The Committee of the Grand Cyberutopian Exoatmopheric Fleet came to a decision today on the suggestion of its Research and Development board. Doctor Viktor Phladocof delivered the board's recommendation that a more powerful and efficient propulsion system be developed and fitted onto the Fleet's ships. A singularity matrix, though a lofty goal, was recommended as the best long term choice to replace the current ion injection drives. The singularity option was chosen by the board over a suggestion of a hot plasma drive, which would have taken less time to develop but become outdated far sooner. The proposed singularity matrix would be composed of a number of weakened singularities suspended like bubbles in an antimatter solution. The resulting gravimetric anomalies would be shunted by surrounding electromagnetic coils, creating a more powerful push against the surrounding space than a particle based drive. The development of a singularity matrix is schedule to begin 2119, and it is hoped implementation will begin 2139.

The ponderous cloud over who will overtake Cyberutopia's position of People's Representative – the rough equivalent of an executive position – has not lifed, as the quiet power grab continues. Many cynics are now suggesting the power struggle may climax in a potentially bloody coup, or even civil war. However, opponents to this position maintain that everyone has enough interest in gaining power that factions will not group together in the numbers needed for a civil war. The Committees of Cyberutopia have not implemented an organized election for the new People's Representative, and it is supposed each Committee is straying from this requirement in order to make a grab for power with the least competition possible. However, the masses of Cyberutopia have the unalterable right to start a People's Vote under their own power. Will the Committees recognize this power, or have their ranks become so corrupted it is time for a Purge of the System?
