Alano secures power, begins strengthening of the nation.
Almost a week after the unrest began, Alphin Fiquil Alano declared the nation secure after the KGB retook the last of the planet's regions, executing the rebels. In order to prevent future uprisings, Alano has ended the Burkavik amnesty to political criminals and resumed execution of all suspected democrats and republicans. Alano also announced today plans to close the nation's doors to immigration. "Mirfak must be kept pure of contamination by those of lesser quality," he said. "Under my leadership Mirfak will enter a new age of prosperity brought on by the elimination of its inferior components." Alano has yet to relinquish his post as director of the KGB, and is now expected to retain both his position as Alphin and in the enforcement agency. Support for the new leader remains below ten percent, but this is expected to rise as the benefits of the new policies become evident. Alano also hinted in the press conference this morning that trade with nations "unworthy of our business" would be halted. Alano will soon begin his crusade to make Mirfak the great land that it is meant to be.

Incoming Communiqué
We of the Committee would like to lend the Alphin a hand in stabilizing his nation. The Committee feels that Mirfak, being a vulnerable and nacent nation, could use a hand in balancing itself and that the Alphin could use some advice in the structuring of his government.

The Alphin has no need of foreign "help" in stabilizing the nation or in deciding his policy. Alphin Alano is prepared to use the full force of the KGB and military to deal with his opponents. Interference from the outside can only harm Mirfak. Our doors are closed to you and the rest of your kind. Oppose us, and you will perish as the rest of the filth that contaminates Mirfak's purity.

The black-haired woman sat back in her chair and read the reply again disinterestedly.
"Well," she said cooly, "we have ourselves a little tyrant. He even calls his secret police the KGB...I'll threaten his manliness more later."
