Burkavik to relax civil laws.

Mirfak
11-02-2005, 14:45
As civil liberties reached an all-time low on Mirfak with the passage of the last set of legislation, the Alphin has pledged to begin relaxing laws restricting anonymity and free speech, as well as identifying and reversing defunct legislation from the Kolani administration and possibly even establishing a bill of rights. This is the latest in a series of moves by the Alphin directed towards the liberalization of the traditionally conservative Dominion of Mirfak. Independent popularity polls place Burkavik's approval rating at 42%, but she has pledged to "do what is right, whether the nation approves or not." How far she is willing to go, and how much Mirfakan businesses crippled by new legislation are willing to take, has yet to be seen.
