Operation Fiery Wrath: The Texan Front

El Paso, the Texas border

Engines roared. Drivers swore. Single-rider and crewed ATV’s fanned out across the trenchlines and into Texas, as the infantry brigades were getting prepared to attack. It would take them long, however – long, painful hours, as the Jim Bowie Assault Brigade plowed into Texas at 100 kilometers per hour, spreading out over the desert to avoid massed attack. Above flew about two hundred Jason Vorhoosen helicopters, attached from both infantry brigades that were still getting their act together. They, too, spread out in a wide path – to meed again only at the end of their journey, in San Antonio, the target of the first strike.

The helicopters were loaded with troops, and under their bellies hung missiles and weapons – air-to-ground missiles, miniguns, bombs and, surprisingly, loudspeakers – mostrously oversized, high-power military models, scaring prarie dogs below and making, it seemed, the very ground shake as they played their music.

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored,
He has loosed the fateful lightening of His terrible swift sword
His truth is marching on.

OOC: Lousy post for now, when I have time I will develop it.

Working closely with Allanea, the Sola Fide Division of the Imperial Guard, an Armoured Division had moved in around the same time the Allaneans did and set up its own base nearby the Allanean ones. It numbered around 75,000 men.

Almost 2 million more men had arrived since then though. His Majesty's 3rd and 5th Armies had landed and been dubbed The Army of California, placed under the field command of Generalfeldmaraschall Joachim von Brauchitz, yet ultimately commanded by the Emperor himself.

Napoleon was with the Sola Christo Division putting down problems in Right Wing Conspirators but would certainly be along shortly to take direct command of the Army.

The Imperial Armada was within a day's sail of California as well.

It consisted of
50 Zimmermann class battleships armed, fueled and ready.

35 Nimitz carriers ready for shipping.

15 Arkhangel class duel-deck battlecarriers ready as well.

75 guided missile cruisers ready.

100 nuclear fast attack subs ready.

25 Lionfish class high-stealth "convoy-killers" subs ready.

25 Pisces "battlesubs" ready.

Manipulation and sale of the currencies for the companies good had started minutes after the first ATV had been tracked crossing the border by the ever watchful satellite network. Possible events were considered and contingency plans laid.

Another slim file across the desks of the Foreign Office, another few sheets of parchment annotated by the underBishops and Clerics. Judas Tay glanced through it and issued a set of orders - another conflict, in another place of the world. He made a note for possible intervention but with the point made that it would be unlikely to be on any significant enough scale to affect the Imperial Faith Union.

The military leaders did decide to take action, if only minor. Far above the troop positions the Eyes of Angels observation satellites moved into position, and the Word of the Lord orbitting launch platforms were put on standby - a precaution in case the conflict should spread.

The task force(1) spilled onto view like a set of cutlery thrown across a black velvet sheet covered in cheap rhinestones. Its makeup was different to usual however, beside the huge bulk of the command carrier lay the large wallowing mass of a ZMCI* tanker.

Deep in the bowls of the Z.M.S.F. “Management Buyout” Command Carrier the Type 300 drop Frigates lay in a orderly lines. The mother of all carry all’s the Type 300’s were one of the most survivable “bricks” in the Z.M.S.F.’s arsenal. Usually they would carry the Landcrawler Corp. to battle or provide logistics support. This time they were being loaded with something quite different.

“God it Reeks in here chief!” Captain Sarah O’Brien, pilot first class Z.M.S.F. shouted over the seemingly loud hum of pumps.

The support crew chief one Han’s Foster a middle aged man who probably had to put up with far too much from the Type 300’s pilots sighed as he fit the hose into yet another massive drop canister incidentally letting the fumes from the tube he was carrying seemingly fill even this cavernous small ship service bay. Turning his clanking DX engineering unit he roared back over the noise of pumping, “Well it probably stinks less than your poker game last week!”

“How’s the lateral thrust array on number 23?”

“Good to middling O’Brien, good to middling. I’ve replaced the main thrust intakes and had it running all last night”.

As the two bantered on, 120 17,000 ton drop canisters were being filled with ..something. Something ..that stank and was a bright lurid orange. Other canisters were being filled with bright purple, pink or neon blue substances. On the side of a large pump that had been bolted to the back of the bay was the logo of a huge grinning orange gremlin with a small ZMCI logo beneath it.

It had started a few months ago with the appearance of a new kids data stream show in Zone 83. The shows star was Neon Squid 4000, a sentient genetically modified squid fighting the forces of the evil planet “Zvarg XI ” with its amazing ability to synthesise its ink into various chemicals. The show had been a flop, what hadn’t been a flop were the canisters of “SQUID INK” . The stuff was actually some form of cancelled anti riot foam that ZMCI had apparently been unable to sell. After two months of the canisters playing merry hell in Megacity One the product had been banned and the military had become interested. The result was a neon coloured quick setting foam that stank to high heaven and set in 20 minutes to something with the consistency of concrete. It was this substance that the tanker was carrying and that was being pumped into the huge drop canisters cored already with the catalyst in barrels rigged with small flash charges and welded to the canisters internal walls

Slowly the task force plodded down to its set orbit.

The three MV-22Is blasted over the border, keeping low to avoid radar. They were being covered by a few F/A-96E Archangelsks. They banked east after passing Courpus Christi, then north towards Houston. Here, the three modified Ospreys would begin forward operations set ups. That, and recruitment.

Those who knew Houston knew that there were three things it had to offer to the state. Money, a good spot for car shows such as Hot Import Nights, and some of the better looking women in Texas (not that there any women that weren't good looking, there was a reason TCU in Ft. Worth had won Playboy's most beautiful campus award several years running). However, Houston had another plus: gangs. While that wasn't really a plus, persay, it was for the Imitorans. Becuase the one friend you have when invading is a cop killer. The Imitoran Marines now in transit were originally being trained to make an assault in the northern territories of California & Alaska, but had been reasigned. Another unit would take care of that.

Texas was the big target for Imitoran forces. This is the part they wanted. The Fratelli administration had big plans for how to best handle the former territory known as Texas, one that would expand operations of Imitora. The three Osprey's stayed low, flying over the open expanses of Texas, looking to land in Houston in under an hour.
