After careful consideration, the Buechorian military has stopped all plans to issue the Buechorian military any assault rifle.

"Semi-automatic rifles are the way to go, I believe." Stated one general at a press conference this week. The Buechorian Kriegarmee and Civilarmee (war army and civil army, similar to the National Guard) have both agreed to begin testing with a modified version of the M1941 Johnson Semi-Automatic Rifle. Many changes were made including the move from .30-06 caliber to 5.56mm ammunitition, and the modification of several parts to reduce the number small parts that made field stripping of the weapon challenging and time consuming.

Why exactly is the Buechorian military so interested in semi-automatic weapons? "The conservation of ammunition and accuracy. Many soldiers prefered using the M1941 [modded] to the current M63 Stoner assault rifle we were planning to introduce." said the same representative.

Despite overwhelming support, this proposition is not final and the concept is still in it's infant stages.

The M1941, or Halbautomatisches Gewehr 10 Ă„nderung 1 (more commonly referred to as the HG10A1 which means 'semiautomatic rifle 10 modification 1') as it will be designated in the Buechorian military:
