In Earth's orbit the station heavily damaged and increasingly slipping further away from the planet as it's orbit degraded into an elipse that threatened to throw it out of orbit entirely, or perhaps smash it into the earth. This station was the Phyrric I. It was not entirely dead, in fact it was getting much better.

Behind shutters and the external appearance of damage and blasted superstructure, the interior regions were rebuilt. Phyrric's Allied Aerospace had joined forces with Avery Frost Aeronautics and the Free Republic's Ministry of Defence, to rebuild the station , for months the Sword of Damocles Orbital Assault Vehicles had ferried supplies and workers to the station, replacing bombs with materials and workers in their ordinance bays. The small, nearly invisible craft slowly brought what was needed. Today they brought the stations new commader.

Colonel Seleucas walked through the airlock, looking over the repaired interior of the station and the new systems that dotted the walls and filled the new central control room. He saluted the Air Guard officers manning the station, and they saluted back and then turned to the window that looked in on the stations new reactor, it was slated to be activated today and begin powering Phyrrus I back to life.

Colonel Seleucas walked closer to the window and looked through , watching the strange armoured figure moving in and out of the globular reactor.

"What is he doing? Should he be inside there?" he asked.

Leftenant Graves answered "I don't know is the best answer I can give you, we aren't certain what he's doing. I mean we don't even know what this technology is?"

Seleucas nodded "Right, is it going to ready to be switched on today?"

Graves nodded "Yes Sir, everything is apparently on schedule."

Seleucas watched as a spider like robot, with a dangling mock-human head crawled down the side of the reactor and paused, seemingly conferring with the armoured figure.

The station would come back to life, but a good portion of the technology was not made anywhere on Earth.

Urso of the Guild of Engineers made final preparations on the stations new Resonance Generator, his final calculations and preparations would last a few minutes more. As he worked his Construct, ADF-C1 scuttled down the side of the generators shell.

"The shielding is flawless , the chamber is sealed and it safe to initiate a reaction when you desire Urso." the Construct purred.

Urso nodded and responded in his buzzing voice
"Excellent, alert the Amabassador.......................that it is nearly time....................to begin the reaction."

Construct ADF-C1 bobbed it's head in reply and transmitted the message to Ambassador-XD

The Ambassador's eyes clicked open as 'she' received the update from the Generator. She then activated herself fully and moved to the command center. She moved gracefully her body soft and supple with her face made to resemble a human face by those that didn't seem wuite sure what all of the parts were for.

Ambassador-XD greeted the crew, with whom she had been working and then to Colonel Seleucas, her voice purring liquidly, her mouth and face moving with the words in an exaggerated manner even though her voice came from her chest.

"Greetings Colonel. The Generator will begin to power up momentarily. I am fully certain that you will be pleased by the results and that we can solidify the positions of our nations after the initial tests and formalize our cooperation."

She smiled and looked through the portal , where Urso was once again entering the reactor chamber.

"It appears Urso of the Guild of Engineers is nearly prepared." She stated melodicly.

Colonel Seleucas looked the 'Ambassador' up and down and wasn't quite sure how address the robot.

"I'm Colonel Seleucas of the Air Guard, er, I'm anxious to see exactly how this thing works. My technicians can't tell me anything about it. This 'Resonance Generator, it's not anything we've had experience with."

He decided that he woudn't comment on cementing relations and finalizing deals and such, after all, it wasn't up to him one way or the other. He turned back to the window as the Ambassador did and watched the Engineer go back into the reactor.

He grumbled as he did "I'm curious to see how a reactor with nothing in it is going to generate energy."

Ambassador-XD 'smiled' an incongrous, artifical thing, at the Colonel.

"Of course you do not understand it's functions, that is precisely why we are here, to help you. The Commonwealth is only interested in aiding you in your scientific endeavors. "

She turned and watched Urso enter the reactor core.

"It is necessary that the Engineer be in the reator to initiate the dark matter reaction. He will manipulate the dark matter to form the core of the gravitic reaction and make sure that it does not grow too fast and lead to a possible gravitational anomaly."

Inside the reactor Urso manipulated his device and watched the steady sream of dark matter that occured naturally everywhere, most beings had no idea these particles were here, but he could see them and manipulate them.

"ADF-C1, divert the fusion reactor's energies.....................to the magnetic core." he buzzed.

The construct stalked over to the controls, initiating the reactor. The magnetic field began to attract the dark matter slowly at first, they began spinning around the core, as the spinning increased, more particles were attracted and began to squish into a 'donut' around the magnetic core. Urso manipulated the field, slowing the collection of particles and directing it precisely , adjusting the magnetic field accordingly. Within minutes, the magnetic core was powering itself, and began producing a surplus of energy minutes after that.

Urso backed to the generators door and stepped out, sealing it behind him, internally the generators collection coils were sparking with electricity in plasma, it was now generating more power that ten fusion reactors and the reaction was still growing.

Leftenant Graves watched the generators power readings with his technicians as the Engineer started the generator. The sations fuel cells were quickly filling.

"Colonel" Graves stated as he turned " The station is nearly at full power, we'll be able to power the entire station in minutes."

Colonel Seleucas turned to Graves and then the Ambassador " Start powering up all the systems and see how much of a draw we can put on this thing, it powered up awful fast, let's see if it can maintain it's output."

Graves nodded "Yes Sir, we're putting all systems on line now." he turned and nodded to his technicians. They began switching on the stations systems one at a time, restoring shields, atmospheric controls on all levels, lighting, orbital controls and computer systems, watching the power consumption carefully.

Ambassador-XD smiled again.

"The Resonance Generator will provide more than one hundred times the energy required to power the station as it is. It will be more than sufficent to power even the completed station."

As she spoke Urso of the Guild of Engineers entered from the generator chamber and nodded as he spoke in his buzzing voice.

"The reaction is complete...............the Resonance Generator will...........be at full power within the........hour."

He turned and looked over the Vaadian technicians shoulders, monitoring the stations systems.

The Station began powering up fully and smoothly, the full systems not draining the fuel cells that remained nearly fully charged from the Resonance Generator.

Graves shook his head as he watched the power readings "Just as you predicted Engineer Urso, absolutely amazing."

Colonel Seleucas smiled weekly at the Ambassador, a bit uncomfortable her very alien strangeness "Well, it appears as though you've delivered the first part. We can probably move on to the weapons test. Right Leftenant Graves?"

Graves nodded "The weapons are poering up now, I'll contact Fire Control and begin the testing sequence."

Engineer Urso nodded to Graves "As the station is still...........powering up, I ........would recommend testing your King Rus..........particle accelerator cannons first. This will give time for the Razer........to complete it's activation cycle."

The Engineer glanced at the power readings and made sure that the power transfer was proceeding safely to give the station a steady flow of uninterrrupted power.

Ambassador-XD smiled again. "Everything is progressing precisely as anticipated. I do not think that we could have envisioned any better outcome for this project."

Graves nodded and powered up one of the King Rus Particle Accelerator Cannon Batteries, at the same time Colonel Seleucas contacted Tollan Fire Control.

"Fire Control, this is Colonel Seleucas, Phyrric I. We are prepared to commence point defence tests, repeat, we are prepared to commence point defence tests." He awaited a response.

"Roger that, initiating countdown to launch. Standby Phrryic I." The voice buzzed back from Tollan.

Within minutes a hatch somewhere on the Tollan Massif opened and disgorged an Apollyon ICBM, this mach speed missle was easily capable of striking anywhere on earth and even in orbit, it was aimed AT Phyrric I.

On Phyrric I the display officer caught the missle as it headed toward the station "Gunner, this is display, incoming missle, bearing and coordinates are entered, target is painted."

The Gunner acted quickly and fired the King Rus, wghich discaharged it's ordinance with a flash, at the speed of light, it struck the missle within a mili-second and vaporized it as it left the atmosphere.

The Display officer smiled "Splash one incoming, repeat splash one incoming. The skies are clear.)

Colonel Seleucas nodded "Excellent, no problem there. Now we have to test the Razer?" he asked expectantly od Ambassador-XD.

Engineer Urso looked back over his shoulder at the Colonel.

"Yes...........the Razer is..........sufficently powered. Firing it...........will alert anyone that may monitoring.............This station that it is indeed............operational." he buzzed

Ambassador-XD nodded in agreement.

"Yes, the destruction to the target area and the discharge will make the station most noticeable. If the Razer is fully operational, then there will be little anyone can do about it."

Engineer Urso bobbed his head "It is fully operational."

Ambassador-XD smiled again "Then we may as well see what it can do, Colonel."

Colonel Seleucas contacted Tollan Fire Control again.

"This is Phyrric I. The Razer is fully charged and ready to fire, over."

Tollan replied "Roger that, target is in position and has been painted by Fire Control , lock and fire at will Phyrric I."

Colonel Seleucas turned and nodded to Graves "Fire at will."

Graves clicked open the line to the gunner "Gunner, targets painted fire at will."

Far below in the Vaadian Straits two old Tula Class Battleships had been joined as one and were bobbing silently in the gentle waves.

The tall 'tower' in the center of Phyrric I slowly lit up and the a light at the top of it flashed.

Simultaneously the Tula Battleships disappeared in a ball of light, three and one half miles wide. Even the water around them was instantly evaporated and turned to steam, the somic boom caused by that much water being vaporized instanly and could be heard well inland in the Tolteca Republic and the Republic of Phyrric. No sign of the Tula Battleships remained.

Colonel Selecas' jaw dropped as the real time images from the RASTER Satellites showed the massive beaten zone from the Razer, and the huge cloud that instanly formed from the vapourized water.

"Impressive indeed." was all he could manage.

Ambassador-XD nodded and smiled.

"Quite impressive. I should think, Colonel, that the addition of Navigator weaponry to your station makes it secure from foreign attack. It should allow you to repair and ebuild your station in relative peace and security."

As the Ambassador talked, the Engineer Urso , manipulated the controls on his 'Device' activating his beacon set.

The Ambassador continued "This is an important step between our nations. With this station as a stop over point the Commonwealth can engage in commerce in this system, to the betterment of both our nations.

I believe now that these tests are completed that I am to meet with your Minister Of Foreign Affairs to discuss trade and relations?"
