"Well, a lot of people outside of here probably don't understand. Where I come from if you say you are a lycan, you would have to transform in front of every single person in the country, burn yourself with silver, and then preform some insane stunt before anyone would consider spending a second thinking about your kind exists."
Todd said, his voice was completely serious. He was forming a lengthy paper that he was planning to release after he got home, it would suggest the existance and plasuablity of vampires. He knew it would probably fly like a two ton brick, but he would have to try. Todd then laughed.
"By the time my nation figures out the existance of any species besides human...my remains will be forever gone and you will be a few million years old. Daniel, it is obviously apparent lycans rule here...practically everywhere else humans rule...what is keeping the humans here from rising up and taking power?"
"We control the population.", Replied Daniel matter of factly. "If it looks like the humans are getting restless some get turned. But that only happened once." He then shrugged. "I prefer myself now in comparison to then. There are times I wish I was born Lycan."

OOC: Okay so I'm FINALLY back. The end of the year was intense, then I lost my account here on the boards and I just got it back.
IC: Flay smiled at Eszti. "The scene is everything. We have a pretty deverse society. Of course, along with normal religions the whole lycan population is devoted to the Lycan Church. Which is just odd." The young werewolf laughed softly.
"What's the Lycan Church like, it sounds interesting," Eszti asked, curiously. Many foreigners, on coming to Callisdrun, had commented that the ancient religion was strange, and she wanted to know what "odd" meant in relation to the Lycan Church.

Sigrun gave the woman a bow, before turning to her wares and studying them. Some held a slight presence of magic in them, but not as strong as items back home. He picked up one item, turning it about in his fingers.
"Beautiful. The care taken into forming this item...there's nothing like homemade artifacts."
He smiled to Nyx as he set the item down again.
Flay thought about Eszti's question. "Well, I don't find the church itself weird. Just the fact that we as Lycans become so tight-Knit. I'm a born human, I was turned into a lycan. Even here humans never get along, but the Lycans here are like one mind billions of bodies."
----------------------------
Nyx nodded to Sigrun. "Yes they are lovely. But merely sovenir trinkets. Nothing powerful is sold on the streets." She then turned to Xaria. "We have a driad situation."
"Talk to Parliment."
Nyx shook her head. "That will take too long. Just make it a priority."
Xaria shook her head back. "I can give special treatmet to the magical society."
Nyx nodded. "You'll fix it later though?"
"I swear you, I, and the Prime Minister will sit down together and talk about it. But right now I must care for my guest?"
Nyx smiled and thanked Xaria. Then Xaria turned to Sigrun, "What now?"

Todd was very suprised, if not nearly blown away by the tone that Daniel spoke in. He lost his footing and bumped into a large, muscular man. The other man growled and pushed Todd away, continuing the glare at him through black eyes before turning away. Todd caught up with Daniel, still suprised that he said 'we control the population'.
The pair continued on in silence for several minutes, Todd cleaned his glasses before speaking again.
"Is there any real difference between a human who is turned into a lycan and a person born a lycan? I mean, is there any real difference between yourself and someone who was born one?"

Sigrun bowed to Nyx in parting, once again complimenting her for her booth. He turned to Xaria and replied, "You're the host. You know what there is to see around here, and I do not. So, please, lead the way..."
He held his arm out as if to open a path beside them, gesturing for her to lead the way.

Flay thought about Eszti's question. "Well, I don't find the church itself weird. Just the fact that we as Lycans become so tight-Knit. I'm a born human, I was turned into a lycan. Even here humans never get along, but the Lycans here are like one mind billions of bodies."
"It must be wonderful to have such harmony within the Lycan population," Eszti said with a sigh. "I wish all of our Moroii could get along with each other half as well as you seem to be describing." She looked frustrated for just a splitsecond.
Daniel replied without thinking. "Turning is painful. Many go insane from the pain and things. The only real difference between a born lycan and turned lycan after that is that turned lycans can't marry the royal family. Like princesses, queens, princes, or kings. A turned lycan can marry a Duchess, but not the future queen. Even if he's knighted, totally commited to her, and they'd been engaged for a year" Daniel got immensely bitter at the last part. As if he suddenly realized he'd said to much, Daniel cleared his throat and asked, "Did that answer your question?"
------------------------------------
Xaria took Sigrun's arm. "Well, I'd prefer not to leave this street until we are all back together. Let's return to the cafe and wait on the others. Unless you'd like to do some shopping."
------------------------------
"Most cultures do. We don't understand it ourselves." Flay stated this cooly. "What now?"

Todd quietly noted what Daniel said, he also noticed his last few words carefully. He figured it had to do something with Xaria, but he decided not to press the issue with the lycan. He gave a brief nod.
"Yes, that answered my question."
The pair continued on for a little while longer in silence before Todd spoke up again.
"So, where off to next?"

Sigrun gave a nod of understanding, "You are the hostess, and I must follow."
As they walked he studied the culture that sprawled out around them. It was charming to see the smiling faces as they hoped for him to approach and perhaps buy their wares. Then again, they probably were only smiling because Xaria was there.
Daniel was pleased that Todd didn't seem to notice the implications of his last words.
"I think we should fine, Her Grace. We might as well get back together. It's almost lunch time at the castle."
------------------------------------------------------
As Xaria walked with Sigrun, a small girl with white hair and purple eyes came and began tugging on Sigrun's sleeve. Xaria watched the girl, who was no more then six, jumping up and down in her white, flowing dress trying to get Sigrun's attention. When the Sigrun finally looked at the girl, she created a perfect white lily and held it out. She smiled shyly. Xaria giggled gently and whispered in Sigrun's ear.
"Don't take that. She's trying to ask you to be her betrothed. And I don't think you want to make the little nymph cry, do you?"

Todd nodded, he still suspected there was something going on between Xaria and Daniel. As the pair walked through the streets, Todd took a look at several more bits of jewelery for his sister, but didn't get any. He spotted Xaria and Sigrun down the street. A young girl seemed to be trying to get the elf to take a flower from her. The human chuckled slightly as he and Daniel came up behind the pair.
"Everybody enjoying thier day?"

Sigrun gave a brief nod of understanding before kneeling down to the girl's eye level. He smiled warmly to her and spoke.
"A lovely flower, young one. However, I know your purposes behind gifting me with such a flower. Perhaps you could honor me more by taking this flower, and planting it in the ground. Let the flower grow on its own, and you shall soon have a garden of them. A lovely idea, no?"
Sigrun waited patiently for the little girl's reply. When Todd arrived, he ignored him for the moment, watching the little nymph's face.

"Most cultures do. We don't understand it ourselves." Flay stated this cooly. "What now?"
"I really have no idea," Eszti said. "Anything you'd like to show me?" She paused, and then suddenly a thought came to her. "What's the deal with the moon? A lot of significance seems to be given to a full moon in tales people tell about Lycans."
The young nymph made a face and stomped on Sigrun's foot. Then ran off. Xaria and Daniel laughed.
"Sorry about that Sigrun.",Answered Daniel with a chortle. "But that lily represents engagement as Xaria, i'm sure explained. Basically by asking her to make a garden of them, the young thing thinks you are calling her permisquous, or that you think she will be rejected often. However, she is young and easily offended. Just ignore it."
Xaria smiled at Todd. "The day is going well, and somewhat amusing. And yours?"
---------------
"Mostly, it's just about how mortals though the moon effected you strangely. That's about all it is. Oh, and sometimes it's harder to resist changing during the full moon." Flay looked at her watch. "Oh, let's go find the others. We have to go have lunch."

Todd smiled at Xaria and gave a nod. "It has been a very good day. Learned a lot about your country also. I am enjoying myself very much. I also got my sister a necklace."
I'm gonna have to be sucking up to her. He thought. On his flight over Todd had purchased an animal from a Tarlachian store. He walked over to Sigrun and took the elf a few feet from the rest. He spoke in a low tone.
"Sigrun, I am gonna have a rough few months ahead of me. I want to know what to feed a dragon, specfically a Tarlachian Ice Dragon. I know meat, but any specific kind of meat? Please...please don't tell Stephen I bought one. He will kill me."

"You're taking a dragon into the Golden Simatar? Are you serious?" Sigrun replied, his tone serious.
Todd's slight nod and serious look in his eyes confirmed his words.
Sigrun brought a hand up to his eyes, rubbing them slightly for a moment. Lowering them he looked to Todd, "Yes, meat of any kind will be all right to suit. Once the dragon is old enough, it will need to learn to hunt. I suggest teaching it to hunt only small game, and to keep away from domestic pets. I imagine you'll be keeping it's presence in the Golden Simatar a secret?"
Todd nodded again. Sigrun nodded in understanding, "Contact me directly if you need a hand controlling the dragon. I have experience with them, and have my own as well, whom I've raised since it was young."
He turned to Xaria, signaling that the conversation with Todd was over. He gave a warm smile, "I'm sure the little nypmh will be just fine. She'll forget about me soon enough."
"No doubt she will.", Replied Xaria with a smile. "Puppy love is so amusing. Well, I guess we'll just wait for Flay and Eszti to arrive, then we'll head back to the castle for lunch."

Eszti nodded at Flay's explanation. It made sense, that a relatively small thing would start fantastical, totally unbelievable tales. Such things were similar with her kind. Humans were very strange sometimes. "Lunch sounds like a fine idea to me," Eszti said. "Come to think of it, I am fairly hungry." Many moroii had very fast metabolisms. That included Eszti.

Todd bit his lip as he expected Sigrun to suddenly tear into him. He was glad when the elf didn't and instead offered advice. He also trusted Sigrun not to tell Stephen, he knew it would take the hand of God to stop Stephen from killing him. Todd relaxed and sat down on a bench. He would remember what the elf said. Still, that didn't stop the simple question of what his sister would think of the idea of a dragon entering thier house. Sam will kill me...skin me alive and feed my remains to the wolves. Todd thought grimly.
He looked at the necklace he got for her. At least this will earn me a few points...or a few more seconds of life.
OOC: Okay, does anyone mind if we skip ahead to the evening? I'd like to get to the carnival and all that stuff, plus I don't really have any plot plans for the rest of the day.

OOC: I don't mind.
OOC: Okay it's the evening.
IC: Xaria sat in the main parlor wearing old jeans, hiking boots, and a tank top. Flay was working at the bar and Daniel was checking security. The afternoon had passed quietly. Upon returning to the castle everyone had just gone their own seperate way. Dinner was sent to everyone's room, along with instructions to dress casually for the carnival. Xaria awaited her guests.

After Todd had finished dinner, he washed up and put on a pair of blue jeans, a green collared shirt, then his old brown leather jacket. He exited his room in high spirits. Though, his stomach gave a nervous flutter as he remembered about the dragon he purchased and how Stephen would react.
"Hello Todd."
The human jumped and grasped the railing on the stairs as he saw Stephen dressed in his usual black clothing coming down the stairs. "Hello Stephen."
The vampire arched an eyebrow. "Something the matter?"
"Matter? Oh..nothing...I just...forgot something in my room. Be down in a few minutes." Todd said in a hurried voice before rushing back upstairs.
Stephen stood there for several minutes, confused by the bizzare behavior of the human. It takes alll kinds. He headed down into the main parlor and smiled at Xaria. He sat down next to her.
"So, how was your day?"
Callisdrun

Eszti sat pondering her dilemma. For her, technically "casual" was the same as "formal," as in, nothing but her skin. However, she did not think that was quite what Xaria had in mind. The dress she had gotten that day was nice, but she felt it might be too nice to be considered casual.
Looking at the bulky robe as the other alternative, she supposed it would have to do anyway, as the extremely thin and more than a little revealing dress was much preferable to the robe, that while not made for the winters she was used to, was still too warm for her present circumstances.
She finally appeared in the parlor in the dress and a smile.
Xaria smiled at Stephen entered.
"My day was fair. There really isn't much to do during the day. But other then some horrible new that means I'll have to have a discussion with the nations war council, it was rather lovely. How did you rest?"
When Eszti entered Xaria gave a little wolf whistle. "Very nice! I'm betting you got that at one of our shops. It suits you much better then those robes. How does it feel?"
Callisdrun

"Almost as comfortable as my normal attire," Eszti said, quite cheerfully, as she tilted a hip and put a hand on it. For some reason, vampires, even moroii, had a reputation for not being cheerful, and she couldn't understand why.
The thin material really was quite comfortable, and did suit her shape quite well. The black contrasted well with her pale skin and matched her hair and eyes. Not like she would have gotten any other color though. Her many tattoos were in plain sight on her bare arms. It really was quite preferable to her robes.
She blushed slightly, though it was hard to tell when a moroii was blushing. The only indication was that her cheeks were suddenly a very light cream color instead of ghostly white. "Thank you for the compliment." Obviously, it had been quite a long time since Eszti was complemented on her clothes.

Sigrun's soft footsteps could only be heard by the sharpest of ears, but his voice announced his arrival otherwise.
"Even in death, you moroii hold beauty and grace in such a way that I can observe to match, even surpass the beauty of elven maidens."
He smiled as he stepped closer, himself dressed in a simple outfit of elven cloth, soft to the touch, and light to the wear. He turned to Xaria and smiled,
"Thank you for the meals sent to our rooms. It was quite delicious."
Xaria smiled brightly at Eszti. She really was a very sweet individual. She then smiled and nodded to Sigrun.
"I'm glad you enjoyed it, but hope that you aren't too full. I expect everyone who can to partake in all the candy and junk food at the fair. It's not a fair without junkfood."
Xaria smiled playfully. She then looked around.
"Is everyone here? Or are we a person or two short?'

"I slept rather well. Even in a country that doesn't believe in vampires, there is always a nervous sleep or two."
Stephen gave a brief nod to Estzi and Sigrun as they came in. Stephen wondered about Todd's rather odd behavior. He was rather curious to know if Sigrun had said anything that might of given the human the heebie jeebies. He would have to ask Sigrun later.
He looked over at Xaria. "I would love to try some candy, sadlyI can only have blood. Any other food...I will leave that part unsaid."
Stephen looked up at Todd appeared. The human smiled at Xaria, though displayed some degree of skittishness with Stephen. Stephen looked over at Sigrun.
"Sigrun, did you by any chance tell Todd something that made him a bit nervous?"

04-08-2005, 08:08
Sigrun gave Stephen a sideward glance with a look in his eye that gave away nothing. He replied in a similar telepathic tone,
Not at all. The guy's just skittish I guess. Seeing vampires, elves, lycans and the likes is bound to spook anyone from an ignorant country. My apologies for the harshness of the reality of the Golden Simitar. Your people are rather...oblivious.
He gave a glance to Todd, as if to sympathize the young man. He smiled slightly and gave a nod as Todd made eye contact with him.
"One of our candy makers tried to make blood suckers for our vampire guests. No pun intented. But they didn't work out so well, and I doubt they were actually edible." She smiled sweetly. "If everyone is here we can set out."

Stephen gave a slight nod to Sigrun's comment about Todd. It made some sense; with all of new faces and races, it wasn't suprising Todd might have gotten freaked out. He hoped and prayed this would not be the reaction times a million for the rest of the Golden Simatar. Though he suspected Todd was hiding something, he wasn't about to pry into the young man's mind to find out.
Stephen listened with interest to Xaria's explination of vampire candy. It sounded like a very interesting idea, yet not practical in execution. Still, it would prevent him from biting anyone.
"Well, the world isn't perfect. Yes, I think that is everyone."
"Okay then." Xaria led the group to a huge limo. "Everyone in."

Eszti grimaced at the thought of inedible blood candy. Quite unfortunate she thought.
She followed quietly behind the group and got into the limo, quite gracefully, especially considering how unused to normal clothes she was.
OOC: Geez, this thread is really dead.
IC: Once everyone was in the limo, Xaria signaled for the driver to head out.
