It's all in RP. Though I'm sure you know that. To buy weapons and the like go to a weapons storefront, but remember to keep it realistic. It's unwise to buy 5 million tanks if your nation only has 10 million people. And you would most likely not be able to afford it anyway.

For a summary of your budgets go to thirdgeek, I'm sure a more experienced player could give you a link.

Of course!

Find your nation and check your budget status. Then calculate what you can really spend.

You don't always have to go to a storefront for your military needs though. You can begin production on weapons of your own.

OOC: What I'd suggest is first answering the question what kind of country are you? Are you land-locked? If so, then you wouldn't be able to have a wet navy. Are you an island? Then a strong navy is absolutely essential.

If I had to do NS over again, I would strive for more balance in my military. As it stands now, there is an enormous disparity between my navy and my other branches, both in terms of money spent and resources allocated and sheer prestige of the service. The way I RP it, navy rejects serve in the army. While it has served me well in my combat RPs (especially the current war I'm in where I completely decimated an opponent who was grasping for straws to delay the inevitable), it will come back to bite me in a future RP unless I make a concerted effort to improve the army.

Don't focus on all-American equipment. A lot of U.S.-built stuff is a joke. Some stuff may be good (and I've even heard the odd defence of American ships from people in the know), but the biggest problem with RL systems is that they're horribly underpowered compared to NS stuff. What you can do is base your own designs on RL equipment. Some great websites to look at include Naval Technology (http://www.naval-technology.com), Army Technology (http://www.army-technology.com), and Air Force Technology (http://www.airforce-technology.com).

One suggestion I would make before you start throwing out your unique designs in combat is to create a R&D thread (I usually make mine secret IC or OOC) so you can get OOC feedback on your designs. If there are problems with the designs, some of the more knowledgeable RPers will more than likely give feedback that you can use or can point you to other resources. That's how I learned information I needed to improve tank designs. And, don't worry if the OOC feedback comes from your "enemies." I've gotten constructive feedback on ships from Huzen Hagen and on tanks from Doomingsland.

If you have any other questions, feel free to shoot me a TG. Just bear in mind that I'm more comfortable talking about naval matters than any other.

Wow. It's like everything you say is brilliant. You should write stickies. Eh, you probably have and I'm too lazy to check.

I agree with Sarzonia - I usually RP that my country is prducing most of what my nations military needs and then buy some more equipment from shop-fronts, which can be quite entertaining at time. For shop-fronts I reccomend Sarzonia's ones because they have a wide range of things, and Hogsweat has some cool ships
