To Awake from the Slumber... (Calling for old timers, late 2002 and early 2003)

It was a time of reflection as Aerigian President Andrew Yang strolled about in his garden in the beautiful afternoon sun.

The grass has just began to grow as the temperature reached its mid-teens on the western seaboard of Aerigia. The hustle and bustle of downtown Aden seems far away, although it was only blocks away from the Presidential residence.

The past years have been filled with internal struggles and pain . Ever since the invasion of the Heartland by region invaders, relations with the rest of the world has never been the same. There was much distrust of the outside world throughout the region, and while Andrew Yang was one of the Heartlander Presidents actively pushing for reintegration of the Heartland with the outside world, most nations have been incrasingly dormant with inter-regional issues.

Only this morning had he came across the speech logs of President Truman Churchill, as of Lost Vegas, God bless their nation. President Churchill was a true statesman that brought the Heartland values to the world, he thought. With the demise of their nation during the invasion, and one of the senior members of the Heartland region, Andrew felt almost compelled to continue Truman's work.

Andrew sat down on the bench, looking at the Fountain of Youth, built for the late Dukes of Aden in the 1700s. The export-led Aerigian economy, beacuse of recent Heartland troubles, have been stagnating. There was really only one thing to do.

He picked up his personal digital assistant, and began to search through Aerigia's diplomatic ties with the rest of the world.

King Duncan VI, was sat on his chair, feet up on the desk, flicking through volume 3 of the Encyclopaedia Heartlandica, (Unabridged Edition), the midday sun was streaming through the ornate window just behind him.

He was lost in the words and imagery of The Central Prudentian Empire's story, after several hours had passed he placed the book back on the shelf, he couldnt remember the last time he had had dinner with, or even spoken to his old friend King Andrew Yang of Aerigia, time had flown by and it was probably years rather than weeks, if he was honest.

He reached for the phone sat neatly in the corner of his desk and then sat back again, I'll call him tomorrow, he thought.
