Adejaani

OOC: To stave off the inevitable cries...
Unlike the original SeaQuest, this ship doesn't feature bio-armor, nor lasers or similar. Just torpedoes.
This thing is late modern, almost early future tech and there is only one of these in my Fleet...
It is powered by an MHD (Magnetohydrodynamic drive), the same type from the movie The Hunt for Red October. However, the MHD drives aboard this vessel can only propel the ship at a maximum approximate speed of Twelve knots.
Backup propulsion is by several large nuclear reactors and retractable conventional submarine screws.
The 'underwater CIWS' is literally that, which uses magnetically driven bullets. Failing that, small torpedoes are used to intercept incoming torpedoes, though it's not always working.
The armor, while ICly classified, is made up of a combination of titanium, kevlar and ceramics, to name a few.

The new capital ship class of Adejaani, tentatively named Morghan J. Harrington, after our first leader, was officially launched today amidst surprisingly light fanfare. At the cost of almost five trillion Adejaani Dollars, the Harrington is the single most expensive military program in the history of the nation.
With a size roughly comparable to a standard Nimitz class carrier, this massive submersible has already been branded a 'white elephant' by critics. Although with numerous large torpedo tubes, backed up by so called 'underwater CIWS' to detonate oncoming torpedoes, it's unsure what role the Harrington class will play with the Adejaani military.
Sources with the Ministry of the Military, speaking off the record, have already claimed that the current generation of submarines are more than capable of attacking enemy Fleets, at a much higher speed and at a significantly smaller cost. There are rumors, however, that the Harrington mounts a new massive large bore nuclear-fusion-warhead tipped torpedo, as well as larger fusion tipped cruise missiles.
Plans for a second ship of the class has already been vetoed and even the nameship itself may be scrapped if it does not perform to expectations, though whose expectations they are, is unknown.
Stats:
Length: 1,004 feet (306.1m)
Beam: 280 feet (85.3m)
Decks: Twelve
Hull: Hard Hatâ„¢ armor composite (details classified)
Propulsion: MHD drives
Power plant: Four nuclear fission reactors (output classified)
Range: Classified
Max speed: Classified
Crew: Approximately 600
Weapons: Unknown, believed to be approximately twenty torpedo tubes, bore size unknown. Secondary defensive measures are also unknown
