Lathan Devers sat in his office. He was wondering about the events he had set in progress.
The Corporation was beginning to form. Was it time to meet these supposed allies?

He called to his officer.
'Offer an open invitation. Let those from our corporation and neighbouring regions who wish to visit our fair city come and be welcome'

He turned to the window and looked at the skyline of Quartas, as this message was relayed.

Devers began his preparations.
The parade must be set up. The banquet prepared. This would be a tricky diplomatic situation.
With his state only recently established he had little knowledge of the proper etiquette for state affairs.
He decided he would have to ally closely with a member of the older republics. Possibly the ambassador from Tistzl. Such a religious empire.

Now he had but to wait for the replies.

The Emperor had just returned from a walk in the garden when he heard of the invitation from the government head of Kyata. Pondering for a moment, he decided to know more about this nation's intentions, and wrote a letter.

My esteemed Lathan Denvers, I am Emperor Hachiman of Imperial Japan. I believe it would be to the best interest of my nation, and perhaps yours as well, that we be allowed to assist and participate in this meeting. I'm looking forward to your reply.

At last. The local governments were responding. How best to formulate such a reply.

First Minister Devers would like to welcome the delegates of Imperial Japan. Although our country is but humble we are interested in strengthening our bonds with those mightier neighbouring countries. We shall be holding a festival in honour of those who would deign us with their prescence.

That should be a suitable reply. Diplomacy is hard.

Lord Barbarossa had just concluded a meeting of the Assembly when the message was delivered to him by an aide. It had traveled many Light Years, but had been restored by the data technicians. Having read this, he sat at his desk, and wrote the reply:

First Minister Devers, I am Lord Barbarossa of Snake Eaters, and having recieved your message, would like to request that I personally attend. This message may seem slightly garbled, as we are a highly technologically advanced nation, and therefore we may seem slightly different. I await your reply, use the same frequency as before, we shall monitor it
Yours sincerly, Lord Barbarossa

Lord Barborossa, We would like to announce that you would be most welcome. And it would be considered a great honour if you would attend in person. We will transmit the final arrangements via the same frequency and hope that you will receive it.
