Project Talon

Padmasa

OOC:For more on the project that Typhus speaks of in the first paragraph see here. If you wonder about the timing between to two incidents, the events presented in this thread are months if not years later. We have yet to all agree on the time but it is very fluid.

“The greatest disadvantage of working with us,” Typhus said laughing heartily “is that we tend to collect secrets and apply them ruthlessly.” Typhus walked down the hall with Ari and the Hunter. “I have just this week seen off five squads from project Talon and couldn’t be happier. The modifications are spectacular and the troopers are taking to them very well… although all have become very independent, draconic nature I suppose.” They turned into a small private library and each took a seat. The chairs were high-backed and very comfortable. Around them books, actual books (!), lined the walls.

“I worry though, Typhus. You are taking a huge risk sending them abroad,” said Ari quietly. “if the Masters were to officially know what you were doing it would be disastrous. After the Wampyr rebellion no one has been allowed to tinker with genetic modification without strict approval and supervision for even the most minor things. Not even you could survive the backlash from this.”

“I do not doubt you but we have all been prepared for this, it has always been possible what with the inquisition constantly looking for a reason to bring our deaths about. Besides I have sent them aboard the Masters’ Will, what could happen?” A small portable comm that Typhus carried suddenly beeped. He answered with a smirk still playing on his lips. “Yes. I see,” his face showed shock and then his jaw set and he glowered at his two friends, “I agree, yes. We will do what we can.”

Typhus closed the communicator and stood, suddenly incased in his highly ornate yet deadly armour. “Mind Sifter has fallen… he was on a ship, ‘Dark Imperium,’ when a lackey led a revolt with inquisitional support. The Masters’ Will is no longer ours. I am sending the Hell’s Gate even now. We have only an hour if we are lucky.”

Ari stood and nodded suddenly grim, as was The Hunter but neither held any doubts. It was time.

The events of the next few hours would not come to light for days but when it was all released to the various heads of the Order and even escaped to the media of the various nations the backlash was horrendous. The three most respected military orders in Padmasa, a portion of its main army, and roughly a fifth of its fleet had gone renegade. The masterminds of this, Typhus and his senior lieutenants had escaped and their complexes had been obliterated utterly, along with any evidence.

The reasons for the revolt were unclear, but the actions that they took with such speed and purpose were terrifying. Within a two hour period all the traitors had fled the system, most leaving by different access points, none under firm Padmasan control. A Spartan watch commander had actually spoken to Typhus via the comm and wished him a speedy journey and good luck… But then, as ground teams of inquisitional shock troops breached the bases of the various military orders the very over-preparedness of the Padmasan defenses was used against them. A ship using yet unknown tech had decloaked within Padmasan space, on a route down to the Draconfort… the sheer amount of fire power brought to bare had obliterated the ship and the mountain fortress entirely. Although evidence suggested that charges placed inside the mountain and surrounding area strategically had aided in the destruction. The other bases were much smaller, pre-planted charges set to go off as soon as the Draconfort fell obliterated them, turning each into a vast well of earth, null charges had turned the bases into subatomic dust.

The renegades had left Order space but already the bulk of the Padmasan fleet was on its way to attempt to find them… they must not be allowed to survive.

“The following is an official release from the Dark Masters of Padmasa,” Alyson Kreegsbrock said looking directly into the holo-recorder, “Lord Typhus, Lord Ari, The Hunter, Lord Mind Sifter, and all of those that follow them including two legions of shock troops, three entire military orders, and a small number of Fleet ships are declared traitors and renegades. Any and all allied nations that can provide information on these men are to contact Padmasa as soon as possible and if possible engage them. The destruction of these men will be rewarded… If confirmed the destruction of the entire stolen fleet and everyone on it carries a ten-trillion GT reward, Typhus himself carries a 500 billion GT reward. The others will each net 250 billion GT. They are to be considered hostile to all allied nations and should be treated as such.” Typhus slammed his fist down on the table, abruptly cutting off the holo. “It seems everything has begun. Now we just have to see who we can get to join us…”

“Typhus, I doubt anyone will want to help us. Besides reports from within the empire from our spies are not exactly good reading. We’ve lost most of our information Korps and any town that was associated with us is either being purged or under such close inquisitional watch that a flea couldn’t hop from one person to the next without being stopped and questioned.”

“I wasn’t talking about loyalists in Padmasa. We have just become the greatest threat to Padmasa… while we can’t approach the planet we have more intel and more tech that hasn’t crossed any borders than any smuggler. Ever. Plus we are basically at war with Padmasa now, anyone that wants to bring the Masters down will want our help, or at least will try to use us as a new weapon.” Typhus mused.

Mind Sifter shrugged and sipped his wine. “That is all well and good but that is not one of our goals. We should try and get as far away as possible… get out from under their Radars as it were. It is enough that you destroyed tradeships from every nation in the Order and despite the silence of the Spartans I think the poison in Kentaka’s wine has caused quite a stir. Hell, those fanatics that Ari dredged up in the Monolithian Empire and sent gunning for Steelbane and his family with guns loaded with Elfshot must be causing news somewhere. We have just managed to piss off every single one of our former allies.”

“It is likely, though Steelbane was never an ally of mine. But we have much to think on my friends, and still more to do. Let us retire and see what our enemies do on these nights of trouble. We have caused a civil war, despite how will the government is covering it up,” Typhus rose and toasted to his men before walking out.

“I hope they all know what they are doing,” Mind Sifter sighed and emulated Typhus, draining the last of his wine and heading to the door.

“Don’t worry, `Sifter. Everything is in hand,” Murmured the Hunter in a quite voice.
