Kremlin Palace

Alexei was getting ready for the big event, considering he was going to be Czar. Prince John was orchestrating the final preparations in the Throne Room.

--------------
The Throne Room

Prince John unsealed the massive gold doors to the throne room. At the back, the throne literally hovered there, above an altar-like structure. At the back, the massive Eye of Providence glared over the room. Around the room, torches lit up, but they emitted pure, white light, instead of yellow, dull light.

The entire room was made of a white material, but no one to this day has found out what it actually is. Dersconi Flags line the walls, as do the Coat of Arms of each of the Royal Families. The Coat of Arms currently at the throne is sewn on to the back of the cushon of the Throne, and it is also engraved in the headrest.

Columns, pure white in colour, lined the approach to the floating throne. Each column was engraved with the cross, under it was the phrase "In hoc signo vinces" -- In this sign you shall be victourious. It was engraved there upon the Rekjyavich's ascention to the throne, as the Rekjyavich family were the decendents of Constantine I.

John made sure everything was okay, and then he went to the altar under the floating throne. On it was a jeweled box. When John opened it, the Czar's Holy Crown was visible. He recoiled from the light -- it nearly blinded him. He picked it up on it's little pillow also in the chest and examined it.

"Good, no blemishes." He set it back down in the chest and put it back on the altar. He rescanned the room one last time, and left, shutting the doors behind him. They were not to be opened until Eleven o' clock so the choir and the orchestra could fill in and everything could get ready.

Emperor Antonette and Cardinal Hughes were touring Moscow. They decided to wrap it up. They boarded a flight and headed back to the Andropov Military City.

OOC: Righto.
============
The plane landed and they were ushered to the Grande Hall, where they were greeted by Prince John.

"Good Morning, Cardinal, Emperor." He ushered them to the floating platform that has yet to not amaze anyone. "You will not be able to speak with Alexei until after the coronation. As is custom, the Czar-to-be wakes up at sunrise and spends the entire morning in a state of meditatory prayer. He is not to be disturbed unless RAMC is about to be destroyed!" He smiled and took them to the Guest Hall.

"Your rooms from yesterday are still there, as is everything. On your door you should find a document illustrating the customs of Coronation. They are not printed in any history book. Actually, they are forbidden to be printed except by direct order from the Czar. Nothing real ritualistic goes on, but it gives the coronation a more mystic feel, and we like that. Goes back to the pagan sorcery of Andropov the Great. We mustn't forget our heritage, after all."

OOC: No coronation until tomorrow RL.

"Thanks" said Antonette. They both went up to their rooms and looked over the packet. They both then walked back down stairs to Jhn. The Cardinal and Antoentte both blurted out, almost at the same time,
"Where can I get a good drink around here?"

"There's a help-yourself bar over there. Everything the GPWAS shoppe sells is there. Also, there's a book over there on the pulpit looking thing. Recipies for mixed drinks. The good ones are highlighted!" He smiled and poured himself a root beer. "There's a soda fountain, too, if you want something non-alchoholic."

Reverend Rainley knocked on the door of Cardinal Jacob's door. "It's me Rainley, I have some things to discuss about the Coronation" he shouted. Jakob opened the door "Aah, Rainley come in!". He was dressed as usual in his Papal garb but he didn't wear different else due to his devotion to the Church.

There was boxes emblazioned with the Cross of Jerusalem on his table. There were all sealed. "What's in those?" Rainley asked the Bishop. "Just presents from the Queen to the new King. The best craftmen in Jeruselem have worked on these, but I'm not allowed to open them. Neither are you. Now those questions?" the Bishop smiled. One of the boxes was 5 feet long. The Reverend "That's a sword, right?". The Bishop nodded.

The Reverend showed him his rather long document and the Bishop said "It's going to be a long day Rainley.".

John was overlooking the guest list for the coronation when he looked up at the Commander of the Guard.

"Up to you for the guard count. I don't know anything, which is why you're around." The Commander of the Praesillei Dei, the Crown's Army, which consisted of the Black Angels, the Dersconi Imperial Guard, the Honour Guards, and the Praetorian Guard, nodded.

"I know. I say we line the Throne Room with Honour Guards in full ceremonial dress, mostly for looks. The Praetorian will surround the altar, and the Imperial Guard will be stationed outside the room for added security. Each person will be escorted by two Honour Guards."

"Are you sure about the escort thing? The Honour Gards are an alien race, after all."

"Most people get use to it after they visit the Kremlin. If not, oh well. It will instill the omnipotence of the Czar into people even more."

"Okay, good idea. I'll leave things up to you."

"Thank you, sir."

"Go to it."

"Drunkards? Maybe so" Antonette said, then laughed.

Cardinal Hughes poured a glass of Baileys Irish Cream and put it in front of Antonette. He then pured himself one. They both drank them, and had one more. Antonettes Imperial Guardsmen lurked in the backround. They finished up, and retired to there rooms.
Alone in his room, Antonette walked over to his luggage. He pulled out a huge painting, a portrait of Jesus Christ on his heavenly throne, with the new Czar below him, on his earthly throne. Like an angelic being, Czar Ian Andropov III hovered between the two. The frame was solid gold. He put it away, for the coronation.

The Throne Room

The throne room is in the very center of the Palace. No one is allowed in there except under orders of the Czar or for a coronation, under threat of death.

At this time, though, the choir and orchestra were filing into the Throne Room. They knew the linup of the pieces already, so they needed not rehearse. After they entered, the Honour Guards assembled, as did the Praetoran Guard surround itself around the altar and the Floating Throne. The Imperial Guard took hold on the outside along with the two Honour Guards flanking the doorway.

Star Office

Prince John used the conference call function to call each of the guests in the Palace.

"Good morning everyone, this is Prince John. The coronation is about to begin. Please assemble in the Grande Hall. God Bless." When he hung up, he went over to the prayer chamber ajoining the Star Office.

He opened the door to see Alexei meditating by the altar with the cross in the red, candle-lit room.

"Alexei?" His eyes opened.

"It's time." Alexei stood up from the ground in plain robes. He came out, slipped on his shoes, and ajusted the hood on the cloak. Alexei, tall, handsome, and twenty-four years old, was going to become the youngest Czar to hold the throne. Prince John, who was Thirty-one, was the older one, but he refused the job. John looked at Alexei.

"You ready?" Alexei smirked.

"I'd better be." John chuckled and led him out to the passage into the anteroom of the Throne Room. John took Alexei aside into a room.

"We wait here."

The Heads of State from the other nations were going inside for the seats. John looked at Alexei.

"Welp, time to go." Both the Princes walked down the isle to "Preussens Gloria," escorted by Honour Guards. At that point, everyone stood. Alexei dawned the ceremonial robes of the Czar and stood in front of the throne, which was hovering above the altar.

"As appointed by God, our Lord and Saviour, Creater of Heaven and Earth, Alexei Alexandrovich Andropov, the Lord has appointed you to rule over the Divine Kingdom of Derscon, keeper of the Holy Ark, Defender of the Commandments. Do you accept this honour?"

"As God as my Witness, I pledge my life to the protection of Derscon and the Holy Ark. God shall be my guide and protector." John turned to the crowd.

"Please join me in the singing of "A Mighty Fortress is Our God."

*Hymn*

John turns to the crowd.

"You are all here to witness the coronation of the Czar of Derscon, and most of your Arch-Chancellors. The office of Czar is much more than a title and a political office. The God-Appointed Czar also is the protector of God's most precious item given to the human race -- The Ark of the Covanent and the Ten Commandments." When John said that, the orchestra and choir broke into Carmina Burana, and the giant Eye of Providence glowered. The disks around the triangle started spinning, and the triangular thing split apart down the center, and moved aside, exposing an inner sanctum of sorts.

Four priests (OOC: Not catholic, btw) entered escorted by four Honour Guards. They wore the robes of the Jewish High Priests that were the only ones allowed to see the Ark of the Covanent during the Exodus. THe entered the inner sanctum and came out -- carrying the Ark of the Covanent. This happened only after the room and its occupants were blessed by John and the four priests.

The Ark was laid on the Altar, and Prince John walked up to it, and opened it.

He pulled out the Crown of the Czar, and also pulled out...

the two stone tablets given to Moses by God on Mount Sinai -- the Ten Commandments. Two priests stood at the Ark, which was now surrounded by Honour Guards, while the other two took the stone tablets, following John, who held the Crown. The priests held out the tablets.

"Place your left hand on the Sacred Tablets and your right hand up to God, and repeat after me." Alexei raised his right hand, and placed his left on the Ten Commandments.

"I, Alexei Alexandrovich Andropov --"

"I, Alexei Alexandrovich Andropov --"

"Do solemnly swear, as God as my Witness --"

"Do solemnly swear, as God as my Witness --"

"To uphold the Law of the Land, and the Defence of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ --"

"To uphold the Law of the Land, and the Defence of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ --"

"To defend the nation of Derscon from both foreign and domestic threats to Soveregnty and Sanctity --"

"To defend the nation of Derscon from both foreign and domestic threats to Soveregnty and Sanctity --"

"And, with God as my Witness, do solemnly swear to protect the Sacred Commandments with my life, and to maintain the Holy Covanent with the Lord, our God."

"And, with God as my Witness, do solemnly swear to protect the Sacred Commandments with my life, and to maintain the Holy Covanent with the Lord, our God." John put his hands at his side, and the commandments were placed back in the Ark.

"Alexei Alexandrovich Andropov; I, John Rekjyavich, Archbishop of Derscon, hereby crown you Emperor of the Protestant Prussian Czardom of Derscon, Arch-Chancellor of Greater Prussia, and Protector of the Covanent." John placed the crown on Alexei's head, and Alexei sat down on the hovering throne, which rose a little more. Just then, the Ark emitted a beam of pure white light from itself, passing through the throne. You could hear the massive clocktower strike twelve noon. When it subsided, Alexie was in full cerimonial dress of the Czar, and the orchestra and Choir broke out in "The Hallelujah Chorus." Prince John then turned to the crowd.

"The rituals here are a secret long held by Derscon, as is the fact that the Ark of the Covanent resides in Derscon. One must never release the things that go on in this chamber, under punishment of eternal damnation to hell. God Bless all of you." Everyone was dismissed, and it was just John, the priests, and Alexei. Alexei took off the crown and handed it to the priests, who put it in the Ark, which was placed in the Inner Sanctum. The Priests were then escorted out by twelve Honour Guards. John turned to Alexei.

"To the Star Office. The Heads of State should be meeting there now. We need to get ahead of them." The Praetorian Guard surrounded them, and they made their way up to the Star Office.

<A side conversion, very quiet>

Bishop Jacob didn't look happy after the coronation. Rainley was puzzled and asked "Aren't you happy about the new King?".

The ex-Jew looked troubled "It's not the new King of Derscon or his government. You saw what they have that belongs to us. The Ark of the Covenant and Ten Commandments. If they are real, it is troubling. Us Jews lost those a long time ago and they turn up here? We've been looking for those things for a long time"

"But they belong to the people of God, Jacob. The Jews and Christians and you're not Jew ..." Rainley tried to reason but had to stop as he about to say something really stupid.

"The Jews lost the Ark to Babylon and the Ten Commandments were smashed. I have some research to do. At least the Fabus anti-Christs don't have it so it's not all bad. Never mind, let's do our business in the Star Office." the Bishop grumbled quietly. The Reverend didn't want hassle him too much.

Star Office

John was in a deep state of thought when he suddenly turned to Alexei.

"Alex."

"Yeah?"

"I've been thinking."

"That's a good thing."

"Seriously, though. Publicly showing the Sacred Ark could anger some people." Alexei raised an eyebrow.

"Why do you say that?"

"Well, first off, many people believe that the Babylonians stole the Ark and smashed it up. Blatant falsehood, but people might think we're lying."

"Well, we're not. But that's not everything, is it."

"Jewish people might get pretty POed at Derscon for having their most sacred icon." Alexei nodded.

"I'd say. After they shipped it to Ethiopia for safekeeping," Alexei said. John looked at him.

"Yeah. They also might not like the fact we moved it to a more secure location." Alexei shook his head.

"Moved? We did a commando raid on the village and stole it. Not our brightest moment in history. Then again, it was under the Romanov era, and we all know that those Iesus Catholics were not the most holy of people." John nodded.

"True, true. I'm still amazed that the MSS had been able to cover it up."

"I'm not. The Romanov Inquisition annihilated the village and killed all those who knew about it. There's only one document that tells of the 'transfer,' and that's in the Imperial Vaults." The Imperial Vaults were vaults that -- like the Papal vaults are to the Pope -- only the Czar can enter. "No one would ever know how we got it. Frankly, I'd like to keep it that way. We have some of the most secure facilities on Earth."

"What about giving it back to the Jewish Peoples?" John inquired. Alexei scoffed.

"Absolutely not. They failed to protect it twice, what makes you think I'd let them lose it a third time? Besides, so many people hate the Jews that the Ark would be a prime target. It is much safer here in Derscon. Best not to give it back." John nodded in submission.

"Good point."

"Yes I am a minor sir. My people have complete trust in me. As for how I got here, I got elected based on my activities during the Formal Dances revolution that tossed the monarchy right out of power. I rose up to head one of the main cells in Waltz City! I was a planner. I knew the area that I was controlling better than everyone else I had under me. Before the final attack on the City, I was given control of the entire rebel network in the Capitol when the leadership was taken out. I managed to organize the cells and planned the rebel cell attack to coincide with the military attack. Turned out we didn't need the military attack. The plan that my staff and I turned out was better executed than we even planned. I led the attack on the palace itself! I knew where most of the passages were because my parents worked in the palace and I explored it myself." She sighed heavily recounting the attack. "When the fight was over. I also helped form the Constitution of Formal Dances. You may think I'm a minor and in most cases I am, however, we recognize you as an adult at 16! When you turn 16, you can vote or run for office. Because of my activities in the rebellion, my friends convinced me to run for the Presidency. I didn't think I was going to win but I did by a slim margin."

She sipped her tea and laid back in the chair she was in. "Don't underestimate me your majesty and Highness. I maybe a minor in your eyes, but my people don't see me as such and I can be a major headache for anyone who thinks otherwise. Besides, my opponets played the age card and it didn't get them into the Presidential Palace." She said smiling with a slight giggle.

Bishop Jacob spotted Antonette, a person he wanted to talk to. He was walking with the Queen's personal arms as a badge, reserved for those who have been appointed as the Queen's personal representatives in the absence of the Royal family. He had been doing the rounds with other Catholics while Rainley was training his skills with Protestant leaders.

The badge was the star of David with a sword superposed (pointing downwards) flanked by two Fleur de Lis. The sword was her authority from the Cross, the two Fleur de Lis symbolised the Crown of France and Star of David was self-explanitory.

Since Antonette was busy it would have been bad diplomatic etiquette to interrupt proceeding abruptly decide to wait until the good King of Burgundy had finished his chat with the leader of Formal Dances. While Bishop Jacob looked like a minor diplomat, in reality he was next in line for the position of Patriach of Jerusalem, head of Jeruselem Catholic Church. Cardinal Brown had decline any offer as he wanted to retire to Rome later in this life.

He handed the Reverend some fine red wine and Rainley declined "I don't drink, but thank you Bishop.".

"This is finest wine in Greater Prussia, please take advantage as God wants you enjoy a little indulgence. These men of God you want to enjoy!" Jacob encouraged him. He took the wine sheepishly and had some. "It's good" Rainley was surprised.

He was also eavesdropping on what the leader of Formal Dances had been saying about her age. Young leaders often fell to the wiles of their wicked counsellors.

My story is pretty boring really. The position of Shogun is simply passed down through generations. The assassin part is interesting, but we won't go there.

"They maybe affiliated however, have you ever considered listening to what they have to say? They could help you make Cherry Ridge a better place."

You have no idea of what the Pax Maria have done. They were a splinter cell for the creul intentions of the late illegitimate emperor of GP. They killed, etc..., and of late, they are still carrying out activities even in Derscon. Several have been caught trying to do a covert mission into Honimishu Castle back home. Some of them are low level people of non-importance and they go on to lead productive lives. This happened in our own Civil War. They are not punished for being on the wrong side. The high ranking ones, we execute them after a fair trial. That is how we handle them. But that is just us. We have our own terrorist problems but they've pretty much been silent because we listen to their side and we investigate. If we find them right, we take steps to prevent it in the future. That is all I have to say. Hopefully we can work past this and come to a satisfied peace."

Upon the drawing of the weapons, thirty Honour Guards rushed in and surrounded the group, staffs pointed inward. The Praetorian Guard surrounded the Prince and the Czar with their shields and pointed their weapons inward at the Shogun, Server, Antonette, and O'Reilly, who were within the circle of Honour Guards. When Server flung the Shogun across the room, Alexei drew the Dragon Sword. (which, btw, can NOT be cut by a lightsabre. I already tried it. :))

"ENOUGH!" Alexei's shout was so powerful it shook the chairs that were now scattered across the room.

"Put your weapons down, ALL OF YOU! I will not have this going on in my house!" Prince John snapped his fingers and four platinum-clad guards came out. Two had Masamunes, two had Muramasas. The two with the Muramasas had Clerical Rings, which were designed to negate the possession of the swords. John had a sword -- the swinging sword that once guarded the gates to Eden. John then stepped forward.

"If any one of you makes an offensive move to another person, you will stand before the White Throne of Judgement." What he was referring to, of course, was the time after Jesus returned that all of the sinners were judged and cast into the lake of fire. In other words, he was saying that the guards would ensure everyone died. Alexei looked over the people.

"Put down your weapons. All of you have been acting like children here. Antonette, your reactions were rash and uncalled for. You must learn to control your anger. If I see something like this again, I will remove your title as king of Burgundy and take it as my own. I do not want to see you again until you have learned to control yourself. Leave. I wish not to speak with you." Four Honour Guards came up -- all were seven feet tall -- and escorted Antonette back to his room in the Kremlin. Alexei then turned to Server.

"Your drawing of your lightsabre was not necessary, and an overreaction. You tried to put out the fire by using oil. I've heard many, many great things about you. I have not seen you live up to your reputation." Alexei finally looked at the Shogun.

"Shogun Kenshin, while I am impressed as always at someone who has knowledge of the Pschycic Energy given off by the Elements, now is not the time to use it. You, also, have acted inappropriately. Guards, take O'Reilly to the dungeons."

"Guards, you are dismissed. You," he said, nodding towards the Gold-Clad Guard.

"Go check on Antonette, see if he's calmed down. If he has, bring him back up here." Alexei replaced the Dragon Sword in its spot, and sat down. He motioned everyone else to do the same.

I care about the majority as well as the minority. However, what you have is basically the tyrant majority ignoring the minority. No wonder someone is trying to take down the government. I would too if I lived in that type of Society. Ever thought about listening to them for a change? See what they would like? No I didn't think you did. In my country, all minorities have a voice and our parliment takes what they say seriously. They have many good ideas and we've implemented most of them too. As for drawing my weapon, I've already apologized for it. Now, let us talk about what is plaguing Cherry Ridge in a mature manner."

Alexei shook his head. "If it were that simple, there would be a one world religion. it isn't that simple, and God does care. But as you said, let us not turn this into a religious debate." Alexei stared down Cardinal Hughes. One thing Alexei inherited from his father was his ability to intimidate people by glaring. One of these methods was making his eyes glow red. The late Cardinal DeVito could attest to this, had he still been around.

"Cardinal Hughes, lower your voice. Server is trying to make a point here, but you're not letting him. He did not draw his weapon because you were Catholic, he drew his weapon because you were drawing yours. The Jedi's concern is only to keep the peace. Sometimes in order to do this you must eliminate or intimidate those that do not wish for peace, which is what he was going to do. Also, Antonette drew first. Alexei saw Server whisper to Sheridan, and when Sheridan got up and left, he pressed a button under the desk and a TV came up with security feed from inside the Imperial Hall. He triggered the laser system and Sheridan's person was to be shadowed from the moment he left the Imperial Hall. Alexei didn't want anything in Greater Prussia going on without his knowledge and approval, and if Sheridan does something stupid, Alexei wanted to make sure there'd be someone around to ensure nothing else happened.

After that ten second clip was done, he looked back up, holding a bottle of Napoleon Premier, to cover up what he was doing. He filled a glass and put it on the table.

"Anyone want some?" Regardless, he continued as Hughes was escorted out of the room to the plane by a security detail of four Honour Guards. They would dissapate after reaching the plane, in which case the Burgundain Guards that came with Hughes would take over.

As President Rice and Antonette went back and forth, Alexei's mind was racing.

This is not what I wanted to get out of this meeting. Cherry Ridge, a loyal ally of the Greater Prussian Empire, which I am not only a part of but am second in command of, is about to fight Corneliu, the nation my grandfather took under his wing and then let fly, and has been Derscon's closest ally since. Alexei was trying hard to conceal his emotion, but he figured it was actually better to show his concern on his face, so he stopped hiding it.
This would be a useless war, one that could be solved. Neither party wants to give anything, and the third party is being ignored. He thought a bit harder.

Is peace even achievable? How can you come to terms with an organization bent on your total destruction? You can't. These types of people will not rest or collaberate until their goal is accomplished. Just like the Muslim terrorists that failed to take down the West so long ago. These people can't be negotiated with. He narrowed his eyes and took a sip of his drink.

Then again, neither can we. Everyone here is being stubborn, and then blinded by a superiority complex. Then again, I am partially at fault. The execution idea was only ment to be a provocation. I don't want innocents to die, but it didn't work. If I recall it, it will be a sign of weakness, and O'Reilly will want this, as he will have a better chance at an upper hand. If you let the enemy have the upper hand, he'll become harder to negotiate with. Then again, an enemy with no hope will not negotiate, as he has nothing to gain.

These people are different, though. They don't care WHAT hand they have. Every dead Catholic is a victory, every capitulation is a victory. They can't lose, as they have nothing TO lose. There is only one option -- annihilation. He grimaced to himself when he thought of it.

Is there any other? I don't like it. I don't want to be responsible for that many deaths -- possibly of innocents. But is there another way? He took another sip of the wine.

If there is, I fail to see it.

Sheridan left the Palace and headed for the embassy. Once he entered the Embassy, he made sure that once he entered that any prying eyes weren't spying on him. He activated the best security mechinisms that were built into the Embassy and went to the communications office.

He entered and type out a coded transmission and had it beamed to the Presidential Cruiser. Upon receiving it, it was beamed back down on a different encryption key to the diplomatic staff to prepare.

Back in the Star Office, President Server stared at Antonette. "There are better ways to deal with people you don't like than arrest and death. "President Rice, I believe you have succumbed to the democracy propoganda. Monarchies are not evil. The select few that are are exploited by people and it is seen to make it look like all monarchies are oppressive regimes. I have some of the most liberal civil rights in the Greater Prussian Empire -- how do you call that oppressive? Granted, all political athourity in my nation rests with me, but it's worked for over two thousand years, minus the fifteen in the Romanov Catholic family. I'd say that's pretty good, wouldn't you? After all, if the people are happy, why change? Democracy is corrupted too easily. Granted, so is a monarchy, but that's the reason we only allow the devout Christians in office -- so God keeps them in check." He sighed, and shook his head at Server and Antonette.

"President Server, would you be willing to jepordize our alliance -- nay it is more than that. MY great grandfather, Czar Rekjyavich Ivan Andropov II, took your nation under his wing. Our two nations have been near brothers since existance. Would you be willing to jepordize this over Antonette's supposed ignorance?

"Regardless of how close we may be, I am Arch-Chancellor of Greater Prussia. I have not only the moral obligation to defend Cherry Ridge, but it is my GOD-GIVEN DUTY to defend Greater Prussia and her nations at all costs. If you attack, I will have no other choice but to order the combined force of Greater Prussia on you.

"But," Alexei said, turning to Antonette. "Now that O'reilly's gone, I can say this. Do not execute the Masons, that was a scare tactic. Unfortunately, it failed. I do not care if you imprison them, but don't execute them. Also, allow the Masons a chance to leave your nation before going after them. "Good question. Do you have an answer?

As for democracies, I won't deny that some democracies do rig their elections. Most if not all of them are totalitarian democracies. We had free and open elections in my country. As for bribary, some of that does go on but when it gets exposed, the people involved get punished. I know of a few people in my own government that were sent to jail for bribary. I said good ridence when they were hauled out. I don't tolerate it and neither do the people."

"Anyway people of Greater Prussia can assist us with going into space?"
Pschycotic Pschycos
19-03-2005, 21:34
Indeed we can. As a matter of fact, we are in the process of beefing up our fleet. We have a lunar base that is in often use, several space platforms, and roughly 50 battleships and mobile assault carriers operating as we speak. After hitting the one billion people mark, space became rare, so a series of PLANTs, or production colonies, free floating at some of the Lagrange points were built to house them. We have hourly shuttles leaving for them, nearly 30 PLANTs by now. Granted, we're only in near-earth orbit, but we don't need to go much further. So this is about the extent that I can help you. Derscon has longer range equipment. If you need anything of near-earth orbit, let me know, and I'll help you.
Jeruselem

"President Rice, if you require some starting equipment to kick start your space programme, Jeruselem can help. For a while, we have been decommisioning our Jericho III ICBM's which are being replaced by the Jericho IV or what others called the Armageddon Pointy Stick. They usually get turned into launch rockets for our space programme, but we have some in surplus. We are happy to assist your programme with these missiles as long as they are used with the parameters of our Extraterrestrial Assistance Programmes. We can provide these at a healthy discount. You can place medium-sized satellites into space with these rockets. Incidentally they are called Babel II." Bishop Jacob decided to join in the conversation finally.

Alexei nodded. "I have every intention on moving into space. As Jeruselem can vouch for me, when you have over three billion people, it gets crowded. Currently, my Space Defence Platforms -- space stations designed to eliminate enemy satellites and fire upon enemy stratiegic targets -- are about to be mounted with MAC-21 antistarcraft artillery weapons. It will take massive power plants, though, and I don't think the fusion reactors on board will cut it. I'll need antimatter, probably, and I don't have the tech to stabilize it. We're currently working with Allanea, but if some of you can help out, that would rock."

We do have a more effective means of launching equipment, even whole ships, into space. Our mass driver (patent pending) is just a giant electromagnetic railgun for cargo purposes. Sure the tree-huggers didn't like the five nuclear powerplants we had to build, but it's damn effective. If anyone wants to use it, let me know. For you the charge is free.

We found that you needed five power plants when we tried with only the existing power grid. The whole nation was without power for two months. Not only that, but the main cannon of the original LIBRA laser artilliry platform was halfway up. Let's just say that our current space forces could see the explosion.
