Steel Butterfly

Hello again. It's me, your friendly neighborhood Steel Butterfly, coming at you live with yet another organizational thread, this time highlighting the very core of this game that we devote so much of our lives to: roleplaying.

If you've ever watched TV you've seen the TV Guide Channel. It's used as a listing to showcase what's on, and what those shows are about. NationStates should be no different.

If you're seeking a new place to RP, looking to read some good storytelling, or just want to earn recognition, post your RP here in the following format:

Title: (Name of the RP)
Author: (Who started the thread)
Other RPers: (Other active nations involved)
Type: (Closed or Open)
Genre: (Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Modern, Character-Oriented, War, etc.)

Trailer: (Discription of RP, commerical style)

In addition to this information, I will give the RP a rating of 1-5 stars after a secret group of judges reviews it. So here we go, I'll start it off.

Try to dig some up later, but just for now: Isn't the 'type' box kinda unnecessary because of the headings?

As long as it's current, as you've said, then it's good. Get Kaukolastan to submit it in my format and I'll put it up.

Trailer:
15 years ago a terrorist nation ruled by one Latito Iaceo, began covert war with the government of Tappee. For five year Latito was able to manipulate events from the shadows causing a brief civil war in Tappee. However, after the end the civil Latito moved out from the shadows by detonating a high yield nuclear bomb in Tappee’s then capital of Venustas, the fight had moved out from the shadows into the open. Tappee’s response was quick and deadly, it was not long until the country of Iaceo fell and it leaders captured.

One such leader was Dylan Phobo, a former Tappee solider who had taken up Iaceo causes against his former homeland. After the fall of Iaceo, Dylan was placed in a maximum-security prison. For ten long years Dylan sat alone in isolation driven to the brink of insanity.

Despite Iaceo’s defeat there was still a handful of loyalist that survived remaining in the shadows waiting for the time to be right, they were called Dedecus. Then after ten years an opportunity presented itself, when another shadowy group offered to provide Dedecus with all the tools that they needed to bring their revenge. With Tappee waging a costly war in the Orion sector, it proved to be the perfect opportunity to strike.

Freeing their soon to be leader Dylan Phobo, Dedecus launched a series of attack aimed not only at Tappee but other members of the Cave region. In one day they caused more devastation then the Region had seen in its entire existence. No one was spared; even the great Jade Allenson was critically injured in the attack. With the approach of the 4th Imperium Tappee has never been in such peril. Tappee now stands alone as the darkness threatens to over take them.

Author: Tarlachia
Other RPers: Assington, Golden Simatar, Gehenna Tartarus, Reformed Velmora, Five Civilized Nations, Drake Verdon, The Gothic Underworld
Type: Closed; Invite Only
Genre: Fantasy, Character Oriented
Rating: PG
Trailer:

The sun rises above the horizon, it's rays of light shining upon the lush green forests of Tarlachia. A bird flies into view, "tagging" the camera along with its flight as it swoops upward above the clouds. Once above the clouds, it dives down toward the earth once more. A line of travelers can be seen far below, emerging from the forests. To the east lies a city now basking in the early morning rays of the sun.

......Tarlachia... A nation of many wonders......

The same bird is now seen in flight in the city, dodging easily the various buildings and the figures that step from them. The camera turns sideways to the bird, allowing the audience to view the granduer of the palace through brief glimpses of alleyways. It's architecture is gothic, yet has some touches of modernism.

......A nation of pride......

Human government workers bearing the dragon emblem on their uniforms work diligently in their jobs.

The scene cuts out to view farmers tilling their fields, some by traditional tools, others with telekinesis.

The scene cuts out once more to an elven smith pounding with a hammer into a sword. The camera turns to encounter another elf stringing a bow with care.

......Yet, the time has come for an ancient power to rise from the mists......

Sigrun is seen walking with elves from the forest. His face is purposeful, as if he is about to undertake a great mission.

......Order is to be restored. Some will resist......

Brief flashes of small skirmishes is seen, mostly between vampires and elves.

......And some will embrace the changes......

Skadi, Zero, Stephen, Liam, Aeris are all seen moving about their daily business in the capital city of Tarlachia.

Sigrun is seen standing before Arleni and the current President of Tarlachia. The President holds a scroll that is opened carefully. He reads:

"Before the citizens of Tarlachia, we stand here today to pass the torch of leadership from old to new. May Tarlachia be handled with care, may its leader remain benevolent of his people, and may he stand with wisdom, courage, and honor. Today, in recognition of an ancient line of royalty, Tarlachia is now offered in peace, to the command of Sigrun Greenwood."

The President lowers the scroll and looks at Sigrun. He asks in a clear voice, which is carried to the masses by the wind.

"Do you accept your destined responsibility, Sigrun Greenwood?"

Sigrun replied in an equally clear voice.

"I accept."

A staff is handed to him, indicating the passage of power from one to the next. Sigrun accepts it and steps up to stand next to the President and turns to the masses. A loud cry of approval is heard as he does so.

......The Golden Age of Tarlachia has arrived......
