs. Robotopolis

The first game of the season has been established. The Corneliuan Patriots will be playin Robotopolis and it should be a thriller. The Corneliuan Patriots Baseball team has been looking forward to it.

"Its quite invigorating" the manager, Thomas Love stated in an interview, "It should be an interesting game. Robotopolis is a tough team and we are preparing for it to be grueling. We know we will have tough competition throughout the season so through practice and training sessions, we made it grueling. The players didn't like it but they know that it was to prepare them for the season." After the game, the team will then head to East Lithuanian to play the Tiger Sharks.

Featherston City is alive with team spirit. The bars will have the game on the big screen TVs so if your unable to make it to Robotopolis for the game, you can catch it at any bar. The stadium is also ready for its home opener against Hockey Canada. It will be quite an opening ceremony with the Colonial President tossing out the first pitch.

Stadium 'ready' for first game.

As FLP prepare for their first game of baseball the stadium has been proclaimed as ready. It is difficult to see what has been done, but word has it they have installed real changing rooms. And a less reliable source insists they have even grown some grass.

The Not got a namers are hard at work practicing at what for many of them is a home ground.

Team arrives in Robotopolis

The Patriots have arrived in Robotopolis for their first game of the season. The team went from the airport to their hotel then went to the field for practice.

"We have to stay in practice. This is going to be a long season and we want to be in tip-top shape" the manager stated when asked. "We want to play for the title and to do that, you have to be at the top of your game."

The players themselves are getting anxious for the season to start but they are loose. They were joking around during practice but that joking turned to seriousness during hitting and fielding practice.

OOC: Apologies for the delay. Sonaron is working on a more accurate scorinator for this league, as he will be co-heading the NS Baseball League. Just a note that I haven't forgotten about this, and it should be starting fairly soon, so please be patient. :)

Disclaimer: This will turn into an IC post after a scorinator is made. Please direct any OOC comments to the sign-up page.

RE: Season #1 Scorination

The Season #1 Scorinator formula will be as follows:
Attack Value: ((3000 + Offense.Spending*25)+RP.Bonus*5)/8000
Defense Value: ((3500 + Pitching.Spending*25)+RP.Bonus*5)/8000 + 0.85
Home advantage: +0.02 to Defense Value

The RP Bonus will always be a small value, and be based on recent quantity, length, and quality. Teams have until Thursday to announce the amount they're spending on Offense, Starting Pitching, and Relief Pitching. The total of these three must be less than or equal to 100. Teams who do not submit any spending plan will be assigned 28 Offense, 28 Starting Pitching, and 28 Relief Pitching.

Also, you may elect to classify your Starting staff as one of the following two choices:
--Centered around an ace. Your Starting Pitching will be somewhat better on the first day of your rotation, but worse on the other four days.
--Centered around two aces. Your Starting Pitching will be slightly better on the first two days of your rotation, but slightly worse on the other three days.
--Even keel. All of your Starters will be the same quality. This is the default option.

There will be 32 "attacks" for each side in each 9-inning game. For each attack, if Rand()+Attack Value > Defense Value, a run is scored. Extra innings will be four attacks each side each inning. Relief pitching will take over in the latter part of each game.

---

[Edit: OOC: Edited the formulas, I posted the first version not the final version on accident. Also, please TG me (Sonaron) your spending plans. The final alignments will be posted sometime later today. After the deadline, spending will be posted for everyone to see. Changes can be made until the conclusion of matchday 14 (one real life week after the start of the season).]

RE: Season #1 Length, Fixtures, Schedule

The NSBL will be playing a 56 game season in our two-division format this season. Slight re-alignment will occur from the previously posted divisions to ensure that Euroslavia and Sonaron are in different divisions.

Each team shall play each other team within its division four times (twice at home and twice on the road) and each team in the other division twice (once at home and once on the road). The structure of the season will be: 9 divisional games, 10 inter-division games, 18 divisional games, 10 inter-division games, 9 divisional games. Exact fixtures will be made available once re-alignment is completed. Playoff structure will be announced by mid-season. Expect 6-8 teams in the playoffs, with 5 or 7 game series deciding each matchup.

Results will be posted two gamedays per day. Thus, the entire regular season will take 4 weeks of "real time". RP Bonus will take into account any and all posts for the past two weeks of game time (1/4 of the season--14 games.)

Please send your spending plans to the commissioners office ASAP by sending a telegram to the nation of Sonaron.

Thank you for choosing to participate in NSBL, and best of luck this season.

---
[OOC: Fixtures will be completed tomorrow. Spending plans are due by Thursday, and the first results will be posted on Friday. At any time during the first fourteen games of the season, you can change your spending plans. After that time, the spending plans will be posted and no more changes will be permitted. As a reminder, if I do not receive your spending plan by Thursday (two days from today), you will be assigned 28-28-28.]

RE: Season #1 Schedule and Divisions

The revised divisions and schedule have been posted by Euroslavia. Matchdays 1-28 are posted, with 29-56 being the inverse of the first half of the season. Matchday 29 will be the same as matchday 28, with the away teams at home. Matchday 30 will be the same as matchday 27, with the away teams at home. This proceeds for the duration of the season.

In order to separate Sonaron and Euroslavia, the Sonaron Sabres have been moved into division 2. Robotopolis will move into division 1 to take its place. All owners are welcome to suggest names for the division they're in. A poll will be taken during the season to name the divisions.

If you have any questions, please feel free to telegram the league office, c/o the nation of Sonaron.

--
[OOC: The final changes to the divisions and fixtures are complete. What you see in the two posts at the beginning of this thread should be correct. The first two matchdays will be posted on Friday, sometime in the afternoon US EST. Thank you for your participation in NSBL Season 1, sorry for the confusion.]

I must object with one of the leagues' names. The American League. The National League is fine, but we need one that doesn't reflect America.

Armany to Play Adams Island in Season Opener

The Armany Storm are set to open their season against the Adams Island Llamas after a long wait for their first action in the newly-formed NSBL.

"The team," said Manager Rick DuBois, "is ready for action. We've been training long and hard for this season, and we're ready to play."

The team plans to start rookie Jeremy Sadler, the team's ace left-hander, on Opening Day. Sadler has looked good throughout the off-season, and his team has confidence in him.

"We feel that he can make a difference," said DuBois. "This kid, coupled with Fransisco Rivera . . . I'm just excited to see them pitch."

Right-hander Fransisco Rivera is scheduled to start the second game of the season as the Storm will play their home opener against the Alu-Cobalt Lovisa. Fans are looking forward to christening Armany's newly-built stadium in Berg, Torr-An Field, with a standing-room-only crowd, but most seem content to wait until after Armany's opener on the road to hold their festivities for the occasion.

"Us fans are gonna' take 'em one game at a time," said one particularly rabid fan on his way to get tickets at Torr-An Field. "I'll be watching evry' game, and this first 'un's as important as our home opener."

Whether the Armany Storm can match the expectations set upon them by the Armany-loyal remains to be seen. The only thing that is certain is the feel to the air in these warm early-spring days, signalling that baseball is back and here to stay.

Sabres open season with road loss
Largent’s heroics come up just short versus Fimble Loving Peoples

The Sonaron Sabres began play in the NationStates Baseball League Tuesday, playing their first game against the not got a namers of Fimble Loving Peoples. Despite a valiant effort by Largent, the Sabres were unable to close out the game, losing 12-11 on a walk-off grand slam in the 14th frame by FLP DH Wayne Upson. Team manager Jerry Thompson noted that Smith had been complaining over the past week of soreness in his pitching shoulder but bullpen officials claimed he was ready. Thompson said, “Certainly I’m upset that Smith blew a three-run lead in the fourteenth. The season is 56 games long, though. We just need to keep at the basics and work on closing out games.” Smith has been listed on the Injured list as Day-to-Day, and Larson has been designated the closer for Wednesday’s game at Oliverry.

~ Arch-Angels Begin Season Two Game Win Streak ~

Game1-
Gaian Ascendancy Arch-Angels- 5
Liverpool England Tigers- 2

Game2-
Tonissia Yeagers- 2
Gaian Ascendancy Arch-Angels- 4

GANN Sports Desk: ~ The Arch-Angels showed their form over the first two days, as their hitting eclipsed the pitching from both Liverpool and Tonissia.

Datoris Tenkawa, the Gaian's Center Fielder, came away with 2 homers off 4 runs, and two doubles off of a 6 for 8 and a staggering .750 showing over the two games. First Baseman Kampo Shusayuka (3 for 8, .375 avg) was second best with two runs with one homer, and a walk.

Pitcher Scott Kerensky came away from the first game with Liverpool with 6 strikeouts and 14 pop flies, allowing only 5 hits, for 2 runs, no homers. Left hander Ryan Brocall had a tougher showing, allowing 7 hits and two runs against Tonissia in six innings pitched, but Reliever Brendan Pedro helped stiffle Tonissia's offense. Closer Tony Hunter finished off both games with only two hits allowed for both games.

Fan support as a result has shot through the roof, and the game against Sonaron should be a early season sell-out as well, with the game against Tonnisa filled to capacity with fans enjoying the cool spring game. Weather tomorrow should be pleasant in the area as Station Climatizers promise no weather anomalies. This should allow fans another enjoyable game.

For the next two games, Pitchers Nick Johnson and J.J. Mizuhara should give the opposition fits. Already the bullpen is proving itself as well, allowing only three hits and one run over two games, and Closer Tony Hunter is feeling his game arm come in shape.

The next few games should be interesting as the Gaians rev-up for the season ahead.

Win and loss provide "Average" start to baseball season.

A win over Sonaron in the first match was stretched to an incredible 14 innings. And Wayne Upson was the hero of the match, winning it for the Not got a namers near the end of the day. However, he has been told by the coach that he is not to let the praise to go to his head until the team reach later stages and show they are a force to be reckoned with.

The second game saw a crushing defeat at the hands of Fmjphoenix. No players came out of this game with any respect from the coach, and have been forced to train much harder for their next match.

The next match is at the Talestown stadium at home toi Oliverry. The team has been informed they have to win to save national pride after losing the Cherry cup final. However, as usual, they expect to lose.

Average Start, Then On To Victory!

The Tomzilla City Shoguns started off with a win on opening day against Alu-Cobalt Lovisa. They were down, 1 to 0, in the 9th inning with a man on second and third base with Thomas Shadle at the bat. With a count of 3-2, Shadle hit a massive 439 ft. home run, winning the game. The second game went against the Shoguns, as Hans Obreicht made the one and only score for the Shoguns in the game with a RBI. Another home game against Armany and then on to an away game with Canadian Hockey Blizzard. We wish the Shoguns good luck.

Armany Opens Up Season With Pair of Victories

Pitching was the focus of Armany's offseason training. After two games, that training looks to be converting into solid outings.

The Storm (2-0) swept past both of their opponents, Adams Island and Alu-Cobalt, on the arms of their two young guns, Jeremy Sadler and Fransisco Rivera. Sadler pitched a nearly flawless game in the opener at Adams Island, holding the Llamas to just one run while the Arman offense registered four in the win. The next game, at home versus Alu-Cobalt, the Storm once again relied on their starter Fransisco Rivera, as he was brilliant, holding the Lovisa to a limited offensive night and tossing a shutout.

"I like the way our boys played," said Manager Rick DuBois after the win against Alu-Cobalt. "Jeremy [Sadler] and Fransisco [Rivera] really showed everyone why they're considered our best."

The focus now shifts to the upcoming games against Tomzilla City and Robotopolis.

"Our pitching staff has to stay steady," DuBois said, referring to the upcoming starts of pitchers Terrence Copley, a young and inconsistent righty, and Denny Martin, a grizzled veteran who weilds a well-tuned knuckleball. "The offense must step up too. A total of four runs won't be enough against some teams."

"Being on the road makes these next games tough as well. This team has to step up and set the pace early in the season. Our intensity has to be there. Tomzilla City and Robotopolis will bring everything they have."

Only time will tell about the "intensity" of the Armany Storm, but the beginning of the season is a good sign.

Corneliu Drops the first but wins Game 2

Corneliu Patriots 1 at Robotopolis 5 (9 innings)

Our beloved Patriots loses by 4 runs to Robotopolis. "Our fielding just wasn't there today." The manager said. "We also had our opportunities to really win this game late and we didn't. Frankly, our team did play as well as to be expected."

"The game was tough but we had fun even though we did lose. Hopefully we win our next game because in a season such as this, its tough to climb out of a 2 game hole."

And they did win Game 2:

Corneliu Patriots 3 at East Lithuanian Tiger Sharks 1 (13 innings)

"I'm proud of our boys. This was a tough game and we had to go to extra innings to win it."

The game was a pitchers duel till the top of the 8th when the Corneliu was down by a run and Aaron Smith came up to hit. On a 0-2 curve ball, Smith crushes it to Center for a solo shot, tying the game up at 1 apiece. Then in the top of the 13th, Neal Walker hits a 2 run homer to right to give his team the victory.

"Hitting that homerun was huge. I couldn't believe it when I saw that ball sail over right field. This is definitely a momentum booster going into our home opener against Hockey Canada."

The first home game of the season will take place against Hockey Canada at 1:30 so bring the whole family. Its going to be rockin. The Colonial President will be tossing out the 1st pitch.

porcupines start season in fine form

KAMYR -- Two games into the inaugural season of the NationStates Baseball League, the Bedistan Porcupines jointly lead the National Division table with two wins (the Arch-Angels of Gaian Ascendancy being the other team). Apart from Legalese, who play in the Federal Division, the Porcupines are the only team to have started with two wins on the road.

In the first game against Tertaka, the Porcupines fell behind early as Ed Bolt allowed two runs in the bottom of the second. The next inning saw Bedistan get back on its feet, though, with Scott Young's single allowing Sam Reefer to put the Porcupines on the board. The score remained 2-1 Tertaka until the top of the seventh, when Paul Vincent belted out a home run that also brought Andy Coltrane around to score. Bedistan would end up with a narrow but well-deserved 3-2 victory.

The second game against Kamyr was very different, with the 'pines finding themselves with a 2-0 lead by the third inning. Kamyr drew one back in the bottom of the fifth off a Xavier North fastball, but Bedistan wouldn't let that one last. Andy Coltrane makes the news again, this time as the creator of a home run instead of a guy on base when it happened. His sixth-inning shot brought Carpenter in and made the score 4-1. Dimitrios Stantis followed it up with a double, then he advanced to third on a Vincent sacrifice fly. Vásquez' pop-up made it two outs, than Sam Reefer walked to put runners on the corners. Infielder Jeff Oldenburg came to the plate, pinch-hitting for North, and his single brought Stantis in to make it a 5-1 ballgame. The rest of the game was almost perfect for the 'pines until the bottom of the ninth, when closer Mike Fischer allowed two more runs. But 5-3 is where the scoreline would stay.

Sabres Win Second Game
Sabres play small-ball the way it’s meant to be played, get victory

The Sabres earned their first victory of the NSBL season Wednesday, defeating the Oliverry Imperials 4-3 on the road. Oliverry took the early lead with a three run home run in the second inning, but the Sabres notched runs in the third, fourth, sixth, and seventh to take a lead they would never relinquish. Larson pitched a perfect ninth, filling in for the injured Smith. The Sabres travel to the division co-leading Gaian Ascendancy on Thursday before their home opener this Saturday, against the Kamyr Zeedonks. Camor Stadium is completely sold out, although officials have announced plans to release a limited number of standing room only tickets for sale on game day.

"Good Morning Featherston City and to the Colony of Corneliu. We are broadcasting live today from Patriot Park, the home field of our Corneliuan Patriots. In a couple of hours, the Corneliu Patriots will be taking on Hockey Canada in the home opener. It is billed to be a great game."

"That's right Tom. The opening ceremonies is also scheduled to be a big hit too. The Colonial President has already arrived here at the stadium so that traffic isn't disrupted to much. The fans are already piling into the stadium to grab their seats. As for the weather, as you can see, its a cloudless day today with highs in the mid 70s. A great day for baseball."

"That's right Tammy. It is a great day for baseball. Starting on the mound for Corneliu today is Vincent Thompson, a native of Featherston City so I guess its appropriate for him to get the start. This is what he had to say about it."

{Video Plays}I'm excited to get this start. I'm from this area so I know I will have a huge fan support. However, I do know that I will need my best stuff to get the win today. They lost their first 2 games so they'll be aiming hard to get their first win. Hopefully I have what it takes to deny them that victory.{end Video}

"Manager Blair is happy with how the team has performed and knows that this team has the potential to take the division as well as the baseball title."

{Video}The team we have here is strong and I have no doubt that they could take the division as well as the league title. We know it won't be easy but with hard work, we can do it.

Interviewer: Glad to finally have your home opener?

Manager: Yes we are. There is no place like home. Now all we have to do is win our home opener to give us momentum. We have it with our two run victory over the Tiger Sharks but winning on our home turf is a big momentum booster.{end}

"That concludes this portion of the Corneliu Sports Update. Stay tuned through out the day as we bring updates. Also, you can catch the game live, right here if you are unable to make it to the stadium.

"Good Luck Patriots"

Lorentz pitches no-hitter against Corneliu.

Justine Lorentz is a miracle worker. After pitching a perfect game against Corneliu, she was given a royal treatment before her loss to Tomzilla. Here is a more accurate way of saying this:

"Welcome back to the Corneliuan Sports Network. Well, it was a disappointing home opener as Hockey Canada defeats our beloved Patriots 1-0."

"Yes it was a heart breaker. It became a heart breaker when Hockey Canada's best hitter hits a solo shot to left center in the top of the 7th. Corneliu had their chances all afternoon but great D and excellent pitching, kept Corneliu off the scoreboard."

{Video}We knew it was going to be tough. This score proved it. We'll just have to bounce back from it when we play Euroslavia here at home.{End Video}

"That was the manager who, as you could tell, was disappointed with the loss. The loss however, was tougher on Vincent Thompson, who gave up that solo shot."

I shouldn't have thrown him that fast ball. I should've thrown the slider. I really wanted to win this game infront of my family and home crowd and I let them down. I know I will still be pitching but I really wanted to start out with a victory

"That was what Thompson said after the game."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Day 2 wasn't a repeat performance. Nike Cole only gave up one run while picking up his first victory of the season. The final was 3-1 Patriots over Euroslavia.

"Corneliu jumped out to a quick one nothing lead in the bottom of the second with a double to center field that scored Lawrence Featherston who was on first base after taking a walk. It turned 3-0 when Peter Skywalker hit a 2 run homer to left field.

"However, they couldn't keep Euroslavia off the board. They got their only run in the 8th inning with a single up the middle that scored Tom Pellerin from third base. However, closing pitcher Quincy Washington came in and pitched perfectly."

It was great to come in again and get this save. Giving up that run kinda took the momentum away but then I got the call and I mowed them down.

"That was the closing pitcher.

"That wraps us up here. Stay tuned as we bring you up to the minute updates."

((OC- Um, no-hitters in major league baseball are FAR from boring. You should look at some ESPN replays sometime when a no-hitter is announced. The crowds are sometimes manic when they happen.

..not to mention no-hitters are rare in MLB play. The same should be done here. There should be a special function in the scorinator to reflect this to say if there's a no-hitter that results, with some kind of function that makes such occurances rare, but still random.

That's my opinion anywho...))

The "Average-ness" continues with win and loss.

The third matchday was a close match against Oliverry for FLP. But, as tends to happen in these encounters, Oliverry came out on top. Losing by just 5-4 would be crushing for the team, but they kept their composure going into MD4.

MD4 was much more successful, as the Tertaka Suns were trampled beneath the Not got a namers. The final score implies a complete whitewash, and it was, but the Suns put up a respectable fight and will be gutted with the missed oppurtunites.

Solid Pitching Continues, but Storm Split On Road Trip

Armany's solid pitching continued in games four and five of the NSBL inaugural season. However, that factor alone was not enough to continue Armany's undefeated season.

The Storm (3-1) split their two road games against Tomzilla City and Robotopolis, defeating the Shoguns in another of their characteristic pitching duels before falling to the latter team in a low-scoring heartbreaker.

In game one, the young Terrence Copley pitched brilliantly through eight innings, allowing only two runs to the Tomzilla City Shoguns lineup but retiring late in the game with only a no-decision. With the game locked up at 2-2, the Arman bullpen then entered the game and pitched flawlessly, with Jody Sempara, Mitch Stratton, and closer Terry Thurman shutting out the Shoguns over the final two innings. The hitting abilities of Antonio DeMay then gave the Storm the lead in the top of the tenth, as he slashed a hanging curveball into the right field bleachers in the first session of extra innings. Terry Thurman then shut down the opposition to get the win.

Game two was another pitcher's battle, with knuckleballer Denny Martin giving it all he had and holding Robotopolis to two runs over seven innings. yet still suffering the loss without any run support other than a scant solo-homer in the sixth by Ken Lawrence.

"We played two tough teams," Manager Rick DuBois said. "The pitching was downright fabulous, but our hitting continues to struggle. Still, I was proud of the way we played, even though we lost to an undefeated team."

The only bright spot was Datoris Tenkawa, with two RBIs in the 6th and 8th innings, trying to spark a rally late in the game, off of 2 for 4 hitting, two doubles driving in the RBIs.

The game verses Bedistan was far better, as the Gaians crushed off four homers with two from Datoris, with Hare Masaki with a homer and an RBI, and Ramon Blalock with a homer. Brock Tate drove in a finishing RBI in the 6th on a single, allowing Malcolm Lowell to score from third base off his own triple.

Corneliu Drops Two in a row

After starting off the season with a .500 record, our beloved Patriots have dropped their next two games. They lose to Legalese in a 7-1 blowout and drops a heartbreaker to the Adam Island Llamas 4-3 in 11 innings.

"These losses are tough. However, its still early in the season and I'm sure that our team will perform to their fullest potential. We still have a shot at winning the division but our aim is to just make the playoffs. Nothing has yet been damaged by these losses."

"It is hard, especially the 11 inning loss but we'll bounce back. You wait and see. We'll put together a string of victories that'll propell us into the next round of the season."

2 wins over the past few days have sent Hockey Canadians ecastic as they jumped to 5th place in the past few days. Wins over East Lithuania and Robotopolis, handed Robotopolis their 1st loss of the season and 5th for EL. However, seeing that I'm short on time and this RP couldn't be more messed up. I bid you adu. Armany Shut-Out at Home, Then Picks Up Road Win

.500 baseball is the norm for the Armany Storm lately. Playing well at home isn't.

The Armany Storm (4-2) dropped their first game against Adams Island 2-0, in a shutout that had Manager Rick DuBois shaking his head and fans leaving the game early. Starter Russell Weaver was charged with the loss, even though he pitched beautifully, giving up only two runs. The offense was the problem.

"Two hits isn't enough," DuBois said after the game. "Hitting is defintely the problem."

In the next game, on the road versus the Euroslavia Chromas, the Storm fared better, with ace Jeremy Sadler (2-0) giving up one run during his brilliant outing. The Arman offense, during a time where runs come as hard as rain in the desert, was able to scrap for two runs.

"It was enough for me," an exhausted Sadler said after the game.
