For some time now the Aumanii government have been pursuing a means of travelling to alternate dimensions. Ever since practical dimensional travel had been proven feasible by Dr.Kang. The program, initially approved by Overlord Balthizar Marduk, took many years to be realized and when the Aethergate was finally completed a new Overlord, Romendacil, was in power. The Aumanii regime had changed its previous doctrine of defensive warfare and cooperative economic reform with one of aggression. In the short years following the creation of the Aethergate, the Aumanii military had launched many expeditions into foreign dimensions. Many of which ended in bloodshed and victory for the Aumanii, many more ending in bitter defeat.

The Aumanii, so it seemed to the inhabitants of other dimensions, were barbarians. Coming with the wind to plunder their resources, kill their men and rape their women. The forces of Auman were feared and hated through out the known dimensions for good reason.

Though, it would seem as if the Aethergate had ill effects on the men and women who travelled through it. Many of the troopers who had travelled to the back of beyond had come down with mysterious psychological ailments. Murder and other violent criminal activity had become more and more common amongst the troops of the Elite divisions.

'Captain Leswyuk, how do you plead?'

'Not guilty speaker...not guilty.' replied Captain Leswyuk to a splendidly dressed Judge, a tone of bitter resignation in his voice. The Judge, one Prefect Jayse scoffed and spat back a scathing retort 'If you take that tone with me one more time Leswyuk I'll have you beaten!' Jayse sneered at the defendant and reviewed some documents, moments later he brought his eyes back to Leswyuk, who appeared with out an attorney as was the norm in Auman. 'There is some pretty damning evidence here. Testimonials from your squad mates, photographs...damn it man, we've pulled slugs out of the victim that match your weapon. You better have a damn good explanation as to how this happened.' The Judge laughed. Leswyuk nodded his head sagely 'I do have an explanation...though, its not very popular and I doubt you will believe me.' Jayse steepled his fingers and leaned towards the young Captain 'Im an open minded man, try me...Ive read the story before, but I want to hear it from you Captain. So you say Physicist MacDol was possessed by ghosts?' Jayse seemed to be taking a great amount of amusement from this case.

Leswyuk tripped on his words 'Not ghosts...well, I guess that would be the best way to explain it.' Jayse glared at Leswyuk 'Were you aware of your psychological record Captain? I for one dont understand how you were allowed into the military, let alone the elite division. ADD, ADHD and a minor case of Schitzophrenia. If I had my way you would've been aborted from your mothers womb...' 'Fuck you!' spat Captain Leswyuk, which was followed by a swift kick to the sternum, care of the baliff. '...Anyway, in your confession you said that you saw "A horrifying spirit float down from the heavens" and enter Physicist MacDol and that "He (MacDol) had been acting suspiciously ever since." If I didn't know any better I would say you had a relapse...' Leswyuk, on his knees, mumbled 'Its true...it spoke to me...' Jayse reclined in his plush seat 'Nothing spoke to you Lesywuk, there was no spirit. You are just insane...Possibly the shock of travelling to another dimension?' Leswyuk looked up at the Judge, tears welling up in his eyes and as he did he saw the same aura that surrounded the murdered physicist and he laughed. 'Dont think Im blind...' said Leswyuk '...I know what you are Jayse and I know what your...your, what ever the hell you monsters are upto. As I said, MacDol spoke to me. Though I doubt he knew it...he spoke to my mind!'

'You're a god damn lunatic Leswyuk...'

The Captain screamed out 'I know everything! You monsters are trying to conquer our dimension, conquer our bodies and eat our souls! Spiriya!' Jayse's eyes widened '...Baliff, have this man shot immediately!' the baliff saluted the judge and soon the room was full of armed security men who dragged Captain Leswyuk out of the courtroom screaming.

When it was discovered that the Aethergate had been causing dangerous behaviour in those who passed through it a think tank was formed to find the cause and hopefully, if it was even possible, a solution to the problem. The think tank's first suggestion to the government was to call back the troops, this of course was unacceptable to Romendacil, the ruler of Auman. Though the Overlord could not in good conscience keep the same level of 'human' troopers on deployment and turned to alternative sources of manpower.

The SHOK programme was developed shortly after the death of Balthizar Marduk. Using the deceased Overlords DNA, scientists created a system that could grow fully developed men in an incredibly short period of time. The Aumanii government had only introduced a very small number of these so called SHOK troopers into the military, as many in the command structure did not trust them. Though now it seemed as though these cheap and most importantly, expendable, troops would become more and more common and eventually take over responsibility for the Elite divisions in the Aether.

Balthizar Marduk's widow Annatolia had been against the SHOK programme from the very beginning and many times her son, Bolizar, had violently demonstrated his dislike for the SHOK troopers and even the scientists who developed them. Though they held much prestige in Aumanii society, the Marduk family held no sway over Romendacil.

It was not a very well kept secret that Romendacil hated Balthizar Marduk for marrying Annatolia. Jarak Romendacil Rosiro had grown up with Annatolia Ifaredi and loved her obssessively and for a very short time in their youth they courted one another until a very awkward incident forced Annatolia to break off their relationship. For that reason Romendacil chose Marduk's DNA for the SHOK programme. 'I have often wished to see Balthizar Marduk die a thousand deaths. Now I can.' said Romendacil upon signing the order to begin production.

Many in the Aumanii Military High command opposed the expansion of the SHOK programme, most notably General Uthor. General Uthor's 1st Elite Division had a near spotless record of decisive military victory through out the known dimensions and he and his men resented being reassinged to Magyar Base on Earth. Rightfully, the military felt usurped.

In a meeting of Romendacil's General Staff, General Uthor the leading expert in interdimensional warfare was very outspoken. Uthor went in front of his colleagues and said 'This clone army is pathetic and will lead to our defeat in the Aetherverse! I demand our Romendacil rethink his approach.' Many agreed with Uthor and filled the council room with shouts of approval. Bolizar Marduk spoke in defence of the Overlord, who he regarded as a father 'Its better we send these puppets to die instead of our own. We have no idea with the Aether is doing to our men. Uthor! you are a fool to risk the sanity of your own men!' With that General Uthor stood up suddenly, his chair scraping against the floor 'Damn you boy! the only reason you are here is because of your father!' the room went into an uproar as Marduk supporters stood and shouted in offense. Romendacil finally took charge, slamming his fist against his desk loudly, furious the Overlord said 'Though I respect your opinions, you must all remember that it is not mandatory for you to be here...in fact, your being here is a priviledge that I've granted you all. Now sit down you are all acting like fools.' Romendacil took a sip of his liquor and grimaced. 'My decision is final, The Elite Divisions will withdraw starting tomorrow.'

Training of the SHOK army was accelerated due to the situation, the need to replace the real soldiers on the front to prevent the degradation of their mental faculties. Many of the soldiers had forgone infantry tactics and were taught only how to maintain and their weapons. The plan had been to train the men in the field and if that was not possible, hopefully the ones that survived combat would get enough experience to be effective in combat. The attitude of the human trainers towards their SHOK students was poor to say the least, this of course hampered the training process even more as training accidents were common. Apparently some of the instructors had failed to run their students through proper safety protocols.

The Morale of the SHOK troopers was very low, as was to be expected. Most of troopers had only just been born, their concept of the Aumanii language was poor and men were shouting at them, handing them weapons and telling them to kill. Many were confused at first, but after a few days they got used to it, barely.

Auman had been involved in many conflicts through out the twelve dimensions. Most notably, the Aumanii involvement in Universe A-3. The nation, in its ever lasting quest for resources had stumbled on a world with great potential. Two powerful super powers, billions of men and women, clashing for centuries. If Auman were to bring the war to an end, it could easily seize power and gain the most valuable resource of all. Manpower.

It was a grey, soggy, day in Munich. Though for an Aumanii, rain and clouds weren't a common sight. Some of the garrison went outside to play in the rain like school children, where as others who were less fond of the idea stayed inside and mocked the others. Aumanii fighter pilots chose to fly their sorties another day, choosing to let their fascist "allies" pull their weight. General Uthor, on the other hand, was very busy.

'The Invasion is going better than expected Herr Uthor.' said FeldMarshall Schleffer clippedly, skimming through a dataslate. 'Would you believe me if I told you my SHOK troops are using second line equipment?' Scheffer looked at the Aumanii dubiously 'In the five months that Ive known you and your men Herr Uthor Ive noticed alot of differences between us. We Nazis are proud while Aumanii tend to be subdued in general. Why is it you chose to use second line equipment, and while you're at it General Uthor...tell me, why were German troops excluded from your invasion?' Schleffer lit a cigarette, holding it tightly in his pursed lips. Uthor smiled slightly as he tapped his pen on the top of the lavish oak desk that dominated his office. 'Yes Heinrich, there are alot of differences between our people. What you would call proud is what we call arrogant.' The Nazi shot Uthor a hateful look but before he could say anything the Aumanii spoke 'I know your peoples history and for all that you and Herr Himmler have accomplished you still stumbled and in that time the Americas have become the most threatening entity on this planet. And though you will probably say "We proud Nazis have bested them time and time again!" I will still see this campaign as a failure. The powerful reich of your god and namesake, Heinrich Himmler, has stumbled and with out the help of the Extradimensionals it will fall.'

Feldmarshall Schleffer glared bitterly at the Aumanii, the cigarette all but gone by the end of Uthor's speech. 'That still doesn't answer my questions.' said Schleffer as he ground the cigarette into an ashtray. 'Right...' said Uthor 'Its very simple. The assault on Cuba is a test.' Schleffer rolled his eyes 'This is not a game Uthor...after all, your Romendacil is the one that convinced Himmler to commence hostilities. What is this test going to prove? How susceptible your glorious legions are to gunfire?' Schleffer laughed haughtily, Uthor even joined him. 'To a lesser extent yes.' The Bavarian stopped suddenly and eyed Uthor maliciously 'To a lesser extent?' Uthor nodded at Schleffer and then comically arched his pen through the air like an artillery shell and suddenly threw the pen at the Nazi 'BOOM!' Uthor shouted, much to the surprise of Schleffer. Recovering from the assault Schleffer sighed deeply 'We've already tried atomics Uthor...' The Aumanii laughed in Schleffer's face 'We've been at this longer than you...even our second line equipment leaves you in the dust. Auman has moved beyond primitive atomic weapons. Do you want to know my plan Herr Schleffer?' Schleffer scoffed 'Ive been asking you for how long now?' Uthor slammed his fist on his desk aggressively

'Auman is going to destroy Cuba!'
