Today in the city of Moscow, five men were were found shot execution-style in an alley behind Saint Nicholas' Cathedral. All five men were identified members of the Moscow Volunteer Force, a division of the Protestant Militia known as the "Knights of Luther." They were lined up against the wall and shot once through the head with a nine millimeter round. The weapon was not yet found.

The Moscow Metropolitan Police Department has not yet found a motive, although many suspect this could be the workings of Catholic militia "The Crusaders," who are suspect to having ties with the illigitimate late emperor Andre Allistaire Liepzig's private army, the Pax Maria.

No other information has been released, and the MMPD has declined to release the identity of the victims.

Saint Nicholas' Cathedral

Three days later: Sunday, 2300

The Arch-Bishop of Moscow, Bishop Brandon Bates, was in the middle of mass, currently giving the Corpus Christi to the church-goers, when the doors to the chapel at the back of the room opened. No one noticed.

Two men dressed in all black entered. One turned to the other. "Now is the time." He nodded and called on the walkie-talkie.

"Move in." With that, they moved to the corners and waited thirty seconds.

Then the wooden doors blew off their hinges, exploding in a cloud of splinters.

Thirty men dressed in all black and with ski masks, armed with MP5A4 9mm Submachine Guns and Beretta 92FS sidearms stormed into the chapel. The church-goers ran and hid behind the pews, while the bishop stood defiantly at the altar, the crucifix directly behind him, with a giant crucifix behind them on the front wall.

"What brings you here?" The Arch-Bishop shouted to the gunmen. The men in black ignored him and cast him aside, breaking the crucifix in two. They lined the church-goers up against the wall and massacred them with their submachine guns. The appearent leader turned to the Arch-Bishop.

"This is for killing our brothers." Three of the Moscow Volunteer Force took down the giant crufifix and shattered the graven image, leaving only the cross. They took the bishop over to the cross and two MVF soldiers pulled out spikes and a hammer. The Bishop knew what was going to happen, but did not show any fear, but he sure as hell felt it.

The MVF soldiers drove the spikes through the Bishop's wrist and feet and nailed him to the cross. The squad leader of the MVF took out a crown of thorns and placed it on the Arch-Bishop's head, and they put the cross back up on the wall.

Ten other MVF soldiers came back with plastic explosives and gasoline, and soaked the entire church with gasoline, and placed the plastic explosives at the foundation of the cathedral.

They reassembled at the chapel, the bishop still hanging on the cross, alive, but in extreme pain. The leader turned to the group.

"Revenge has been complete. Our brothers' spirits shall finally rest."

"Praise God, His Wrath shall be felt by all." They nodded to each other and left to the vans outside the cathedral.

When they were about two miles away, they detonated the explosives, sending the five hundred year old cathedral up in flames and collapsing at its now nonexistant foundations.

OOC: Hmm even though after reading the posts twice, I can't seem to get who exactly are the "brothers" and enemies of MVF. I know it might be just me, but it'd be great if you can explain. :)

OOC: :) No problem.

The Moscow Volunteer Force is a division of the national protestant militia called the "Kinghts of Luther." The five men killed behind the church were members of the MVF, hence the Knights.

The killers of these men were killed my the Moscow division of "The Crusaders," which is the national Catholic militia. The men that stormed the church were MVF members, avenging the deaths of their comrades.

Is it clear now?

I am not Czar yet, I am but a Prince, but no, I would not mind. NO structural damage to the cities, though.

My apologies, Prince Andropov. We will be sending our Special Ops. forces, along with some of our Ranger forces. We'll also be sending several armor divisons and our choppers.

Honimishu Airfield...

Out on the airstrip, several APCs were being loaded onto a C-130 heavy transport for the trip out to Derscon. Along with this one, another was being loaded with the special forces. Several Black Hawk choppers were also being loaded up, and a couple AH-6 Little Birds were being fuelled. The Little Birds were under strict orders to avoid hitting buildings with their fire at all costs. An hour later, the task force was airborne, heading for Derscon.

Knights of Luther Headquarters

The original document of Martin Luther's 95 theses was in a preserved plexiglass case in the center of the massive fortress. Laser systems were set so if any unauthorized person entered, it would drop below into the vault for protection. Also, this protected the theses against a nuclear attack.

Count Martin Luther III -- this wasn't his real name, but all Grand Master's of the Knights of Luther took the Reformer's name -- was in the council room, along with the commanders of the different "Volenteer Forces" -- the Knight's private militia. The commandant of the Moscow Volenteer Force was at the other end of the table.

"Commandant," the Count began, addressing the MVF Commander. "While it is unfortunate that the seven members of our church were murdered, burning down a national symbol was not the smartest thing you have done."

"Sir," the MVF Commandant responded. "It was to send a message."

"I understand that, but you threw too much baggage on it! You have committed a capital crime, and even I cannot persuade the Princes to let you live. I have no choice but to turn you in, or this entire organization will be shut down." The MVF Commandant was clearly angry -- in fact, he made it so clear as to draw his sword on the Count. The seven Lutherian Guardsmen all turned their MP5s on the rouge Commandant.

"Put down your sword!" Luther III ordered.

"You will not betray me. Draw yours! We shall duel!" Luther shook his head and snapped his fingers. The Lutherian Guards shot at the MVF Commandant's wrists, rendering them useless, and then blew out his kneecaps.

"Take him to the athourities."

"Yessir."

Approaching Dersconi Airspace...

This is Pschycotic Pschycos Peacekeeping Force, transport Zulu-Six-Zero, requesting permission to enter your airspace. Be advised, all fire control systems are shut down at this time.

This was the radio transmition of the lead transport. In another hours, they would be setting up a base where ever they were permitted. If all went well. There were still the matters of clearance, inspections, endless meetings, etc...

Dersconi Control, Zulu-Six-Zero, we read you.
Setting down at Derscon Airport, over.

The big C-130s circled around and landed at the airport (we'll just skip the whole escort part, I've been through it dozens of times). On the ground, the hatches opened, and the armour rolled out and parked alonside the planes, the MH-60 Black Hawks and AH-6 Little Birds setting down next to them. The planes would be used as a camp for the troops, who were arranging themselves for the inevitable inspection that awaited them.

The four Honour Guards looked over the General as the SS Squadron did the routine inspections. The Captain came up to the General and saluted when he was finished.

"Sir, you're cleared. Your troops obviously have set up shop. The Kremlin wants to brief you, though, so I ask you to follow the Honour Guards to the Blackhawk."

Kremlin Palace

After going through the usual security proceedures, the General was escorted to the Ministry of State Security by the four Honour Guards. When the door opened, MSS Director Yuri Golovko looked up and motioned to a seat.

"Sir down, General." When he did so, Yuri began.

"Well, there's really not much to say. The two militias, Knights of Luther and The Crusaders, have been at each other's throats for quite awhile now, but no violence until the seven-man execution. We've been suspecting foreign resistance to our gun laws, but that didn't come -- and we still don't care." He smiled and took a sip of the water.

"Anyways, the folder you now have," Yuri said, motioning to the folder labeled TOP SECRET he handed the General. "It gives recon photos of majour outposts from both militias, and the headquarters of the Knights of Luther. The Crusaders keep their HQ locale very secret, for obvious reasons. We suspect, as it outlines in the briefing folder, that they are a front group for the Pax Maria, of which you are undoubtibly familiar. We don't have sufficient evidence, though, and Dersconi Law forbids us to randomly arrest someone for questioning." What Yuri didn't say, though, is that it still happens by the long-thought-dead Dersconi Inquisition.

"As Dersconi gun laws are very lax, you will be up against heavily armed men. Also, the militias have commando groups, all ex-SpecOps. Good luck with those. By the way, the military auctioned off some of it's old rocket launchers -- very old, mind you. Old Nazi Germany Panzerscheks. Ammo and everything. Both militias bought the majourity of them. Medium and heavy machine guns both are bound to have."

"At this point, both are in bad light officially by the Dersconi Government, but The Crusaders are the real targets here. The Knights of Luther have no known terrorist backing, but the Pax Maria are heavily thick in the Catholic militia, and we can't abolish the militia without arousing some suspicion. We don't want to alert the Pax Maria we're on to them."

"Anyways, operate with extreme caution, do not, repeat, do not underestimate these people." He looked at his paper on his desk.

"That's all from my end. You have any questions?"

"Thank you for the briefing. No, I haven't any questions about this situation anymore, you covered them," the general said. "I would, however, like to outline my plan. What we intend to do is to keep two Black Hawks, with Rangers on them, of course, in the air at all times. They will be flying over two halves of the city, and each will be up for about two hours. At the end of this period, they will be replaced by a fresh crew. At our base of operations, we intend to keep our Little Birds ready for flight, along with the remainder of our forces, Rangers, Specials, and our armored humvees.." He reached across and handed Golovko a folder.

"In there, you will find background information on all of our forces, along with technical specifications on our equipment," he said. "We intend to begin operations at 0000 Hours tonight, with your government's approval, of course." He sat in silence for a few minutes, but then remembered something.

"Do you have anyone close to the catholic militia, or any spies currently implanted in their ranks?" he asked, pausing. "Or anyone crazy enough to get in them, or locals in the area willing to rat them out?" he finished.

Yuri was an egotistical bastard, and he always liked to inform his guests that he knew everything they did -- the name of their dog, the time of day they poop, and how much of a threat they are to Derscon and Greater Prussia. And more, but what the hell.

"You may begin operations as planned. And unfortunately, we don't have anyone high up in the militia's ranks to serve any importance."
