On the news...............

We have exclusive news tonight. After our station was told that the Formula 1 car for FLP was to be unveiled sunday, mere hours before a test race, our reporters have snapped shots of it in a premature practice session.

And from the skill of driving being shown we can see why they were waiting until sunday. The drivers, 3 of the top 4 production car drivers in FLP, are clearly not ready for this challenge yet. They clearly can't muster the speed to take the championship.

However, with this being the premiere of a number of other teams the team may not come last. I guess only time will tell.

We'll offer another report prior to race on sunday, when the team 'unveils' the car everyone will have surely already seen. thanks to us, and our breaking news.

Ciramix F1 Car Launch

*Nervous Kazakhstanian Reporter Coughs*

Today, Ciramix F1 Launched its new F1 Car for the 1st ever season of NSF1. The team is the first to unveil it's new car, and did it today infront of many reporters, including myself, and hundreds of fans and celebrities. There are many critics of the car, and it has been acclaimed as a vehicle that "could win races". *Cough*. This could happen, but we will have to wait and see.

We are still waiting for some other teams to launch their cars, but we know that many will before the initial test this Sunday.

Here are some pictures of the car on it's first public outing.

The teams leading driver of the three, Paul Gilchrist from Kazakhstania, then put the car through it's paces on the slightly damp Bergring in Northern Kazakhstania. Here are the pictures:

My car has a white nose cone, red body and white spoiler] The team is confident that the two drivers will do well at the practice race in a few days time. 19-02-2005, 01:32
These are exciting times in the Commonwealth of Spirit Nation. It has evolved from a tiny liberal paradise to a growing, powerful, thriving nation, but still hanging on to its' roots of environmental protection, social equality, and freedom for all. Spirit Nation is beginning to make its' presence felt in the world for the first time in its' monthlong existance, as it has entered in World Cup 22 and also, NationStates Formula1, along with unveiling its' new flag, and new motto, "All we need is two tools: A Hammer, and a Bigger Hammer."

Catch the Spirit Racing, owned by business tycoon Nicholas Lopardo, and headed up technically by Slugger Labbe, and promoted by the Field Manager of Spirit Nation, Joe Gravellese, will feature two cars in this year's inaugural NSF1 season and will host a Grand Prix at its' famed Eugene B. Fraser Memorial Circuit, a hilly, urban circuit fitting the skill level of its' drivers, brought up in the rough and tumble street racing league, the Spirit Nation Auto Racing Series, which has operated for two seasons. The primary driver for Catch the Spirit is Jerry Nadeau, 34 years old and a resident of Spirit Nation, a three time winner in SNARS and a veteran of international road course racing, and he will be backed up in car #2 by veteran Boris Said, who has a wide range of expereince in many types of cars, including such bizzare career highlights as being the champion of the Spirit Nation School Bus Racing Circuit. This veteran duo heads up the group, while the current test driver, assistant technical director Jim Gravellese, 40, holds the seat while the team searches for a suitable young driver to step in and bring a youthful energy to the team.

The team now is preparing for the 20-Feb test race and considering how it will budget its' 10 million for the season. Expect this team to run up front.

The Liverpool England sports ministry has officially declared that the F1 circui in Orean would play host to a leg on the NationStates Formula 1 calendar. The track, to host the fourth Grand Prix of the season, was declared race-able yesterday by officials checking the status of the track.

The organisers of the race are optimistic that the stands will be sold out; the 75000 stands also have standing space for 200, with ticket prices ranging from L£15 to L£100. Reports, are however coming in that ticket prices have soared as high as L£400 on online auction sites.

Stevid Constitute Racing Stop the Clocks!
Test Session One at the Kazakh Oil Grun Ring

Today, the quiet wilderness of the hills of Western Kazakhstania was awoken by the sounds of Formula One Cars! All twelve teams tested at the Grun Ring, and it proved to be a very, very close contest, with differences between Drivers running down to thousandths of a second! Many drivers and teams looked at home on the Hilly course, whereas others looked much more at home elsewhere. In the end though, SC Racings massive engine power provided the thrust that gave them a time to be proud of, their driver James Fawn blitzing the track with a time of 1:28.175, a new lap record, beating the old time by almost two seconds.

http://www.rastus.force9.co.uk/Jordan00.JPG

1) 1:28.175 - James Fawn - SCF1 Racing
2) 1:28.525 - Liam Ridgwell - Aston F1
3) 1:28.560 - Steve Johnson - Moleland F1
4) 1:28.685 - James Gravellesse - CTS Racing
5) 1:28.855 - Harry Baffle - FLP Racing
6) 1:28.920 - Hugo King - SSS Racing
7) 1:28.950 - River Suzgar - F1 Vilita Racing
8) 1:29.000 - David Starr - FMJ Race Syndicate
9) 1:29.025 - Guilaume Dume - Oliverry Racing
10) 1:29.160 - Mohiedinne Kaddouri - Cerevix F1
11) 1:29.225 - Troy Wilkins - LivEng Racing
12) 1:29.375 - Milton Brennavich - TonCar F1 Racing

The amazing thing about the pace of these cars is that every one of them broke the original lap record, even the seemingly lowly Milton Brennavich. Indeed, even though the circuit was cold, the clouds looming overhead, the cars still managed amazing speeds, the highest being achieved by James Fawn at 191.52 MPH, an exceedingly high speed on this circuit. However, the SC F1 car seemed prone to break down, once involving a spectacular suspension failure which saw the car twist round and fly backwards into a safety barrier.

http://mulanee.gyb.free.fr/formula2002/magny_02/a1-fisichella_crash.jpg

Another spectacular off was from the Tonissian car, which suffered a rear wing failure after the long straight up the hill. The car lost total control, and hit the massive safety wall there at around 150 mph, although the driver escaped with only minor bruises. There were plenty of engine failures from all camps throughout the day, and various driver offs, one such from Troy Wilkins of LivEng racing, seeing him catch the dirt at the bottom of the course and have a trip into the safety barrier.

http://www.sport1.de/coremedia/pics/20/77/72/8x240x184x1,property=original.jpg

It was an interesting days testing however, and may show who this years main competitors are, though there were few true experts on these hilly courses present at the test. In the last hour of the test day, we had a never ending downpour of heavy rain, giving the teams some wet weather practice, and showing that James Gravellesse might just be the future lord of the rain, setting a stunning wet weather lap of 1:35.435.

http://www.f1-pics.com/sanmarino02/sm2002_021.jpg

This testing session is perhaps proof, however, that the differences between the teams are slow, and there is a reliability factor in races, so no team is in fact out of it! The F1 Championship owner, Tom Eccles, said that there is still much to look forward to, and no one should be downhearted! All that we can do is look forward to the first race!

There is another test session scheduled at the Orean Desert F1 Circuit this Wednesday.

Today, the roar of high-performance engines couldn't even quiet the roar of the crowd as Formula One racing returned to the NS world. The first race of season, although just a trial, was held at Kazakh Oil Grun Ring in Kazakhstania. It was an exciting race, well planned by each driver and crew to get the utmost in performance from each car. Although the weather held out for most of the day, in the last hour, the skies opened up, giving the drivers a taste of wet road conditions they can expect throughout the season.

The race was also marked for it's crashes and spectacular engine failures by some prominate teams in the NSF1 world.

But in the end, the old track record was shattered by SC Racings James Fawn, with a time of 1:28.175, nearly 2 seconds faster than the previous record.

The crowd went away happy, if not slightly deaf from the noise. Some major sponsers, watched with interest in the skyboxes, to see if there might be interst in this new sport in the NS world. One of those being, Lux Aorta, President of Eastern Aotra, who was quoted as saying, 'Next season, we must get into this.'

This was a great day, signalling the beginning of FLP's emergence into international Formula 1 racing.

The position of fifth is a little misleading as Baffle pushed eventual time setter Fawn of SCF1 Racing and under a second seperated their best lap times.

It's looking like an incredibly close season is due to begin and our fears for utter failure may have been misplaced. Time will tell, and we shall be here to bring you the news as it breaks.

SIN (Stevid International News)

Camera panns down and focuses on a beautiful news reader.

Hello i'm Michaela Croft from SIN studios in Stevid Capita.

Breaking News from the F1 circiut in Kazakhstania, Stevid F1 racing driver James Fawn for SC Racing has qualified in pole position for the up coming race.
It came as a welcome suprise to the team as it is the first pofessional F1 race ever taken part in by the team.
James Fawn first started in Rally cars and now looking at big money in Stevid F1 racing.

James Fawn's official time around the curcuit was a shattering 1:28.175 with car speeds reaching peaks at around 191MPH.

It was not all happiness though as one of the car's used had a dangerous and amazing suspension failure resulting in a crash long the tyre barriers. Injuries were light but the driver was rather shaken up.

An interview with the money side of the team board of directors said..
"It is to our lasting delight that the team has performed well above expectations and we couldn't have expected more from them. However... the suspention problem has greatly worried us and we do not want it to happen again. We have informed the driver to be a little less aggressive on the cornners, but just a little. We will also inform Kazakhstania F1 authorities that we will be re-aranging our buget to compansate for the suspention failure. Thank you"

Full times and results can be few on teletext, the internet and Stevid TeleVision Broadcasting (STVB) Interactive channels

more news..................

OOC: Kazakhstania, we our allowed to change our buget allocations or aren't we? Just asking.

Oh just asking, is my driver and team name on the first post? Or is it just me?

One last thing, may I offer my congratulations to ALL the racing teams involved, it was a well won and hard fought race and I am looking forward to the race itself.

There is another on Wednesday before the first race next weekend, but I can inform you......yes, this is a sneek peek....that you also did very well in the wednesday test (I've calculated it already).

IC:

Kazakhstanian F1 authorities have decided that due to the interests of safety we will fund the Stevid Racing team another £2,000,000, £1,000,000 EACH for Suspension Reliability and Aerodynamics Reliability. However, this £2,000,000 will be taken off your budget after the first race, so that it is fair. Also, this should give no speed advantage as reliability does not affect speed, meaning the first race should be fair. We assure all teams that this is in the interest of safety.

To prove this point, each other team will be funded £250,000 extra in the next budget reports, to make sure we all see this.

Thankyou.

Kaddouri Unhappy with Tenth Place

Mohiedinne Kaddouri today announced that he thought that the car is behind the other teams, and perhaps Cerevix F1 should be hoping for points finished rather than podium's and wins. Yesterday, the car, he said, was all round very average, and looked to be slower than the other cars. He had tried his best, he stated, which may be why he finished with a time that put him tenth, rather than last.

The car needs to improve, he said, and it needs to improve now.

http://home.hccnet.nl/leo.traas/test2005/redbull03_klien_reuters_450.jpg

What he did not say, however, was that one of the two off track exscursions he had were his fault, as he attempted to take the tricky Stadium section a little faster than he should have, seeing the car deserted in the middle of a gravel trap. The other was due to an ungripping tyre, perhaps something that NSF1's official tyre supplier, Black Thunder, needs to address.

Spirit Nation's Catch the Spirit Racing Team broke the ice on the start of the Nationstates Formula One Season in grand style, coming close to making it onto the podium in the Nationstates Formula 1 Test Run. The inexperienced but savvy James Gravellese piloted the Catch the Spirit F1 Test Team car with skill and precision, rattling off the 4th quickest lap of the day and coming up with an absolutely blistering lap in the rain to prove that both he and this NSF1 CTS team are one to be reckoned with in wet conditions. #1 driver Jerry Nadeau says: "The team did a great job in this practice session, I've been examining the data and I think we have a great car to run in these grand prix, look for us to contend to win some races." This hilly track suited Catch the Spirit well and is a good preview for the Spirit Nation Grand Prix, coming up in a few weeks. Next up for the team is another test session Wednesday night, before it all starts for real on Sunday, February 27th. Go team!

OOC:Good idea, but how would you rp F1? Nobody would want to crash and everyone would want to win. I'm in Pole so i hold an advantage, but then again, thousandths of a second seperated my team and others. I'd prefer a simulator or someone to work statistics to find out who would win. If we rp, it would brake down into a flame fest.

Or we get the results. For example Stevid comes 2nd and Moleland comes first or visa versa, then we rp it. Would that work?

OOC:

Well, to start with the races are at weekends, but then it mixes up, weekdays and weekends. I wanted to get it finished before April, and I am busy some RL weekends, but I didn't wan't to have a 2 week gap, so....

As for the races, I would ask of you a pit stop strategy form which would tell me when you were pitting, what your driver mentality was and so on. This way, you could have pit stop tactics, say 3 stops with the driver working the car to death, or one stop with the driver taking it easy.

I have a large MS Excel document which works out lap times, and I would do races via a series of graphs. I have just had an idea, however.

For overtaking battles, I would say the result of the battle and how many laps it took, but the two teams nations would RP out the overtaking battle. This way, there is a lot more involvement. As for everythign but the battles and pit stops, that is simulated, with RP bonuses.

These RP bonuses are things like your driver having a good wet weather skill (in this case SSS Racings Gravellesse), or your driver being especially adept at overtaking. These things will be shown over the season, rather than made up at the start.

Sound good?

Since last viewed, various extra stands have been added, a new 3 turn chicane added and the final parabolica altered. The circuit is deemed one of the premier circuits of the year, and should wield a good result.

Sound good?
Sounds great...that way I can write up my own views of this instead of just taking my info from you K....I'll have the newest story up the next day from the conclusion of the race...

Liam Ridgwell, Aston's Mercian test driver, posted the second-fastest time in testing at last weekend's runout in Kazakhstania. The team were said to be very happy with the car's performance, but are holding off the champagne till at least after the first race.

Liam Ridgewell Storms Liverpool England

The desert was today awoken by the sound of screaming NSF1 cars, as the NSF1 tour reaches its second stop, the deserts of Liverpool England, and the Orean Desert F1 Circuit, the high speed test circuit for todays timing. The times were very close as all the teams pushed their cars to and past the limit, showing soem very interesting results.

1:31.075 - Liam Ridgewell - Aston F1

1:31.545 - Guilaume Dube - Oliverry Racing
1:31.550 - Seve Molen - Mole F1
1:31.575 - Touri Ergeller - Oliverry Racing

1:31.865 - Berno Vanca - TonCar F1 Racing
1:31.870 - Nikolai Zack - SSS Racing
1:31.885 - Milton Brennavich - TonCar F1 Racing

1:32.620 - Ian Hunter - Cerevix F1

As you can see, many of the times were very close together, and every team tested their speed and reliability to the limit, with many breaking it. This circuit is high speed, and demonstrates just how fast these cars can be, with CTS Racing's Boris Said reaching a massive 203.43 MPH on the back straight. Also, on such a long circuit its a miracle the lap times were so low, the 12 corners testing the cars to the limit.

http://www.f1-pics.com/bahrain04/bahrain2004_148.jpg

There were various off track excursions, seven overall, most of them at the first and fifth corners, each under heavy breaking. Our personal favourite was Boris Said's engine explosion, creating a nice bonfire for all to see. Also suffering a mechanical breakdown was Jurgen Ramzi of Vilitan F1, who was on the receiving end of a Gearbox Failure after losing the ability to shift gears.

http://www.f1-pics.com/brazil04/brazil2004_114.jpg

Mole F1's Steve Johnson suffered a horrendous crash on the parabolica Turn 7, as part of his Front Wing broke off and forced the car off track at great speed, with the results photographed above. James Fawn, last Practice's fastest runner, was involved in the final off track trip, after losing control at the final corner on a piece of oil there. This driver seemed spin prone today, and it is believed that there might have been a traction control problem, but this cant be confirmed. As for when we return, you can see us this Saturday, for the first race of the year, and Fimble loving peoples Backstaffen Park!

Aston Out Front In Outback

THE deserts of Liverpool England played host to the second testing session of the season as Liam Ridgewell topped the test timings. Ridgewell was followed, not far behind, by Ari Morgan in third. Aston were officially "ecstatic" at the team's speed, and hoped they could carry this on to the season proper.

FLP post poor timings in Liverpool England

The two FLP drivers involved in the high speed desert test session came very low in the rankings. However, hopes have not been dashed as they knew going into the race that the high speeds were not their strong point.

The drivers were almost surprised that the cars reached the blistering speeds of almost 200MPH along the straight. High speed is not what we do best and hopefull we will show our winning abilities on some of the more technical tracks.

Sunday will play host to the opening grand prix of the season, at the recently renovated track at backstaffen park. The track was lengthened for this race and now runs through the city streets of Staffen, FLP's third largest city. The track has the capacity to whole well over 50,000 fans, and people from all nations are expected, from the Moles of Moleland to the desert loving peoples from certain regions of Liverpool England. Each will be wishing their team to succeed.

Cerevix F1

Kazakhstania's national racing team, Cerevix F1, has come outright last in todays test at the Orean Desert Circuit in Liverpool England. They know that High Speed isn't their speciality, but has proved that perhaps improvement can be made.

Starr has good time, but still way back

David Starr was only 9 hundredths of a second behind leader Liam Ridgewell, but those 9 hundredths of a second turned out to mean 15 places behind him, and even Alan Donnoz, who was racing in for Levi Buck for some reason, finished 2 sports further back. Suprisingly, the desert of Liverpool England proved to be a bad spot for Fmjphoenix, despite being used to high heat. Hopefully this second test run was more of a relax run so that when the real races start, they will not be back so far.

Board Says Average Performance

The board of directors for the Stevid F1 team said that the team played at an average rate around Liverpool England's track.

"Fifth is quite good. But quite good isn't good enough. Pole is the best, we achived it before and we can do it again. We expect to finish in first of course at the race itself, but top five is respecable. The team knows they can do better, but after bugget mishaps it is understandable that we have slipped.

Considering the bugget rearangements (OOC: I'll TG the authrities tomorrow) four is an excellent position. Racers in fifth can easily pull first or a place on the podium.

Fortier had been reading the sports section of the Imitoran papers, following the NSF1 closely. As of yet, there had been nothing to his suprise, having followed the serries from the start. Save on thing: he had yet to read of any major sponsors. He chuckled to himself quietly, looking over the current sales figures for his "tiny" shop in Northampton. Sure, NIAPS didn't pull in as much buisness as say, Imitora Auto Performance Group or Power Brake, but considering that a single car tuned by Northampton Import Automotive Performance Specialists cost more than a weeks worth of cutomer cars at the other two shops, its made up loss of numbers in quality, reputation, and return visits becasue of great customer service. Where else could your rental car destroy most other cars out there on the quarter and mile.

He waved off a phone call from up front, if the desk girl wanted to talk to him, she knew to come back to the office. Of course, having an open show floor made it difficult for her to make it back. He was more intrested in something else however. Sure, some of the cars that Fortier tuned could probably hang with some of these Formula 1 cars with the right driver and the right course and right conditions, but that was beyond the point. He grabbed a pen, and began writing. Hand writen letters seemed to always work better for him.
_

Mr. Eccles,

I have been watching with great intrest your Formula One Racing Serries. It has come to my attention that, while the regular sponsors of such events are present, there are no specialty sponsors. I would like to submit my garrage, Northampton Import Automotive Performance Specialists as a sponsor. My garrage specializes in the aftermarket modification of all vehicles, and has sponsored many racing serries in Imitora. Each booth would have myself and possibly one or two sales reps from NIAPS, plus one or two cars we have tuned for show. Further, I will gladly loan one of our 'garrage' cars for a pace car for the rest of the racing serries. I hope to hear from you soon for negotiation of a price. With respect,

Tom Eccles had a hectic schedule. He had so far that day made the final arrangements for the First Grand Prix of the year and dealed with the new circuit for Tomissia, which would take some rescheduling. He was surprised, however, when he walked into his office and saw not a heap of letters on his desk, but rather one, labelled "urgent". He sat down and opened it, before reading it, guiding his eyes with his pen.

He took it in and grabbed a piece of his "Special" letter paper, before taking his pen and writing the words:

Dear Mr Fortier,

It has come to our attention as well that we lack sponsors for the grand prix's this year, and have been waiting for such an offer to arrive. So far we have been sponsoring the Grand Prix's with small local businesses so far, but are in need of a Main Sponsor. We would permit you to have a Stall in the Paddock and at the Main Spectator Entrance, and would be rewarding of you if you gifted us a Pace Car, clad with your businesses name and tuned as you wish.

Your businesses name would also be placed on various banners around the track edges, all we would need for this will be £1,000,000 over the entire season, and £10,000 to each team.

Is this permittable?

NEW BEVERLY NEWS SERVICE- FEBRUARY 24TH 2005
Formula One Season Ready to Roll

The testing and the hype is over. It's time to race. After two test sessions, the Inaugural Season of NationStates Formula 1 is set to kick off this Saturday evening at the debut Grand Prix. Spirit Nation's "Catch the Spirit Racing Team" has had two successful testing sessions. In the first test session, Test Driver James Gravellese scored the 4th quickest lap and had the fastest time in the rain. Last night, the 2nd and final test session was held.

Spirit Nation's 2nd car driver, Boris Said, scored the 6th fastest time in the trial, and also turned heads by having earth-shattering speed in the straightaways. Spirit Nation proved their engines can compete with anyone on any circuit. However, the big surprise and big story of the day for Catch the Spirit Racing was test driver James Gravellese, who scored 2nd for the day. Gravellese is anything but humble- "I've told these teams for years that they need to forget these young guys and let me drive. I can beat a lot of the people out there racing today. Just because I'm older doesn't mean I can't drive. I want to race." However, rumors still persist around the garage area that with two thirtysomething drivers, Catch the Spirit racing is looking for a young buck test driver to replace the 41 year old Gravellese. Team financer Nick Lopardo denies the report, and says, "James is a valuable part of this team, and he may have a future in races if things don't turn out how we'd like for our two race cars. But I'm optimistic that we'll get some podiums this year and contend for the Constructer's Championship."

The team is now weighing what strategy decisions it will make for Saturday's debut Grand Prix. They have several tough decisions to make, including tire compound and also how many pit stop strategy they will be on. "We have some work to do," says Jerry Nadeau, the team's ace driver. "But we will have a fast car."

Spirit Nation hosts a Grand Prix in the 4th week of the season; tickets are available right here in New Beverly at Ticketmaster. Alternatively, you can get them at the track, Eugene B. Fraser Memorial Circuit, in New Lynn. For those hoping to catch two races this year, another Grand Prix is coming to the Confederation of the North- the MFL Grand Prix, in the People's Republic of MFL, will be held later on in the season. Tickets will soon be available here in Spirit Nation along with hotel and transportation packages to go cheer on Catch the Spirit racing.

Re: Extra safety cars needed

Dear Sir/Madam,
We, the organisers of the Orean Desert Grand Prix, would like to give advance notice that extra safety cars will be needed for the race. While each race normally has one safety car, which the circuit will provide, the high speeds of the circuit would almost definitely require a second, much faster, safety car to lead the field while the slower safety car rounds off the field.
We hope that this would be possible without any inconvenience, for any of which we apologise.

With the inaugral race of the Formula 1 season being held at FLP's most prestigous course, Backstaffen park, a rare flutter of optimism has spread across the land. Very few tickets are left on sale as the race day approaches for the comparatively small Backstaffen stadium complex. However, we have received word that should the race, and more importantly season, go well the stadium will be boosted to almost 100,000 capacity. FLP's business men know when they are onto a winner, and they believe this is one.

As the day approaches weathermen nationwide are proclaiming rain for the big day. Though this may be taken with a pinch of salt. It's rare they predict anything else, other than snow.

Berno Vanca on Pole in FLP!

The first Qualifying Session of the year took place today, and it was an incredibly entertaining affair, with each driver going faster than the last! The session was racked with Fimble Loving Peoples famous weather conditions. This track has, perhaps, never seen cars this fast before, with some crazy speeds being reached on the front straight, which is almost one kilometre long!

Berno Vanca Burns his Way to Pole

The Results:

1:18.355 - TonCar F1 Racing - Berno Vanca
1:18.435 - Oliverry Racing - Tourri Ergeller
1:18.450 - FMJ Racing - Alex Donnoz
1:18.490 - FMJ Racing - Levi Buck

1:18.515 - Oliverry Racing - Uri Yillberg
1:18.615 - TonCar F1 Racing - Roberto Gordana
1:18.740 - SSS Racing - Nikolai Zack
1:18.801 - Mole F1 - Robert Hover
1:18.875 - FLP Racing - Manuel Diverge
1:19.010 - LivEng Racing - Mike Daniels
1:19.095 - FLP Racing - Ryan Padley
1:19.120 - LivEng Racing - Oscar Phillips
1:19.170 - Cerevix F1 - Paul Gilchrist
1:19.360 - Cerevix F1 - Ian Hunter
1:20.445 - SC F1 - David Motherwell
1:20.515 - SC F1 - Peter Conroy
1:21.240 - Vilitan F - Gary Shultis Jr.
1:21.275 - CTS Racing - Boris Said
1:21.305 - Aston F1 - Michael Albinizi
1:21.360 - Vilitan F1 - Jurgen Ramzi
1:21.375 - CTS Racing - Jerry Nadeau
1:21.405 - Aston F1 - Ari Morgan
2:12.560 - SSS Racing - Francois Meyrat

As you can see, the results are fairly widespread, and this is probably to do with the rain that troubled the first teams out. In fact, Aston F1, CTS Racing, Vilitan F1 and SC F1 were all effected by a damp track, as a Light Rain fell from the skies as the car of Ari Morgan drove onto the circuit, clad with wet weather tyres. This rain seriously effected the times, creating a two second void between those effected, and those not. However, SC F1 and Vilitan F1 were slightly luckier, as the rain stopped falling as they left onto the circuit, with only standing water troubling their runs.

Gary Shultis Jr. Drives his Way Through the Rain

As the session brightened up, it was very close at the sharp end as well, with Pole Position going to Seve Mole, Levi Buck, Alex Donnoz, Tourri Ergeller and Berno Vanca consecutively! Fifth place onwards was very hotly contested as well, perhaps a surprise to the Fimblean fans that their man, Manuel Diverge, finished tenth! It was unlucky for SSS Racings Francois Meyrat, who pushed the car too hard into the grip-less Thackery's Bend (map at the bottom), spinning off and posting a low lap time as he returned to the pits that lap.

It was mostly a high-speed affair, however, with the top speed on the day reaching 219.21 mph on the Main Straight, posted by the unstoppable Alex Donnoz. It was unlucky for Roberto Gordana of TonCar F1, who finished his qualifying lap before his engine burst into flames! His team’s mechanics have been hard at work for the race tomorrow, and will confident that it would do the same in the race.

10th place shows surprise at track length.

After gaining tenth place on the grid for tomorrows race driver Diverge was heard to be blaming the track. He claims he has been driving this track for years and has never once gone into the city before. He "slowed down a bit" because he thought he was "lost". The driver is correct in that the city section has never been there before during any production car championships, but is an addition for the Formula 1 season.

Despite this fans are not disappointed with the postions going into the race day. They had expected both drivers to be further back on the grid.

Once more the drivers were baffled by the exteme speeds the cars were reaching, regularly topping 200Mph.

"We aren't terrible, i'm not saying that at all. But we are slipping since our last two qualifiers. The team is a top of the table to the middle table team. Bottom is a no go zone.
The drivers have been told to improve of their racing and the pitts have been told to work faster or we will be looking for replacements.
It isn't a terrible result, but it will be a difficult season.
The team knows that if they have a brilliant performance at Sunderland, they'll be declared national heros or something like that. So morale is high. This is just a minor slip up and gretter thing to come.

Dannoz and Buckpole 3rd and fourth respectivly for the main event tommorow

With Alex Dannoz reaching a course high speed of 219.21 Dannoz finished four thousandths of a second ahead of racing partner Levi Buck as both racers placed in the top 5 for the 65 lap race tommorow with Dannoz getting third and Buck taking 4th.

Both racers felt confident with the track and feel that they will perform very well, Dannoz especially jubilant after having the highest recorded speed.

"I was pumped up. All I want to do is get that fast tommorow" Dannoz said after the qualifying.

The stadium here at Backstaffen park is already filling up as the nation, along with many others around the world, prepare for the Formula 1 seasons opening race to begin.

Hopes are high that FLP's drivers will place well. The city streets incorporated into the modified track are familiar to the racers, who use them frequently to get to work. However, they're not used to howling through those self same streets at speeds in excess of 150mph.

Alex Donnoz Wins at Backstaffen Park

After a very eventful race, Alex Donnoz of FMJ Racing crossed the finish line first, followed by Tourri Ergeller and Levi Buck, which placed two FMJ Drivers on the podium, first and third. The team was ecstatic. Also warranting a mention is Boris Said of CTS Racing. He started down the field bu was the fastest driver on the track, burning his way through the field and looked set for a podium, had it not been for an unfortunate Electronics Failure.

Fastest Lap - Boris Said - 1:17.924

Fastest Pit Stop - Peter Conroy - 7.87 Seconds

Fastest Recorded Speed - Mike Daniels - 223.25 MPH

Alex Donnoz of the FMJ Race Syndicate led from the very beginning. Starting from thrid place, he made a brilliant start and leapfrogged to 1st position, and it all went from there. he continued to pull away from Tourri Ergeller, and after his first pit stop of 3, was still in first. Ergeller further aided his escape by holding up Levi Buck, who got past and made it a FMJ one two until near the end.

Tourri Ergeller - Master of the Rain

On the 40th lap, rain began to fall from the sky, a penetrating drizzle which made the track go from damp to wet in the space of six laps. During these six laps, Ergeller in third place made a pit stop and switched to Intermediate tyres, as did Donnoz on the 47th lap. Levi Buck changed to wets however, believing the track would soon become too wet for inters. How wrong he was. He was almost a second a lap slower than Ergeller, who closed in and overtook on the 58th lap, seven laps before the finish.

However, Donnoz was not the fastest man on the track. Boris Said and Jerry Nadeau of CTS Racing were both inredibly quick, and Boris Said broke the one minute eigtheen barrier with a high one seventeen. He posted the fastest lap of the race, a 1:17.924 just past halfway. He started in 19th and had made his way up to fourth and was closing in on Levi Buck when his electronics gave up. He was still awarded "Driver of the Race".

Boris Said Advances Through the Field

Team of the Day was certainly FMJ Syndicate Racing, and the Unluckiest Man of the Day was Michael Albinizi. He was one of three drivers involved in the first lap crash at "The Pin", where Manuel Diverge attempted to overtake Robert Hover, but took the wrong line and hit a Barrier in the Urban part of the circuit. He bounced back and hit Oscar Phillips, who spin 180 degrees before collecting an unlucky Michael Albinizi. Albinizi could do nothing, as he was wedged between the approaching car and Jurgen Ramzi.

The safety car was called out for several laps as the wreckage was cleared up, a spiffing new BMW provided by our new sponsors, NIAPS Garages. After this, the race continued in its usual manner. One notable other occasion was the crash of David Motherwell of SC F1. He had already incurred a time penalty for skipping the start, and was last but rapidly catching Francois Meyrat. At Thackery's Bend, however, under heavy braking he lost control on the slippery surface, much as Meyrat did in qualifying. Unlucky!

FMJ Racing Syndicate dominates Fimble Loving Peoples track in first race

Alex Dannoz crossed first, then Levi Buck not to far behind, as the Fmjphoenix duo of racers dominated the first race at FLP with Dannoz taking home 1st and Buck finishing in 3rd.

It was an amazing display from Dannoz, as he took the lead very early and never relinqueshed. Were it not for a mistaken gamble by Buck, it could have easily been 1-2 with Fmjphoenix taking home the top two spots. Buck had decided on changing to wets instead of intermediate tires, and when the rain let up, was slowed down by it.

It was a historic day for Fmjphoenix race fans, as their team made the most out of the race. New sponsers have stepped up for the two racers for the brilliant performence, and more of the same is expected from the two best drivers in Fmjphoenix.

Success for race. Failure for drivers.

There were mixed feelings among the board of directors after the result at Backstaffen park earlier today.

The board, all 12 members in the FLP top 100 rich list, were pleased that they had produced a race worthy of opening the Formula 1 season. They would like to congratulate FMJ Racing and driver Alex Donnos on their success at the circuit.

However the mood is not entirely so lifht. First choice driver Ryan Padley could only muster a 9th place finish, well outside of the points. And #2 driver Manuel Diverge was the culprit behind a first lap crash which knocked 3 cars, himself included, out of the race.

Diverge has since spoken to the press and apologised to Albinizi and Phillips for his judgement error.

The drivers are reportedly looking ahead to the next stage in Kazakhstania and will be chasing a points finish.

Pinned Down

MICHAEL Albinizi's torrent of expletives said it all. Only the Aston technicians prevented him from marching into the FLP garages and lamping Manuel Diverge after the luckless driver was eliminated from the race less than a minute after the start.

Both Astons made good starts, Albinizi making up six places and pretty much dragging Threewide lead man Jurgen Ramzi up with him. Ari Morgan managed four positions on the opening couple of corners as the racers approached The Pin. Diverge made a suicidal attempt to overtake Mole Racing's Robert Hover, got it completely wrong, and clattered the barrier. He then proceeded to collect Oscar Phillips, and the two came to a virtual stop....about ten feet in front of Albinizi and the chasing Ramzi. Ramzi had enough time and room to brake and swerve around the carnage. Albinizi was not so lucky, ploughing into and over the stricken cars before coming to rest upside-down. Albinizi extricated himself from the car. He saw the red and white Nomex overalls of Diverge ahead of him, and after narrowly missing the FLP driver by flinging his helmet, proceeded to chase Diverge through the infield, until being stopped by his own team in the pitlane.

Meanwhile, Ari Morgan was making a desperate attempt to get out of the midfield, narrowly failing with an eleventh place finish - but he was, at least, ahead of Ramzi. Next week's Kazakh GP should be a good chance for the Astons to get points though after their excellent performances there in testing.

"I'm deeply sorry for what happened. There are so many people I need to apologise to.

I'm sorry to the two drivers, to Tom Eccles, the fans at the race, and my team. I have let everyone down. I admit I was a little too eager to impress the fans in my adoptive country.

This shouldn't happen again. If for no other reason then the bosses have said, if I remember correctly, 'Bloody hell, ya dozy pillock, do that again and we're not giving you another car'. They're good guys, and I know they're behind me."

And on that upbeat note the statement ended.

Disappointment in first race of F1 Season--

Catch the Spirit Racing entered the inaugural season of Nationstates Formula 1 with great expectations for its' performance, and performed well at the testing sessions. But the results of the first grand prix were nothing but a great disappointment for the team.

They did have their highlights. Jerry Nadeau finished in the points, scoring 7th place, despite a struggle of a race that saw him have to scratch and claw to be able to hold on to a points-paying position. Boris Said's highlight was that had the fastest lap of the race. However, electronics failure just past halfway put Boris out of the race and ended his chances of giving CTS racing two points-paying finishes.

"I don't really know what happened," says chief engineer Slugger Labbe. "We thought we were okay on electronics. It's really mind-boggling. We'll get them next week."

Driver Jerry Nadeau says, "Yeah, it's disappointing. We've gone over some of our strategies a bit to see how we can maybe improve on this next week, but it's really confusing as to what happened. I'm at least happy to come out of here with 7th. I just can't wait til the next one."

That's the attitude that permeates throughout the team- not one of pessimism, but one of optimism that the team will grow from this.

Hover After his Trip to the Barrier

Robert Hover of Mole F1 was one of the first people out, after Alex Donnoz and Levi Buck, and was fighting desperately to beat Alex Donnoz's time. As the entered the stadium section he got oversteer, lost the rear end of his car before spining round once and planting his left wheel in the barrier. He was, actually, heading for a fairly good time, but perhaps took that certain corner too agressively.

Ramzi Mows the Grass, F1 Style

Another feat worth mentioning was the 'all out' style of driving shown by Vilitan F1's Jurgen Ramzi. He took no prisoners on his lap, and frightened the barriers several times by doing so. Another moment was when Alex Donnoz, last races winner, somehow lost it on his in-lap and spun across the grass, but doing no harm to the car. As the rules state, if you have to change any part of the car before the race, you get a penalty, so he was lucky he didn't damage the car.

Kazakhstania--It was a very difficult qualification session for both. Uri Yillberg was the first of the two to go qualify. His time was good, but this circuit is very slow so it didn't fit with his driving style. So he did 1:28.605. Tourri Ergeller was the last but one to pass, following a spectacular race at the first race of the season, but he surpassed a very little bit his teammate, finishing 0.006 seconds ahead of him. We also saw that there was a very little gap between the first and the last driver(hey man, this is not NASCAR :p j/k): only 1.325 seconds. so, this should be very spectacular for tomorrow!

And those were the reults of the Kazakhstanian Oil Grand Prix at the Grun Ring, in Northern Kazakhstania. The race, it has to be said, was not as exciting as the first race of the year at Fimble Loving Peoples, but was interesting all the same. The most memorable happening in the race was the fantastic charge through the field of Robert Hover, from last to 1st. On several laps he overtook two people on one lap, and staked his claim on the hairpin on top of the hill. He is, by far, the driver of the day.

The race also saw eight retirements, including first lap casualties David Motherwell and Seve Mole. The two cars collided after Mole made a great start, before collected Motherwell at around 180 mph, in the braking zone for the hairpin. Both cars flew off, Motherwell hitting the barrier at high speed. Mole is believed to be medically ok, but Motherwell is being treated at a local hospital for possible broken ribs.

Points missed again. Pessimism well placed.

Although both drivers for FLP can be pleased they completed the circuit without damaging their cars gravely, they once more missed out on the points. This time it was not just a single place which seperated Padley from points but 3, only managing 11th. And #2 Diverge faired even less well.

As it stands neither drivers nor team have any points but they remain hopeful going into the third race.

However fans are predicting either last place or for the engines to mysteriously explode. Some people are just never satisfied.

-----------------------Ramzi rounded up a decent day for himself for fighting into 6th place, with an offloaders knowledge of the course, Ramzi frequently cut through the gravel and dirt in places he knew he could gain an inch by doing so, and otherwise kept the car on course to give Vilitans hope that their once great racing franchise will soon return to the podium.

Crew goes back to the drawing board

-----------------The 3wide.com Vilita F1 team has gone back to the drawing board, working from the ground up to figure out what has gone wrong for #14 Gary Shultis Jr. in the opening two races of the season. Shultis Jr. has finished both events, but has failed to pickup a single point in what can only be contributed to inferior equipment. Meanwhile, teammate Jurgen Ramzi, the experienced Football/Soccer player has found some success, flying around the course in Kazakhstania and coming home in 6th place, in the points for the first time this season. Ramzi, however, was equally unimpressed with his equipment, telling the team manager that if he hadn't run every lap perfect, including cutting every corner shorter than anyone else could dream of doing, there was not a chance in hell of finishing in the points.

The Vilita F1 Crew investigate the problems facing their equipment

-----------------The team has stripped both vehicles, and is in the process of replacing all minute parts from the ground up, and recalibrating all system to ensure that success will be the result in the next grand prix. Shultis Jr. has asked his team to give him a vehicle that will sit him on the pole, as has in the past been his speciality, starting up front and building up an early lead, and easily backing into a podium finish by days end. The team manager also dispelled rumors that River Suzgar would be replacing Shultis Jr. in the drivers seat, indicating that River still had a lot to learn before stepping up to full time in the drivers seat, and had he been in the car instead of Shultis Jr. the first two races, it likely would have finished in the gravel trap.

Dannoz and Buck finish in 7th and 8th in second race, keep FMJ Racing up top

Moving up 6 and 7 places in the race from where they started, Alex Dannoz and Levi Buck ran the race without any major incidents. They brought more points for FMJ Racing, keeping them as one of the top groups in the races so far. Next race is in Moleland, and we will bring more information from the Grand Prix in the Moleland Hills next week!

has anyone compiled a point ranks or how it wokrs? I dont know how it works, but I would like to see how everyone is stacked up to everyone else

Uh, have you got an email adress? I could send you the Excel Document.

I don't actually have a ratings system, but drivers have experience points and you get RP bonuses for things I notice, and I will generally give "good luck" to people that RP.

As for how you are stacked up, it's all in the points table and how you spent your budget. It's a balancing act, and those that get the fine balance win most races.

The idea mostly is, however, that you never know how you really stack up, not thios early in the season, just like in real F1. Like now, we can't tell who's where after the first race.

Well, even I don't know where your antion stands, its a myriad of things.

For example, Freedom Loving Peoples looks like he's doing badly, but come the slow speed tracks, his teama nd driver expertise will kick in and he will be winning races.

As for now, it depends on the track, the weather and what you spent your budget on. Thats it.

Well I was thinking in like a point system. Like how many points does someone have for winning first, second third, so forth and such. Like how many points overall does each driver have, show has the most, things like that. Does that make any sense?

OOC:

Ummm....

Well, drivers have experience points. This gets put up if you do well in a arace, so if you come first, you would get 0.12 seconds off per lap, cos u were 24th for last, divide it by two and hey presto.

If you came 10th Last, which would be 14th, it would be 0.1/2 which is 0.05 seconds off per lap.

Also, i will reveal the driver experience points at the end of the year, where you would bid for drivers for next year, if you wish to compete.

SPIRIT NATION F1 UPDATE

NEW BEVERLY NEWS SERVICE- NEW BEVERLY, SPIRIT NATION
MARCH 9TH 2005

The Kazakhstania Grand Prix has come and gone, and it was an up and down weekend for Catch the Spirit racing, but in the end, the weekend concluded with a very sour note.

Qualifying was an unabated success, as Boris Said and Jerry Nadeau placed CTS Racing's cars on the 2nd and 3rd positions. However, massive failures in the electronics system for Boris Said and a wreck for Jerry Nadeau put the two drivers out just past the midway point of the event.

"We really are stunned," said team technical director Slugger Labbe. "We definitely need to get back to the shop and put in some more preparations for this week. We'll come up with something. We've got the speed, but now we just have to put together a new package."

Team director Nick Lopardo said that the team just invested 5 million more dollars in the development of technologies for car performance and reliability. "We are not here to lose," he said. "I think with a few more tweaks, we'll be ready to get on some podiums. We might not be a championship contender this season , but by next season, I think we will be."

Team test driver James Gravellese is quoted as saying, "I would not have crashed."

Another race comes up this Saturday for the team, wherein they hope to have their most successful event.

In just a few weeks, F1 comes to Spirit Nation, as the Eugene B. Fraser Memorial Circuit in New Lynn will host the Spirit Nation Grand Prix. Tickets are going fast, reserve them quickly at the racetrack or by calling their ticket office.

LivEng Racing's new LER Honda R05-02, set to debut in Orean

LivEng Racing have unveiled their new car, which is set to make its debut in the home race at the Desert Grand Prix in Orean. The R05-02, which sees gearbox and suspension improvements from the original R05-01 which has picked up three points over two rounds so far through Michael Daniels, half-brother of tennis and football stars Danny and Dave.

Daniels told reporters after the unveiling of the new car that he was "(certainly) excited, and can't wait to finally drive it in testing!" Testing with the new R05-02 takes place over the next two weeks at the LEC Waterway Circuit, which is a Heartland F1 racing track.

The Grid Lines Up for the Orean Desert Grand Prix

The grid for the latest NSF1 grand prix has been filled, and the race is ready to get underway in about 10 minutes. "Hello Grand Prix Fans and welcome to the Liverpool England Grand Prix. I am Mark Flynne and I will be walking and talking on the grid today. First I wan't a word with Robert Hover, to see how he is feeling before the grand prix?"

"Yes..um...I am slightly nervous, this being my first pole position, but I have full confidence in my car and my team, that we can win this race."

"Ok, good luck, I'll see you at the end! Ok, now I wan't to talk to Jerry Nadeau, who is quite far up the grid and considers himself in contentionf or this race...Jerry, what is your aim for todays race?"

"A podium position, I think, out flashy new car should put us in good stead."

"Well! I have utmost confidence in the R05-02, and I'm looking for a podium here today!"

"You'll have your work cut out from 10th position!"

"Yes, but I'm sure we can do it."

"Good luck to you. Now, onto the final man I wan't to speak to is one Ryan Padley, who is amid replacement allegations at the FLP Racing team. Ryan! Why do you think your car has been running so slowly?"

"Well, the team still isn't use to the high speed conditions, so it will be a challenge to get up to speed! I hope the team keeps me until the next race, the EBF Memorial Circuit. It's a slow speed urban circuit, where I'm sure our team will be very competitive!"

"Ok, good luck! Ok, that must conclude my grid walk, the mechanics and everyone else have been kicked off the grid, and I pass you back to Peter!"

Driver of the Day: Robert Hover

Team of the Day: LivEng Racing

Robert Hover was the main man today. He had a truly fantastic race, his crown jewel being the fantastic overtaking move he made on Ari Morgan near the end of the race. Truly brilliant! Also worthy of a mention was Mike Daniels, who had a very good race in front of his home fans at the wheel of the new LivEng Racing Car, which seems to have made a serious speed difference. Adding to the excitement was the crash on lap 12, which was a good introduction to the race!

http://www.f1-pics.com/australia05/australia2005_041.jpg
Mike Daniels was Fast

At the start, Morgan overtook Hover very soundly after a brilliant start. Further down the field, positions were swapped, with Daniels taking two places. After this, Hover and Morgan took off into the distance, leaving everyone else behind. little did we know that that battle would rage until the end of the race. A truly fantastic race.

Morgan Does Well

As for the twelfth lap crash, it was a fairly pointless incident. Into the first corner, Motherwell got a run on Ramzi, and attempted to go down the inside. Perhaps wishing to impress in front of his ambitious team, he lunged down the inside, only to catch Ramzi as he turned into the corner. Both drivers sustained enough damage to be forced out the race, a shame on Ramzi after qualifying so well.

As for he retirements, of which there were five, and none were particularly serious, although there was a cockpit fire for a brief 2 seconds with Boris Said as his electronics went up in flames. Ramzi infuriated after incident

------------------Former Vilitan Footballing Legend Jurgen Ramzi was left infuriated after his Orean Grand Prix run came to a crashing halt on just the 12th lap after an incident with SC F1's David Motherwell.

------------------"We had an amazing car this week, all the work really paid off. The guys sat back in the shop in Vilita and just worked and worked and worked on the cars. We came here and qualified decent, but really were out to prove we could race these things. Then we have complete idiots out there who don't know how to drive a damn car crashing into things. Its absolutely ridiculous. Theres just some guys who don't belong behind the wheel of a racecar, and I don't think you have to look to far to know who I.... " Ramzi felt a brush on his shoulder. It was David Motherwell sprinting by.

------------------"Hey! Come back here asshole. What's the matter with you? Do you know that this is a race not a freaking qualifying session!"

------------------Ramzi knocked over the TV camera and began sprinting after Motherwell. The well trained Ramzi, still in peak physical condition from his years on the Vilita National Football/Soccer Team, easily made up the ground on the whimsical Motherwell.

------------------"Get back here asshole." Ramzi landed a fist to the back of Motherwell's head. "There maybe that will knock some freaking sense into you. Are you freaking kidding me? What the hell are you doing going into turns like that cutting around on the 12th freaking lap of the race??" Ramzi again landed a fist to Motherwell, this time square in the chest, and Motherwell let out a slight gasp for air. "Yea, try and breathe why don't you. Once you're done trying to figure out how to breathe, you out to try and figure out how to drive a racecar. I would have had a damn podium finish if it weren't for you. Freaking Motherwell. Get a clue"

------------------Ramzi walked away, then within a few steps, was quickly escorted by series officials to the big white trailer, and has yet to emerge from the area.

Vilitan Gym Offers to Cover Ramzi Fine

----------------------A Gym in Crosaibi, Vilita, where Jurgen Ramzi trained for much of his time at Vilitan Football/Soccer club Marine Coast United, has stepped up and offered to cover the cost of Ramzi's 30,000 fine for attacking fellow F1 driver David Motherwell after an incident in the recent Grand Prix in Liverpool England. In what is likely a publicity stunt designed to gain attention for the Crosaibi Gym, the 30,000 has already been forwarded to the NSF1 officiating team, and the Gym owner has stated that he had a further 30,000 ready to support Ramzi "Doing what is only fair" to any driver that takes him out for the rest of the season. It is unknown whether Ramzi has supported the actions of the Gym, or even whether he is currently aware of them.

----------------------Meanwhile, 3wide.com Vilita F1 officials have refused to criticize their driver for his actions, stating that all drivers can get riled up in the heat of the moment, and they believed that the instituted fine would be enough punishment for the 36 year old driver.

Motherwell Distressed After Incident

David Motherwell, who was attacked by Ramzi after the the Incident in Liverpool England, is reported to have to have been extremly distressed and shocked by the behaviour of fellow F1 racer Ramzi. He had this to say...

"I am as you can tell shocked over the whole ideal. I am also thankful to my comrades and fellow F1 officials who broke up the brawl. Also to Ramzi. This might sound strange but during the brawl he said some thing like "that will knock something into your head", i take his advice when i look at my driving on the moniter and my corner tackling was a bit careless. Orean marshals and Race Organisers fine Ramzi, Motherwell

Orean's Desert Grand Prix marshals have gone over footage from the race, and have fined David Motherwell L£5,000 (US$8,700) for causing the accident with Jurgen Ramzi.

Head Marshal Tony Cassy told the press that "such incidents, while in certain occasions cannot be avoided, are potentially deadly, and cannot be gotten away with. We'll be pressing the NSF1 authorities to five Motherwell a further 10-slot penalty for the next race."

Jurgen Ramzi, though, hasn't gotten away with anything yet - the race organisers have fined Ramzi a further L£1,000 (US$1,740) for disrupting the peace, and Orean police are said to be investigating the matter. If charged, Ramzi faces penalties including, but not limited to, a fine of up to L£10,000, a suspension from driving and a 3-week jail term for road rage.

Ramzi fined L£150,000 by Orean officials, given 24-hour jail sentence

Jurgen Ramzi was fined a whopping L£150,000 (US$261k) by the Orean High Court yesterday and forced to spend the night in jail for road rage against fellow NSF1 racer David Motherwell.

Supreme Judge Ralph Tanci ruled that "such cases of road rage, where someone is badly hurt, must be avoided where possible. Mr. Ramzi showed no signs of remorse after the incident, which further went against him. The jury has found him guilty of road rage, and Mr. Ramzi will have to pay L£100,000 in fines, L£40,000 in court fees and L£10,000 in compensation to Mr. Motherwell. Additionally, he can only be released from jail in 24 hours."

Mr. Ramzi's lawyer, Taggy Gerrert, told the press that his client was "pleased to have escaped stiff penalties," although the NSF1 authorities have been advised by Orean police to suspend Ramzi for two races.

Thw driver has really stepped up his game since it was revealed, by us, that his job was in danger if he failed to perform. Unfortunately he declined to comment. The real test shall come this sunday however.

Buck looks forward to street circuit, Dannoz ready after gear failure

Levi Buck feels prepared for the street race curcuit, as that is his favorite race type. You can see him cruising down the streets of Phonecia in his heavily modified 1999 Dodge Viper GT-R. He loves speeding through the streets over 100 mph, but he has never been in any accident as he is one of the top drivers in Fmjphoenix. He thinks he should be able to place well and hopes for a good race.

On the other side of the team, Alex Dannoz was heavily upset after his gearbox failed on him on the 41st lap of the previous race. He was in a good position for most of the race, but the failure cost him another possible top 5 finish. With FMJ Racing the second highest scoring team, both racers feel prepared to jump back up to the top spot.

"Last race was a fluke when the car malfunctioned. We already have it back up to norm and I am ready to continue my top finishes." Dannoz said after the free test drive.

Ramzi on Pole

The street circuit in Spirit Nation, called the EBF Memorial Circuit, was awoken today by NSF1 cars on their next stop round the NS World. This was the first time the championship had visited a slow circuit, and proved a stunning qualifying session, with the usual pole subjects a bit off the pace! We had a couple of surprise results aswell, with Jurgen Ramzi ending up on pole!

Ryan Padley....Get's a Good Result!

Also worthy of a mention was Ryan Padley, who in a shock result gained speed on this slow circuit and proved that FLP are competitive here. Robert Hover, championship leader, is in second place tommorow, and the consistently fast Boris Said came in fourth. Gary Shultis Jr. also looked strong, but crashed on the latter part of his lap, therefore posting no result. Levi Buck, indeed, crashed on his lap, smashing the wall on the exit of the first corner at around 130 mph. He looked dazed, but perfectly fine for tommorows race.

Mixed reactions to qualifying results.

As hoped, Ryan Padley gained a good position going into tomorrows race, reaching fourth on the grid. He has been told he is in for a bonus if he can keep that form going.

However Diverge, the second driver, has finally gone past the limit. He has been warned that unless he gets into the points tomorrow Baffle will be driving in next weeks Grand Prix.

Fans are as pessimistic as ever, referring to Diverge as 'the frog' and fully expecting him to finish last. And their predictions for Padley are no better, implying he will finish near the back, or possibly "Hit a wall or something daft".

Dannoz poles ninth while Buck has freak crash

After getting his car fixed up, Alex Dannoz placed ninth for the race tommorow. He felt his reactions were a little slow at first because he did not get to practice as much until his car was ready. But despite the position, he plans on doing well tommorow.

Despite a freak crash out of the first turn, Levi Buck is still optomistic about placing high in the event tommorow. He loves these types of races and he just underestimated the turn he said. Tommorow, when the real thing is on the line, he will be at his best.

Ramzi Strikes Back

-------------------Controversial Vilitan superstar Jurgen Ramzi struck back at his advesaries by posting the best time in Saturdays qualifying session, and giving 3wide.com Vilita F1 their first pole position in the brief history of the NSF1. Ramzi, who was only cleared to race 3 days ago, with the possibility of a suspension looming over his head after an incident at the Orean Desert Liverpool England GP, has been fast, as well as his teammate Gary Shultis Jr, since rolling off the truck. Ramzi's experience though kept him on course and up front, while the youthful Shultis Jr. over committed on his lap and ended up on an off road excursion, ending what looked to be a top 5 run.

-------------------Shultis Jr. is still confident about his chances of finishing in the points during the race, but realizes he will have to run a flawless race to stay out of trouble the whole time. Ramzi, on the other hand, will certainly be the favorite to bring home the points, and kick start 3wide.com's run for the constructors and Driver's chapionships come seasons end.

Ramzi First Past the Post

The race around the streets of Soirit Nation took place today, all 24 NSF1 cars competing in an urban battle royale. There could only be one winner, and that was Jurgen Ramzi, securing his and Vilitan F1's first win of the season. It wasn't a very eventful race after the first 10 laps, minus several moments of excitement. The results are in the table down below.

Jerry Nadeau - CTS Racing - 1st Lap Crash
Ari Morgan - Aston F1 - 1st Lap Crash
Boris Said - CTS Racing - 1st Lap Crash
Levi Buck - FMJ Racing - 3rd Lap Crash
Peter Conroy - SC F1 - 12th Lap - Rear Suspension
Alex Donnoz - FMJ Racing - 17th Lap Crash
Manuel Diverge - FLP Racing - 48th Lap - Electronics Burnout
Berno Vanca - TonCar Racing - 61st Lap Crash

As you can see, there are a fair amount of retirements, most of them crashes. Indeed, this is a low car-wear circuit, and there usually are a lot of crashes. The eigth corner of the first lap claimed three cars alone, as the jostled for position. Morgan got sandwiched going into the hairpin, got pushed left into Said who hit the inside barrier, filpped Morgan back into Nadeau, retiring all three drivers, and both CTS Racing drivers at once. Unlucky.

Nadeau was NOT Happy

Levi Buck was also retired on the third lap, after looking so promising. He attacked Oscar Phillips into turn eight, locked his brakes and slid into the barrier. The highest speed crash belonged to Berno Vanca, as he attacked the parade square section, caught a kerb and hit a barrier backwards, setting fire to the engine and various other car pieces. He was, however, unhurt. Also crashing out was Berno Vanca, as he attacked four laps from the end and hit the tires after catching too much grass.

Padley Was Very Agressive

Team of the day, you ask? FLP Racing! Under intense pressure from management, Ryan Padley and the team put in an impressive display to get their first podium position. Manuel Diverge looked strong for a top 5 finish, had his electronics not cut him off mid stride. Driver of the Day? Gary Shultis Jr. raced fromt he back of the field, pulling off several impressive overtaking maneuver's and racing in between pit stops to leap frog position after position. Could it have been a Vilitan F1 one-two had he not have crashed?

Praise piled on drivers by team. Fans claim it as fluke.

Ryan Padley has returned to training for the next race under a hero's welcome. Not only did he get FLP's first points, but he did it in style with a podium finish. We revealed that he had been promised something should he perform well, but as of yet we do not have confirmation as to what this is.

Diverge also had a good race, looking toward a top 5 finish before the electronics quit under the punishment which had driven him up the field. He has been assured that they will be uto scrath for the next race and if he puts in the same level of effort his place is safe.

Both racers for tje Sjwitz Racing Team performed moderate as they both set a very poor qualifying time and performed alike in ther race itself finishing 11th and 12th after starting from 18th and 19th place. On the other hand, many many racers dropped out during the race so the mechanics seem to be in place and working properly.

Knowing that these are just the very first racing experiences for the SSS Racing team however, all in all the spirit is above average.

NPS Sports News.

Another great Result for Moleland!!!

Robert Hover had another great drive, getting a valuable second place finish today. Early in the race, he somehow avoided several accidents, and although finishing some distance behind the winner, still gets more crucial points that keep him top of the drivers table.

Steve Mole had a unlucky day. Early on he picked up a puncture from some debris on the track, and this cost him any chance of grabbing some points today. He finished in 9th today, and he is still to score any points. His position is certainly at risk!

Could the Moles win the first season? Bookies think so! With the Moles already taking a 12 point lead, it looks like it could be a good year for Mole F1 racing.

Daniels continues good run
Tied for 4th in Driver's Championship

Mike Daniels continued his impressive run of form by finishing in the points again, this time in sixth, earning the team 3 precious points. LivEng Racing, who have 12 points, all earned by Daniels, are fifth in the Team Championship.

Team-mate Oscar Phillips has not picked up a single point so far, and the team are understandably frustrated. Team Principal Gareth Dussis was seemingly seething under his breath when talking to the press.

"Phillips needs to buck up quite a bit, I've got our test driver waiting to replace him. This is a public warning to him - I'm giving him one more race, tops. The next race, he'll race a custom R05-02, the R05-02-B, which has been passed by NSF1 authorities."

Phillips finished this race in 16th, and has told the press of the immense pressure he's been receiving from reserve driver Troy Wilkins, 26. Phillip's customised car will include an extra button on the steering wheel for better traction when needed.

Buck and Dannoz both crash early en route to FMJ Racing worst output

In what looked like a promising run for the FMJ Racing Team, turned into disaster just as quick. Levi Buck was looking promising in the beginning, as he was taking over places quickly, but in the 3rd lap he overagressivly attacked Oscar Phillips of LivEng Racing, and slammed into the barracade with his brakes locked up. Alex Dannoz also had a nasty crash, as his brakes went out on turn five, not allowing him to continue on.

With both racers retired so early on, it was a bad day for Fmjphoenix in the F1 racing world. Now Dannoz and Buck are ranked 4th and 6th respectivly, and FMJ Racing has fallen to third overall. Both of them are eagerly awating for the trip to Woodlands F1 Racing Circuit in Sjwitz so they can get back on top.

The only major incident was the crash of Oscar Phillips, who smashed into a tyre wall at 170 mph on the fastest corner of the track. Ouch! His crash closed the circuit for 15 minutes while the wreckage was cleared up, which was strewn over 200 metres long the race track. Average poles again, Buck and Dannoz nearly 1 second slow then lead

Dannoz finished in the 14th spot while Buck ran into 18th, the worst poles for the FMJ Racing this whole series. They have been falling lately, as last race both Buck and Dannoz failed to finish with early crashes. Momentum has left the FMJ Racing and they are needing the regain if they want to continue being a top finisher.

On another note, Spraat Industrial is the newest sponser for FMJ Racing, and are also in collaberation with Rouge EMU, the best electronics producers in Fmjphoenix, to finish completion of their track, which is planned to be done in two weeks time.

Pictures will be shown before completion and if the hosts are willing, perhaps hold a minor race with the best racer of each nation if not adding it in on the end.

The home circuit didn't prove to be any help for the SSS Racing drivers as they didn't manage to qualify with fast times again.

Both Vilitan F1 racers will be starting on the front row after setting stunning times impossible for the other drivers to keep up with. Francois Meyrat, starying on row 8th, was almost a full second slower than polesitter Jurgen Ramzi. Nikolai Zack will start on row 10.

The Sjwitz crowd would have loved to see the Sjwitz drivers perform better but the excitement was still present as it was the first time ever the F1 circus was present at the Woodlands F1 Circuit. The Pitbabe competition might have helped also ofcourse, below is the winner, in Nikolai's Car. She gets to stand next to the winner on the podium after the race. Ryan Padley put in a second stunning qualigying run to set himself up in 7th place for the Grand Prix tomorrow in Sjwitz. Finishing withing half a second of 2nd place driver Shultis Jr. It is hoped he will climb another couple places in tomorrows race and push FLP Racing further up the constructors championship standings.

On a darker note, after a poor qualify6ing lap, it is reported that Diverge shall be replaced after the mid-season break should he fail to gain a points finish in Sjwitz. Baffle is most likely to replace him, and hopefully he can improve.

3wide.com Vilita Set Pace in Sjwitz

-----------------------3wide.com Vilita F1 put their foot down and showed their NSF1 competition that the opening round of the competition was just a fluke. That's right, when both Vilitan drivers failed to finish in the points, followed by a pair of solo rides each from Ramzi and Shultis Jr, 3wide.com Vilita F1 sat down, tore down and built back up and know what it takes to put out a winning ride. Ramzi collected his second consecutive pole position after taking fastest time in the Soirot Nation as well. As was the case in Soiroit Nation, 3wide.com Vilita were the class of the field, although this time, over zealous Shultis Jr. managed to hang on to his ride and clinch his spot alongside Ramzi on the starting grid.

# 1:12.7800 - Jurgen Ramzi - Vilitan F1
# 1:13.0325 - Gary Shultis Jr. - Vilitan F1
# 1:13.2325 - Robert Hover - Mole F1

-----------------------Ramzi's time was almost a half a second better than early-season favorite Robert Hover, who still looks a good bet for the drivers championship. But with a one-two opening start, few can count 3wide.com Vilitan F1 out of the running for the constructors or even the end of season Driver's championships. It is believed that Shultis Jr. will back off at the start and allow Ramzi to open up on the starting lap, but he will have his work cut out for him with Hover lurking close behind. Ramzi will be looking to make history by winning back to back Grand Prix's, and his skill and experience may just lead the way, with Vilitan officials begging Shultis Jr. to stay on course and play it safe and ease into a podium finish that would be very beneficial to their Championship campaign.

Conroy Impressed while Motherwell Dwells over past and possible future events

OOC:Sorry i haven't posted, i've been in Germany for four and a bit days.

IC:

Peter is said to have said in a press meeting that he was very impressed with the car's performance during the qualifing session, fourth is a good place and expected to do rather well in the test. The SCF1 said that it is not quite a top of the table team but a mid table team. They say that if these result persist they'll be very impresed with the teams accoplishments this season.

Mean while, David Motherwell has accepted the fine he has recived and is regreting as any driver would that the whole ordeal had never happened. With all of these on his mind, he is finding it very difficult to keep his performances up for the team. He said he will not resign but will treasure the day that all of the past will be forgotten.

He has also thanked the whole team for their support and the other F1 teams that had offered support towards him and Jurgen Ramzi.

Mr Wilkins Survey's the Wreckage

Another "racing incident" was the clash of Conroy and Padley. Coming into the final hairpin, their front wheels touched, and Conroy was instantly retired. Padley went another lap, bfore his suspension gave up the ghost. Third position was hotly contested between the two, and it looked jus tlike another accidental incident. As for Ramzi, his gearbox gave up in style, shreddign the inside of the car, and spouting flames from the rear.

Overall though, it was an exciting race. The lead was hotly contested, with Shultis having to gain it towards the end. Mike Daniels got another podium, and Manuel Diverge got another much-needed point for FLP Racing. Gilchrist was near the top again, as was Morgan, who won a race earlier this year. He drove a good race from start to finish, but was unable to hold off Shultis towards the end, when fighting for grip in the wrong tyres. Perhaps if he had chosen wet weather tyres, we would have ahd a different winner. Anyway, well done to all, we will see you in just over two weeks time, at the Moleland Grand Prix!

Diverge saves skin. Padley bad luck.

Diverge saved himself when it looked most grim by hitting a top 8 finish and securing a point for the team. This has saved his job, as he was warned before the race that failure to earn a points finish would mean the end of his season. He responded by flying up the grid.

Team favourite Padley was looking for a second inspiring result, on the podium, before a wheel collision with Conroy forced them both off. The car is reported to be servicable, and after a degree of repairwork, will feature in the next race.

Wilkins, formerly the test driver for the team, was thrown into the deep end for the Sjwitz Grand Prix starting from the back (he had not set a qualifying time - Phillips participated in qualifying) due to certain "injuries sustained by (Phillips)", according to team principal, and Football Association of Liverpool England president Gareth Dussis.

However, that looks not to be the case, as at the post-race conference after the Sjwitz Grand Prix, third-place finisher Mike Daniels, current #1 driver for the team, admitted that he was told he'd "have a new [racing] partner for the season."

"Gareth [Dussis] came up to me yesterday (after qualifying, where Phillips suffered a 170mph crash) and told me that I was gonna have a new partner for the season. I immediately assumed that the injuries sustained by Oscar [Phillips] were bad, but Gareth shrugged them off by pointing out Oscar's bad form," Daniels added.

Dussis, when approached, refused to comment on Wilkins' crash during the race, nor Phillips' angry outburst towards the press, but did confirm that Wilkins would replace Phillips "for an indfeinite period of time, which could end in Moleland or last the entire season."

Daniels now has 18 points in the Driver's Championships, and is the only driver of the three to have scored points this season.

Who's Going to Win the Championship?

That's a very good question! This post is Kazakhstania's Bookie Guide to NSF1, and will show just who has a chance in this years championship.
Let's start, alphabetically from top to bottom.

Aston F1

Current leaders in the constructors and close behind in the drivers championships, Aston F1 have always been close competitors. Having several podiums and a race win under their belts, their main man Ari Morgan looks to be set for a championship challenge. Consistent performers, I would put my money on Aston F1.

Ciramix F1

Kazkahstania's own team, Ciramix F1 haven't been doing very well lately. One on the three tailenders and having a misfiring 2nd driver, Ian Hunter, the team needs to improve if it is to threaten for podium positions. Watch this space is all we can say, as the team has been improving lately.

CTS Racing

CTS Racing has been the silent speeder this season. We have seen nothing in the way of interest in NSF1 from the team, and the drivers seem to be very quiet. They have been constantly on the pace, but haven't got the reliability to have results. We could see them improve, however.

FLP Racing

The teams pessimistic attitude has put them in good stead so far. With both drivers supllying, if limited, a number of points, the team is still one of the three tailenders but is improving. This team could be one for the future. The Cirmaix-FLP battle is one to watch for the rest of the season. Could FLP make it out of the last three positions?

FMJ Racing

Another constructors competitor, the team has put in some good results and should return to speed with the return of the high speed circuits. Donnoz is off the pace a bit in the drivers standings, but if both drivers continue to put in results the team should be in a good place for the constructors win.

LivEng Racing

Mike Daniels has been fast, we can say that. Near the top in the drivers championship, the team is also doing well in constructors, which shows they have a fast car. However, Oscar Phillips has not been pulling his weighht in the team. Only in he scores points, can the team have a chance of winning something.

Mole F1

Strong is the word for this team. Steve Mole has proved to not be pulling his weight, however, as Robert Hover is driving the car to ever higher places. Could he win the championship? You never know, the car is fast, and the high speed circuits are back.

Oliverry Racing

This team looks solid on the higher speed circuits, but is one of the slowest in the field at the slowest circuits. We will have to see how they do once the speed gets up again, as it looks like this team could challenge for points finishes.

SC F1

A middle of the table team, SC F1 looked promising earlier in the season but has slipped slightly. However, they should continue to grind out results, and who knows, they could achieve goals higher than expected. You never know!
Both drivers are pulling their weight, and the team looks very stable. Champions of the future, we say!

SSS Racing

Could SSS Racing improve? Being their first racing experience, each race is a lesson for the team, which has been good on the high speed circuits. Could they score more points and challenge those higher up the table? We will have to wait and see, there are still five races to go!

TonCar Racing

Another quiet team with little in the way of excitement, they have grinded out results and finished int he points several times. It is possible that they could be challenging for a top 5 spot by the end of the year, we will see.

Vilitan F1

Both drivers have had wins, but other than that, they ahven;t been all that strong. They dominated the slower circuits, and could have had 1-2's, had it not been for dodgy reliability or accidents. They look good for the constructors championship, so it looks liek we have another title challenger!

After the homeground race for the SSS Racing team, the gap between them and the other teams in the Constructors Championship enlarged after 8 different teams scored points with SSS Racing not being one of them. Meyrat and Zack finished 9th and 14th respectively which rendered them a grand total of zero points. The team management has worked the numbers and results need to follow soon knowing that the team needs sponsors to make it through the next season.

While the managers worry about the money and the results, the drivers are having personal things to think about. Francois Meyrat flew home to Sjwitz to meet his mom who had just undergone an operation to remove a braintumor. Doctors say the operation went perfectly, ofcourse Francois was relieved. Meanwhile he also got to see his twin sister again after 7 years as she also flew in from here overseas job to visit her mom. Nikolai Zack suddenly pulled over during a test drive yesterday, jumped out of the car and over a wall, "borrowed" a motorcycle and took a shortcut straight to the hospital. During his lap he had received that his wife had gone into labor, two weeks before it was supposed to happen. Little Baldrick has been declared healthy and Nikolai is delighted to have a boy. Mother Gina is fine too after a fast 3 hour labor.

Francois has just recently heard about the news of the newborn and has already bought a present:

Terrible. That was how Robert hover summed up his performance in the last race, having failing to finish. Steve Mole also failed to finish.

Will he start the next race? Yes it appears. Buthe is living on borrowed time. He needs points from the next race or he is out of there.

Vanguard International Raceway almost complete while drivers ready for second half of circuit

Spraat Industries and FMJ Racing's Vanguard International Raceway is only about a week from being finished and added into the end of the circuit. It is a mostly speed track with only a few hairpin turns.

While the raceway is being finished, Levi Buck and Alex Dannoz are working hard, while the team has made a few adjustments to the cars they drive. Buck and Dannoz have been playing simulation races of the remaining courses to practice and get a feel for them, while they also read up a bit more on their opponents. The cars themselves have recieved a few tune-ups, including new CPUs and a newly developed displacement that are supposed to kick up the topspeed a little and increace acceleration a little as well. They will be tested before the start of the next race to see if they will be a help or not.

FMJ Racing has been a little quiet since the first race when they dominated the course, taking 1st and 3rd. Look for the return of high speed courses to help their chances in gaining more points and possibly retaking the lead in either catagory.

The Vanguard International Raceway has been finally finished and is awaiting its grand opening in the circuit. Here is how it looks.

http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y63/fmjphoenix/VIR.jpg

As you can see, it is primarily about those fast cars and fast drivers. It is the standard in Fmjphoenix for speed, so it should be an excitingly fast racetrack. The length of the track measures out to 1.46 miles long, so it is a decent size for fun. All that is left is the action.

Those were the times, on the ultra quick, hilly Molelandian Circuit. The times came in one after the other, Morgan setting the quickest time halfway through. As quick as they were, other drivers could not match the sheer pace, as Morgan flew his new AK car round the circuit. Vilitan F1's continued offensive almost claimed pole, as did Robert Hover's superhuman effort. In the end, Morgan steadied his car on pole by the slimmest of margins.

Meyrat Gets it Wrong

Francois Meyrat got his lap wrong aswell. After loosing it coming out of the first corner, he hit the gravel trap hard. Our camera's caught him just before he hit the barriers at speed. His car looked unserviceable, but he was unhurt in the accident. Alex Donnoz also got his lap slightly wrong, hitting the grass out of section two and nearly spinning his car into a wall. He escaped to finish his lap.

The top players in the championship chase held true to form qualifying near the top in what will surely be an entertaining grand prix. Daniels, Wilkins shine in qualifying
Team continue good run of form

Team LivEng Racing continued their strong qualifying performances by having both drivers qualify in the top eight (Mike Daniels 6th, Troy Wilkins 8th) for the first time this season in Moleland.

Daniels, who's been the only driver of LivEng Racing's three (including the now-4th choice Oscar Phillips, who raced in all races up to the last race of the first half of the season) to pick up points this year, finished qualifying with a strong 1:45.7275, about four-tenths off the pace set by Ari Morgan. Wilkins, participating in only his second qualifying, posted another strong result, better than anything Phillips achueved, fifteen-hundredths of a second behind Daniels.

The two will, however, start on the 'dirty' side of the track, off the racing line, but will surely be hoping to make up for that by racing well with a good pit strategy. When asked about Wilkins' strong lap, Daniels, now the team's first driver, commented, "It's nice to see Troy getting something... this shows his talent, and he's got years ahead of him." It seems that Phillips had better start looking for a new team....

I can overtake them both on the third lap. Even if I don't, it's very hard to lead a race. It's really easy to stuff up. I prefer chasing.'

Steve Qualified half way in the pack. He needs a good race to keep his place.

Carnage in Moleland - Wilkins Survives!

The most eventful and surprising race of the seasons so far! We have seent ail end pile-ups and middle field scraps, but enver the entire top driver roster pecked off in one go! This track seemed to attract collisions, and we saw the star of the future, Troy Wilkins, pick his way through the wreckage to win the race ahead of all others. It was an unlucky day for Vilitan F1 especially, as both it's drivers were taken off. It was the same with other top teams, who saw their quickest drivers disappear in smoke.

This Was Just After the First Lap

The race started with a stoppage, surprisingly. After a fantastic start from most of the front end drivers, they sped into the first corner, three abreast. Guess what happened next. Morgan locked his brakes, and Hover misjudged his angle. The cars collided, spinning out and collecting the two Vilitan F1 car's within a second of each other. Mike Daniels, behind, had nowhere to go and hit the back of Shultis's car at speed. Five races wrecked in an instance.

After that the action was relelntless. After a two lap safety car period while the wreckage was cleared up, the cars got going again. After this it was just a constant race to the finish. Cars jostled for position, which ended in another incident at the chicane on the back section. Gilchrist, Donnoz and Vanca came together, after vying for position into the jink. Gilchrist survived to make it to the pits, but retired after another lap, his rear suspension broken.

Donnoz in the Gravel

Wilkins didn't cruise to the finish, either. Five laps from the end he made a move on Motherwell to gain the lead. He made a fantastic move on the inside into the first corner, and after that gradually pulled away untilt he checkered flag. Ridgewell had to battle aswell, storming the field with move after move on his way to third. It was a truly exciting race, perhaps the best we have seen so far.

Daniels crashes on first lap, Wilkins wins race dramatically
Daniels fit enough for next race, say doctors
Team jumps into third in constructors race

Mike Daniels failed to finish. That must come as a shock to all LivEng Racing fans who've been following the team this year, as this is the first race Daniels has retired in. But what is even more amazing is that Troy Wilkins, racing just his second NSF1 race, won in Moleland, taking the lead with just five laps remaining.

Daniels, who, according to team doctors, is "fit enough for the next race", was involved in a high-speed first-lap collision with all the other front-runners - Ari Morgan, Gary Shultis Jr. - whose car got rammed into by Daniels, Robert Hover and Jurgen Ramzi all retired on the first lap after the calamity that all started with a simple brake lock-up by race leader Ari Morgan. Shultis Jr., in second, turned smoothly into the next bend but third-placed Robert Hover, racing in front of his home crowd, misjudged the angle at which Morgan turnd and rammed into Morgan, sending Morgan's car spinning into Shultis Jr.'s, and his own into Vilitan F1's other top-four driver Jurgen Ramzi, race winner in Orean. And at that very moment Mike Daniels came up on this mess - unfortunately for him, right into the back of Shultis Jr.'s wreckage, forcing a two-lap safety car period.

In the post-race press conference, race winner Troy Wilkins confirmed the extent of the damage to Daniels' car. "Mike's.... [car] is gone... The team engineers took a look and knew it was beyond repair the second they saw it. Mike's obviously upset... he could have finished this race strongly, and the crash was most certainly not his fault. Although, suffice to say, we are all happy that no one was seriously hurt."

"Mike's suffered a few bruised ribs, but we expect him to be fit enough for the next race. We'd like an inquiry into the incident, and will be filing an official compalint to the NSF1. The team would also like to congratulate Troy on his first-ever win, his first-ever podium... all on his second race."

Drivers afraid to push cars. Last places ensue.

After witnessing a large pile-up in the first corner, drivers Padley and Diverge were hesitant to push their cars for speed. Never ones to trust what they see as flimsy excuses for cars, the drivers didn't once top 200km/h and found themselves occupying the last two places as a result.

However the team has hopes for the next race as various other teams are being forced to roll-out back-up cars, which should give FLP a little edge.

Fmj Racing's fall continues, Dannoz crashes in race again

After starting strong, Fmj Racing has been having a hard time regaining their top status. Alex Dannoz was in a crash in the 33rd lap that ended any chances of a top finish for one of the best racers out there. It is his second retirement of the series. The slower tracks have been hard for Fmj, as they are known for high speed. Levi Buck hld on the entire race and barely finished in 11th place, one of the lowest finishes for either racer.

Despite the unluckiness today, both racers are optimistic. Right away tommorow, the techs are fixing Dannoz's car. The body is not to bad, and the engine managed to avoid damage. Look for stronger runs by Fmjphoenix in faster tracks.

The new Ciramix F1 car was tested yesterday at the teams test track in Tenyaan, and the C-2005C proved to be a vast improvement over the previous chassis. It's performance at medium and high speeds was improved, and various new aerodynamic pieces will be ready for the next grand prix in Tonissia. The car burst the track record in Kazakhstania, during it's 140 lap adventure by Mohiedinne Kaddouri, and Ian Hunter made an addition to the testing process.

The new car will be in use at this weekends Grand Prix, aswell as a major engine, tyre and chassis update. Two cars will be present at the up-coming race, though the reserve car will be a C-2005B.

Gareth Dussis confirmed yesterday that he had made a formal complaint to the NSF1 authorities about the lack of an inquiry into the first-lap crash in the Moleland Grand Prix which took out five drivers, including Mike Daniels.

"It's outrageous that they haven't launched an official inquiry into that fracas, Mike was robbed of a potential race win though it was none of his fault!" It remains to be seen what NSF1 authoities do.

NSF1 Officials Declare: "There will be no inquiry"
A bold answer to Gareth Dussis

Head NSF1 officials replied to Dussis' request for an inquiry in a press conference earlier today, just before the practice for the qualifying that is taking place in ten minutes time here in Tonissia. In front of various team officials including LivEng Racing Crew, Michael Praries, Head Race Official, said:

"The incident at the last Grand Prix was purely accidental, and was a racing incident. Drivers and teams were robbed of points, yes, and no-one was really to blame. However, that's racing, and it happens. If the accident was more severe, for example resulting in injuries, or one party was clearly to blame, we would launch an inquiry.

As for now, we believe that the result of an inquiry would be that no-one was to blame, and too many inquiries is damaging to a sport. We will therefore put it down to "racing", and leave it at that. Thankyou."

At that, he left the conference with his entourage. No-one is to blame, it seems, and we wait for a reaction from Dussis.

Shultis Jr. Ready to Rebound

----------------3wide.com Vilita F1 Driver Gary Shultis Jr. was eager to rebound after a first lap accident took out him, and a bunch of the favorites in Moleland, including teammate Jurgen Ramzi. Shultis Jr. was quick to admit that he was more than dissapointed after the incident, but he had put the race behind him and was now looking forward to a strong effort to get the Vilita F1 campaign back on track.

----------------Vilitan Test Driver River Suzgar has reportedly been pressing the Vilitan team managers to send in an official request to field a third vehicle in one of the upcoming races, so he too can experience some time in a real grand prix. These rumors coming after 3wide.com Vilita publically confirmed that they had no plans on rotating Suzgar in to replace either Shultis Jr. or Ramzi while they were still posting top qualifying and race runs as they have been recently.

Vilitan F1 Dominant Again

The qualifying session for the Tonissian Grand Prix was largly uneventful, and we saw the continued dominance of Vilitan F1 team. Theirs drivers are skilled and they seem dominant on these slower speed courses. We also see the return of Troy Wilkins, a young star who set a stellar lap time, outpacing his team mate in only his third race. Ciramix F1 also made a venture to the top, recording their highest position so far.

And those are the times from the qualifying session. There was no shock as the two green Vilitan cars go fast, but the two surprises were Paul Gilchrist and Troy Wilkins, two young drivers driving medium-threat cars, who claimed 3rd and fourth places. We here at Kazakh-TV sense a competition there for the final podium place. From there on its very close, with many teams mixed up throughout the field. We sense some of the tailenders are two stopping, and should be a threat in the race.

Gilchrist Fields his Best Lap in a While

The only casualty in the battle for speed was Jerry Nadeau, who spun in the tricky "Charades" section. Also casualties are the FMJ team, who seem to have gone backwards. Indeed, Donnoz has gone from first to last! It seems the drivers are underdeveloped however, perhaps a fault int he youth program? The car seems competitive enough, it seems. Oliverry were also at the back as usual, but we see a bright future for this team. There is plenty of talent.

Wilkins qualifies 4th as Daniels struggles to rebound
Dussis reportedly outrageous at failure of NSF1 to launch inquiry into Moleland crash

It's just about official: the crash a week ago in the Moleland GP has had an effect on Mike Daniels, who qualified below his normal average lap times in relation to the other drivers.

Gareth Dussis, team principal, had just prior to the session been turned down a request for an inquiry into the mess at the start of the race in Moleland. "It's an absolute farce that the authorities aren't doing anything about it," Dussis reportedly said. He can expect to receive a fie from NSF1 authorities soon.

Meanwhile, Troy Wilkins has qualified 4th in only his third race, after winning in Moleland from 8th. At the post-qualifying conference, Wilkins took the place of Paul Gilchrist, who had prior commitments. "It's been a great two weeks for me, I'm happy that Gareth has kept his faith in me, and I hope to repay it over the coming races. As for Mike.... he's not been feeling too good..."

Dussis confirmed after the race that Mike Daniels had not fully recovered from his injuries sustained in Moleland and he would be given Oscar Phillips, dumped by the team earlier in the season, a second chance.

Buck and Dannoz struggle's completely shocking to Fmjphoenicians

Levi Buck and Alex Dannoz have been struggling as of late in the Formula 1 circuits. Despite being the top racers in Fmjphoenix, they have not been able to perform out on the circuits. They are heavily active in racing in their privite time as well as for their living. Although they seem to be fine, some people think that maybe they are mentally blocking themselves from their true abilities. FMJ Racing lead Joe Strickland has found a possible helper in relaxing the troubled racers. All that was said is that a different type of atmosphere is being brough into the FMJ Racing garage. We will see if the new change in atmosphere can bring these guys out of their funk and to start racing at their potential.

Ramzi Leads In Championship Hunt

The race was fairly unexciting, with most of the action being further down the field. Indeed, the top four drivers did not swap places. Further down, though, it was a different story. Mike Daniels perhaps showed his fitness, or just the speed of the car, filling in with a valiant effort for Wilkins, who dropped out after a spin in the rain. Team of the day though is Vilitan F1, with both green cars pulling away from the pack soon after the start. Indeed, they lapped most of the field before the finish.

Ergeller Spins it...Again

Well done to the races podium finishers then, especially Paul Gilchrist, earning his first podium, and highest finish this season by far. The new C-2005C appears very competitive, then. Of course, Robert Hover wasn't far behind, and Mike Daniels was closing in aswell, posting the third fastest lap. Unluckiest driver of the day was Wilkins, who qualified well but lost grip in the light rain shower on lap 12, while on dry tyres. Ergeller, however, had handling problems and spun several times, before coming into the pits to end a days work, on lap 23.

Mike Daniels should be commended on an excellent drive, gaining five places on his way to fifth. He amde some brilliant overtaking maneuvers,a nd his pass on Ari Morgan on the fifth lap after losing a place at the start was pure majic. Well done! Aprt from that, there isn't really much else to say. Next race is at the Atryau Circuit in Kazakhstania, for the Worldwide Grand Prix. There, the debate on the inquiry will probably continue! See you then!

Vilita Take Names in Tonissia

-------------------The Vilita F1 team lined up side by side on the grid at the start of the Grand Prix of Tonissia. Jurgen Ramzi and Gary Shultis Jr. with the entire field behind them. As the green flew, the two filed in line, and began their tear accross the Tonissian sun. The next time any other driver would see either of the flying green rockets would be in their rear-view mirros, as the teal terrors pulled up to lap them. Lap them once, lap them twice, and in the case of Uri Yillberg of Oliverry Racing, Lap them fourteen times. Over the final few laps, Ramzi began pulling away and Shultis settled his #14 ride into the runner up spot, fighting a potential gearbox problem as the race neared a close, solidifying Ramzi's name in the winners circle, but rewarding 3wide.com Vilita F1 with their first 1-2 finish of the season.

-------------------The domination in Tonissia moved 3wide.com Vilita to the top of the constructors standings, five points clear of Mole F1, although Aston F1 was still lingering close behind in 3rd. The slow start to the season left Ramzi and Shultis Jr. 3rd and 4th respectively in the drivers standings, despite a misprint in the official standings that had listed LivEng racing's Mike Daniels in third. Ramzi currently trails series leading Robert Hover by 12 points, and all competitors will be looking for Hover to make the first mistake if they have any hope of catching him to lift the first ever NSF1 Title.

Drivers Set their Sights on Hover

----------------------After news of another dual top-five qualifying effort by the Vilita duo of Jurgen Ramzi and Gary Shultis Jr., the media again began questioning them about their chances for sneaking out a victory in the chase for the title. Both drivers agreed that their chances were slim to none unless Mole F1 Driver Robert Hover found himself parked in a barrier at some point during this Grand Prix.

"If Hover finishes this race in the top five, you may as well give him the trophy now. He's just not going to be catchable. If he doesn't finish, that's another story then. That would put the ball in our court, and we'd sure as heck like to run with it."

----------------------When asked if other drivers felt the same way, the duo agreed that there was one driver that the whole field was after.

"It's kind of like the guy that wins all the races, except not. He's just the guy everyone says 'ohhhh it's hover' when they are near him on the track. I think a lot of the slower drivers are too cautious around him, and that's why he has such an easy go of it. If some of these guys raced him for their space the way they race us, it could be a different story come the Vilitan Grand Prix."

Sam Gagnon: Damn shit. Sorry Tourri, but if you don't get a very good race, you won't be in this team anymore. Our team qualified last. I mean, we can be better than that...
Tourri Ergeller: I know, it's not my fault if I'm only good on fast tracks. Leave me the next 2 races and I'll show you that I can be good on every type of races.
Sam Gagon: I will let you do 2 races, not 3, but 2, so this means this one and the next one. So, if you don't do the job, we'll check for another driver. Did you understand this?
Tourri Ergeller: Yes I did. Now, let me prepare for the race. I won't deceive you!

Morgan on a Charge

It looks like it's going to be a close end to the season. With Ramzi closing in on Hover, Hover attempting to push him back and Morgan still trying to close in, the final race should be all important. The midfield was close too, with the final points places hotly contested, young gun Troy Wilkins just securing his point. There were also few retirements, two going down to the harsh, low grip hills of Atryau and three having a manner of engine problems.

This course in notorious on gearbox's and engines, the cars taking a real battering on the short, sharp straights of the town. The race was won by lap times and not positions, however, as most overtaking was done at the pit stops. However, some moves were made, including the intense final lap battle between Gilchrist and Ramzi.

http://www.f1-pics.com/sanmarino04/sanmarino2004_057.jpg
Ramzi Was Pushing

Hover was also incredibly unlucky. After a fantastic start to the race, getting past Ramzi, his gearbox started causing problems, and he dropped through the field. Him still recording points was a sign that he is still a world class driver, well deserving of being a champion. Another world class driver is Ari Morgan.

He has been struggling lately, but today put in a fantastic performance, and is deserving of any title he gets. He made his way up several places, and after a pit stop problem he caught up to his original position, making a frankly stunning move around the outside of Mike Daniels, into an 150 mph turn! Respect to him for that!

The FLP team has finally given up hope of a podium finish for their drivers this season. They've been told that if they find themselves in the points, sit there. The team find themselves sitting with very few points and don't wish to risk any points they might receive.

A poor result in the next race will probably see Diverge dropped in favour of Baffle. Though this is merely speculation.

Great times from all, minus a by now familiar slip up from Jerry Nadeau, who once more spun in a high speed section, wrecking his car in the process. This track has proven to be incredibly difficult to drive quickly, and he just slipped up on the tricky hairpin-chicane on the back section. Other than that, everythign went well, other than the session beginnign 20 minutes early, throwing TV companies off worldwide! Perhaps the organisers were over-eager to start the session? Who knows!

Not good. But better.

It seems there is only one way to make Diverge perform, and that is to threaten his job. Twice he has come close to being replaced for apalling performances, and twice he has pulled superb tricks out of the bag. He gained his only points when told he needed them to not lose his job, and when threatened again a few days ago, he has gone and pulled out a performance which saw him power through the first section.

Padley didn't have quite so successful a day however and will be glad to not be starting from the very back. Hopefully both drivers will work their way up the grid, and get the team a few more valuable points.

Driver of the Day: Troy Wilkins - LivEng Racing

Team of the Day: Vilitan F1

Wilkins, Driver of the Day

Those are the results! The championship looks to be hotting up, as Hover holds a small advantage going to Vilita, where Ramzi will have the courage of the home fans behind him. It should be an incredible final race, just the end to the season we had hoped for! This race, though, was only belonging to one man, and that's Gary Shultis Jr. He led from the start, and didn't let up, even with Wilkins closing in at the finish. Well done to him!

As for Wilkins, he drove a fantastic, if lonely race. From the start he put on a good pace, and when Ramzi and Mole went in for their stops, he turned up the pace, skipping in front of both of them, into second. From then on he closed in at around a second a lap on Shultis, gainign to within 5 seconds before the finish. This earns his more valuable points, and could put LivEng Racing in the running for a third or even second in the constuctors championship.

Ergeller Out...At The First Corner

There wasn't much first lap drama, minus a collision between Padley and Ergeller. the two collided into the first curve, leaving each other stranded in the gravel trap. There was shared blame, it seems, as both cars turned too tight and took each other out. Nasty! Another driver error was Levi Buck, who span it at speeed, on his home circuit. Unlucky, Levi. Anyway, on to the next race, we will see you soon!

SCF1 Board satisfied but not completly impressed with results

After the results filtered in, the board expresed themselves as satisfied by the team's performance. However, it didn't take a Rocket Scientist to realise that the board weren't impressed by the performance of the team.

The director had this to say:
"I know that we are a mid-table team and I don't disagree with that at all. But the best place this team has managed this season id second place. That is brilliant... but not brilliant enough. This team must, can, and will strive for pole position at their home circuit Sunderland and win 1st place at Sunderland. The Team intend to win one Grand Prix this season. If we can do that, then I will be satisfied. Mid-table is fine, but no First Place Cup is not fine. We need to grind out better results than what we achieved today.

Oliverrian drivers Tourri Ergeller and Uri Yillberg fired by the team

FIMBLE LOVING PEOPLES - (NSFP)Oliverry F1 team fired their 2 drivers earlier yesterday. They will be replaced by 2 new Oliverrian Drivers: Guillaume Dubé, that already was the test driver for Oliverry F1 and a new driver, Jules Laliberté, who was the best in the underground scene, in Marshalliston. We just hope that he wont try to do some drifts. Anyway, the area he is good on is in medium speed circuits. Laliberté, 21 years-old, will be the first driver of the team. He impressed everyone on the 3 circuits, reaching 20,786 on the 1-mile oval; 1:02,653 on the 3,7 medium speed track and 1:22,398 on the same track, but under rain. So, he beat every old records on each tracks.

Well done to all the drivers. However, you may notice that CTS Racing is missing from the lineup. On Thursday morning, when they arrived here, the car was inspected and deemed to be 12mm too low. This goes agaisnt the rules drawn up at the start of the season, and so the team was disqualified. Unlucky, we say.

Hover - The Unluckiest Man in F1

So that's it then! Shultis Jr. wins the world championship, ahead of his teammate Hover and Steve Mole, who finished joint second in the drivers championship. Wilkins wins his second race of hsi career, speeding ahead of all otehr at this Vilitan F1 race circuit. Steve Mole, despite his good race today and above-par performance for the rest of the year, suffers again at the Mole F1 car's reliability. It has been chronic this year, and has caught him and his teammate out many a time.

From the start, Wilkisn pulled away, having a long, and rather boring race out front. But the true battle was behind, between Shultis and Hover. Shultis got ahead on the 13th lap, and the two were within five secodns of each otehr for most of the race. However, on the 54th of 58 laps, Hovers car stuttered, and he was forces to return to his garage. LivEng Racing also had a good day, jumping yet further up the constructors championship.

All we Saw of Wilkins All Afternoon

Ian Hunter of Ciramix F1 also crashed out, losing downforce into the second corner at the end of the long straight over the water, and plowed into the barriers. He was unhurt. David Motherwell finished a promising season with an Electronics failure and Manuel Diverge got up into the top ten before his engine broke under the flat out conditions.

So that's the end of the season then. The final results are:

Drivers Championship:

45 - Gary Shultis Jr. - Vilitan F1
42 - Robert Hover - Mole F1
42 - Jurgen Ramzi - Vilitan F1

And that's that.

It's been an eventful year in the first season of NS Formula 1. It's been nail biting stuff, going from a shaky start which looked to be the start of failure for the FLP team, right through to failure for the FLP team.

Along the way there have been moments though. Diverge wrecking the chances of others in that early race, Padley almost getting on the podium, and the frequent threats to fire Diverge.

But now it's all over until next year. Diverge has officially lost his job, with Baffle taking his place, and a startling young new driver waits in the wings for his chance to shine. Though the team is not revealing this driver until next year.

Motherwell in the top 10

The Stevid F1 Team end the season with a great achivement, Motherwell is 8th in the Championship has said to have been deilighted and amazed at how quickly the season has gone. The board were very impressed with Peter Conroy as well who has done quite well for himself this season.

With one cup in the display case, they know that the season was not play in vein and on the first ever quailifing lap, Stevid took the Pole which will be ever remembered by the team.

The board expressed their congratulations to the Vilitan F1 driver Gary Shultis Jr. for winning the Championship.
