The Constitutional Monarchy of Oyaji Fidelis is a tiny, socially progressive nation, remarkable for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-working, intelligent population of 5 million enjoy a sensible mix of personal and economic freedoms, while the political process is open and the people's right to vote held sacrosanct.
The tiny government juggles the competing demands of Social Welfare, Religion & Spirituality, and Commerce. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 3%. A large private sector is led by the Pizza Delivery industry, followed by Door-to-door Insurance Sales and Basket Weaving.
Crime is a serious problem, probably because of the country's utter lack of prisons. Oyaji Fidelis's national animal is the shark and its currency is the dollar.
HISTORY:
Oyaji fidelis was found In 1954, when three friends (Ridley Hudson, Atsushi Shimoda and L.F.C. Bob "Ace" Ferelli ) found an unclaimed slot of land off of the coast of Japan. The three wise you men struck a deal with the Japanese goverment who felt the land was insugnificant. The deal was a mere 500,000 Yen ($5,000) and using their life savings, all three men built a small town inside of the island which was smaller than most towns you would see. This small town would later grow to double it's size, and from then on tripled as more residents came aboard.
The three decided that they had to come up with a name, so Atsushi, a Christian missionary who was saved in WWII, presented the name Oyaji island (Oyaji translated means "Father" in Japanese). Both Atsushi and Hudson liked the name, only Firelli didnt share their sentiments. He said "While part of me likes it, the other part is unsure". So after much pondering, Ferelli suddenly had a thought, "Oyaji Fidelis". Firelli implied "Fedelis" (being part of the Marine slogan 'Simper Fidelis') meant Greek for "Always Faithful". Oyaji Fidelis, Father Always faithful". The three young settlers decided to keep the name and thus Oyaji Fidelis was born.
After many years of things running smoothly, as more of a community, 1957 came as a shock as Anarchy broke out in their small island. 5,000 of the islands then 20,000, began looting and commiting disorderly acts. 100 people were murdered in the incident prompting the three to create an immediate government.
But as fate would have it, Ferllie died of a heart attack the next night. There were only two now. Hudson and Shimoda agreed to adopt the Japanese form of government and ruled side by side until their deaths.
In 1959, with both men married, they decided that their children shall rule the kingdom when they pass on. They had an agreement that if one had a daughter and the other had a son, the two were arranged to be married and rule as Emperor and Emperess. Again, fate intervened and Hudson had a boy while Shimoda had a girl.
On 5/7/1975, At the ages of 16, both Atsushi's daughter Emi Shimoda and Hudson's son Moses Hudson, were wed and had there first son the following year. They named him Atsushi Hudson, using the name of Emi's father and keeping in Western tradition with the last name.
The island steadily grew and the people became more advanced adopting both American and Japanese ways. The main forms of entertainment are Professional Wrestling, Movies, Arts and Theatre with Sports being more of less religious fan following than the other forms.
In 1989, at the age of 67, Atushi Shimoda died from a reptured blood vessel in his neck, caused by a giant tumor. The nation fell into shock and the crime rate grew do to their mourning. To make things worse, Hudson died two years later at the age of 73 from stress related trauma. Not being able to handle the situation, Emi Shimoda and Moses hudson stepped down in 1994 and left their 18 year old son to take over, since he could related alot to the younger generation as well as have the wisdom to handle the elderly. His strategies helped the national alot but the crime rate is still a struggle today.
Hudson has developed a strong relationship with South Korea, Japan, the US and Saudi Arabia, who all help each other out in needed ways. His partner ship with the nations leaders was deemed "the 4 amigos".
Hudson introduced much of the Liberterian legislation, including improving social and personal freedoms to those whos actions he may not approve up, but still care for. He is fairly liberal for a Christian man and is generally well like, albeit not by force. Due to the influence of the past/current rulers and the influx of American/South Korean's, the nation has an extremely high Christian population.
