I have an interesting theme I'd like to throw out to the community here. Here's the concept.

The age of men has advanced to a time of prosperous production, and a world population of over six billion homo sapiens. Science has led men from the caves, to the dwellings, to cities, and ultimately to space. Technology has gone from sticks and stones to guns, to lasers. In a world where man rules supreme, only by the power of his mind, it is easy to forget how...and why they came to where they are now.

Archaeologists have uncovered a partially complete skull of a homo sapien, dating back nearly 200,000 years. Scientists estimate that this specimen has come from roughly the very beginnings of the homo sapiens. Associate science institutions have taken possession of the skull and have subjected it to some covert operations. Genome testing, DNA study, and more.

But that wasn't enough. Science demanded more answers, and men were led blindly by its promises of breakthroughs. Advanced genetic technology helped to recreate an entire specimen of homo sapiens, using only the genetic ingredients of that 200,0000 year old skull...

Look interesting to anyone? I think this would be a very good RP, if we could get a small number of people to join. I don't want this to blow into a 15-20 person RP, as those seem to always disintegrate, and the end of the thread is never seen. I'm looking between 5 to 8 people.

This RP will be set in Modern tech, slightly future tech (to account for the genetic reproduction of the specimen). It is a realism-based RP, so no elves, mages, faeries or anything fantasy related.

I'm interested, but what would it be about? I'm just a little unclear.

It's going to be a sort of face off between the primitive and the modern men. Primitive will escape, cause havoc all over the area, and modern men will try to subdue the creature. The thing is, the primitive man will be more in touch with his surroundings, although foreign it is. His sense, instincts, etc will be more primal, and morality will not be much of a development of an idea, if at all.

Basically, science has created a real life Frankenstein that perhaps should have remained as it was. Dead and gone.

-Her father, Gregory Lander runs the nation's largest (and possibly corrupt) mining companies though she dispises him, he still looks after her and Ian

-Speiclizes in ancient civilazations and persons.

Appearance: Bulbous and pocked, floats about, critiquing and bossing.

Role: Administrator of project, scared of failure, refuses to take precautions. Looking for personal wealth and glory. Likes stimjuice and bourbon and exotic cigars. Complete grade-a jackass boss.

Special: That hoverchair is really damn fast when he wants it to be.

He is the most brilliant doctor in the TSI, but yet, he still has to answer to higher-ups. He is the one who first concieved the idea of the experiment, and he will be the one who will have to answer for anything that might go wrong.

Once we get the submissions from the two who haven't done so yet, we'll start. If they haven't posted in two days time, then I will start the thread, and they can jump in when they can, once I see their characters.

This thread will become the OOC thread, once the fun begins.

Also, I know I stated that this would be a non magical, non fantasy kind of thread. However, I placed it within Tarlachia (which is known to have a lot of the above mentioned things.) In this thread, those will be simply ignored or very vaguely referenced to. We will remain mostly in human populations, so nothing to confuse you, or the audience.

This thread will probably start up tonight. Assuming I can find the motivation for it.

Brief historic: Gratuated from the Vigvar State University, faculty of Biology. Became a researcher for VerTech’s secret “47th Laboratory”, but was literally kicked out by the age of 54 when half of the lab staff died for unknown causes. Rumoured to be a specialist in bacteriologic weapons. Currently looking for a job.

Build/Appearance: slim for his height, but slightly muscular, smooth dark-brown hair, wears some glasses

History:
Having a doctor in Anthropology, a master degree in both philosophy and psychology and some further study experience in religion and linguistics of primitive cultures, Dr. Martens didn't have a lot of time for socialazing while working up his career, he was always driven by his work and studies. Instead he found enough time for 3 expeditions up to now, always into regions of primitive cultures barely existant anymore. He visited some south-american indians, a tribe in Central Africa and a far-away enclave of eskimos in the artic and lived with each of them for about a year. These expeditions served as foundations for his further studies.
Strangely enough, he seems to adapt quickly to the different cultures he emerged himself in, but seems a cynic in normal life and one could get the impression he has no high opinion of the "civilized man", even if science, his field of work, is a product of the latter.

Can I please join in? with a security guard character? you haven't gotten very much into the RP for it to be difficult to add another character?

Well, normally I'd have said "No, sorry" but I actually think a security guard might not be a bad idea...

You'll have to wait until something drastic happens before you can participate (won't be too long). You won't be able to spy into the laboratory, as it is sealed off and only will open with the Director's card, or by Doctor King's card. Not to mention the doors also require optical and hand scans.

Well, with the security measures, I coukld have the character stand outside the door [like Half Life, yay Barney!] and not actually do anything till stuff goes wrong :p
