Labule class index:

Ships:

Bodemia class (scout ship): $200,000,000
The Bodemia class is built fast and tough. Equipped with advanced long- and short-range sensors, its primary function in times of war is to autonomously scout out enemy fleets, obtain data, and return safely to deliver whatever information it has collected. It has two forward defensive hoksa launchers, each loaded with five mines. It is also equipped with aft laser cannons to fend off pursuing ships and projectiles. In peacetime it can serve equally well as a science or courier ship.

Calicke class (light transport): $500,000
The Calicke light transport is the most mass-produced of all the Labule’s ships. Incredibly functional, most larger ships carry at least one aboard to use both for transportation between vessels and facilities and as an escape vehicle when evacuation orders are issued. Because its facilities total up to be little more than engines and a basic AI for information storage and navigation, the two-compartment Calicke, though small, has a great deal of empty space by volume for transporting people, cargo, or any combination of the two.

Gel class (assault ship): $100,000,000
The Gel is the foundation for the Labule's defense forces, excelling far beyond galactic standards in speed and maneuverability. It compensates for its weak shields with two highly accurate laser cannons, which it uses to shoot down enemy projectiles and weaken the shields of enemy starships. Its main weapon is the powerful forward-mounted antiproton cannon, used primarily for offensive purposes. The Gel carries no hoksas, making it more defensively vulnerable in planespace.

Hokal class (guard ship): $2,000,000,000
Designed as a complement to the Gel as well as a heavy hitter in its own right, the Hokal class guard ship is all but useless in close-quarters combat. It is designed for long range forward assault. With its pylons deployed it exposes auxiliary forward shield projectors, four offensive grade laser cannons, a high-powered antiproton cannon, and its main weapon: 56 hoksa bays, each loaded and ready with a hoksa that can be fired either alone or in formation with the ship’s others. Only the hoksas are used under normal circumstances. The ship’s energy weapons are reserved as last-resort offense and defense at close range. Guard ships must have the support of lighter craft to be effective in combat.

Lesui class (patrol ship): $3,000,000,000
The Lesui class patrol ship is designed to be an all-around warship, specialized for independent operation and defense. Equipped with a full array of powerful weapons, the Lesui class is a very solid attempt to incorporate all the best design elements the Labule has at its disposal into a single vessel. The result is a quick, relatively long-range starship with strong offensive ability. The Lesui class has two significant handicaps however. Firstly, because of its powerful weapons and shields, fuel range becomes an issue during extended periods of alert. Secondly, because of its size and often operating away from other combat vessels, it is practically vulnerable when combating more than a few targets at a time.

Longia class (personnel shuttle): $100,000
The Longia personnel shuttle is a very small vessel designed to carry up to twenty passengers in relative comfort within a solar system. It has no frasas jenreet, but its powerful ion engines provide quick short-range transportation between planets, stations, and ships. Longias are usually stationed aboard space stations and at planetary facilities.

Sazoil class (supply ship): $200,000,000
The heavy cargo ship of the Labule fleet, the Sazoil class supply ship is fully equipped to carry everything from weapons to food to fuel and deploy it where needed. Its versatility allows it to operate equally well as a routine transport ship or as a vital supply line to a battlefront. It has a long range, but travels more slowly than most combat ships. Lightly armed and moderately shielded, the Sazoil is usually escorted when any trouble is expected.

Segno class (personal transport): $500,000
A very small craft, what few facilities the Segno shuttle has are devoted to making its single passenger comfortable. The simple but elegant command center is alone in the forward compartment, where the pilot (if one is aboard) spends his or her time. The rear compartment has a small lounge and bedroom area, as well as limited storage for consumables. On solo missions, the Segno can be set to autopilot if the occupant wishes to retire to the rear compartment. While it is only intended for one passenger, the VIP facilities of the Segno easily accommodate two. Thus, it can operate effectively with one, two, or three occupants. It also has a single, forward-mounted laser cannon to deter attackers.

Facilities:

Casi yazu (full-service starbase): $500,000,000,000,000
Proposed as a massive facility of almost fifty billion cubic meters, a casi yazu is slated to be built in the Mirfak System as soon as it can be afforded, which at the current time means never. Specifications are still vague, and the project may never be realized.

Fabril yazu (drydock/shipbuilding facility): $100,000,000,000
The designation given to all drydock facilities where starships can be built and maintained. They vary greatly in size and design, but are generally poorly armed and defended. This is pulled off because they are only built in well-established territory, where they can be defended by other ships and facilities.

Intiri yazu (operations starbase): $500,000,000,000
A large, well-defended facility designed to serve as a command post and staging area for Labule personnel and operations. Equipped with station and fleet command centers as well as internal docking facilities for shuttles and external ports for larger ships, it can also service and supply other vessels to a limited extent.

Sazoil yazu (supply station): $100,000,000
A large, minimally-staffed storage facility used to store consumables, ordinance, and other supplies for Labule starships. Support fleets are usually staged from these stations.

Vesh yazu (antisubstance fuel station): $50,000,000
A very simple automated facility, a vesh yazu station has three compartments: one for refining antisubstance from liquid Xenon, and one each for storing substance and antisubstance fuel. It must be resupplied with Xenon by supply vessel, or directly if the station is situated in a nebula. It has a single docking port at the end of a long arm that keeps vessels at a safe distance from the fuel storage compartments to minimize the possibility of accidents. This port has three pipelines, one each for dispensing substance and antisubstance fuel and one for pumping in new Xenon gas for refinement. It also has a narrow hallway, from which monitoring and maintenance staff can access the station.

-Armor rating: 1.

Other:

Weko class (escape pod): $5,000
The Weko’s interior is simply a padded compartment, just big enough to hold its two occupants and breathing room. Powered with a simple lithium battery, its three only systems are a simple carbon dioxide scrubber, maneuvering thrusters, and distress signal emitter, all automatically activated upon ejection and operated by a tiny onboard computer with the help of proximity sensors. Carried aboard larger vessels; with no frasas jenreet and no defenses, the Weko is a very simple, straightforward escape pod.

Dimensions: 3x2x2 meters
-Powerplant: One electronically charged lithium battery (5 watt output).

It looks pretty good all in all, not my personal preferences on some things, but not too bad

The fleet focuses heavily on specialization. That tends to make Labule starships vulnerable on their own, but very strong when in their proper fleets. It's a different approach from the Star Trek kind of ships that tend to incorporate most systems into all their ships. That's why it's rare for Labule starships to travel alone, whereas with most nations vessels are fairly self-sufficient under most conditions.

Mmm, Crest of Stars/Banner of Stars, been trying to find pics online for that anime set for awhile. I wonder if they're any better undubbed.....the dubbing is simply atrocious.

I enjoy it both ways. I got my images from the DVDs themselves. I have a DVD-ROM drive on my computer, so it's an easy task with WinDVD. If you want a particualr image I can probably get it for you. I have all three series'.
